Chapter 15- This can't be happening.

Joslyn's POV-

"What do you mean 'You're sick too?' You can't be..." I said as I picked up Rayna and I lay her down on a couch.

"I mean that whatever grandma was sick with, was contagious and we got it." Mom explained.

"That can't happen! Our kind doesn't get sick. Our kind can't catch a sickness from someone else. Our kind doesn't die from natural causes. We're supposed to last forever! This isn't possible!" I yelled, tears starting to roll down my cheeks.

"That's what we thought too, but we were wrong. But, listen guys... the chances of us living through this are very slim... so we probably won't see each other again. You guys, under no circumstance, can you come see us, we don't want you getting sick. Do you understand?"

"Yes, we understand." Simeon said, speaking for all of us because he already knew our answers.

"I'm really sorry that this is happening to you guys and we can't do anything about it. You guys didn't want this, but it's happening, and we have no choice. Stay with the Cullen's for a while. Maybe until Jaelyn and Joslyn turn eighteen. I asked Carlisle, and he said you guys can stay as long as you need. The Cullen's will help you, please take their help. You're going to need it." Mom said.

"Yes, mom. We will." Jaelyn said.

"Good. I have to go now. I'll talk to you guys later, ok?" Mom asked.

"Ok, bye mom." I hung up.

Rhys came over to me and sat on my lap before he asked, "what happens now?"

"I'm not sure, buddy. I'm not sure." I whispered the last part. I gave him a reassuring smile and hugged him. I didn't know what was going to happen, but it probably wasn't going to be good. I just wish there was some way we could stop it from happening. But there isn't.

"Are we going to live here now?" Rhys asked.

"Well, mom said that Carlisle said that we can stay as long as we need. So, we either might stay until Jaelyn and I are eighteen or we might live with family." I said.

"Ok, I guess that makes sense." Rhys whispered and I heard his voice crack when he said 'sense' and could tell he was about to cry. I picked him up and brought him into his room. Jaelyn picked Rayna up and brought her to her room. Jaelyn and I came back downstairs and sat with everyone. Simeon went to Rhys's room to try and comfort him the best he could.

Alice sat down next to me and hugged me before she said, "I'm sorry about your grandma and parents."

I weakly smiled at her and said, "It's alright. It's not your fault."

"I know it's not my fault, but it shouldn't be happening to you guys." She sadly smiled.

"Well, we don't really have a choice. There's nothing we can do. Simeon doesn't know anything about it, so we can't prevent it from happening. And my grandma probably didn't catch it from anybody because no one else has had this disease, so any one of us could get it and we wouldn't be able to stop it." My voice cracked at random points.

"It's going to be ok, Jos, it's got to get better at some point. It just has to." Jaelyn said to me as much as herself. She sat down on the other side of me and hugged me, so now two people were hugging me at once.

"But what if it doesn't? What will we do when we have no family left because they all die from whatever disease they have? What will we do then?" I asked.

"We will figure it out when we get there. For now, try and stay healthy. We'll do all we can to help you guys." Esme said.

"Thanks, Esme." Jaelyn said.

"don't thank me! It's the least we could do with what you guys are going through!" Esme said.

I smiled at her. "We'll thank you anyway. You guys are doing so much for us. How could we not be thankful?"

She smiled and said. "I'm going to start making some dinner, ok?"

"Ok. What are you going to make?" I asked.

"I was planning on making lasagna if that's ok?" She replied.

"That sounds great, thanks Esme.".

Later that night, after everyone was in bed, I silently cried until I fell asleep.

'what's going to happen? Are we all going to die?' I thought. 'No. We aren't going to die. We'll do everything in our power to make sure that we don't die.'
