I don't usually post on a daily schedule because I like to wait for everyone to catch up or review or whatnot. But I have been writing this since yesterday's morning and managed to finished this yesterday as well. And this entire week beside today I have mid-years exams, so I have to push this one up. Updates may or may not be frequently this week.
A few weeks passed. Kion have been extremely quiet to everyone and had nightmares that doesn't seem to end. Kiara usually stayed up to sleep with him and sometimes she stay up with him, until early morning making her tired that day, which makes Kion feel even worst as well. He tend to walk around in his sleep, short term sleepwalking.
But it's kind of a good thing... for atleast in the future. Kion having nightmares forces Kiara to comfort him and nevertheless bring them even closer. It's sweet but at the same time they wished it can just end.
On one particular night... well early morning, Kion was moving around in his sleep. "No!!! Kiara!" he cried. Kion opened his eyes and look to see it was early morning. He's trying to be tough but these nightmares are getting worse every day. Even, sleeping with Kiara is not comforting him as much as they used to.
Walking out, Kion crepted to the nearby watering hole and look down. He keep having these nightmares and it was getting just more brutal. He seems to be half of himself.
"Goodmorning, Kion." a feminine yet familiar voice had said, walking up beside him and sitting down just beside him.
Kion closed his eyes, he be seeing her alot in his dreams and usually she beside Kiara and Tiifu is the one who mostly brutalized and he felt like it is going to happen if he's not caution. "Goodmorning, Zuri." he sighed heavily.
"Sitting down?" Zuri smiled sheeplishly, playfully pushing him down, but he pulled her with him with her pinning him accidentally.
This tends to happen; sometimes she pinned him and other times he her. "Oh, so you notice?" Kion returned the smile with one of his own. "You are going to get off of me?"
"Yeah, when you behave." Zuri answered, giggling. Then she knew that kind of sounds wrong. Kion sees her as a friend, considering she is an very good lioness and extremely loyal to his side owning his trust.
He narrowed his eyes, albeit playfully and not in an mad manner. "Oh, do we have to do this, lioness?" Kion struggled under her grip and flipped her around. "Now, who needs to behave?"
"Blast it. Overdramatic." Zuri pouted.
"Yeah right, says the one who overreacts when they break an claw or get dirty." Kion laughed crudely yet softly.
Zuri rolled her eyes. "Hey! I can't help it if I care about my appearance!" Zuri snarls defensively. One thing you don't do is point out that flaw about Zuri, though she saw him laughing and knew he was just kidding around.
"Now, you need to behave." Kion states. Zuri reached up and hope to reversed the position yet he had her and held her paws down though not harshly or where her paw can be broken or hurt.
"Hey! Kion!" a voice cried. Instantly, Kion got off of her and they turned to see his honey badger friend running up with an baobab fruit. He threw at Kion's head, hitting him before he could have ducked. Zuri place an paw on her muzzle, preventing herself from laughing.
Since trying to be very mature like her friends, she doesn't want to laugh every corner. Zuri unabled to prevent an giggle from coming. "What is she doing here?" Bunga noticed Zuri standing beside him.
"She's an friend." Kion answered, staring at the dark tan lioness with an bright smile.
"An friend?" Bunga asked as he raised his eyebrow in an playful manner, having remembered when she always wanted to ignore them, now she wants to talk to him every corner.
"Shut up." Both Kion and Zuri blushed. His father had explain that when he's older he would have to have an mate, along with Kiara so there can be a next generation.
"Anyway, wants to play baobab fruit?" Bunga stared at Kion.
"Sure." Kion nodded. "See you later, Z'." he used the nickname for Zuri.
"Alright bye." Zuri states.
Kion and Bunga were playing play baobab fruit. He remembered playing this game when he was very young. The game eventually got out of hand and Bunga throws the baobab fruit towards Pride Rock.
While he was running the golden Prince noticed his father and sister standing out on Pride Rock. Bunga caught it and threw it at the golden Prince who ducked but it was flying to his father. "Heads up! Incoming!"
At the same time the ball made contact to his father's head. "Kion." Kiara chided, albeit playfully and weren't holding it against him. Kion laughed innocently. For one second he thought despite her future Queen's duties she wanted to join them.
"Oh, uh, sorry, dad." Kion apologized sheeplishly. "Me and Bunga were playing baobab fruit-"
"And Kion couldn't handle the pass!" Bunga interrupted the golden cub, cutting him off, in an teasing manner, leaping towards them.
Kiara raised an eyebrow. Good ol' Kion and Bunga trio, getting into trouble like she did when she was younger though she is growing up and the idea of being Queen forced her to accept her place. Kion is serious but she was happy that he's recovering from being an Outlander.
"What?! A giraffe couldn't handle it!" Kion retorts, lightly jabbing his best friend in the stomach. "You kicked it over my head!"
"Kion-" Simba attempted to get his son's attention though he failed in the attempt.
"And you couldn't handle it." the blue honey badger continued to tease his best lion friend as he jumped over his head.
"Bunga..." Simba tried to atleast get his son's friend attention but yet like with his son he failed.
