Chapter 13

Part 1: System Error

It was a bright, cool winter day in Sakura New Town. There were small fireworks popping and balloon floating.

"Welcome to Sakura New Town 1st Annual VG3 Expo!" The announcer stated. "Here at the VG3, you can enjoy and hear about the latest, hottest video game coming soon in the near future, wonderful presentation by many of the world's renowned entertainment companies, and have a taste of the demo for some of the upcoming video games. We hope you enjoy your stay at VG3 Expo."

"This is just awesome!" Keita said excitedly.

"So many cool video games to check!" Kuma started happily.

"I can't wait to look forward to trying out all of the new stuff if possible!" Kanchi added joyfully.

"This is going to be very fun!" Fumika remarked as excitedly as the three boys were. "Don't you think so, Ken?"

Ken was invited by his friends to the expo. He wasn't too interested in these kinds of stuff, but he didn't mind (and also certain Yokai he know suggested him to go so much that he decided to do so just for her to shut up).

"Yeah. It looks pretty excited," Ken said with a fake smile.

"Let's go inside!" Keita announced as everyone agreed.

They passed through the security checkpoint with each of their ID badges. When they were inside the expo, they were surprised and excited to see all kinds of things inside the expo. There were booths of many video game companies, offering a demo to play their latest video games, merch, and cosplayers of different video game characters.

"My, my! What a big and busy place this is! There are just so many people here who like video games," Yuray commented.

"I really don't like this kind of crowd. I rather stay home and read books," Ken muttered.

"Wow! Cool!" Keita exclaimed as he looked at the new video game that took his attention. "It's the new Fighting game I wanted, and the demo is available! Hey guys, check it out! There are two controllers here and we can test it out!"

The group gathered at the front of the TV. They decided to take a turn. First was Keita versus Kuma. Kuma won the fight, so Kachi went next. Kachi was also defeated.

"Yipee! I am invincible!" Kuma boasted. "Who's next?"

"Hey Ken, how about you try it out? I am not good into a fighting game," Fumika said.

"I don't know…," Ken replied.

"Come on, Ken. It's fun," Keita suggested.

"What's a matter, Ken? Are you afraid to be beaten?" Kuma teased.

"That's not nice to say, Kuma-kun," Fumika said, a bit offended.

"It's fine. I will play," Ken agreed as he took the controller.

The announcer in the video game began the round. Kuma attacked with his character, but Ken blocked and dodged his attack. He counter-attacked with a special move and used an air attack to lay some combo.

"Huh? What the?" Kuma asked as he was looking a bit worried.

Ken finished off with an ultimate move, defeating Kuma single-handedly.

"No way! I lost!" Kuma cried.

"Wow! That's impressive! I never have seen anyone done a combo like that!" Kanchi said, surprised.

"Wow, Ken! You never told us that you're so good at a video game!" Fumika said, impressed.

"It's really nothing. It's just easy to learn and know what to do, that's all," Ken explained.

'Geez! Ken is actually good at a video game and Fumika's looking at him that way! Dang, it!' Keita thought to himself, looking very displeased.

"Let me go next!" Ken declared.

"Huh? Um, sure," Ken said nonchalantly.

The new round began, but Ken defeated Keita very easily in less than a minute. Then, he asked for one more round but lost again. Then, he asked again and lost it again. They continued this for a dozen more times. Keita won and lost, but Ken won most of the rounds.

"Wow, Keita. Was that all?" Kuma laughed.

"That was really bad," Kanchi commented.

"Keita-kun, you are even average in playing video games," Fumika said. Her words hit Keita's heart painfully as he became darkened.

"I…. I…..." Keita cried alone as he sat at an imaginary corner of the wall as Ken, Whisper, and Yuray watched over him plainly.

"You know. With all these playing video games make me hungry," Kuma admitted as he rubbed his stomach while it growled.

"Me, too," Kanchi nodded.

"Let's take a break at the food corner," Fumika said. "What about you, Ken?"

