The Guard is struggling post-war, despite its apparent victory. Ethan has withdrawn completely into himself, much to his father's distress, and Matt is struggling to fill Lorian's shoes as head of the Guard. Isabel, lost in her concern for her friends, teeters on the precipice of making some very poor decisions that could threaten the tentative peace that has settled.

It had been easy, almost instinctive, to offer his ability in exchange for a life together. It had been the heat of the moment, the imminent threat of 'you're going to lose her'. It had been scarily easy. Or, being ageless has less perks than it might seem to at first sight, and Arkarian is just human, with fears and ghosts of his own.

In the few days after the kids get home, Shaun is also worried about someone else, someone no one would ever call a child, but who might have been shouldering more than his fair share of nightmares. Shaun might not be a perfect father, nor a perfect friend, but he cares, and he worries. Lending an ear for a much needed conversation is the least he could do for an old friend.

Isabel is 33 by the time it occurs to her, and has been 33 for a few months, too.

After rescuing Arkarian from the underworld, Ethan, Isabel and Matt are all grounded by their terrified parents, and justifiably so. But they don't know the whole story, and things are rarely as easy as they seem to be. Or, Ethan sneaks out during the night to make sure the person who is single-handedly responsible for his sanity is still there, alive and breathing.

This takes place immediately after the chapter in The Shadow, in which Arkarian takes Isabel to The Valley, and she asks him to make love to her. Please note that there is explicit sex in this work.

Life as a high schooler is not what it seems for Ethan and Isabel. Adventure and angst, set in the early chapters of 'The Named'. This story takes place after Ethan and Isabel have completed a few missions and want to celebrate. Isabel thinks she likes Arkarian, but could it actually be Ethan?

It has been 12 years since the battle that Rochelle lost her life in. Ethan disappeared shortly after her death and hadn't been seen since. The Order of Chaos has raisin again and all help is needed. Dartemis reaches out to Ethan to come back with his wife. Who is his wife? Why did Ethan disappear? What will the guard say when he and his wife return to the Guard?

The war is on the horizon, and Isabel and Arkarian take one final moment to spend with each other before the end. Set during The Key just before Rochelle comes to Arkarian's chambers and notices a rumpled bed.