"Oh, yeah, try to handle this!" Kion shouted playfully, jumping to best friend, ending up with an struggle with his honey badger's friend infront of his sister.
She smiled lightly. "Bunga, get him." Kiara whispered to slip by her father's ears but not her brother. Usually, she would scolded him, sigh, or roll her eyes but he needed happiness, given the last few weeks of nothing but pain in his life.
"Hey!" Kion hissed in an all too playful manner, releasing the baobab ball and allowing his friend to lunged across the air and into Pride Rock wall.
"Kion, I need to talk to your sister," Simba scolded, though a smile was on his face due to his son atleast having happiness for the first time in weeks with his old friends and not allowing to what happen at night take away his excitement. "She would be tracking gazelles with her friends today."
"Yeah, because I'm going to be-" Kiara beginned with a smile, closing her eyes clearly prideful, though she's just playing and won't ever think she has more power then Kion. They're siblings. They're equals!
Kion has strength and learning to grow kindness once again in his heart. He have managed to resist Zira's temptations and would defend her. He have gotten his scar in helping her and her friends.
Kiara is different from her brother in many ways; she has an calmness to her and unlike Kion she would try to avoid confrontation. She is growing wise, even moreso with Kion around and him teaching her happiness.
They were closed and would do anything and everything for each other.
"Queen of snobbishness." Kion teased her, raising his eye brow in an playful manner. Kiara gave him an playful glare, grinning at him.
"No, I'm training to be Queen so I could boss you around-" Kiara joked.
Before Kiara and Kion could have continued their sibling bond, Simba bended his head down to his golden son. "Kion, can you and Bunga go play somewhere else?" Simba suggested.
"Yeah! Yeah! I know the perfect place!" Bunga cutted in, leaping pass the three Royals and going to the edge of Pride Rock. "Hey Kion!" he shouted out to the Savannah, holding the fruit into the air. "You can't catch the baobab fruit, no!" he teased in an sing-song voice.
Kion ran to the edge, surrounding the honey badger. "You got nowhere to go Bunga." Kion said victorious.
"Says you!" Bunga replied before throwing the fruit into the air and then literally jumping off of the edge of Pride Rock like a fool. "Zuka Zama!"
Kion is concerned that his friend had just cost himself his life and so he ran to the edge, peering down to the honey badger who is flipping and rolling into the air.
Thankfully, the honey badger landed into the tree which soften and halted his fall before he could have landed onto the harsh and hard ground, as he descended softly from the branch and onto the ground.
"Catch me if you can Kion!" Bunga called up as he caught the fruit with his paws and begin running off.
Kion smirked confidentially and playfully. "Game on, Bunga!" he called back as he ran down Pride Rock, calling back to his father and sister. "Bye dad! Have fun catching those gazelles, Kiara! Maybe I can help you later! Gotta catch Bunga! See you later!"
Kiara smirks up to her father. "I actually want to see him tracked gazelles with me, Tiifu, and Zuri." She remarked.
Simba smirked at the thought of Kion tracking with his daughter and her friends. To be truth his daughter didn't knew how to track correctly since she's a noob at keeping quiet in hunting training.
Of course he don't tell her that because there is some things you can't tell an cub. He knew Kiara will have to track more and he actually wanted to test Kion's tracking skills too, given the fact that Kion was, albeit unfortunately, train by his worse enemy.
Simba simply smile and replied with, "Me too, perhaps you can ask him later."
Both the golden Prince and honey badger ran across the Pride Lands Savannah, having nothing but fun and playing, even running into their old friends, Fuli, Beshte, and Ono.
Finally at last, Kion had managed to pin Bunga, making him dropped the baobab fruit. "Gotcha now, Bunga." Kion said. Just at the same time, the fruit landed infront of them and the golden Prince ran over to get it.
"Not yet!" Bunga smirked, jumping on him as the Prince attempted to get the baobab fruit and begin tickling him. "Cheka, cheka, cheka!"
"Stop it!" Kion pleaded while laughing. While the golden cub was laughing, Bunga ran over to grabbed the baobab fruit. "Bunga!" Kion lay on his stomach.
"Got it!" Bunga exclaimed victorious, catching it and attempting to run off, when he was pounce on by the golden cub and landed on his stomach.
"Damn it." Kion cursed. "It rolled into the Outlands. Game over."
"Says who?" Bunga asked. "I'm not afraid of the Outlands."
"Neither am I! It's just... my dad! He says we shouldn't... also with all those predators and attackers." Kion shivered at remembering being taken as an cub by one of the Outlanders.
"Oh! Puh-leeze!" Bunga huffed. "Simba's a big ol' scaredy cat when it comes to the Outlands. My uncles always told me and is teaching you the phase of Hakuna Matata! So no worries!"
Kion smiled slightly. Timon and Pumbaa comes around Pride Rock and is currently teaching him the phase Hakuna Matata. They tried to use it as an method to calm Kion and while it didn't help very little it barely did.
Just before Kion could have retorted to that, the honey badger jumped off, and he ran to the edge shocked. He hated when Bunga did that and worries him.
