"Oh God" Speech
'Daichi" thought/ foreign language
"DIE!" Rage infusioned shout
"YYYaaaawwwwnnn Okay before we go any further can someone explain to me?" Daichi asked with a yawn currently walking through the kingdom streets Montmorency.
"Already I told you were going into town to get some supplies." Montmorency finger on her chin in thought. "Let's see we need cloth, potion bottles, herbs, dragon scales...
"Bullets." Daichi interrupted sending a glare to his 'friend' who had the decency to look sheepish.
"I said I was sorry, how I was supposed to know fire and bullets didn't mix."
"EVERYONE! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT! WHY DO YOU THINK I NEVER MIXED IT WITH MY FIRE! I MEAN YOUR SOME KIND OF ALCHEMIST EVEN YOU KNOW FIRE AND GUN POWDER DON'T MIX! How you convince kirche to help is beyond me!" Daichi shouted gaining the attention a bit of a crowd.
Turning to glare at the crowd "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT!" the familiar shouted causing the crowd to in a nutshell run like hell.
Choosing to ignore the outburst merely pulled him along "I believe Kirche just wanted to see if I could make flaming bullets. You said it yourself now to were going up against stronger opponents we need to either get stronger or more unpredictable." with a shoulder shrug the water mage began expecting some ingredients.
"And my hidden blade?!" he growled in annoyance.
"I think that was just bad luck. But it's what you get for trying to block an icicle sent by Tabitha." smug smirk gracing Montmorency's face which only grew at the annoyed look on Daichi's face.
While the blade itself was fine the gauntlet used to hold it was broken beyond repair making Daichi keep it in Kirche's room until further use. "I only have a clip left."
A while later the duo arrive at a familiar weapons shop.
"Hello and welcome to... Oh FOUNDER NOT YOU AGAIN!" the shop greeted only to shout in fear of the one that had caused him nightmares for weeks.
"Relax I just here to browse, got anything for long-range?" causally Daichi browsing the shelves longing for something that can give him an edge in battle.
With a nervous smile "Nothing unique just standard guns, crossbows and bows and arrows." sweat pouring down his face.
"Founder you are terrible, for a guy who sells shoty weaponry you'd think you'd have something illegal or cursed you know power at a terrifying cost!" when reading about these run down weapons shop in her books Montmorency expected them to have a bunch of evil and enchanted items. This definitely did not live up to her expectations.
Daichi and the shopkeep could only eye the water mage worriedly at her choose of words. Both feeling a certain way about the words they hearing. Deciding this had gone on long enough Daichi walked up to Montmorency before tossing her over his shoulder. "Were done here."
"Daichi! Let go I'm trying to help!" Montmorency ranted kicking and screaming as she was carried back into the streets.
"You know Kirche this morning I pulled Montmorency out of a weapons shop because she was throwing a tantrum. I did not fear the man but I've learned in my life that you should never piss off a man who serve you food or sells weapons for a living. I then had to spend two hour on a horse pretending to hear her bitch nodding my head every once in a while so she'd think I was listening. I miss that time and would prefer that to what we're doing now."
"What are you saying darling."
"Nothing just thinking out loud."
"While this isn't the time or place for that, Oh there coming back duck, duck."
The fire duo whispered to each other as they ducked behind a wall as the next patrol walked by. While today had started out simply enough all that changed when a number of robed figures invaded the academy taking a number of students, staff and even Louise's older sisters hostage.
If not for the sudden warning by Tabitha a number of students were able to avoid capture. With a plan to divide and the group of Saito, Louise, Seista, Daichi, Kirche, Tabitha, Guiche, Montmorency and a small group of miscellaneous number students split up to rescue and subdue.
While the miscellaneous students choose to "make a perimeter" of the area i.e hide and wait for this to blow over. The rest broke into groups that each took a different part of the school hoping to either find gap their enemies' defenses or save the hostages which ever came first.
"Okay so any ideas?" Looking around Daichi noticing there were only three masked guards roaming throughout the room. "We need some kind of distraction to get past these guys."
Undoing another button to her already revealing outfit Kirche rises to her feet. "Watch and wait for an opening."
Stuttering into the middle of the room with a sway of her hips with a low whistle she gathers the mercs attention. "Hello boys I just started school this week and I'm lost can one of you help me find my room?" Kirche innocently asked ironic that she switched between bending over and leaning back showing off her bountiful chest and behind. "I just woke up from a nap so I'm soooooo stiff."
Licking their lips in lust the trio of mercs became to approach the seemingly unsuspecting girl. Standing up straight, chest out with a cocky smirk "That depends in this room of yours does it have a bed?" the biggest one of the group asked as he closes in on the Zerbst.
"Hehe maybe?!" with a wink Kirche looked behind him to notice Daichi pulling an unconscious guard into a closet. "Wouldn't you like to find out."
With his smirk only growing the merc slowly leaned forward whispering into Kirche's ear something that made her eyes widen and her blood run cold. "Do you think that would work on me twice?"
