Chapter 14
Sans warped our group to the battlefield, but I then got a brilliant idea. "Sans, I know it may be a bit risky, but we're going to need EVERYONE'S help to do this fight! Gather the Amalgamates, gather our friends, every single monster, big and small, gather them to the battlefield! We're going to attack these bitches with the power of our friends!" I exclaimed at him.
"You got it, PLAYAH!" Sans exclaimed as he snapped his fingers and, with every second that passed by, nearly a hundred different monsters converged onto our position. By the time we started marching, I knew we had nearly 20 thousand monsters on our side. And we were ready to fight. To save Minus, to save Asriel, to save the Underground from these mistakes of humanity! Even the Amalgamates took to the fray, all of them filled with determination, despite them looking very creepy in appearance. There was one that was a large creature that shook like a Temmie, but also had small identifiable shapes in it that looked like dogs. Another looked like a creepy fusion of heads that spoke completely in gibberish. Another was a giant bird creature that also spoke gibberish, but also jittered about like she were from a horror game. And then there was a creature that looked like a sad snowflake that cried, but also had frowns on the two faces.
"HEY! CHARA!" I exclaimed at the top of my lungs from the center of the battlefield, me seeing that she was atop our group and she had Asriel and Minus trapped in a shield. The same kind of shield that Carrie used to trap Chara. But I knew better now. They were the same person.
"So... you finally decide to join us... wha?..." Chara gawked as she saw the amount of monsters on our side compared to her and Carrie, who was on the ground in front of us.
"So, this is the end, is it? The one who made 2000 Genocide runs, against the ones that want the world to stop these time loops?" Carrie asked me with a smile. I simply took something out of my pocket that I never wanted to use. But now, I was going to have to do it. Carrie gawked at it either way. "W-Where'd you... Where'd you get that spear?" Carrie asked.
"I know I made an oath at 10 to never kill a single soul. And you are spouting nothing but lies, saying I'm a truly terrible person... but Chara, BOTH OF YOU, you think of monsters as a species, a thing that shouldn't exist in your sick worlds. But I'm here to tell you that you are the most disgusting monsters I have EVER MET IN MY ENTIRE. FUCKING! LIIIIFFFFE!" I exclaimed angrily at them as Chara smiled at us.
"Need I remind you of my most powerful attack, you bitch?" Chara asked, me frowning at her. I had to think of something... some kind of way to prevent that attack from happening... but then I remembered mom's words.
"Child... always show forgiveness... show kindness... even the darkest of hearts will open up to a chorus of kindness," I remembered my mother's words. And it was then that Chara made her eyes start to bleed darkness and she laughed like a madwoman as I then grabbed the microphone from Mettaton's hand, raised the volume to max, and started to sing the song with all of my heart.
"Why must we fight now?
Just so we'll feel proud?
Love should be our DESIIIIRRRE!
Kindness, forgiveness,
No longer ruthless,
Evil forever retiiiire!" I sung, Chara gasping as she fell to the ground before she could reach me.
"N-NO! Don't you dare!" Chara exclaimed.
"EVERYONE! SING THE SONG! FROM THE HEART!" I exclaimed, all of the people in the Underground joining me for the second verse.
"GOODNESS SHALL NOW COME,
WHEREVER YOU'RE FROM,
FIGHT WITH DETERMINAAATION!
DOGS WILL GO: BARK BARK!|

"NOW KNOWING INFATUATIOOOON!" everyone sung, the Temmies singing their hearts out as were the dog guards and the Amalgamates!
"S-Stop! Y-You can't do this! M-My power... it's... NO!" Chara gawked as, slowly but surely, Carrie and her started to vanish, their bodies starting to lose their pixels and their darkness trying to overtake them still.
"LOUDER!" I exclaimed for the third verse, everyone in the Underground singing the next song as I saw Toriel appear from beside me and she placed her hand on my shoulder.
"THIS STORY WE TELL,

INSIDE OUR HEARTS FOORRREEEVEERR!
"BELLS WILL BE RINGING,
FRIENDS WILL BE SINGING,
FREINDSHIP HAS CONQUERED TEEERRROORR!" everyone sung as loud and as powerful as they could, me seeing that Toriel sung as loud as possible as well.