"Hakuna Matata is going to get that honey badger killed one day." Kion whispered with an roll of eyes. Just in midair, the honey badger landed onto an almost dead tree branch. "Bunga?" Kion scoffed. "You look a little... stuck."
You kidding?" Bunga questioned struggling into the tree's branch edge grip. "It's just a tree branch. Uh... Zuka Zama!" He soon jumped off and landed onto the ground with hus back paws. "Now where did that baobab fruit go?" He asked himself. However, he was oblivious to the nearby treat. "Here we go!" Bunga grabbed the fruit
"Heyvi kabisa." Kion muttered to himself, seeing an pair of yellow eyes glaring out to Bunga "Bunga! Heads up!" He called to his friend, hoping to alert him of the threat. "
"Relax, Kion." Bunga called back to his friend tossing the baobab fruit up into the air. Remember? Hakuna..." Bunga turned completely oblivious of the nearby threat, only to be met by an growling and snarling hyena. "-Matata." He finished, catching the baobab fruit he just thrown.
"Get outta there, Bunga!" Kion warned worriedly, his eyes beginning to take an amber colored.
Unable to resist the urge to go down without an fight, Bunga bravely said to the snarling animal. "Okay, hyena. You wanna see what this honey badger's made of? I'll show you what I'm made of!" Just then he was lifted from the ground from another hyena. "Hey! Lemme go so I can show that other guy what I'm made of!" Bunga twitched into the hyenas teething grip.
"Hyenas! Put Bunga down! Pick on somebody your own size!" Kion snarled willing to jump down there to save his best friend's life.
"Kion! You want the honey badger? Come and get him!" Cheezi taunted hoping to fight the golden cub, since he is kinda in their term considering they have his best friend in their grip at their territory.
"Let him go!" Kion growled. "You hyenas don't want any trouble with my dad... or me!" His eyes started getting as amber as usual, as much as he tried to keep it in.
"Ooh. Like how you'd get into trouble if you came into the Outlands?" Cheezi laughed.
Kion growled. Why can't all hyenas be nice like the one called Jasiri who have escorted him to the borders of the Outlands without an fight and trying to eat him? He hated the fact that some bad part of animals give one specific species an bad reputation. No one had believed him, beside Sarabi and Sarafina and his sister and her friends, when he told them that an hyena have helped him bad without bad intentions.
Just like lions hyenas have good parts of them. There is good and bad in every species and they shouldn't be judge for that. It's unfair to those who don't have bad intentions and want a chance to live a good life without being taken with cautious. Part of him wanted Kiara and her friends to meet Jasiri in lions since she seems to understand and believe in her brother a lot and her friends are also good friends with Kion now.
Returning his attention to the matter m, he noticed the honey badger calling out to him. "Uh, Kion?"
Chungu smirked and laugh slightly. "He's too afraid to come down here." he says further tempting the Prince to go down there.
"Yeah! 'Fraidy cat!" Cheezi taunted.
"'Fraidy cat! 'Fraidy cat! 'Fraidy cat!" Cheezi and Chungu both continued to taunted the golden Prince.
The golden Prince's eyes glare complete ambered and he felt his teeth baring, his claws leaving his paws. He didn't like being mocked by people and these fools furbrains. He can win them into a battle without hesitation.
"All right, yeah. Fun's over. Janja needs his lunch." Cheezi ended the taunt.
"Lunch?" Bunga gulped.
"No!" Kion cried, his eyes starting to become powerful as does his voice. "Let. Him... Go!" Kion unleashed an dark Roar from behind, forcing the hyenas to struggle, as Bunga jumped and grabbed something with the baobab fruit in his grip. The Roar continued until the hyenas made contact to the wall and they gasped and mouths were still open in an gap. The ground was shaking under them and it doesn't seem to be controlled.
Bunga took this as an opportunity to run up to Chungu and place the fruit in his mouth. "See ya, hyena! Wouldn't wanna be ya!" Bunga cheered, jumping up to the branch before making it to the top.
"Heyvi kabisa!" Kion muttered once again, as the honey badger jumped up to him and stood infront of him. Little did the golden Prince knew an symbol appeared on his left shoulder, but disappeared as fast as it came.
"What was that?" Bunga questioned, having never seen anything like it before. "Zuka Zama! Kion, how'd you roar like that?"
"I dunno, Bunga." the golden cub answers truthfully. "Wish I did, though." he added quickly.
"Well however you did it, it was un-Bunga-lievable!" Bunga smiled.
Rafiki was at Pride Rock, talking with the King and Queen upon hearing Kion's thunderous yet firely and dark Roar. "That was Kion's roar?" Nala asked.
Rafiki laughed joyfully and seems to be eager for something. "Yes, Nala, yes!" the old mandrill confirmed. "He is ready! It is time!"
"Eh, no, Rafiki." Simba declined. He can't possibly be ready. He's still a cub. Also, you see the problems he have, he can't even control himself."
"Simba, Simba. You heard the Roar!" Rafiki pointed out still joyfully, hitting him on the head making the golden King shake his head.