"I guess so. You guys go ahead while I help Keita here," Ken stated.

The trio went first while Ken and Keita stayed behind.

"Come on, Keita. You don't have to feel that bad," Ken said, trying to cheer him up.

"One more round!" Ken demanded.

"How persistent you are!" Whisper commented.

Unknown to them, or anyone else, one of the video game machines played by other people started to not working.

"What the? Hey, this thing got busted! It's not working!" the player said. The booth staff checked the machine when all of a sudden, the machine came to life and attacked the people.

"Kyyaaaahh!" One of the booth staff screamed.

"What the?" Ken and Keita looked over to see the started mayhem.

"What's going on?" Whisper asked.

"Look!" Yuray pointed at the machines as more of them came to life and began attacking the people.

"What the heck is going on?!" The convention staff asked.

"Security!" One of them yelled out. As soon as he did, the security came over, but they weren't strong enough to stop the machine. The video game machines in the convention began to come alive and started attacking people at other booths.

"Oh my! All the video game machines came alive and started attacking the people, and ruining the convention!" Yuray cried.

"This must be the work of a Yokai!" Keita claimed.

"What kind of Yokai would do such a thing?" Whisper asked as he looked over his Yokai Pad to find out.

"We don't know. We had to find it, but first, we need to help the people and our friends! Keita, can you handle the people while Yuray and I look for the Yokai?" Ken asked.

"Yeah! Leave it to me!" Keita agreed.

The boys went on their separate ways to deal with the problem. Ken used his Yo-Kai Watch at the machine, but nothing was detected.

"Nothing here…. Not even over here. Where could this Yokai possibly be?" Yuray asked.

"Attention, everyone." The speaker began to say. "Due to a technical difficulty, we are announcing emergency evacuation. We apologi…. brrerzzhahkaa… Attention, humans."

"That doesn't sound good," Yuray said, shaking in fright.

"This convention is now under my control and you will all become my slaves." The people heard the announcement, feeling terrified and confused.

"Where that announcement is coming from?" Ken asked.

"It must be coming from the telecommunication room of this building!" Yuray stated.

"Let's head there then," Ken decided as they did just that. When they arrived at the room, the door was locked and they couldn't get it.

"Oh no! The door is locked!" Yuray stated.

"But you can go inside," Ken said.

"Oh yes! That's right! I can go through walls!" Yuray remembered. "I will open it from the inside. Please hold on, Master Ken."

Yuray went through the door and opened it from the inside.

"It is opened, Master Ken," Yuray said from the other side.

Ken opened the door and found that nobody except them was inside the room.

"There is nobody here," Ken said.

"How could that be? The announcement is being played from here," Ken said as he used his watch to check all over the room.

Suddenly, the door closed by itself, trapping Ken and Yuray. Then, two hands came out of the screen, grabbed them, and sucked them into the monitor.

"Aaaaaahhhhh!" They screamed as they sucked into a completely different world inside the system.

"Where…. are we?" Ken said as he slowly gets up.

"Master Ken, are you alright?" Yuray asked.

"Yeah, I am OK, but where are we?" Ken asked as he looked around. They were appeared to be inside the convention building's network system. It was a wide space and the ground was a pattern of squares and the sky looked very cybernetic.

"Are we inside the computer system?" Ken asked.

"That's correct." They turned to the voice. Suddenly, in front of them, something appeared. A humanoid being with dark skin and yellow patterns with glowing yellow eyes appeared. Its head had two spikes, which resembled like a horn."

"Who are you? Are you the one who's causing this trouble?" Ken asked.

Wait, Master Ken, I think I know who this is..." Yuray said, looking at the mysterious Yokai carefully.

"You do?" Ken asked.

"Yes, yes, I realized it now! This Yokai is an Ignis!" Yuray exclaimed.

"An Ignis?" Ken looked at her doubtfully and confused. "Oh! Yuray, I think you watched too much of that duel monster card anime."

