Leah's POV
April 18, 2015

I stood outside the building where my senior prom was being held. My hair was curled, I wore a sparkly, white and gold dress, and gold heels wrapped around my feet. The locket Jungkook gave me hung around my neck, holding the picture of us in it. I really wanted Jungkook to be here, but I knew he was busy with his idol schedule.

He had promised me he'd take me to my prom as my date, but unfortunately his schedule got hectic; so here I was at prom without a date.

My white rose corsage was still in its case. Jungkook had bought it for me, and I had bought his rose pin; but now it just seemed pointless.

Leah Christine, I scolded myself. You're gonna go into prom and have a great time with your friends, regardless if Kookie is here or not.

I was about to walk into prom when I heard my name being called from behind me. I turned around to see my friends Nia and Kaylee running towards me.

"Before you go in," Kaylee stopped me, her brown curls bouncing on her shoulders, "there's a guy here who's been asking for you."

"Who?" I asked.

"Come on," Nia smiled.

Both of them soon covered my eyes and began to guide me somewhere. My eyes were closed just in case they wanted to say "Open." Neither of them did.

Instead I heard a familiar, wonderful voice that said, "Hello, jagiya." I opened my eyes, and there standing in front of me was my Korean boyfriend Jeon Jungkook. He was dressed in a black suit with a black tie, his hair was combed nicely, and his adorable bunny smile was the biggest it had ever been. A bouquet of pink roses was in his hands, and the rose pin I bought him was showing off on his chest.

As if on instinct and nearly dropping my corsage, I rushed into his arms, his embrace warm and loving. I promised myself I wouldn't cry, but tears of joy were starting to emerge. It felt so good to have him here with me again.

"I've missed you, princess," he whispered in my ear.

"I missed you, too," I said as I pulled back from him, my breathing heavy from almost sobbing. "But I thought your schedule got busy."

"It did," he said as he gave me the bouquet, "but I made you a promise, Leah. I was not willing to break it."

"What about the rest of BTS?" I wondered. "Do you they know?"

"They know I'm here. Don't worry."

"Okay."

"Now, how about I put that corsage on you?" he suggested with a smile.

I handed the flowers to Kaylee and the box to Jungkook. He opened it up, took out the corsage, gave the box to Nia-who was taking pictures with her phone-, and slid the small bunch of flowers on my right wrist. He smiled, and then kissed my hand gently.

I could hear Kaylee squeaking in excitement.

"I also have something else for you, princess," Jungkook said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box.

"You've given me so much already," I told him with a chuckle.

"But this is a very special gift for a very special girl," he stated.

I took the miniature box from him and gasped in disbelief when I saw what he had given me.

"It's a promise ring," he said. "It has my birthstone, which is sapphire for September; and your birthstone for October, which is opal."

The tears were real this time. Kaylee and Nia were squealing and clapping as Jungkook slipped the ring on my finger.

"But why me though?" I asked as he wiped my tears away. "We're from two different parts of the globe. You're a famous K-Pop idol, and I'm just a girl from Baton Rouge, Louisiana."

He wrapped his arms around my waist, made eye contact with me, and said, "Because you're the only girl I truly love. There's a reason why I gave you this ring, and it's a sign that my heart beats for you, Leah. I love you."

"And I love you, too," I replied before he pulled me in for a kiss.

"Prom?" he asked after pulling away and offering his hand with a bow.

"Prom," I smiled as I took his hand.

I honestly couldn't have asked for anything more than to have Jungkook here with me. Yes, we live in two different parts of the world, but I knew I would get to see him on holidays or whenever he had some time off from his career. I loved him, and he loved me.

I don't think we would've spent just one day together if hadn't been there that night to serenade me on a park bench in the first place. That would be a day that would be a forever lasting memory.
