X-wings roar across the sky, blasting and dodging the Tie Fighters and their blasts. Cass, Han, Rey, Finn and Chewie run out into the snow, stopping to watch the battle in the sky. They all turn to each other, determination in their eyes. "They're in trouble. We can't leave." Cass says, looking at the odd group she's with.

"Chewie here has a bag full of explosives." Han says. "Let's us 'em."

The group split up, Cass opting to go with her dad and Chewie, having had a bad feeling about leaving her dad. It was extremely dark near the oscillator structure, but they still managed to spot three security Stormtroopers approaching a maintenance hatch. Chewie takes out the middle one with his Bowcaster. The remaining Stormtroopers lifted their weapons, but Han and Cass were quicker and took them out with deadly aim. They looked at each other with a signature Solo smirk before they kept moving.

In a nearby junction station, Rey opens a service hatch. Finn behind her, as she reaches into the mechanics of the place, and yanks a piece of tech from the machinery.

As Han, Cass and Chewie walk down the hall, the hatch a few feet in front of the opens. Having been on the lookout, they step inside with their weapons poised. Chewie moans. "That girl knows her stuff." Han says.

"Yeah she does." Cass smiles, proud of her new friend.

Once Cass, Han and Chewie hit the main floor of the Oscillator, they divide the explosives. "We'll set the charges at every other column." Han says in a hushed tone. He moans to Han, who looks around, reconsiders. "You're right. That's a better idea." He checks the detonator. "You and Cassie take the top. I'll go down below. Detonator." He hands it to Chewie. "We'll meet back here." He nods at Chewie and gives Cass a quick kiss on the forehead, then they head off in opposite directions.

Han finishes placing an explosive. Checks he's all-clear and hurries down to the next level. Chewie and Cass climb up a level to place more explosives.

A squad of Stormtroopers snap to attention as Kylo Ren approaches. One Stormtrooper hits the controls and the huge door opens. Without hesitation, Kylo walks into the Oscillator. He comes to a stop and scans the structure. Sensing something, he motions the Stormtrooper squad upwards. "Find them." He commands. They rush past him. Kylo Ren turns slowly, and heads down the bridge.

The Stormtroopers move up the ramp, weapons ready, checking each corner. They come around to the next level and pass a vent. Once they've passed, Chewie and Cass let out the breaths they've been holding, as Cass plants another explosive.

Han finishes setting a charge and is about to move on when he hears something and conceals himself behind a support beam. He peaks around the edge and his demeanor changes. He sees Kylo Ren appear and stops at the railing, looking down into the filter. Han looks at his son, his face displaying a rush of emotions.

Kylo Ren heads directly toward where Han is hiding, he has an increasing sense of Han's presence as he moves closer. He feels his sister's presence as well, but she wasn't as close.

From his hiding place, Han watches his son pass by, only a few feet in front of him. He watches as Kylo Ren turns onto a flat bridge that crosses the open space.

Unaware of his father, Kylo Ren walks purposefully across the bridge, the clanking of his boots receding. This is Han's opportunity to escape but Leia's words echo through his mind. He makes a decision, and moves out, to the edge of the catwalk. He shouts at him, "Ben!"

The name echoes around the oscillator as Kylo Ren stops, far across the large catwalk. He turns. "Han Solo. I've been waiting for this day for a long time." Finn and Rey make their way into the space, opening a hatch that allows a beam of sunlight to shine down like a spotlight on Han and his son.

Finn and Rey see Cass at a nearby railing, looking down, and they run to meet her. They can see Han and Kylo Ren on the catwalk below.

They hear Han speak. "Take off that mask. You don't need it."

"What do you think you'll see if I do?" Kylo Ren retorts.

Han moves toward Kylo Ren. "The face of my son."

Kylo Ren takes off his mask. Han is shaken and Cass gasps. This is the first time they had seen Ben grown up. "Your son is gone. He was weak and foolish, like his father. So I destroyed him."

"That's what Snoke wants you to believe but it's not true. My son is alive."

Kylo's face flares. "No. The Supreme Leader is wise."

Han moves closer, speaking sternly, "Snoke is using you for your power. When he gets what he wants, he'll crush you - you know it's true."

Kylo Ren hesitates, like he knows it's true. "It's too late.":

"No, it's not. Leave here with me. Come home. We miss you."

Kylo seems truly conflicted. Tears flood his eyes, yet they remain stoic. "I'm being torn apart. I want to be free of this pain." Han takes a step toward his son but stops himself. "I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it. Will you help me?"

Han hears the pain and vulnerability in his son's voice. "Yes. Anything."

Kylo Ren unholsters his lightsaber and slowly extends it to Han. Han almost can't believe it, yet Cassandra watches nervously. The moment seems to last forever. And just then, the beam of sunlight shining through the hatch vanishes. Han actually smiles, and reaches out for the dark weapon. But, with the light now gone, the darkness returns to Kylo Ren's eyes, and without blinking he ignites his lightsaber. The fiery blade shoots out, right through Han's chest.

"Thank you." Kylo says simply.

Above them, Finn gasps, "Solo."

Rey screams "No!"

Cass screams, before a dark look comes over her face.

Han's last moments are spent looking into his son's face, before glancing up at his daughter. Han's knees buckle, and Kylo Ren extinguishes the blade, letting Han fall off the catwalk into the deep, dark depths of the structure.

Back on the Resistance base, Leia feels it instantly and falls back into a seat, devastated

Kylo Ren is somehow weakened or horrified by what he's just done. His shock is broken only when Chewie cries out in agony and furiously fires his Bowcaster at Kylo Ren, hitting him in the side. Kylo Ren falls back, stunned.

Stormtroopers begin to fire at Chewie, who retreats down a corridor and presses the remote, igniting the explosives. As the bombs go off, the catwalk falls, and the walls begin to cave in. Kylo Ren spots Rey, Finn and his own sister. They spot him moments later, having been distracted by the explosions. Cass practically growls at the sight of her brother, her eyes flickering yellow. "Ben!" she shouts.

He rises to his full height and heads for them in long strides. Stormtroopers begin to shoot at the three, as Rey and Cass retaliate. Cass turns to Rey and Finn, "Go!" she shouts.

"Not without you!" Rey shouts in return. Not knowing what else to do, Finn wraps an arm around each of them and drags them out of sight.

From a distance the oscillator is ablaze from the explosives. Finn and Rey appear, coming up a hill. "The Falcon's this way." Finn says. Cass was trailing behind, on the lookout.

Kylo Ren moves through the trees, stopping as he feels the presence of the Resistance fighters. He takes out his saber, ignites it. About thirty feet away are Rey and Finn, facing him. Rey is armed with a Stormtrooper sanctioned blaster, as Finn holds Luke's lightsaber from Takodana. Kylo Ren sneers at them, "We're not done yet."
