Jack takes care of Mac and Riley when they are sick, but when has Mac ever done anything half-way?

MacGyver 1940s AU. It's World War II and every eligible young man is joining the army. Angus MacGyver is one of them. Once there, he meets Sergeant Jack Dalton. Their first order of business? Take out Hitler. But their plan goes sideways, as plans tend to do.

Why was Jack acting so odd/OOC in the first few episodes of Season 2? This is what I came up with after rewatching over the past couple weeks. Mostly just Mac&Jack, but the other main characters make some cameo appearances. HurtJack/ComfortingMac AND HurtMac/ComfortingJack Rated T to be safe.

When infected by an unknown substance during a mission, Jack spirals into delirium while Mac has to do his best to bring him back to himself. ONESHOT. COMPLETE

All Jack has to do is keep the goons distracted while Mac does his thing. It's never that easy.
