Here we return to the adventures of Stryker. I want to ask you guys something. Is there Jurassic Park fanfics about ice age animals? I've looked before and hadn't found anything.
Anyway, this chapter is about them investigating the White Fang, and will lead to Stryker having his most challenging fight since arriving on Remnant.
Ch.13 Investigation Begins With Flames.
It was the next day and after class, the girls returned to their dorm and they along with Stryker got ready for the night that's about to begin.
"I thought that class would never end," Blake said as she wrapped a band around her wrists.
Ruby, who was sitting up on her bunk, seeing that everyone was in the room, began talking. "Alright guys, today's the day. The investigation begins!" She said the last part as she jumped off the top bunk, spooking Weiss. Stryker for his part was just watching the conversation roll on. He knew his part to play in this, make sure Blake doesn't get killed while she's spying on the White Fang. Seemed simple enough.
"I'm glad to see we're taking this seriously," Weiss said sarcastically.
Yang then spoke up. "Hey! We got a plan. That's... moderately serious."
"Right." Ruby said as she got down to business. "Everyone remember their roles?"
"You and I will head to the CCT and check the Schnee records for any other Dust robberies, or inconsistencies," Weiss started. "Seeing as I'm in the family, it shouldn't be a problem."
"The White Fang has regular faction meetings to hang out orders and recruit new members," Blake stated. "If I can get in, I can hopefully find out what they're planning."
Stryker then chuffed a few things, like he was asking Ruby something. "Yes, Stryker, you'll be shadowing Blake, making sure nothing bad happens."
Then it was Yang's turn to tell her side of the plan. "I have an old friend on the shady side of town that typically knows everything going on in Vale. Getting information out of him shouldn't be to hard."
Stryker rolled his eyes, it was the only time Yang actually brought him into town, he remembered how that went. It was like an all you can destroy buffet. The bat did come out of nowhere though.
"Great," Ruby said, "we'll meet up tonight with Yang to go over what we've found. Let's do this!"
That's when a new voice was heard.
"Yeah!"
They all turned and saw the man with the tail Stryker had seen with Blake. He was hanging outside the window by his tail, his arms and legs crossed like in a sitting position as he looked in. It took the girls by surprise.
"Sun!" Blake shouted in surprise.
Yang then asked in surprise. "How did you get up there?"
"Ah, it's easy," Sun replied. "I do it all the time."
"You do what?!" Weiss exclaimed.
Sun then replied casually. "I climb trees all the time."
Stryker just stayed out of the conversation for the most part, mainly because he couldn't talk. He just watched the proceedings go on. They were his best form of entertainment.
"So..." Sun started as he flipped into the dorm, "are we finally getting back at that Torchwick guy?"
"We," Blake said as she suggested to her team and Stryker, "are going to investigate the situation. As a team."
Ruby then proceeded to apologize. "Sorry Sun, we don't want to get friends involved if we don't have to."
"Pfft. That's dumb," the monkey Faunus replied. "You should always get friends involved. That's why I brought Neptune."
He gestured to outside the window to where the four girls and Indoraptor looked at and saw a blue haired boy around the girl's age standing on the ledge. "'Sup," he greeted, surprisingly not creeped out by the large predatory reptile that also stool its head out the window.
"How did you even get up here," Ruby asked curiously.
Neptune shrugged. "I have my ways. Seriously though, can I come in. We're like, really high up right now."
After letting Neptune in, they quickly restrategized. "All right. I'll go with Weiss. Sun, you can go with Blake. And Neptune, you can go with Yang since she doesn't have a partner."
"And what about the big guy," Sun asked, pointing at Stryker.
"He's going to be shadowing you from above in case things go south," Ruby answered absentmindedly. "Everyone good?"
"Actually Ruby," Weiss said, gaining her leader's attention, "why don't you go with Yang. After all she is your sister."
J
"But Weiss," Ruby replied. "Who would go with you then?"
