Emma decided not to tell anyone what had happened. Her guilty conscious nagged at her like a maggot. At least Job hadn't took the money, she drilled into herself. But deep down inside she knew she was just as guilty as Job was every time she looked at his punchable face.

John and Olivia had become fed up with Ham, Cora and Job as well. Cora was probably the most decent of the three of them, as you could actually have a proper conversation with her without arguing. Emma had accidently heard John say to Olivia that the three had to leave soon. They just couldn't keep them at the house when they had already took in Emma.

Emma had just finished reading the book that the sixth graders had to read for school. It had been an all right book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Considering it had been published thirty three years ago, it wasn't really that boring. Emma felt that she could emphasise with Dorothy, but she found the Tin Can man or what ever you called him annoying.

"How did you find the book last year, Mary Ellen?" Emma asked as she closed the book.

"I found it quite exciting. My favourite character was the bad witch what's her name." Mary Ellen smirked.

"Of course you would like her." Emma said, sarcasm dripping off her voice.

Mary Ellen shoved her. "Come on, you're taking too long." She took off running, Emma dashing after her.

That night at supper, Ham made a strange announcement. "We're leaving tomorrow morning." It took all of Emma's self control to stop her from screaming with happiness. Grandpa obviously couldn't control his, as he was trying hard not to smile.

"We'll miss ya." Olivia said softly, taking Cora's hand.

"We'll miss you too, Olivia." Cora smiled.

John Boy, Emma, Erin, Mary Ellen and Ben shared looks. Mabye it wasn't worth it to get Job into trouble. After all, he would be leaving tomorrow. John Boy shook his head discreetly at them.

"Job's gone he's gone he's gone!" Elizabeth scampered about, laughing.

"Yay." Emma muttered as she milked Chance. She was as excited as Elizabeth, but she had to milk this cow first before she could jump about.

Jim Bob walked in. "Hey Emma, was that story about the money that you told us once they left true?"

"Of course it was Jim Bob. I don't lie." Emma half smiled.

"That's true. She told me the truth when my kitten drowneded last year." Elizabeth said soberly.

Jim Bob rolled his eyes. "It's drowned Elizabeth, how many times?"