"S-Stop! Y-YoU CAn't DOO THIS! PLEASE! WE BEG OF YOU!" Chara exclaimed as I saw that Carrie had completely evaporated, but we kept singing anyways.
"WORRY NOT, LOVE ONES,
THIS JOURNEY IS DONE!

"YELL FROM THE MOUNTAINS:
"WE'RE WINNERS AGAIN!"
OUT TO THE SHINING SEEEAAA!" Everyone shouting the phrase LOUDLY, and I could tell that Chara was feeling the pain.
"S-Stop! Please! IF YOU DON't... S-Stop... I-I'll..." Chara exclaimed as I saw her body started to melt. And she noticed. "N-NO!"
"WE ALMOST GOT IT! LET'S FINISH THIS!" I exclaimed as I sung the final verse and everyone joined in, even Mettaton, Alphys, Undyne, Sans, Papyrus, Gersun, Rebecca, and a guy in a burger outfit standing right next to the cooking human, all of us singing loudly and proudly as I saw something happen from us. A light show of epic proportions!
"BE TRUE TO YOURSELF!

FILLED WITH DETERMINATIOOON!

CONQUERED THE MADNESS!
CHILDREN REJOICE WITH EMOOOTIOOONS!" everyone exclaimed as the children of the Underground then sung as loud as they could... and in the cage above us I saw Minus and Asriel were ready to join us same with the arm-less monster kid!
"YO! LET'S SING THE FINAL VERSE! THE TRUE POWER OF KINDNESS!" the Monster Kid exclaimed.
"YEAH!" all the children of the Underground exclaimed as we then looked at Chara and saw that she was almost completely reduced to a puddle.
"Pppplllglfasssse... mmmmmcmemevcccyyyy..." Chara tried to say, but she was a broken mess. Nothing but goop.
"A ONE! A TWO! LIGHTS! CAMERA, ACTIIOON!" Mettaton exclaimed at the top of his metallic lungs as everyone then sung all at once and in perfect harmony!
"CELEBRATE, BRETHREN,
BOYFRIEND, AND GIRLFRIEND,
EVERYONE O'ER THE EEEARTH!
"EVIL IS BEATEN,
CELEBRATE BRETHREN!
REJOOOOIICCEE... AT OUR! NEW BIIIIIRRRTH!" everyone sung the final verse at the loudest volume and we then gawked as the lights did two different things. One, upon connecting to Chara's body, she was completely annihilated, as well as the castle of Asgore in the distance! And when the dust settled, Chara was on the ground, her body completely a puddle and her face the only thing able to be made out of it.
"You... I c-can't... t-too... much... k-kindness..." Chara gagged on her own blood and body as I approached her and I frowned at her. "Hehe... do you really think... I've learned anything?... I'm the darkness living inside of you... so long... as you're alive... I will always... return..." Chara said, me seething my hand at her and only then knowing what I had to do.
"Well. Fine," I frowned at her as I took my spear in my hand. "If it means... saving the entire Underground. If it means that you will finally give up. If it means that the time loops will end forever... I know what I have to do... Minus!" I exclaimed at my girlfriend, her looking at me in worry. "Tell Asgore the alternate way to get out of the Underground! Take the other six humans, go to the surface, and collect just one more soul. That will be enough for the barrier to be destroyed!" I exclaimed at her.
"B-But what about you?!" Minus exclaimed from the cage.
"In order for this all to finally stop... I will end this right now. Chara, come here," I growled as I picked up her goopy head and she looked at me with a very drained and dopey expression. "Undyne!" I exclaimed, her looking at me in confusion. "I don't care who does it, but it needs to be done. Tell someone, anyone in that crowd, KILL ME! KILL ME SO THAT CHARA CAN NEVER KILL AGAIN!" I exclaimed, Undyne gasping and her sighing.
"I'll never forget you, BFF!" Undyne exclaimed as she took her spear and rushed to me and Chara, her doing the impossible... I felt her spear skewer my head, my body, my soul, and Chara's goopy head, immediately afterwards entered my body and I knew the only course of action left. "Death... By... Hero..." I growled as I then took my spear and, in my weakened state, I shattered my own soul... and then, it was over... I felt that my body was about to leave the place... at any moment.
"Player!" Minus exclaimed at me.
