I'm bad at summaries so: This is an Anne With An E fanfiction. It's mostly centered around the ship "Colebert" (Cole x Gilbert).

In canon, after the classroom window is broken, Cole stands up to Mr Phillips and refuses to accept any punishment from him. This story explores an alternate universe in which Cole is too frightened to stand up for himself, and has to accept the punishment Mr Phillips is determined to dish out. The events of this day have far-reaching consequences and lives are changed forever.

"What had he expected? That he really would get the chance to walk Anne home for the rest of his sorry life? As if one time wasn't a miracle enough!" Or a story in which Anne and Gilbert decide to discuss why they've become friends in the first place. Shirbert, Anne with an E versed.

Maybe love wasn't always the stuff of legends. What if it was the quiet things? The constance? Love was steady, she realized. It was study sessions and long walks, an ashen gaze and an encouraging smile in a sea of faces that expected her to fail. Shirbert future fic AU.