"I heard it." Simba admitted. "It's just... it's a big responsibility. I need more time to prepare him and try to cleanse this darkness in his heart."
"I think you've just run out of time Simba." Nala states, smiling at her golden mate as she got into his way. "You need to tell him."
"But, Nala..." Simba tried.
As Nala walked off she said. "Listen to Rafiki, Simba." Simba tends to forget Nala is that type of mate that you cannot argued with or reason with most of the time.
"Kion is ready. It is time." Rafiki said to the golden King.
Just them, the subject they were talking about came up to them on Pride Rock and staring at them with confusion. "Time for what? Dad? Rafiki? What's going on?"
"Son, we need to talk..." Simba deduced.
"Oh no. Dad, we already had that talk." Kion didn't want to have another talk about that awkard subject. "Can you feel the love tonight..." I know all about that mushy stuff!
Simba laughed at the memory and his son's dropping jaw expression. "I... Well..." He cleared his throat. "It's not that, Kion."
"No, no. Most definitely not that." Rafiki chimed in. "We have heard your Roar! Yes, yes!"
"Yeah. It was, uh, kinda different today." Kion said. "I... mean... I always were strong with Outlander's techniques but never did I roar like that." he finished, smiling.
"Different? Different you say? It is more than different. It is the Roar of the Elders!" Rafiki exclaims holding his hands out as the sky brighten on his form. "When you use it, the great lions of the Pride Lands' past roar with you."
"What? You mean that's what happened to my roar?" Kion questioned, now staring at his father.
Before the golden King or Mjuzi could have said something to that, the honey badger came in. "Yeah, lions in the sky! I saw that!"
"The Roar of the Elders is a great gift, Kion. It will make you the fiercest animal in the Pride Lands. But..." Simba didn't finished and instead stare at his Mjuzi for some sort of support.
"But what?" Kion urged his father to continue.
Simba stared at Rafiki halfway. "No, no, Simba." He said pointing at him, eventually making contact to his mane with his index finger. "It is you who must tell Kion about the Lion Guard." He place an hand on the back of his mane.
"The Lion Guard? What's that?"
Kion's thoughts were out of control. For once in an few wweeks, his thoughts weren't on the nightmares and fears of losing someone important to him. Instead, it is about an different subject and topic as an whole.
His father have just explained the tale of Scar as leader of the Lion Guard. Zira have kept that part of this Lion Guard fron the Story of Scar. Then again she said Scar and surely Scar wasn't always... well Scar's name?
What type of parents name their son and child such an brutal name? His father explained the part about the Lion Guard and the role he had carried back before he was evil.
Kion would make sure his fate alter from Scar. He ain't determined to suffer the same fate as that murderer. It however was kind of scary to take that role considering he had never leaded anyone beside himself... and only Kiara and her friends though it was leading since they ran.
Speaking of his sister and her friends, Kion scanned the Pride Lands for them. He needed to talk with them and now it's his turn to rubbed his position into their faces instead of the former this time.
He must allied the bravest, strongest, fastest, and keenest of sight in the Land and that was his honey badger friend. Bunga of course leapt for joy during the request. "I can't wait to tell Uncle Timon and Uncle Pumbaa."
Just then, they heard an familiar shout in the distance. "Little help?" it was Zuri's voice.
Kion frowned. "What did Zuri got herself into this time?" the golden cub wondered, before heading to the pathway of the voice just heard in the distance.
As Kion arrived he saw Zuri stuck in a log with Kiara and Tiifu at the edge. "Hold still, Zuri. Timon and Pumbaa said they know how to help." Tiifu did her best to encourage her best friend.
Zuri whines doing her best to get out of the log without hurting her claw. "Where am I gonna go, Tiifu? I'm stuck..."
Kiara sighs with clear annoyance. "You wouldn't be stuck if you didn't keep stopping to sharpen your claws on every other tree." Kiara pointed out.
"But Kiara, if I don't keep them sharp, they don't stay shiny!" Zuri said examining her other shiny sharpen claw.
This earned a laugh from Kion, who approached the log bravely. "So much for gazelle tracking." Kion laughed once again at his sister. "I guess it's frequently for Zuri to get in helpless solutions." Kiara and Tiifu giggled. Kion is that one who you turn to when they needed something to cheer them up or get an good laugh out of.
Zuri growls sliently at his remark. "Kion, I'm standing right here." She reminded.
Kion smiled. "I know. That's the point," he snickers rudely yet playfully. Kion turned back to Kiara and Tiifu. "So what is this marvelous plan about getting Timon and Pumbaa involved?" Kion questioned with clear sarcasm.
Before either of the girls could have said anything a familiar meerkat and warthog walked up. "Stand aside, Kion." Timon says gleefully, walking up with an log.
The golden cub shook his head. "That's not going to work, Timon." Kion whispers.
"Like you ever got your claws stuck before." Timon retorted.
"Yes," Kion says. "Infact I did. And I will possibly do so again get you stuck in an log if you hurt her, meerkat." He have liked to tease the meerkat alot since he always have the best reactions while Pumbaa have this... stink.