"Don't worry, Minus!" I exclaimed, her tears able to be heard from my position. "Though I may die... you must share this story. Go to the surface. Tell the humans of the events down here. How over 20 thousand monsters led by 7 human warriors destroyed the most powerful demonic scourge in the world!..." I exclaimed... I then felt my body begin to get goopy... and parts of my hair and head started to evaporate into nothingness. "Before I go... I need to say some things..." I said as I looked at my friends, all of them approaching me.
"Dreamurr Family... when the barrier is destroyed, the humans will still be trapped here. Give them company by making sure this place is never forgotten. Make it a tourist destination," I said to them, Toriel crying at that as I felt my feet finally become goop. "Undyne and Alphys," I said, getting the attention of the duo. "Have a good life together... and try to make an anime about the adventures we've had... not fanfiction... anime," I said, the duo gasping and nodding at that.
"We won't have it any other way!" they said.
"Papyrus... Sans... Onionsan..." I said, the trio looking at me in confusion. "Go out and live life to the fullest. The barrier will finally come down. And when that happens, you'll all have your wishes granted... Papyrus, my car keys are hidden in my bed mattress. Onionsan, have Undyne guide you to the Pacific Ocean... Sans... never stop cracking jokes. You can make all the jokes in the world now that there are no more time loops," I said, Sans looking at me with a smile as I saw tears come out of his eyes for the very first time.
"And... Mettaton... Napstablook... The Temmies... and all of you awesome shop keepers..." I said as I felt my lower half was almost completely goop. And I couldn't even see anymore... I was almost gone.
"Go to the surface... and become the best damn people you can be... the best entertainer... the best friend to all... the most adorable kitties of all time... and the greatest and kindest shopkeepers the world has ever seen," I said, them all saying something... but all I could make out was "You can count-" before I felt my ears finally disappear into the ether. "Well... that about covers it... now I can finally be with my mom... my dad... I... love... every single... one of you... everyone... you've... given me... the greatest adventure... I've ever dreamed of... f-fare..." I was about to finish... but then my mouth failed... I was leaving... and I felt the place get covered in white... I then saw a door and someone right next to it... just as I remembered her. "Momma..." I cried as I rushed to her and hugged her gently.
"You saved them all, Player... they can finally be at peace... now let's get going... heaven awaits a hero like you..." my momma said to me with kindness... I then went through the door... and I felt all of my cares fly away in an instant...
"P-P-Player..." I cried aloud as I collapsed on the ground... my child... she sacrificed her life... so that we could all have one of our own. "I shall never forget you... Player Sanchez... your kindness... shall live on forever... in Underground... in this... Undertale..." I sobbed as I then looked at everyone and got on the microphone that Player used to encourage our kindness. "Everyone... As the Queen of the monsters, I hereby issue some new rules that will follow ALL monster lifestyles. Any who mistreat or violate these rules will be executed immediately," I said, everyone of the monsters listening intently.
"First rule, we will no longer use Save Points. Any save points still remaining must be deleted as of right now to prevent Chara from ever resurfacing again," I said, everyone immediately taking their pinkies to their foreheads and deleting any saves they may have had, which I saw very few of them did, most likely from Chara doing that earlier on television.
"Second rule, we are hereby abolishing soul battles of any kind. They were what caused us to be trapped in the Underground to begin with and if we continued to do so, we'd fail to stop another war from happening. No more soul battles, no more EXP, no more LV. Got it?" I said, everyone nodding at that. They were going to listen intently, that much I knew.
"And finally, rule number three. When that barrier gets destroyed, the humans and Asriel will most likely remain down here. So, the moment we are able to greet the humans, we get them to make some roadways and set up a tourism business in the Underground. Nobody is going to forget the battle that happened here today, where humans and monsters united against a world-destroying evil," I said, my tears coming again as I tried to stifle them, the crowd nodding at that as I felt Asgore approach me... he put his hands on my shoulders and I let him talk.
"And here is my rule. To make sure that the humans and monsters will never go to war ever again, I issue a decree of my own. Every single monster in the Underground, upon leaving, must find a suitable home with a human. One monster for each human family should do, as there are more of them than there are of us. And... one final thing... spread kindness... forgiveness... mercy... compassion... the emotion the humans call love is based on all of those factors. It was how Player was able to succeed in defeating this evil," Asgore said, me smiling at him and how he also was crying... but he didn't once show it. And after he spoke, everyone in the audience cheered!