"Perhaps you are right, Master Ken," Yuray agreed, feeling a bit silly. "But this Yokai does look like an Ignis."

"Correction; I am not an Ignis or whatever you want to call me. I am a Yokai. I am Malware!" Malware finally introduced itself.

"Malware? Like a computer virus?" Ken said.

"Yes and no, but unlike most computer malware, I am a sentinel Yokai being and I am of the Horror Tribe," Malware explained.

Malware-Tribe: Horror, Attribute: Electric

"Horror Tribe?!" Both Ken and Yuray gasped.

"It's just like Inky and Shiro, and his gang!" Yuray pointed out.

"Why are you making those video game machines attack the people?" Ken asked in a fighting stance.

"As I said in my announcement, I want to make the humans I trapped in this convention my personal slaves and conquer the world, of course," Malware admitted as he showed with a malice look.

"Why would you want to do?" Yuray asked.

"Well, for you see, I was originally a normal computer virus created in a microchip that was used by hackers. However, my original creators were foolishly captured by the police and I was thrown away. However, an unknown power was given to me and I became a Yokai member of the Horror Tribe. With the power I was given, I shall cause havoc and chaos in the world as I see fit."

"That's insane. You can't away with this!" Yuray exclaimed. "Right, Master Ken? …. Master Ken?"

She noticed and gasped to see that Ken's body was glowing with a dark aura.

"I won't let you…. To get away with this! I won't let you hurt anyone!" Ken roared as dark aura glowed stronger within him.

"Hmmm? This power…. It is the same as mine…. It's just like they said," Malware mumbled before he spoke things loudly. "It's time for you all to be deleted!"

Ken showed off his watch, which automatically transformed into Yo-Kai Watch S.

"Oh no! It transformed into that cursed watch!" Yuray gasped. "Master Ken, don't use it!"

However, her cry was deaf to her master's ear. He inserted one of the medals he has with him into the watch.

"Come out, my servant. Brokalin! Yokai Medal, do my betting!" Ken exclaimed as shadowy aura enveloped from the watch and exploded into a stream of energy.

It's time to goth!

The watch began the summoning chant song for the Eerie tribe.

Gloomy, blaming, so, so sad!

Yet alarming, here comes Eerie!'

Brokalin appeared, but with a darker aura emanating from him. "Brokalin, destroy Malware!" Ken ordered.

"Yes, master…," Brokalin replied as he took out his sledgehammer and ratchet before he jumped over for an attack.

Malware dodged out of the way and shot electrical shock energy at Brokalin. Brokalin blocked the energy and jumped in with his hammer slamming on Malware. However, it didn't do much to the malicious Yokai, so it counter-attacked with its electrical attack.

"Come on, Brokalin! Finish him!" Ken yelled angrily.

"Master Ken, please stop! This isn't like you!" Yuray cried, trying to reason through him, but to no avail.

Due to Ken's anger, the dark aura around Brokalin became stronger and soon he began thrashing around.

"You have no power against me! I am invincible here!" Malware boasted until he recognized something. "Wait, what are you think you're doing? If you keep doing like that, then…!"

Suddenly, the cyber world began to glitch, indicating that it was breaking apart.

"No! If you keep breaking like this, the whole world will be destroyed here with us in it!" Malware warned.

"Oh my! That's terrible!" Yuray cried.

"Well, good for me is that I can leave you three here and I can escape easily. Since I can move freely through electricity, I can go anywhere I want as long as the electrical current exists," Malware stated as he snickered. "Enjoy your stay here!"

"Wait! Stop!" Yuray called out, but Malware escaped at the moment, leaving her, Ken, and Brokalin stuck in the cyberworld.

"Oh no! We are trapped here!" Yuray exclaimed as Ken and Brokalin didn't pay attention to what she said. Brokalin continued to break ground, destroying the world in the process.

"Master Ken, please! You got to stop Brokalin and get us out of here!" Yuray demanded as she tried shaking him to his senses.

"Aaaarrrrrr!" He roared mindlessly.

