(AU re: Mac's dad's role) When they find James, Mac agrees to work on rebuilding the relationship with his father that he always wanted. As Mac starts acting distant and odd, it becomes clear that it was more than protectiveness or fear of losing Mac to his real dad that led to Jack's worry. Something is very wrong. The teams latest mission impacts Riley more than she is willing to let on.

A short one shot. What happens the first time Mac has to diffuse a bomb after he failed with the elevator bomb that killed Charlie. No warnings.

It takes being drugged with truth serum for Mac to finally open up about things that have been bothering him. Luckily, even drugged himself, Jack is a good listener.

Phoenix catches wind of a plan to steal the prize money from a charity rodeo event. Obviously, Matty's first instinct is to send in Mac and Jack. What could possibly go wrong...?

Mac is struggling in the aftermath of the Mason situation, leaving the rest of the team to worry about his state of mind. When Mason strikes again the team is thrown back into the fray, putting Mac in more danger than ever.

Five times Mac needed Jack but wouldn't admit it, and one time he did. Series of tags/missing scenes throughout S3. Mac was trained to find the solution, to be the solution. He was conditioned to internalize his struggles, his pain. Needing people was a liability. But then he lost a friend. And his carefully constructed world disintegrated around him.

Some things are just meant to be, no matter the universe. Mac and Jack's bromance is one of those things. Or, 100 ways Mac and Jack could have met.

I'm dying without my weekly Mac fix. This is an AU with spoilers for the last couple episodes. Jack comes back to find Mac in a funk, he finds out Oversight is dying. Mac gets some bad news and the family have to regroup and get back into rhythm to help him. Warning for occasional swearing and intense emotions. Shouldn't be any violence, but you never know.

Set post season 3. Mac and Jack find the stress of the last year catching up with them as they ride out a neighborhood fireworks display.

Mac and Jack have been in so many car chases in their line of work it's a damn miracle they've never gotten in an accident. When that finally changes, it isn't even because of the dangers of their job – all it takes is a deer, some black ice, and the backwoods of Montana in the middle of winter to mess up an otherwise perfectly good vacation.

It's dark when Mac wakes up so it takes him a few moments to decide that he really is awake. It's the worst kind of darkness, suffocatingly black. He can't tell if his eyes are actually open or not, although, maybe it's a good thing it's so dark because any form of light would make the brutal pounding in his head even worse and he's pretty sure that's not something he wants.

Jack and Bozer seem to think Mac can't take care of himself. So they appoint themselves as his personal matchmakers, and vow to find him a girlfriend to help him take care of himself. Let's just say things don't go as planned.

They're pretty sure this mission will have the same "we don't talk about..." rules attached to it. If they survive it. Post-season 3.

When Jack finally returns from his assignment to take down Tiberius Kovacs, he learns very quickly that the mission left him with invisible scars, but it's the person he cares about most who ends up suffering for it. Can Mac forgive him, can he forgive himself?

Oh, what an opportunity missed. This is a whumpified version of the accident at the end of 2x04, X-Ray Penny. Also, let's just say that when Murdoc attacked them they were closer to Phoenix and in a more remote location than in the episode. I don't want the paramedics getting there too fast, gives us more time to explore the whump.
