Gray POV
Despite the fact we were pretty much completely healed, Natsu and I agreed to take a little break from guild work again. We both had nearly died, so we figured we had done enough for a little while. Besides, we wanted to take some time off so we could spend more time together as a couple.
Honestly, I found it odd that we had been together for over a month, and we hadn't really done much of anything to get her, just us two.
Natsu agreed that we needed to just get some alone time away from the prying eyes of the guild, so we decided to take two weeks off together before picking out another job to go on. And the next job we chose would be a bit easier. No more abandoned ruins that might house dangerous fire demons.
And that's how my day began. I woke up, only to see Natsu climbing in through the window with a cheerfully goofy grin on his face. I made breakfast for both of us after laughing at his antics, and he really liked my cooking, which brought a shy smile to my face.
"I'm not sure why I came so early, but hey, I got free food out of it so I'm not complaining." Natsu said, as he wolfed down the scrambled eggs I had made for him. The bacon, also made by me, was long gone. He loved it.
I chuckled and combed my fingers through his soft, fluffy pink hair. "You just wanted to catch me without a shirt on." I replied, teasingly.
"Nah. That was just an added bonus." Natsu's eyes immediately dropped down to my bare chest, much to my amusement. "Damn." he muttered, thinking I couldn't hear him.
I rolled my eyes. "Alright, you pervert, I'm gonna go get a shirt on and deprive you from your added bonus." I said, standing up from where I was sitting beside him on the couch. I began walking towards my room but suddenly he sprang to his feet behind me and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me back toward him.
"No." he told me, with such a matter-of-fact voice I knew I couldn't argue. "No getting a shirt on. At least not for a few more minutes. Please?" he peeked over my shoulder so I could see his wide, adorable eyes.
I pretended to be annoyed and tried to shrug him off, but he held me tighter. "Okay, fine. Settle down, you big baby." I obediently went back to my seat on the couch.
He sat down beside me like he had been. But his plate was empty, and now he was staring at me intently. I wondered what was up, but then he patted his knee and I immediately understood what my lover wanted. I obediently moved so I was sitting between his legs, leaning back against his chest, facing away from him. Natsu smiled and crossed his arms over my chest from behind as I tilted my head back so it was resting on his warm shoulder.
"I'm not sure why you expect me to go shirtless when you're currently wearing one..." I mumbled, closing my eyes and completely giving in to his warm embrace. His skin was so fucking soft and inviting.
"Your protest has been noted." Natsu laughed and planted a soft kiss on the back of my neck. "We should go for a walk in the meadow today. It's really pretty this time of year, the sunflowers and daisies are in bloom." he suggested, nuzzling his face into my neck and letting out a soft sigh of contentment.
I shivered, unconsciously pressing back into his warmth. His excessive heat that would've normally made me uncomfortably warm was drawing me in. I loved the feeling of our opposite magic types trying to push against each other. Fighting for control over the other. I could freely admit I was more the submissive type and Natsu was dominant, so his magic was probably winning the battle.
"Yeah, let's do that." I agreed, trying to stop the pink color creeping into my cheeks. It was no use. I was blushing already. Natsu just had that effect on me.
"Mm. You're so cute, you know that?" he asked, creating a soft trail of butterfly kisses up the side of my neck.
"Eep!" I couldn't stop the small, frantic noise that just barely managed to escape my lips. "Don't tease me, d-dummy..." I tried to wriggle away from him, but he held me tightly, pulling me even closer, if that was even possible at this point.
"C'mon, you know you like it." Natsu smirked, repeating the teasing action twice more. His warm breath tickled my skin, driving me crazy. "Hold still." he added, when I kept squirming and trying to escape. He adjusted his grip on me so his right hand could start trailing up and down my abdomen, caressing my abs.
"N-Natsu, seriously, stop." I tried to bite back a giggle. "That t-tickles."
"Maybe you shouldn't go around shirtless if your skin is this sensitive. Did you ever think of that?" Natsu retorted, kissing my cheek. He gave me a mischievous look and added, "Besides, you're mine. That means I get to touch you wherever I want."
I ignored the seductive comment. "Well, I tried to go get a shirt on but you went and stopped me." I protested, folding my arms and glaring at him defiantly.
"Alright, alright, you've made your point, ice princess." Natsu feigned exasperation and rolled his eyes, even as he leaned forward and gave me a quick peck on the lips. "Gotcha."
My blush deepened and I turned away, my shyness coming back full-force. "Stop that."
"No." he said, grinning at me widely.