"Vlad arm out!" the merc ordered to his companion who reacted just in time to clotheslined a speeded Daichi causing him while still in mid-air to do a backflip before crashing into a wall it didn't help that there was a bit of magic blasted into him increasing his crashing speed.
Daichi could only utter a weak groan while embedded in the wall.
"DAICHI!" Kirche attempted to go to his aid only for the merc to pulled her into a headlock. "Who are you!" struggling to get free to no avail.
"Hmm you don't remember me, not that I'm surprised." looking to the down familiar the merc sneered contempt. "So another fly made it's way into your web. Too bad he won't live to see the error of his decision, Vlad finish him."
"On it!" the one known as Vlad walked over to the downed Familiar picking him up by his arm. "Hehehe any last words?!" a vicious smile on his face.
With a weak nod Daichi only mumbled something so low it was inaudible.
"What?" moving his head closer to the familiar. The mumbling only slightly louder causing the merc to move even closer. "...I've been hit harder."
"Wait what...ahh" was all the merc could say before getting face full of fire causing him to drop the familiar to tend to his scorching face which only gave Daichi the chance to put him in a headlock only for Vlad to shot his head back into Daichi's head releasing the hold. Vlad the lounges at Daichi attempting to lift him up only for Daichi to clasps his fists together and swings down on the top of Vlads head releasing him giving him just enough time to send Vlad to the ground with a kick to the face. Now on the ground unconscious and blissfully unaware of Unnecessary pointed at his neck. "Well that worked out better then I thought it would."
"Okay admit it you did not plan that in the slightest?" the merc asked eyeing the familiar suspiciously not believing what he just saw.
"No way pure skill." Daichi responded cocky smirk while doing a finger gun.
"Bullshit." was the collective thought of everyone in the room that was conscious. With the moment gone Daichi's face took on a more serious look locking eyes with the merc. "So how about a trade."
Rather than respond the merc simply pointed his wand at his down ally before releasing a thin beam of energy into his head.
Daichi and Kirche could widen their eyes in shock at the ruthlessness. "Did you really think we actually care about each other like we're friends, we work together that it. And when one of us can't do the job we replace them with someone who can." he explained in a cold tone.
"What kind of monster are you!?" an enraged Kirche roared thrashing in the mercs arms. Say what you want about Kirche Von Zerbst but as a Germanian born citizen she was raised on the principle of loyalty. And an act of betrayal like this was one, one didn't take lightly.
With a smirk on his face the merc pushes Kirche over to Daichi as he pulled out a vial of red liquid. "I'm the monster you made." he said as he removed his mask. "Do you not remember?" he questioned smugly only for the smugness to be replaced with confusion at the blank look on the Zerbst's face. "Y-You do remember me right?"
"Remember what you, cause I don't think we've met before." Kirche said looking to Daichi for answers only to receive a shrug.
"How do you not remember me." the merc said to say the man could blend into a crowd was like saying the sky was green. A bald headed male whose face was riddled with a combination of scars and burn marks. Seeing that the red head still looked confused.
"It's Skylark you bitch!" he shouted causing Kirche's eyes to widen in shock.
"S-Sky!" a wide eyed Kirche exclaimed in shock at seeing her once lover who changed her life. "Founder what happened to you?!" Kirche shrieked in disgust at the once handsome man.
"You see...
"I mean you were so good looking, it's like you ran face first into a furnace!"
"It's because..."
"And then to get back you the fire tried stabbing at you!"
"YOU DID THIS YOU BITCH!" the now revealed Sky shouted in rage at the person responsible. Aiming his wand a ball of fire soars through the hall missing Kirche by the timely assistance of Daichi shoving her to the ground. "I had my whole life ahead of me, but after what you did everything changed I lost everything."
"Oh boohoo your free ride was over could get by on your good looks after what you did you deserve red it! Breaking a poor maidens heart the way you did!" Kirche shouted back ignoring the deadpan look Daichi gave her.
"Now is not the time for this." Daichi thought pulling Kirche away from another ball of fire.
"I had goals, plans and a future only to come crumbling to the ground thanks to you! After that I dropped out of school, causing my family to abandon me. I then resorted to crime in order to survive." he ranted firing off more golf ball sized fireballs.
"And all that because you lost your looks oh boohoo." Kirche cried sarcastically as Daichi continued to pull her to safety.
Rather than respond the once nameless merc grabbed the vial and ingested its contents. The moment this happened he began to howl in pain body twitching sporadically. As he shook his body began to grow larger as a pair of small nubs began protruding from his forehead and scales began forming onto his body.
"What the actual fuck!" the fire duo shouted together at the sight of creature before them.
Standing on its hind legs at 8 feet was a creature of pure nightmares. With the legs of a goat, dragon scales that armored the top half of its body with wings and the head of a horned lion. For what should have been a tail was replaced with a snake.
"Kirche w-what is that?" Daichi asked in shock not sure at what he was seeing.
