Darkseid of the Moon
Themyscira
Twelve: Trinity
.
An over-excited blonde woman in a black top and red pants bounced around a large jet until she reached the cockpit where a millionaire bombshell sat. The blonde youngster froze at the sight of her mentor's gaze. The teenager retired to her seat next to the princess, "Sorry," she apologised.
Diana stood up, towering over Cassandra at over six-feet-tall, "Nothing to be sorry about, this will be your first time in the Themyscira, where you'll be greeted as a demigoddess, daughter of the great Zeus."
The starry-eyed Cassandra leapt off her seat and flew into the next room, "Can you imagine? Me, the daughter of a Greek God, I can't wait to tell my friends."
"By friends, I'm hoping you mean the other superheroes."
Cassandra landed, "Of course, I don't really have many other people I can call friends. Bulging muscles on a woman don't really attract many guys, you know," she placed her hands on her hips. Diana nodded.
"Good, boys are a distraction… I had to learn that the hard way, it's better if you focus on your training."
The young woman's lips pursed into a pout at the thought of training, "Training? What training? With Conner and Kara gone, I was pretty much the strongest member of the team, and with the Bat Family gone I'd argue I was the smartest too," Cassie flexed her muscles, physical and mental.
"That's cockiness, Cassandra."
"I'm not wrong, you're the woman who's beaten both Superman and Batman, and since I'm your mentee it only makes sense that I could probably beat the Supers and the Bat Family, it's just some logical thinking."
Diana walked over to the control panel to pick up a mug of coffee, "No two battles are the same, Cassandra. I've defeated Kal-El and Bruce, but there's also been times when they've beaten me… you can never take a chance on the battlefield."
"You're too much of a fighter these days, ma'am. It's always training this, Batman that."
"Right now, training is more needed than ever. Superman is dead, the same Superman that could move the earth off its axis with a few pushes is dead, and his murderer is somewhere out there. For all we know he could already be in Themyscira massacring our sisters," Cassandra froze.
"Oh come on, the strongest, most elite unit of warriors besides the Green Lantern Corps can't be taken down by one dude."
Diana folded her arms on top of one another, "I don't know… there was something about that man that wasn't right…" she lifted her head to stare into Cassie's innocent blue eyes, "If you ever come across an enemy anywhere near his level, I want you to run and call me, okay."
Cassie took a step back at the sudden rise in seriousness, "Geez, yeah, of course, Diana."
"I don't know what I'd do if I lost you, Cassie… after what happened to Donna…"
Cassandra raised an eyebrow with hands on hips, "Who the fuck is Donna?"
"Language!"
"Whom the fuck is Donna?"
"Cassandra Sandsmark!"
The blonde cackled.
The ship rattled.
"What's that?" Cassie wondered.
"The ship's cloaking mechanism just activated, we must be nearing Themyscira."
"Ah yeah, Them… Them… Themys – ah! I bit my tongue," Cassie groaned.
"Soon enough it'll be rolling off that tongue, come, buckle up," Diana jumped into the pilot's seat as the large Amazonian island drew nearer. Cassandra took up a seat next to her mentor. She threw her seatbelt over her shoulder to clip it in.
.
"Diana!" a group of muscular women flocked to the massive heap of metal as it came in for an uncloaked landing. Diana hopped out of the pilot's seat and got to the door before Cassandra had even unbuckled her seatbelt.
"Why so excited?" the blonde warrior queried.
"Themyscira is home, currently, mine, soon enough, yours. Next time we come here it'll be you jumping out of your seat like-," the black-haired goddess was ripped out of the plane by a meaty pair of arms.
"Diana, you've been gone so long," the older woman with similarly beautiful black locks grinned with a younger Amazon in her hands.
"Queen Hippolyta, it's good to see you again," Diana stood on her own two feet before making her way through the crowd of deities dressed in heavenly white robes, as she passed, she named a few thinking Cassandra was still behind her, "Antiope, Artemis, Nubia, all of you, you're all here."
