The Stitchpunks are discouraged when 2 fails to 'wake' like the others have and try to pass the time through reminiscing about how important the Inventor has been to all of them. Through the numerous memories, they all realize how important he has been to them, but can 2 come back to them?

And Five began to laugh. Somewhere in his mind, he knew he sounded as crazy as Six did, but he had no power over it. He laughed so hard that his sides started hurting. And he couldn't stop. His laughter grew more and more hysterical as his mind began to scream at him that he had to stop or his body would overheat. He wasn't getting enough air! But on he laughed.

Sequel to Freaks. Their father has been gone for years. Besides Nine, nobody thinks he's coming back, and the youngest Stitchpunk's assertions that he is starts to grate. They finally snap at him, and he runs back to his original home. But the thing is, Nine was right. Their father came back, and he still loves them. But how do they feel about the big, scary human that made them?

Five meets a new Stitchpunk after running away. Nine is kind and gentle, and when he connects with both One and Six, things couldn't be better. But a single moment of the past haunts the youngest Stitchpunk. His father didn't mean it, he was sure somewhere in him, but that doesn't stop the doubts, the fears. Can the others help him to get past this? Or was his father right?

There was a jolt so hard that the being couldn't ignore it. He, for the being was male, felt that he had a body and slowly pushed himself up. His hand touched his right optic as he tried to get his bearings. Oh! He had a hand! He flexed the fingers, watching them bend. Optics slid down to the opening on his front. He parted the fabric to see moving parts. Curious, he reached in.

"I came to find my children," the man replied. Could it be? Could it be the man that made them? Has he finally come home to be with them forever? They hope it's true, but in the post-war world, they've seen so many humans come and go. And he doesn't really know ALL of them. Then again, Nine never woke up while he was there. And he doesn't want them to call him Father anymore.

Still suffering from injuries after the machine's attack, 6 seeks relief from the pain by turning to 8's magnetic headset. That is, until he's caught in the act. 6x8, Request, Human!punk.

He knows their stories, but he doesn't want them to know his shameful past. What happened left permanent marks. He feels like a problem. A monster. A beast. How could they want somebody so broken?

She is the only one. Sure there are humans, but they aren't Stitchpunks. After years of hearing One's jabs on it, of the others not standing up with her, she nearly loses her mind...until she meets Nine. He treats her like a princess. He doesn't look down on her. She is happy for the first time. But she is still being rubbed raw. Oh well. It can't be that bad, right?

"And you know something else?" Two demanded. "He's the most worthless leader that ever lived!" Those words changed One's life. Because without those words, he never would have met Nine, and Two's words would have remained true. But will they accept the changed One, or will they reject him as he had rejected them. And then there's the mystery of Nine. What exactly is he hiding?

How exactly did the Stitchpunks meet each other? Why exactly did Five lose his optic? What kind of accident caused it and who is really to blame? Why does Seven hate One? Why does Eight follow One so loyally? And what can Nine do to fix him? Questions, questions, questions. So c'mon in and find out.

Five was just irritated. That's all. He was tired, but Two expected him to be in the workshop all day, as was the norm. That wouldn't be that hard, right? Just fiddle with a few inventions all day... Ugh, he couldn't even make it sound fun. But certainly nothing bad could happen from just a little irritation, right? Wrong.

The music was back, pulsing in his head. It was a language he understood, and the magnet let him hear it more. He craved to hear the music out loud, but he'd never had the chance. But now Nine stood there offering him the very chance he'd craved. All he wanted was his trust and his silence. Such a high price. Was he really willing to pay it?