Stryker inwardly chuckled. His little Ruby was still oblivious to attraction, it was a good thing for him. He didn't want to have to eat all the potential boyfriends... or did he?
"Well," Weiss started. "I guess Neptune could come with me." Stryker rolled his eyes amused by Weiss' not so subtle comment.
That's when Ruby laughed hysterically for a moment. "Nah," she said as she began dragging Weiss out of the room.
Later, Stryker was on top of buildings again, as he looked down below him to see Blake and Sun peek around the corner. They then enter the building that was being guarded. He had to either take the guard out or find his own way in. Fourtunately, Lady luck shines down on him as he noticed a window big enough for him to fit in.
He then leaps to the building and climbs up to the window. Seeing that it is closed, the hybrid then used slid his clawed hands under and forcefully, he pulled it open, allowing him to slip in. He balanced his large frame on the steel beams, greatful they were taking his weight.
The Indoraptor then searched for his comrades and quickly found them wearing those ridiculous masks. He then turned to the front of the room where a guy who seemed to be the leader spoke.
"Thank you all for coming," he said as he paced on the stage. "For those of you who are joining us for the first time tonight, allow me to introduce a very special comrade of ours. I can assure you, he's the key to obtaining what we have fought for, for so long."
Then out came Torchwick. To a lot of booing. Stryker would be to if he could and wasn't in a stealth mission right now. He could tell the man was hiding those scars, as he was wearing a few extra pieces of clothing. This made Stryker anxious.
"Thank you! Thank you! Please, hold your applause." Torchwick said sarcastically as the crowd jeered at him.
"What's a human doing here?" A random woman yelled out.
Torchwick smiled at the question. "I'm glad you asked, dearie."
Stryker growled. He didn't really like this man, and all he wanted to do right now is maul him senseless, unfortunately he has to remain hidden.
"Now, I'll be be first to admit, humans are the the WORST," Torchwick stated. "Case in point. So I understand why you want to see us all locked away, or better yet: killed!"
That made Stryker tense. If these creatures that smelled like prey dared tried to attack his girls, including Blake, he would personally send them straight to hell. Very violently for that matter.
Stryker kept to his thoughts until the curtain was removed and a giant mech was in it's place. That got Stryker in a stalking position. Something told him that before the night is over, he's going to have to fight that.
"As some of you may have heard," Torchwick began explaining, "this right here is Atlas' newest line of defense against all the scary things in the world. And thanks to my employer, we've managed to snag a few before they, uh, hit the shelves. Now, many of your brothers have already moved down to our new operations in the south east. If you'd rather stay within the city, that's fine. But if you're truly ready to fight for what you believe in. This is the arsenal I can provide you. Any questions?"
Then suddenly, the lights went dark, which gave Stryker his que and unleashed a terrifying roar. That started a panic as he leaped down, landing on several White Fang members as the prey scattered, but his sights were on one person in particular.
He was having ginger snaps tonight.
Only issue, he was already inside the powered up mecha suit and charging right after Blake and Sun, who just leaped out the window.
Torchwick charged right through the wall, with Stryker right behind him. He then leaped on to the back of the machine and started scratching and biting into the metal and wiring. "Stop that you overgrown iguana!" Torchwick yelled as he tried to grab the hybrid as they landed on the freeway.
Stryker wouldn't let go, but moved out of the way of the incoming electric blasts that from behind. He looked to see Yang and Neptune coming up from behind. Neptune then jumped off the motorcycle and stabbed his energy into the top of the mech, which only then started spinning.
Fortunately, Stryker given his claws managed to hold on, but Neptune wasn't as lucky. The blue haired boy was sent crashing into Sun, and the two went flying off the bridge.
Then on the front of the mech, Weiss was there and used her sword to ice over the road, which caused the mech to slip, which allowed Stryker to jump off as the robot went off the side of the freeway.
