With each generation of the Clans, there will always be sins that go unpunished. Their clanmates failed to see the cracks within their seemingly innocent smile. Dying with the honour they didn't deserve. Yet there's no hiding from Starclan. These silent killer's crimes will be exposed and be a warning to those living cats today.

With Tigerclaw gone, Fireheart is the new deputy of ThunderClan now. However, despite the plentiful greenleaf season, things are far from peaceful. Fireheart is forced to deal with his conflicting emotions about Bluestar, continuing Cinderpaw's training, and the knowledge that there's a murderer loose in the forest.

The city is home to many cats and rumors. One rumor surrounds a ghost that comes in the early light or morning to take the life of a cat who has recently taken the life of another. It may just be a story, but those for whom the ghost come for know better. The ghost is a perfect assassin, and when Clan cats come looking for allies in the city, they find themselves intrigued.

"Before you were a medicine cat? Do you miss the world before?" Spottedleaf takes a shaky breath. She knows what Firepaw is asking. "Yes, Firepaw, sometimes I do."
