Why only sons are ought to be the heir when daughters are equally best

I finished Dragon Heir and was entirely dissatisfied by the ending. Chima had left so much out. Here's my retelling of what happened after the battle for Trinity.

A one-shot about Becka and Carrie being meddlesome. Not very good, in my opinion. But whatever.

Madison resents her newfound Dragonheart powers, so much so that she wishes she had never claimed them. But can she handle the alternative - a world where the battle was lost?