"There is no use. I can't get through to him! Is this really the end? Are we all going to….?" Yuray became hopeless when all of a sudden, a white portal appeared near them.

Through the portal came out Keita and Whisper.

"Ken! Yuray!" Keita called out.

"Mr. Keita! You found us, but how?" She asked surprisingly.

"We summoned Mirapo to help us find you! Now, let's get out of here before it's too late!" Whisper explained quickly.

"Rrrrrrrgh!" Ken roared before the dark energy dwindled down, causing him to faint and ultimately stopped Brokalin as well.

"Oh no, Master Ken!" Yuray cried.

- Yo-Kai Watch -

"Mmmmf…." Ken slowly opened his eyes, regaining his consciousness.

"Master Ken, you are awake! I'm so glad!" Yuray jumped in front of him, which scared him.

"Yuray!" Ken yelled.

"Oh, sorry if I surprised you, Master, but I am just happy that you are OK," she explained sheepishly.

"Where am I?" He looked around, noticing that Keita and Whisper were with him, too.

"Well, long story short, you got possessed by that Watch S," Keita explained.

"Yo-Kai Watch S…." Ken said. "Sorry, but I can't remember exactly what happened. Was Malware stopped?"

"Well, yes and no. You see, Master Ken, Malware had escaped," Yuray answered sadly.

"But the good news is that all the video game machine turned back to normal once Malware was gone," Whisper added.

"I see… Well, at least the convention is back to normal, I guess," Ken said, who looked a bit disappointed.

"Are you sure you're OK, Ken?" Keita asked.

"Yeah. I'm fine. I will be just fine," Ken assured.

However, deep down, he really didn't feel fine at all. He was rather disappointed and worried for himself. What's worse was this is the first time a Yokai got away from him, and he let it happen. He thought this was all his fault.

Part 2: Peace, Love, and Chillaxness

The day started not so well for Ken. In the morning, he spilled his own breakfast on himself. The sink didn't work to wash his face until the water shot all over his face. At school, he accidentally hit his head, tripped onto the floor, and stepped on old gum.

Ken was having a bad day and he had been feeling very upset, and mad than normal. When Ken came back home from school, he stomped all the way upstairs to his room and slammed the door, never talking with anyone.

Yuray and Lasagnyan noticed his behavior and they were worried.

"Wooo, Ken is mad as an angry bull! He looks like he's ready to erupt!" Lasagnyan exclaimed.

"I feel so worried for Master Ken," Yuray said. "His behavior and anger seem to be getting worse ever since he got that Yo-Kai Watch S."

"Right, Y'all," Lasagnyan noted while reading a magazine with the title, "Yo-Health for Ladies". "Ever since he got that watch from Nekomuseme, he is acting strange whenever he uses it. Even I can't exactly remember what happened when I was summoned when he used that strange watch."

"Exactly, but yes. I am very worried about Master Ken. If only there was something we can do to help him…." Yuray said, pondering on what to do.

The ghost maid noticed the cover of the magazine that Lasagnayn was reading on. The cover showed a short female with long, flowing blond hair, light-green skin, and yellow eyes.

"Miss Lasagnyan, may I see that magazine you are reading?" She asked.

"Huh? Sure thing," she said as she handed it to her.

Yuray quickly looked through the magazine until she stopped a certain page.

"Here it is! This is the way we can help, Master Ken!" Yuray stated.

"Really, Y'all? Are you sure about this?" Lasagnyan asked.

"It may be the only way and we got to try! I will call this number immediately!" Yuray declared.

About a day later, the weekend arrived. Ken stayed in his room all day long, never coming out as he really didn't feel like going out or seeing anyone.

Then there was a knock on his door.

"Master Ken, may we come in?" She asked.

"Go away! I don't want to see anyone! I want to be alone…." Ken said.

Suddenly, the door opened with a presence entering. Ken got out of his bed, ready to yell at Yuray for entering without his permission even though he said he didn't want to see anyone, but he was a bit surprised.