"Yes, what did you expect, none of us have that brave adventurous soul you have," Hippolyta laughed.
"Or rather, all of us would much rather prefer to keep this place a secret from the World of Man," Artemis said passive-aggressively.
"And who's this?" Queen Hippolyta turned to the stairs leading out of the jet to see Cassandra stepping down.
The rambunctious slapped her fists against her hips and yelled, "Cassandra Sandsmark, but my friends call me Cassie."
"Is this the daughter of Zeus?" Queen Hippolyta pondered.
"Damn straight!"
Diana yanked the blonde closer, "Yes, she's lived all her life in the World of Men, but now she's home amongst the Amazons."
"Amazing… Agave, show Cassandra to her new room," the taller woman turned to Diana, "How long will you be here?"
"We're thinking of just staying a week, the World of Men needs us now more than ever."
"That's not a problem, a week is more than enough time to get some Themyscira dirt on you… Agave!"
A young blonde woman floated down from a tall marble building. She landed in front of Cassandra. Their blue eyes met, "Hey," she greeted the fellow young adult.
"After you drop off Cassie's bags here, suit her up for a quick combat session. Cassandra, when was the last time you got down and dirty?"
Cassandra eyed Diana, "Don't answer that! Not in that way, at least!"
"In what way?" Queen Hippolyta asked. Diana brushed the question off. None of the Amazons picked up on innuendo, so Diana shrugged before answering it for them.
"There were some sexual undertones in your question, my Queen. Cassandra has gotten used to the copulation methods of the World of Men, so that's probably why none of you would understand."
Cassandra raised a hand, "Hold up, on a whole island of women, how do y'all make more children?"
Agave answered that, "Oh, that's simple, we raid ships full of men, have sex, kill them, then throw their bodies into the ocean."
"Christ!" Cassie turned to Diana, who shrugged like she'd heard this over a hundred times.
"You said it yourself, Cassie, besides the Kryptonians, we're the strongest warriors on earth, we've got no time to marry."
"Yeah, but kill them, seems kinda hardcore bros," Cassandra realised.
"The Amazons are the earth's protectors, not their lovers," Agave explained before grabbing the Sandsmark's wrist and leading her through the ancient streets of Paradise Island. Reflective white plaster houses stacked on top of each other with clotheslines hanging clothes and armour plates alike; cobblestone pathways lined the floor giving comfortable traction for the women in Greek sandals; Cassie looked up at each woman as they walked past with abnormally large muscles and imposing exposed six-packs.
"Damn," was the only thing she could muster as she was led up a flight of stairs into a large white concrete building held up by tall white columns. Agave flicked the large marble doors open. They creaked to reveal a group of young women in white robes.
"Agave, so much aggression," a brown-haired woman sprung to her feet.
"It's not aggression, Hippothoe, it's strength," the blonde flexed. She remembered Cassandra was at her side, "Oh yeah, ladies, this is Cassandra, she came from the World of Men. Cassandra, these are some of the younger Amazons."
One-by-one, the women stepped up to give the muscular blonde a hug.
The closest brunette introduced herself, "My name's Hippothoe, daughter of Poseidon."
A purple-eyed brunette approached, "I'm Erica, daughter of Athena."
Another blonde, this one with piercing orange eyes introduced herself, "I'm Phoebe, daughter of Mercury."
The second-to-last woman, a redheaded beauty with brown eyes, gave Cassie a hug before saying, "My name's Astraea, daughter of Apollo."
The last and most beautiful of the group stepped up and allowed Cassandra to shake her silken gloved hand, "My name is Harmonia, daughter of Aphrodite."
Agave turned to the blonde, "Oh yeah, by the way, I'm Agave, if you didn't know already, I'm the daughter of Zeus."
"Daughter of Zeus?" Cassie's eyes widened.
"Yep, what? You thought you were the only one?" Agave grinned, "Now then, let's prepare you for a combat session."
"Combat? Now we're speaking my language," Cassandra's fist met her open palm.
Agave smirked, "It won't be for long…"