"Let me see." Kion said, his eyes becoming more serious as he realized that she can get hurt if her claw breaks off and begin walking up. "Timon, I need you to push against her paw with that log and Pumbaa you pull it back." Kion ordered.
The golden cub frowned, as he made sure no distractions came. Unfortunately, an certain honey badger came up and Kion stood infront of the rear of Zuri, seeing Pumbaa can easily hurt her if he pushes her forward.
"Stand back, Pride Landers!" Bunga said pridefully. "Bunga of the Lion Guard is here!"
"What?" Kiara asked, confused to what the honey badger was talking about and instantly have an feeling that her little brother is involved.
"Bunga?" Pumbaa accidentally bumped into Kion which forced him to stumbled and made him staggered on his paws yet he managed to regain balance.
Getting back to the Zuri's matter, Kion grabbed her paw and pulled it. Zuri gasped at the small bit of pain but it didn't hurt as bad as she thought. "You good?" Kion asked, actually concern for her wellbeing.
"Yeah, thank you... I guess." Zuri rubbed the log. Kion leaded her to the other side carefully.
Atleast, things didn't went as dramatic. Kiara watched as her golden brother and dark tan friend walk up. "Now about this Lion Guard case-" She stares at him in which he smirked.
"The Lion Guard is the team that protects the Pride Lands and defends the Circle of Life!" Kion informed her. "And I'm it's new leader!"
"I'm gonna be on the Lion Guard, too! It's un-Bunga-lievable!" Bunga added, feeling ever more prideful.
"Sounds like you are growing up fast, little brother." Kiara giggled. "Better not get yourself hurt out there, because if you do I would kill you." she threatened playfully.
"Oh no, I must protect the Circle of Life." Kion said. "And not get myself hurt." he added slowly after.
"Just think we're going to be in the Lion Guard!" Bunga exclaims cheerfully.
Kion: I know that your powers of retention
Are as High as a zebra's wayside.
But thick as you are, pay attention
As he sing this, he knocked Bunga on the head, forcing the honey badger to held a strong saluted face.
My guard is a matter of Pride
It's clear from your vacant expressions
The lights are not all on upstairs
But we're talking Guards and leadership
Kion begin waving his paw infront of the deadpanned honey badger's face. He look like he was about to pounce when he heard unbearable chuckles from behind him and knew it was Timon and Pumbaa. He pounced to them and while he missed they were knock back onto an small ledge.
Even you can't be caught unaware
So prepare for a chance of a lifetime
Be prepared for sensational news
A shining new era's tiptoeing nearer
Bunga: And where do we feature?
Kion: Just listen to teacher
Kion yanked him closer when he sing this part. Ad they sing, they carried it off from the original area and Kion have noticed his sister and friends were following him.
Scanning his eyes for a certain hippo, Kion finally found him in the water, "Big B, come over, Kion has an chance of a lifetime." Bunga called.
"Ok, Bunga." Then the hippo begin approaching, making an big sound against the ground showing his giant form truly from the water.
Kiara: I know it sounds sordid
Tiifu and Zuri: But you'll be rewarded
Kion: When at last I am given my dues
Suddenly, they saw an cheetah fastly approaching and Kion smirked. "Fuli! Kion really needs to talk with you!" Bunga called out to his cheetah friend.
"Ok!" the cheetah replied as she headed back to them and stopped behind them.
Kion and Kiara: And injustice deliciously squared
Tiifu and Zuri: Be prepared!
They noticed an egret up in the sky, scooping in to get something from the ground. "Ono! Kion really needs to talk with us." Fuli called out.
"Huh?" the egret narrowed his eyes, using his eyesight to find the one who had call him since they distracted him from getting his lunch.
The egret finally landed before them. "Kion is to assume the new Lion Guard." Beshte explained.
Kiara and Zuri: It's great that we'll soon be connected
Tiifu, Bunga, Fuli, Beshte, Ono: With a leader who'll be all-time adored
Kion: Of course, quid pro quo, you're expected
To take certain duties on board
Zuri: The future is littered with prizes
Kion: And though I'm the main addressee
The point that I must emphasize is
Kion leap down towards Timon from the rock he was on, and in result knocking the meerkat back and onto the ground from the tiny ledge.
You won't get a sniff without me!
Kion and Zuri: So prepare for the coup of the century
Kion and Tiifu: Be prepared for the greatest Guard
Kion: Honerable Guard
Zuri: Tenacity spanning
Tiifu: Months of denial is simply why
Kion: I'll Be leader undisputed,
Respected, Saluted
And seen for the wonder I am
Yes, my teeth and ambitions are bared
Be prepared!
All: Yes, our teeth and ambitions are bared
Be prepared!
Kion grinned and laughed as his sister and her friends along with his friends watched him ontop of an big ledge. While his sister and her friends may not be in the Guard, they would take it and accept it.
"Now that you got your Guard. I would go back to Pride Rock, considering the antelopes aren't here, and we will have to try again." Kiara declares, smiling softly. She then turned and headed down Pride Rock, with Tiifu and Zuri waving goodbye at Kion before walking off.