A different Yokai appeared. It was the same Yokai that appeared on the magazine cover. This Yokai wore a green headband with white flowers on it, light purple shades, tie-dyed T-Shirt, blue bell-bottoms with flowers, white sandals, and a necklace with a peace sign emblem. The most interesting part of her was she was on a floating purple pillow.

"Master Ken, please meet Miss Chillax." Yuray introduced her.

"Hey man. How are you, dude?" She said softly.

Chillax-Tribe: Heartful, Attribute: Restoration

"Who is this?" Ken asked, looking annoyed.

"She's here to help you, Partner," Lasagnyan answered. "Chillax here is going to help you to make you feel better."

"I don't any help! I am fine as it is," Ken answered rudely.

"Oh, don't be like that man. I won't do you any harm. I am here to help you find your inner peace," Chillax said with a peace sign.

"I said I don't need help!" Ken said angrily.

"Now, let us begin your first lesson," Chillax said, not even listening to Ken.

A little minute or two later, Ken somehow got out of his room and was outside in the backyard, sitting on the meditation mat. Yuray and Lasagnyan also joined in.

"Our first lesson to begin is a very simple meditation," Chillax said smoothly.

"This is ridiculous," Ken bickered.

"Now, close your eyes." Yuray and Lasagnyan closed their eyes. Ken rolled his eyes, but he did it anyway, though still feeling annoyed.

"Now, breath in deeply, but slowly. Then, breath it out slowly as well. Do this a couple of times. Just breath in, and then breath out. If something comes up in your mind, whatever it is, let it come through and let it go," Chillax said.

As Ken breathed in and out slowly, he felt a strange sense of calmness. Suddenly and even more strangely, many dark thoughts came through his mind. He felt uncomfortable, sad, and then angry. Then, he heard Chillax's voice, hearing her last quote.

"If something comes up in your mind, let it come through and let it go…" Her soft voice echoed in his mind.

Ken allowed the thoughts to come into his mind, and then he let it all go away until his mind was clear of any thought.

"How do you all feel now?" Chillax asked.

"Why, it felt great!" Yuray commented.

"I felt like I was in a relaxed dream…" Lasagnyan said.

"And what about you, dude?" Chillax asked Ken.

"Well…. It did feel relaxing. I feel…. Calm now, much calmer," Ken said honestly.

"Good, good. You are now on the path to inner peace," Chillax said. "However, this is only the beginning. Now, we will move on to the next step."

Suddenly, something fell from the sky and crashed over the backyard. Ken and his Yokai pals jumped over, surprised by the sudden crash of whatever landed that almost crushed them.

"What the?!" Ken gasped.

"Aaaaa! It is me, Mad Mountain!" A voice belonged to a Yokai who appeared. It was he who crushed down from the sky.

This Yokai had a body of the mountain that looked like Mount Fuji. He wore a kesho-mawashi, a special silk belt over by higher-ranked sumo wrestlers.

"This is my friend, Mad Mountain," Chillax said calmly.

Mad Mountain-Tribe: Tough, Attribute: Ice

"He will help you to see what you learned from your lesson. Let us see if you can stop him from destroying your house while staying calm and not getting angry at all," Chillax said.

"Say what?!" Ken gasped while Yuray and Lasagnyan looked shocked.

"Miss Chillax, are you sure about this?" Yuray asked.

"Oh, don't worry. Though, you should be more concern about my friend as he is now starting to wreck the living room," Chillax said, pointing to the living room.

Mad Mountain already started destroying stuff in the living room. He was smashing every pottery, punching all the dishes, and flipping over the tables.

"Aaaaah! I am so mad this morning!" Mad Mountain yelled.

"Hey! Stop that!" Ken yelled.

"Aaaaaaaargh!" Mad Mountain continued to rampage the living room.

Ken couldn't believe his eyes. The anger inside him started to boil up. The Watch S on his wrist started to glow in dark aura.