He landed on his feet though, right infront of Ruby, who was soon joined by the rest of Team RWBY. Torchwick smirked at this, that is until Stryker landed behind him, growling fiercely. Torchwick growled at the sight and turned to what he saw the bigger threat. "I owe you, you over grown pair of leather boots."
The Indoraptor's response was to roar at him from the top of his lungs. He knew Torchwick made one crucial error. He turned his back on Team RWBY.
"Freezerburn," Ruby ordered as they scattered, Weiss making another thing of ice, which Yang hit, making steam cover the area, giving them cover. This caused Torchwick to lose sight of the Indoraptor.
He started firing randomly as he then turned for 'Little Red' to strike him with her scythe before ordering. "Check mate! Stryker, get him from above."
Next thing the orange haired criminal knew, he had two swords attacking his legs and guns. Then the top of the mech got unbalanced again, thanks to the force Stryker put into his pounce as he continued to attack the suits wiring.
As he attacked the top of the suit, keeping Torchwick focused on him, Ruby and Blake managed to disarm him, quite literally. Yang then leaped up on top with the raptor and began rapidly punching the suit. Both attacks seemed to be doing something as the light inside with Torchwick was flashing red.
He then blasted back, slamming his two riders through a few columns before punching Yang, and then kicking Stryker.
Stryker then got up, but something new started, he had red aura glowing all over him.
"What's going on with Stryker," Weiss asked as her, Blake, and Ruby regrouped.
"I... I don't know," Ruby admitted as Stryker then growled at the machine. He mouth then opened, revealing a glow.
"No way-" Ruby started before a wave of beam-like fire shot out of his mouth, nailing Torchwick, who tried to block with his one arm. The fire was so hot though that it melted off the arm, and that left Torchwick vulnerable for a red eyed Yang. When he saw the red eyed blonde, Torchwick knew he was screwed as she broke the mech in three hits.
"Just got this thing cleaned," Torchwick said as he looked at the rubble that was once the mech. He looked and saw a red eyed Yang then send a shell that was coming towards him like a burning comet. It would have hit him if Neo, his second in command didn't jump in front of him, activating her umbrella and blocked the blow from landing.
"Ladies, Ice Queen, Murdurous Handbag," Torchwick said as the lady in pink stood beside him.
"Hey," Weiss snapped as Stryker growled in offense.
"Always a pleasure," Torchwick said before turning to Neo. "Neo, if you would." She then bowed as Yang and Stryker charged forward, Yang struck at Neo whole Stryker at Torchwick, but they turned to glass on impact. They then looked up and saw an airship with the two on them fly off.
The rest of Team RWBY regrouped with them. "So I guess he got a new henchman," the blonde brawler assumed.
"Yeah, I guess she really made our plans... fall a part," Weiss said, trying to use a pun, but only got blank stares.
Yang was the one to speak. "No. Just, no."
"What? But you do it!" Weiss said with hands on her hips.
Yang then gave her a serious look. "There's a time and a place for jokes."
"Was this not it?" Weiss asked.
Yang shook her head. "No, it just wasn't really good."
"Well, at least I'm trying," Weiss said as they walked off, leaving Ruby and Stryker.
Ruby then immediately hugged Stryker excitedly. "I can't believe you have a semblance!? How did it feel? Did it burn?"
As the silver eyed girl began talking a hundred miles an hour, Stryker just simply lifted her onto his back and followed the rest of the team. He didn't really know how he breathed fire, but one thing was for certain. He was going to enjoy burning his enemies to a crisp.
So... how'd you like what I did with the chapter. And yes, Stryker's semblance is breathing fire, I thought it would be cool moment to see a fire breathing Indoraptor.
Next chapter will actually be some kind of shock for Stryker. He won't initially see it... but he'll sure as hell smell it. Will it put him on edge? Or will it trigger instincts he never knew he had? You all will just have to see the next chapter, now will ya?
Anyway, don't forget to review and check out my profile for my other stories. Peace out.