Kion smirked at his sister and her friends in a distance. "Come on." He said to his friends, walking to the hills upward. He thought about recruiting Huduma but the bird always says he ain't big on responsibility.
"Now, we need to talk about the Lion Guard." Kion states. "I want you all to join it."
"A Lion Guard? Figures." Fuli said rolling her eyes as she approached the Prince. "Always the lions lording over the Pride Lands. I suppose Simba put you in charge of this little team, Kion?"
"You bet your spots he did!" Bunga remarked.
"Fuli, the Lion Guard needs you." Kion declared. "You're the Pride Lands' fastest."
"You got that right." Fuli agreed, smiling mockingly. "And you're supposed to be the fiercest?" To that, Kion growls lowly, though the cheetah didn't see the growl and remain in her position.
"Well, he is a lion..." Beshte pointed out to his cheetah friend.
"And lions are fierce." Ono added with a roll of eyes. Kion couldn't "It's kinda common knowledge, really..."
Bunga then approached with leapts. There is a way Fuli can respect Kion's position and power. "Show 'em the Roar, Kion." Bunga exclaims excitingly. "Show 'em the Roar!"
"What's Bunga talking about?" Fuli questioned mockingly, getting into the lion's face. "The Roar? You think you're somethin' special just 'cause you can roar?"
Kion's eyes glared amber at her. She may be his friend but at times she can be a... bitch. But he knew that was just Fuli's nature and he can't even change it even if should he swore at her.
"Wait 'till you hear it." Bunga states. "C'mon, Kion. Show 'em the Roar!"
"So what is the deal with your roar?" Beshte questioned, raising his eyebrows in confusion.
"Oh, you totally have to show us, Kion." Fuli taunted.
"Stop being an bitch, Fuli!" Kion snapped, glaring at her and clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes. He didn't like when his cheetah friend being like this! He knew she meant well and were one of his best friend but all he wants to do is just fulfilled his purpose in the Circle of Life.
Kion's eyes widened when he realized what he had just said, and before he could have said an apology to his friends a voice called from behind him. "Kion!" It was his father Simba, and he approached him rubbing his mane. "Calm down."
"Oh, uh, sorry dad," Kion states, smiling brightly and appreciatively. "Fuli, I won't try to curse at you again." she simply nodded but it was clear she have already let it go.
"Now that is settle." Simba said. "The reason why I am here. Kiara have told me that you have asked Bunga to join the Lion Guard."
Bunga waved sheepishly at the golden King, saying "Hey." All-the-while, Kion narrowed his eyes as he look behind his father and notice Kiara, Tiifu, and Zuri who simply laughed silently in the best innocently way possible and ran behind an bunch of leaves that cover them from the glaring Kion.
"Is this true?" Simba demanded, glaring at his son, wanting an straight answer.
"Well, yeah." Kion admitted sheepishly. "I was just talking to all my friends about it."
"Your friends?" Simba asked abruptly. "Kion, I told you to assemble the new Lion Guard. Instead you're just playing with your friends?"
"I'm not playing, Dad." Kion felt his voice rising as this conversation continued though he tried to keep it in. "My friends are the new Lion Guard. Fuli is the fastest. Beshte is the strongest. Ono is the keenest of sight. And the bravest, it's Bunga."
"Kion, the Lion Guard has always been made of lions." Simba said. "Do you really think a Lion Guard with only one lion can protect the Pride Lands?"
"Well actually-" Kion tried to explain to his father in a peaceful way and manner, before the venomous and dark part of him come out but yet his father didn't listen.
Simba continues to explain the role of the Lion Guard. Kion's eyes flared with anger. It seems like his father didn't even trust him at all. Truth be told Kion doesn't even know much about his father beside his appearance and part of his personality. Kion looked over to his sister and her friends who were giving him apologetic looks, then back at his friends who had looks of concerns and worries on their faces.
With the anger in his eyes come, his muscles bunched and his teeth clenched. Kion unleashed something he couldn't let out right there in an unknown direction, but it wasn't his roar but something else. "Dad! Just stop it!" he thundered, shocking everyone on the scene. "You make it look like you don't trust me!"
"Kion-" Simba tried instantly knowing he have unleashed something inside of Kion that he have been trying to push back. Now, it looks like Kion have lost his self-control and he may have made the issue with Kion even worse.
Kion wasn't finished as he glared at his father. He couldn't hold Kiara against it, since knowing his father he may have force her to talk and confessed since Kiara been know not to keep her mouth shut.
"I've suffer six months of pain throughout my cubhood!" Kion cried. "I have suffered endless beatings and near deaths experience a few times! I was the one who had to go through that! Despite being free and escaping from Zira's firely grasp, I still am who I am! I'm trying to keep my self-control, but it seems like you don't even want to help me!"
"Kion, I do-" Simba tried once more to calm his son down, but he interrupted him again.
"You had your talk!" Kion snapped closing his eyes with frustration. "Now it's my turn! You don't even listen to me or given me an chance!" Kion's paw rubbed his scar with anger and hatred. "I have an feeling this is the reason! You see me as that traitor just because I have been torture and 'trained' by his mate an' calmed an scar similar to him!"