"Master Ken, no! Remember!" Yuray stopped him for a moment. "You have to stay calm! Just like what Miss Chillax taught you!"

Ken stopped and remembered his lesson. He started with a deep breath in and breath out. He looked at the situation.

"Yuray, I need the Yo-Kai Watch, my original one," Ken said.

"Yes, sir!" Yuray said as she danced around and then kiss the Watch S, turning into his original watch.

"I summon Purangel! Yo-Kai Medal, set on!" Ken inserted the medal for Purangel, summoning her to stop Mad Mountain.

"Imaginary! Incendiary! Flip flop, squiggle boom, slim slam, Legendary!"

"Purangel!" Purangel appeared.

"Purangel, I need your help in stopping Mad Mountain from destroying the living room," Ken said.

"I'm on it!" Purangel said as she flew over to Mad Mountain.

"Aaaaaaaaahhh!" Mad Mountain roared as he was holding a chair over him.

"Hello, could you please stop ruining my friend's living room? Pretty please?" Purangel gave off a kind, light aura, which actually calmed down the mad Yokai.

"Arrrr….. OK," He said much calmer, putting down the chair.

"You did it, Master Ken! You stayed calm and managed to stop Mad Mountain without getting angry!" Yuray praised her young master.

"Good, good. You finally found your inner peace," Chillax said. "And for that, here is a little gift from me, dude."

She gave him her Model Zero medal.

"Um, excuse me?" Ken looked over to Mad Mountain. "I would like to give my medal to."

Mad Mountain also handed him his own medal as well.

"Great job, partner. You got two birds in one stone today," Lasagnyan commented.

"Yeah…but….." Ken looked over the destroyed living room. "We better clean this room or else my mom will get mad!"

"Mad….Mad? MMAAAAAAAAAADDDDD!" Mad Mountain roared.

"Oh no!" Yuray gasped.

"Here we go again," Lasagnyan said.

"Relax, dude. Just chill," Chillax said calmly.

"I will handle it!" Purangel stated.

"Great…" Ken mumbled.

Meanwhile, safe from a distance, Fang watched over Ken and his friends, and allies.

"So, he didn't use the Watch S this time. However, just staying calm won't stop him from using it," Fang said as he snickered.

Hello, everyone and Happy New Year! Or rather I say, happy first weekend of the New Year!

It's been very, VERY long time since I updated this story, but here it is, the brand new chapter in a brand new year!

With new stories I made last year and just up, and down interest with this series, I decided to come back!

I wanted to start slowly with this story, so the update time may be sporadic and not constantly, but I will do my best.

This chapter introduces another new Horror Yokai, Malware, an evil virus Yokai that has the ability to hack into computers and other electronics. Unfortunately, Ken couldn't stop this Yokai and let it escape due to the corruption by the Yo-Kai Watch S.

In second part, we meet a new OC Yokai, Chillax and original Yokai from the real series, Mad Mountain! Chillax and Malware are created by johannvanguard.

Next time in chapter 14, we will see what Fang is up to next, and also the start of the new Yo-Kai Watch shorts! Until next time, guys and gals, I hope you all have a wonderful day. Peace!

Recap Time

Yuray: So Master Ken, who did you meet today?

Ken: Malware, Chillax, and Mad Mountain!

Ken, with his Yokai maid, Yuray and his partner, Lasagnyan, were relaxing in the kotatsu table with Chillax floating around.

Ken: I am still mad that Malware got away.

Lasagnyan: I can agree with you that, Partner. That fool won't get away next time!

Yuray: Perhaps so, but we should use our calmness and look at the situation, and plan out if he or any new enemy appears.

Chillax: Just chill, man.

Ken: You are right, Yuray. I won't let my anger to get in my way ever again. I just hope our next fight with whoever won't be anything too stressful.

Yuray: If something happens, Master Ken, I will support you 100% and won't let anything bad happen to you!

Lasagnyan: That's the spirit and so will I!

Ken: ... Thank you, guys.