Kirche just stood slack jawed at what was once her ex-lover was now creature that said to only exist in fairy-tales that is said to one of the strongest things to ever exist.
"Chimera."
Upon the completion of its transformation the beast howled to the heavens before charging the duo.
Quickly regaining their senses the duo quickly separated cause the beast to have to choose a victim that being Kirche who only ran faster in fright. Hoping to slow her ex down Kirche turned around wand out taking aim.
"Fireball!" was all she said as large ball of fire engulf the man turn beast. With a flick of her hair Kirche looked at the flames. "Hmph to easy getting that big must have taken away your brains."
That sense of safety was quickly dashed as the fire was dispersed as the appeared with a deep howl as it resumed its charge.
Hoping to get some distance Kirche reaimed wand "Smoke Screen!" before a dense black smoke engulfed the area. The chimera flew into the smog quickly losing sight of the fire mage just as something crashed into it but due to its large body it didn't feel a thing.
"Do you think that hurt it?"
"Darling you threw a chair at it, I shot fire at it trust me that didn't hurt it." Tapping her chin with her wand Kirche looks to her familiar. "Why don't you shoot at oooohhhhh..." Kirche began to ask only to go wide eyed once the words left her mouth.
Rather than respond Daichi drew his sword charging in a quickly as possible. Seconds later he returned after being swatted back by the beast. "Owww so any idea what is going on? One minute he's just your bitter ex the next he's some mix'em up monster." Daichi groaned out in pain.
"Chimera." Kirche corrected.
"Doesn't matter." Rising to his feet after grabbing his sword. Noticing the beast once known as Sky finally regaining its bearings engaged the two.
Rather than run again Daichi dashed forward to meet the charge head on sword one hand. Just before the two clashed Daichi's other hand shot out releasing the chain into the side wall pulling him just out of the way as his extended his sword leaving a shallow cut on the beasts front legs.
Hallowing in pain the beast was too distracted to notice the ball of fire hitting it only for it to shrug off the blast. Locking eyes with the one who caused this the beast attempted charge is halted when a diamond tipped chain embeds itself into the ground before it.
"Try something with precision AAAhhhh!" what was originally an order was replaced with shouts as the beast grabbed the chain and started to spin around taking Daichi for a ride.
"How's this for precision Fire Javelin!" Seconds later a sharp thin beam of fire shot out her wand at the mixed beast. The results were what you would expect with the beast while in the spin dodging the attack and the second throwing the chain with Daichi attached to it through a wall on the top floor.
"Daichi! Bastard!" Kirche shrieked before releasing a volley of fireball. The beast merely grab a table used it as a shield before throwing the table at the fire mage who tucked and rolled out of the way. "Smoke Screen!"
Hiding behind a couch Kirche began charging a levitation on a nearby lamp smashing it into the opposite wall drawing the temporarily blind creature away.
Looking in the direction of her wayward familiar she spots him drinking a potion before holding up a finger before running off.
"Okay think Daichi's run off somewhere, wide spread fire doesn't work and his smart enough to avoid anything small and piercing." Kirche thought to herself as she prepared to charge another blast.
That charge was replaced with a dodge as the man beast charged jumping out of the smoke. Kirche braced herself as the airborne beast descended down on her just as a blur crashed into it sending into the neighboring wall.
When the smoke cleared Kirche saw the beast being pelted with a barrage of flaming fists courtesy of her familiar currently fused with his pet/friend/companion thing. (There was never really a way to label the two.)
Daichi could only scream out in pain as the man turned Chimera bit into his armor clad shoulder as then snake tail did the same to his left wing before taking flight. Flying into the sky, the chimera spins around the room before flying high into the it then zooms back down, and tosses Daichi into the ground completely shattering what was left of his armor and the fusion.
"Daichi THREE WAY FLAME!" Kirche in fear running to her familiar as three spears of fire shot into the ground before erupting in the inspecting creature's face forcing it to jump back. Upon reaching her love Kirche felt around in his pocket. "Last one." she processed to pour the contents down Daichi's throat as the light green magic did its thing.
"Okay what's the plan?" asked Daichi looking more annoyed then hurt at this point this annoyance only increased as his summoner merely shrugged it didn't help that Killala took off the moment she got her wits about her.
"Okay I've tried being nice but fuck it time to cheat." with a growl Daichi reached for his gun only to freeze when he only felt air. "Seen my gun?"
"Uh it's by its foot or hoof." pointed out Kirche as they both looked at the creatures back left hoof.
"It's never easy is it love?" said Kirche as she jumped out of the way of the rampaging monster who quickly changed targets to her familiar.
"No it never is Red." Daichi responded as he ran over where his laid. Going to a tuck and roll he grabs his gun while lying on his back and releasing the entire clip into the incoming beast causing it to howl in pain as it fell to the ground.
But rather than continue to lie down the beast rose to its feet looking even more intimidating for no animal is more dangerous than the one that is injured. The beast's eye began to glow red as it entered what one could call a rage mode.