"No-Kion... it's not because of that..." Simba tried with his eyes locking on Kion's very scar and his strong muscles. As much as he hates to admit it, Simba knew it was the truth.
"Dad, try this for size." Kion growled menacingly. "I'm. Not. Evil!!!" he bursted out with an growl. "Or maybe I am." He suddenly ran off ignoring the calls of his sister, her friends, his friends, and his father.
"Kion!" Bunga called.
Beshte place an paw on Bunga's stomach, halting him. "Kion needs sometime to himself, right at this moment, little B."
Fuli felt responsible at the moment for mocking her lion's friend, who have been through so much in his miserable lifetime and hanged her head low, with Bunga, Beshte, and Ono either closing their eyes or shaking their heads. Kiara, Tiifu, and Zuri look like they were going to follow Kion, but decided that the Prince needs time to himself. Clearly regretful that he have hurted his son's feeling, the golden King turned and head back to Pride Rock with Zazu.
Kion wanted to be an good leader and defend the Circle of Life. He was punching into a bunch of rocks to calm his frustration. "Dad wanted the best for the Lion Guard, and I found that. But now... maybe the best isn't good enough? I just don't understand."
Kion: Why? Why even trust me at all?
They say the Guard is my call
But then come tell me I'm wrong
Now what? What should I do?
And who? Who do I turn to?
Now everything feels so upside down
Deep down, maybe I knew
It was way too good to be true
With all my friends looking up to me
Some leader I turned out to be!
Sworing he have heard clouds blowing from behind him, Kion was about to turn when he was nearly terrified by an huge yet calming voice. "Kion!" He saw a golden lion's head and face with an orange mane - similar to his father.
"Impossible. Hevi kabisa! Are you... ?" Kion was about to questioned but was cut short.
"And I've been watching you." Mufasa answered his unfinished question. "I was the one who have watch you throughout your imprisonment and spoke to you to help you. You are about to embark on a great journey: Kion, leader of the Lion Guard!"
"I'm not sure dad's gonna let me lead the Lion Guard." Kion dejected. "He's worried that I can't handle it."
"Kion, Simba is worried, but he's worried because he loves you. Being leader of the Lion Guard will not always be easy." Mufasa says wisely.
"Then... maybe dad's right." Kion stammered closing his eyes with clear tears leaving his eyes. "Maybe I'm not ready to lead, or use the Roar. I'm not even sure I can control it. First it's super loud, then it's just a squeak. And I... I don't wanna end up like Scar! I have much darkness in my soul!"
"Don't be afraid, Kion. Trust your instincts, the Roar will be there for you when you need it. And so will I. Until the Pride Lands end." Mufasa said as he disappeared back into the clouds.
"Grandfather Mufasa, don't go yet!" Kion called out to him. "Trust my instincts, the Roar will be there when I need it..." he quoted his words.
Maybe my journey is far from done
They need a leader, and I'm the one
So now it's time for them all to see
The lion I was born to be!
It is time
To take the lead on my own
It is time
For something bigger than I've ever known
No need to wonder, the choice is done
Now I believe I truly am the one
So, is it time?
Is it time?
Yes. It is time!
"Kion! Kion! Janja!" Bunga alerted clearly fearfully. "The hyenas! They're attacking the gazelles!"
What? Oh, no!"
Quickly, Kion and Bunga ran down the Savannah where Beshte, Fuli, and Ono who were watching hyenas attacking the stampeding gazelles. Above from them, a vulture name Mzingo was guiding them, telling them which one to attack.
Mzingo's telling the hyenas which one to target next." Ono noted. "Smart, in a devious sort of way."
"I don't get it." Beshte said. "They've already scored a couple gazelles. That should be plenty for all of them."
"Yeah." Fuli agreed with her young hippo friend. "Why are they still attacking?"
"Janja and his clan will keep going until the whole herd is dead." the golden lion cub said acidly.
"What?" Ono squealed.
"No..." Beshte says softly yet with some pain in his voice.
"Don't they understand the Circle of Life?" Fuli asked, shocked and surprise.
"They don't care about the Circle of Life." Kion explains, glaring firely at the hyenas and vultures, who have taken an few gazelles down. "They're not hunting for food. They want to throw the Pride Lands into chaos. And it's up to the Lion Guard to stop them!"
"The Lion Guard?" Fuli questioned.
"You mean us?" Ono followed with a question of his own.
"What about what Simba said?" Beshte wondered.
"So what if we're not all lions?" Kion retorted. "I know we're the Pride Lands' fiercest, bravest, fastest, strongest, and keenest of sight!"
"That's true." Beshte nodded.
"Of course, we are." Fuli agrees.
"I guess?" Ono looked at the lion cub questioningly.
"Yeah!" Bunga cheered. "Let's go get those stinkin' hyenas!"
"Hold it, Bunga." Kion says, further halting him from moving down there by placing an paw on his tail. "This isn't a game. We need a plan to take on the hyenas. And I think I have one. That is, if the rest of you are ready to join the Lion Guard."
All of the animals suddenly felt very determined. "I'm in." Fuli states.