"Fine, then I'm gonna go put a shirt on." I shot back, knowing that I won the argument. I stood up so quickly that he didn't have time to recover and couldn't hold on. His hands slid off my skin and he let out a little cry of dismay.
"Nooo! Come back!" he whined. "You were keeping me warm!"
"Nice try. I'm an ice mage. All I can do is keep you cold." I told him, chuckling and turning away so I could walk to my room and get a shirt.
Natsu let out a little playful growl and suddenly his weight landed squarely on my back. He wrapped his arm around me and yanked me back toward him. Then he dug his fingers into my sides, causing me to jump and let out a little squeak of laughter. I tried to shove him off and run, but he wasn't letting go anytime soon.
"This is what happens when you misbehave." Natsu smirked and continued to tickle me, spidering his fingers up my belly.
"Stahp!" I exclaimed, finally managing to wriggle free. "Okay, okay, you win. No more tickling. Please?" I pleaded, quickly covering my sensitive middle with my arms.
"Fine. You're no fun." Natsu plunked his head down on my shoulder and pretended to pout. "Go get your shirt."
I twisted so I could plant a gentle kiss on his warm forehead. "Love you, dummy." I mumbled.
He smiled at me. "Love you too, bastard."
I brushed his hair out of the way so I could get to his soft lips and kiss him properly. Natsu closed his eyes and leaned in, pressing his palm to my chest and feeling my heartbeat as it skipped out of rhythm beneath his fingertips.
Only a moment later, we broke for air and I smoothed my thumb over his chin before gently pulling away from him. This time he didn't go after me, and instead let me head into my room to put a shirt on. Natsu waited a second before following me. He stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame and chattering as I dug through my drawers, looking for a shirt.
"You know, Lucy's having a party tomorrow night..." he told me, looking at his nails modestly.
"Hmm. Well. You know I never liked parties..." I started to say, but he cut me off with an amused look that told me I should shut up and let him finish.
"Too bad, Erza says if we don't go she's gonna run us through with her biggest, sharpest sword in her collection." Natsu laughed, waving a hand dismissively. "Which means we have to. Now, I didn't wanna go either because it's Lucy for crying out loud, but most of the guild is gonna be there too, so it's not gonna be too terrible."
"A-Alright. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Why does Erza want us to go so badly?" I asked, picking out a black t-shirt and tugging it over my head.
"Because apparently Lucy begged her incessantly to go, and Erza wants us to be there too, just to hopefully ease some of the tension between us and Lucy." Natsu explained. He paused before adding, "Oh, and she needs us there as emotional support, seeing as she doesn't wanna be there either."
I chuckled softly. That definitely sounded like something Sister Erza would do. "I just hope Juvia won't be there. She's been giving me such creepy looks lately."
"What kind of creepy looks?" suddenly his smile had faded and he was giving me a solid look of concern.
"Y-You know, the kind of look girls get when they really want to fuck."
"Oh. So she's that kind of stalker. Great." he rolled his eyes. "All the more reason for me to keep you away from her." he gave me a sweet smile.
"Yes please. She really freaks me out." I nodded enthusiastically. "I hate how she's always eyeballing me like I'm just a piece of meat or something. And when she isn't following me around or stalking from a distance, she's talking incessantly about how much she 'loves' me."
"Oh." Natsu growled and clenched his fists tightly. I could just barely make out the flickering shapes of sparks darting between and around his fingers, threatening to become a roaring flame. "She really irks me. I hate her. If I see her acting up, I'm gonna say something to her, you know. The entire guild knows we're together and she still won't quit, which is ridiculous in my opinion."
I grinned and decided to tell him the extent of what Juvia liked to do to me. It was both amusing and adorable when he was all angry and protective like this.
"Oh, and did I mention that she's always and I mean always hanging off my shoulder or touching me? She's always grabbing my hand, kissing my cheek, or even throwing her arms around me and hugging me without permission." I went on, running a comb through my messy black hair.
Natsu blanched with anger. "Hell no!" he exclaimed, storming out into the living room. "She's dead!"
I laughed loudly and ran after him once I was done getting myself ready for the day. He was sitting cross-legged on the arm rest of the couch, glaring at the floor, huffing little puffs of black smoke from his mouth like he always did when he was angry.
"Aw, babyyyy..." I crooned, putting my arms around his quivering body and running my fingers through his soft pink hair. "You don't have to be so mad..."
"Yes I do." he hissed. "Nobody's allowed to touch you. Except me."
"I know, it bothers me too. Just... Don't be so hard on Juvia. You might blast her to next century if you aren't careful. And I don't want you expelled from the guild because you murdered a fellow guild member." I chuckled and lifted his chin so I could pepper his face with kisses.
