While looking for ingredients for Ignis to use, Noctis stumbles across a lone, damaged, MT unit. He'd never imagined a machine could seem resigned or even speak yet this one did. Maybe there was more to them than they knew? Noctis did know that Ignis and Gladio were going to kill him, if the MT didn't.

To Ignis the world of man was a strange one. Through his fledgling bond with Noct he now understood their words but their actions and intentions still baffled him much of the time. Moved from the caverns where he'd lived all his life and relocated to the Citadel, where there were many men, Ignis began to learn to be something he was not.

Nobody ever thinks twice about Noctis napping in the back of the Regalia, especially after a full day of hunting, but the boys discover that he is actually passed out with a high-grade fever. With hospitals or risking a drive in the dark being out of the question, they can only hope that their basic care will be enough to get Noctis through the night.

As a new rival to Noctis rises, Ignis finds himself battling an internal conflict that only he can solve.