"Ditto." Ono agrees.
"Lay it on us, Kion." Beshte smiled.
Kion approached his honey badger friend and place his paw on the honey badger's shoulder. "Bunga... You are the bravest!"
Then to his cheetah friend, and like with Bunga he place a paw on her shoulder. "Fuli, you are the fastest."
Then to his white egret's friend and place an paw on his shoulder. "Ono, you are the keenest of sight.
Then up to his hippo friend and placing an paw on his shoulder. "Beshte, you are the strongest."
"We are the Lion Guard. And here's what we're going to do..." Kion finished.
He had decided he would try and stop the hyenas since he have training and can take them on given he was trained and fight before, while the rest of the Guard would try to stop the herd and saves life today, beside Ono who would aid them all from the sky.
Kion was actually not acting as reckless and is giving orders out to his Guard, trying to make sure they knew what they were doing as he watched from the hill, luring hyenas to him as the Guard try and stop the gazelle herd.
Ono was flying above the herd, making sure no random animal was inside. He did scanned something and noticed the Princess of the Pride Lands, just being connected by an antelope horn.
"Kion!" Ono squealed. "Kiara's hurt!"
"What can we do?" Fuli asked.
"I would run into the Stampede!" Kion boldly said. "Fuli, Beshte, I need you to fight off the hyanas, while Ono and Bunga you two try to stop the herd. I'm going to get my sister."
One thing about Kion is that he's very overprotective of his bigger sister in reckless solution. When she's in danger, Kion doesn't allow anything to stop him to reach her!
The Guards let out nods and with that the golden Prince jumped in the gazelles stampede, knowing when to ducked and dodge the stampede. It was hard and difficult but Kion got out of much things even worse then this.
Making to the grey big rock, he jumped onto the rock and forced himself up. "Kiara." he said making her turned to him, shock clear on her face by her mouth being opened in an gap.
"Kion!" Kiara exclaimed. "Have you lost your mind?!"
"Not really." Kion teased. "When you're in danger, sis', now grabbed my paw, I got you." He assured, a soft smile plastered on his face. Kiara reached out for him when suddenly an gazelle's horn made contact to his rear, forcing him past her.
"Kion!" she cried out for her brother, searching for him.
Suddenly, she saw a golden cub grabbed her paw and forced her on their back and ran down as an gazelle ran down to the area she was just at. From the corner of his eyes, Kion saw an small ledge. Placing her on the ledge, Kion smiled at her as the two nuzzle against her and were about to pounce up when an gazelle slammed into him, forcing him back.
"Kion!" She exclaimed beginning to search for him past the gazelles. Without a minute even passing, an golden cub lunged towards her ledge and made contact, grabbing her paw.
"Now up the hill, get to mom and dad, I will take care of Janja." Kion snarled, his eyes beginning to turn amber. Kiara's eyes gleamed with slight worry but nevertheless she begin to move upward.
The gazelles stampede soon came to an stop. Kion gritted his teeth and bared his teeth as he knocked Janja far away with his paws and got him into an position. "Kion, you and your friends better get out of here before you all get hurt!" He threatens the golden lion cub.
"Jania! You fool! First, you dare to attack my sister!" Kion hissed, approaching slowly and menacingly. "And attacking the Pride Lands! You and your kind shall never be welcome in the Pride Lands. Ever."
Dark clouds begin to form behind Kion, his eyes turned to amber, bared his teeth, and flexed his claws. Seconds later, the hyenas were lifted up from the clouds and the ground shook and rumble and racked.
"You win today, Kion!" Janja shouted as he been flew away from the scene. Next time won't be so easy!"
Awes were heard from behind Kion and he smirked as the hyenas were flewed away, so he didn't heard them really, but he did heard Bunga's cheerful voice. "Now that's the Roar!" Bunga exclaims victorious.
"See, Simba? You see? Huh?" Rafiki questioned. "He is ready! It is time!"
"Simba?" Nala asked simply.
"Yes. Kion is ready." Simba agrees. "It is time."
...Time for the Lion Guard.
A/N: Forgive me for the long chapter.
Ok, so noticed I had a two songs. I think I'm going to start doing that in my stories to expand on the story. I did my best to change Be Prepared just clearly more friendly and shocker Kiara, Tiifu, and Zuri singed with Kion. I always wanted to see them sing with Kion in the show, so I thought of that, and I didn't want it to be just them when Kion assemble the Guard since they won't be big with Kion's Guard obviously. Also, noticed how the three are nicer to Kion in this? It's because when your little brother and your best friend's little brother is train as an Outlander or someone who can beat you to death and have been through a lot you 'ought to respect them. XD Anyways, I have future plans of those four just be the ones singing without anyone else.
Now, Lion Guard events are happening, though unlike the show Kion ain't going to continuously use the roar to get out of solutions and quite the obvious will have struggles, hence why he have an dark and slightly uncontrolled roar and I changed an few events. XD
Took me six to eight hours to write this and now I'm resting JK. Longest chapter of mine on this app so far. Future chapters may or may not get longer then this one. LOL