Natsu closed his eyes and slid his hand behind my back, nudging me closer. "Hmm..." he sighed, the harsh expression melting off his face and fading to one of contentment. "I don't know how you manage to make me feel better no matter the circumstance. But whatever it is you're doing... Don't stop."
"You don't have to get all poetic to ask for kisses." I smiled, pecking his forehead between his gorgeous honey-golden eyes.
"When are we going to the meadow?" he asked, changing the subject.
"Maybe after we go out to get some lunch. I don't know about you, but I'm already hungry again." I winked at him and took his hand, hauling him to his feet even as his eyes lit up. Natsu was always hungry, so taking him out to eat was- in his opinion- the kindest thing I could've done for him.

Natsu POV
Gray treated me to an absolutely delicious lunch at a nice restaurant that had the best meatballs in Magnolia. It was a nice place, but it wasn't too fancy, and I appreciated that. Fancy restaurants just weren't my thing. After eating and chatting for awhile like any normal couple might, I decided it was time to go to the meadow.
I had been wanting to take Gray down there for awhile now. He had never been, and it was the most beautiful place I knew of. It seemed very romantic, and I just knew it was the perfect spot for him and me. He didn't seem to know what to expect, mostly because sunflowers and daisies in tall grass were a summer thing and he didn't really like summer things all that much.
"I understand perfectly." I had told him. "But you'll love it, I promise."
Because he loved me and wanted me to be happy, he agreed to go. So I practically dragged him there by the hand. I was so excited to show him this little secluded spot that I used to stay in all the time when I was a boy. As I grew older, I had promised myself I would never show anyone the meadow. I would reserve that secret honor for the person I was truly in love with.
When I had promised myself this, I was fourteen. And at that age, I had automatically assumed I would come back here leading a pretty girl by the hand, ready to show her this little corner of the world that was also a corner of my heart. I always pictured Lisanna for some reason when I thought of the girl I'd lead back here, but that was before she died and those childish old flames were gone.
Who knew I'd return with a guy, ready to show him into this special place I called home?
It only took a few minutes to find the secret entrance I always used when entering the meadow. It was a little gap between two ancient gnarled trees that grew so close together they had almost fused together. There was the smallest little space between, just large enough for me to squeeze through. And within, there was the meadow. It wasn't that large, but it was this vast space of tall lime colored grass that reached all the way up to my ribs, and insanely tall sunflowers that bowed and shimmied gracefully in the wind. The sunlight was plentiful here, making everything glow with warmth. It always took my breath away.
"It's been too long since I've come back here." I remarked, as Gray gaped at the beautiful sights around him.
His beautiful midnight eyes moved slowly from left to right, then back again, before finally settling on me. A huge grin broke out across his handsome face. "I love it. Thank you for showing me this, Natsu."
"I always promised myself I'd never show this place to anyone else. I reserved that for the one I love. And that love... Is you. You're the first person I've ever brought back here." I told him, taking both of his hands in mine. His skin was cold, pleasantly so, like the whisper of a chilly breeze on a hot summer day. "Everyone else I've been with... Yes, I thought I loved them, and some I even considered taking here. But not a single one of those girls was absolutely perfect for me. That was before I realized everything I could ever want or need was standing in front of me this entire time. Gray, I love you. So, so much. There's just something about you that I can't resist. I want you to be mine, now and forever. I want to be the only one you love. I want everything you are. You're so perfect."
I paused only when I realized Gray was crying. A couple large, glittering tears had started tracing their way down his face, leaving dark tracks on his pale skin. He lurched forward and threw his arms around me, beginning to sob as he buried his face in my shoulder. My eyes widened with concern, and I quickly slipped my arms around him in return, pulling him closer and stroking his silky black hair.
"Are you alright, Snowflake? Did I say something wrong?" I asked, kissing his temple.
"N-No, not a-at all..." he mumbled, clutching my shirt with a death grip. "I-It's just... N-Nobody's ever talked to me like that... O-Or said the things you j-just said to me. I-I just... I never thought... I-I never dared to let myself believe that... M-Maybe someone could e-ever actually love me..."
My heart broke a little at his words. I realized that in all my years being at the guild, I had never seen him walk in holding a girl's hand. He had never been with anyone. Never dated anyone. Never felt the gentle caress of a lover's touch on his skin. I was the first, and hopefully the only. I was also the first person who had told him I loved him and actually meant it.
"Oh, Snowflake... My poor, sweet little Snowflake..." I whispered into his hair, running my hand up and down his back, trying to comfort him.
"No, I-I'm okay, really." he laughed unconvincingly. "It's fine. I just want you to know that I love you too, more than you can imagine. You mean the world to me, and I wouldn't even be alive today if it weren't for you. You're like an angel, so fierce and beautiful." he looked up at me with glassy eyes. "Natsu... I'd be so lost without you..."
I gently guided him to a sitting position on the grass, letting him cuddle up in my lap. He nuzzled his face into my chest and sighed softly, his breath cold against my skin.
"I can't believe you've never had a girlfriend before. I've had several. And anyone would be lucky to have you." I pointed out, letting him tuck his head under my chin like a frightened boy. "I know I'm the luckiest guy in the world."
"Well... They've tried... Girls have confessed to me before..." he admit, sheepishly. I could tell this was hard for him to talk about, so I held him closer and rested my cheek on the top of his head, listening intently. "B-But... I rejected them all. I was just s-so afraid of what might happen if I dared to open up a little and love them back. I didn't want to get two steps closer to happiness, only to have the death of my lover send me flying all the way back to the beginning again."
"Why me, if it's not too much to ask?" I wondered, stroking his hair again.
"Something about you has always been different, Natsu. You've always been there for me." he replied, without hesitation. "A-And... I can freely admit that loving you is s-scary as hell, especially when you almost died just recently, i-in the ruins..." he trailed off and hesitated before continuing. "But after you held me when I was having nightmares and couldn't see past my own fear, and told me you were gonna keep me safe, I kinda fell for you."
I blushed a little and smiled. "Awww, you're so cute." I teased, before growing serious again. "Snowflake... I meant every word of what I said back there. I'll protect you no matter what. I love you, and I want you to be alright."
He shivered a little, and I hugged him closer. "Thank you, Natsu. I love you too, so much." he whispered.
After a few minutes spent holding each other, I slowly got up, pulling him to his feet beside me. "Let's walk around for a bit." I said, linking my arm through his. "This place is so much more beautiful when you explore a little."
Gray nodded his head in agreement and let me take the lead, following me through the tall grass that reached all the way up to our midsections. I kept pointing things out to him, like the albino sunflower bobbing from side to side in the warm breeze, or the oddly shaped cloud overhead. I knew I didn't have to be captain obvious, but I just really loved talking to him, even if it was about nothing important.
"Alright, idiot, you can stop talking now." Gray laughed, rumpling my hair teasingly. "You've started pointing out the same things twice. But yes. Everything is beautiful."
"Oh, shut up, ice princess." I rolled my eyes. "Shut up or fight me."
"I would win." he quipped, nudging me with his elbow.
"Wanna bet?" I shot him a playful look as a soft growl managed to escape my throat. "Because I'm pretty sure it's the other way around!"
"Oh yeah? Wanna test that incorrect theory of yours?" Gray balled his pale hands into fists and bounced on the balls of his feet, pretending to be squaring up for a fight.
"Rrrrrrrawr!" I growled like a playful cat and tackled him, grinning from ear to ear. It had been so long since we'd had one of our fist fights, but I knew this one wasn't gonna be the same as our other ones because we weren't actually angry at each other.
We grappled in the grass, laughing as we both tried to pin the other or gain the upper hand. It finally ended when I pinned his arms behind his head and got on top of him, using my weight to keep his back pressed into the ground. He struggled feebly, but u had him good, holding his wrists under his head. Finally he chuckled and gave up, his entire body going limp beneath me.
"Hah. Told you I would win." I grinned.
"Such is life." Gray replied, staring up into my eyes with a warm, loving smile.
I was taken by how adorable he was, especially on his back with hands behind his head. I cupped his face and leaned down, pressing my lips to his. He closed his eyes and accepted it, slipping his arms around my waist and pulling me into him. I nipped at his soft lips, being as slow and gentle as possible. I knew he preferred quiet, gentle sensuality over rough, heated domination (regardless of what he preferred, I would always be on top though. That's something I will never give up).
I kissed him for a full minute, barely pausing to let him breathe, just savoring the feeling of being so close. Finally he shuddered and nudged my arm, telling me that he couldn't breathe. I slowly pulled away, caressing his cheek.
"Has anyone ever told you how handsome and attractive you are?" I asked, leaning in close and nibbling on his earlobe.
Gray gasped for breath before responding. "N-No... Just you..."
I smiled and waited a moment, allowing him time to recover before moving back to his kiss-swollen lips. This time, as I kissed him, I touched my tongue to his lips, asking for entry. He hesitated before parting them just a little, allowing me to slip in and explore his mouth. I closed my eyes blissfully. He tasted like peppermint, cold and sweet, delightfully smooth. I slid my hand under his shirt and caressed his abs, admiring how soft and sleek his pleasantly cool skin was. He let out a soft moan at the touch, and I smiled into the kiss.
After a long moment where there was nothing in the world except me and him, our lips locked together and our arms wrapped securely around each other, my lungs were screaming for air so I had to stop.
Gray regarded me with his beautiful blue eyes that were now sparkling with passion as he panted, trying to pull air into his lungs. I was gasping for breath too, staring back at him, absolutely starstruck by how sexy he looked.
"You're a great kisser." he told me, and I laughed a little at that.
"Thank you, Snowflake. I try." I replied, laying down on my stomach on top of him and resting my head on his chest, which was rising and falling steadily as he breathed.
We stayed there like that for a little while, and I was just beginning to fall asleep when the smell of rain reached my nose and Gray suddenly stiffened beneath me and whispered, "Someone's here."
I instinctively sat bolt upright, my hands flying from his body as they ignited with flames. I was ready to defend both of us if I had to. The smell of rain when it was perfectly sunny out could only mean one thing. Juvia had followed us. She always carried the scent of rain.
"It's Juvia." I hissed, my eyes darting about and searching the trees around the meadow for any sign of blue hair and pale, ocean-tinted skin.
Gray let out a soft groan of exasperation and pressed the heels of his hands over his eyes. "Urrrrrg, why can't she just leave me alone?"
"It's okay, Snowflake, let's just go. She can't bother us when we're at home, behind locked doors." I stood up and grabbed his hand, helping him to his feet beside me. I smirked when the realization hit me that he was two inches taller than me, yet he was still so submissive. "You should spend the night with me." I added, my voice adopting a seductive tone. "I just want you."
Gray stared at me for a moment before slowly nodding in agreement. "I need you, Natsu." he said, squeezing my hand.
The walk home was relatively short. At first, the strong smell of rain lingered behind us, but as we entered my neighborhood, the odd scent vanished. Juvia had given up and left us alone. I had to admit, she was pretty good at stalking us, seeing as I never would've known she was there if it weren't for my enhanced sense of smell. I had never seen or heard her anywhere behind us. She was frighteningly good at moving silently and evading detection.
When we got to my house, I barely stopped to lock the door behind me before I had pushed Gray up against the nearest wall and started kissing him all over again. He gasped a little as his back hit the wall before completely succumbing to the kiss, brushing my hair out of my face and pulling me closer.
"Gray..." I murmured, kissing off his lips and down the side of his neck. "You're so... I just... I love you..."
"I-I love you too." he blushed as I quickly located the soft spot on the crook of his neck and pressed my lips to it. "Goddammit, Natsu, please don't tease me."
"Hehe, but it's so much fun..." I pretended to pout before smoothing my tongue over the spot, eliciting a soft whimper from the ice mage. I only waited a moment before getting impatient and sinking my teeth into his neck, nibbling and sucking as I became addicted to the wintery taste of his skin.
"Fuck." he muttered, his blush deepening as I pushed against him and bit down on his neck again.
"I'm not gonna stop until you have my mark, so everyone knows who you belong to." I growled, pausing for just a moment to kiss his lips before attacking his neck once again.
Finally, I pressed a tender kiss to the little purple mark I had made on the crook of his neck and smiled at him. "There. Much better."
(Random time skip because I don't wanna have to bump the rating up to M lol)
-
When I woke up, I realized I was lying in bed with Gray nestled safely in my arms, a blanket covering both of our still forms. He was still sound asleep, so I pressed a gentle kiss to his pale forehead, smirking when I saw how marked up his neck was. He was gonna have to wear one of his turtle-neck shirts in order to conceal all the little bruises that practically screamed "Natsu was here".
"Oh, Snowflake..." I murmured, as the memory of last night came flooding back to me. He had done so good for me, despite the fact he was definitely a virgin. For whatever reason, I was so proud to have been his first time.
"Natsu?" Gray cracked one eye open and gave me a curious look.
"Yes, my love?" I pressed our foreheads together.
"Thank you. I love you." he replied, pressing a gentle kiss to my collarbone, making me blush.
"You're welcome, angel. I love you too." I buried my face in his silky hair. "We have to get up soon to go to that party..." I added, a bit reluctantly.
Gray groaned in annoyance and plunked his face into my chest. "Nooo..."
I laughed softly and held him tighter. "I guess we can stay like this for a few more minutes..."
To be continued...