"Ahem... If I may?" Sans asked as he looked at me and asked for the microphone, me noting he was speaking in capitals again. "Thanks for keeping your promise, Sans... I'm proud of you," I smiled at him. Sans smirked as he then took the microphone and started his own speech.
"Ahem... I'm uh... not very good at these things... but I have some words to say... the person you saw on that radio broadcast... that wasn't me... it was Chara disguised as me. Chara and Carrie were the same people and both of them wanted this world dead. They would start with Asriel, then Player's mouse girlfriend, Minus... and then the universe. So... I want to say... I would like it... if we were to give Player... a hero's burial. In her home village... take anything personal to her... put it in a casket... and lay her to rest by her parents... it may not be what she wants... but it's what she deserves," Sans said, everyone in the place crying a bit, but still cheering at that as Mettaton looked at his phone while Alphys finished reprogramming him.
"I... I still can't believe... that Player... was the closest to a rival showman... that I'll ever get to see..." Mettaton sighed.
"Mettaton..." Napstablook said, him going over to the robot and smiling happily for the first time. "I want to make a song... a song for everyone down here... to tell of the grand tale of Player Sanchez... and her quest of spreading kindness... that's one thing she also deserves..." Napstablook said, me sniffling and finally falling down into a crying fit as Asriel came to me and he started to cry too. "Momma..." Asriel said.
"Yes, my son?" I asked him.
"My soul... the moment that Chara was gone forever... I felt my original soul enter my body... and hers leave me... I... I... I want to stay down here... make a house right here in this arena... so I will never forget Player's sacrifice..." Asriel said, me smiling at him and hugging him gently.
"We'll build it, son... if that's what you want... we will do that for you..." I smiled at him. I then looked at Undyne and Alphys and they both looked to be crying too... and a couple of kids saw that and looked at Undyne in confusion.
"U-Undyne... are you... crying?" the one kid asked. The one to encourage the others... I believe his name was Trip.
"I am... and... I don't care... she taught me... crying isn't weak... it shows you how a wrong has been done... and how to make it right... but no wrongs were done this time... I'm crying tears of remorse... she was my BFF... my anime bro... we had an awesome dinner... and now... I'll never see her again..." Undyne said before she too broke down into a crying fit.
"Guys! Come on, get up!" Minus exclaimed as she went to the microphone and squeeked loudly into it, us covering our ears long enough for the crying to stop. "Listen, everyone. It's sad that Player sacrificed herself, yes. But do you think she'd want us to sit around crying? Come on, we all know now how kind she was. If she were here, she'd chastise all of us for being crybabies! She's the toughest girl I've ever met, but also the kindest. She wouldn't want to see all of her friends crying when she gets to heaven. She'd want to see us doing the duties she asked of us to do. Papyrus... your wish was to drive a car down a highway. Onionsan, who wishes to be in the oceans. Asriel, who wishes to build a house on the battleground of Player's greatest display of kindness. Anyone else have any wishes for when they want to get to the surface?" I asked, me seeing a few hands being raised.
"You, Bob Tem! What's your wish?" Minus asked.
"Um... I always wanted to be on a real news network with humans. Not to just deliver the news, but also sell stuff for the needy," Bob Tem said.
The hands raised again, this time, it was Boris, the human wearing the spiked gloves, was called next. "I... I want to start up a fitness club in the Underground. Anyone thinking they'd need some better muscles would train under me and Sharon," Boris smiled.
"I... I want to teach people how to play the piano..." Undyne said, everyone looking at her in confusion. "N-Not that it's not girly or anything... just because I was hoping to also make some songs about Player and her adventures."
"Uh... I uh... I want to... OH WHO AM I KIDDING!" Alphys exclaimed as she ripped off her lab coat to show a shirt with a heart on it that said "I love Undyne". "I want to be Undyne's girlfriend! And I want to reunite the Amalgamates with their loved ones... as well as give everyone of their families a sincere, giant sorry... I screwed everything up... this whole mess with Flowey, the Amalgamates... and I was too nervous to warn Player of what was happening... I'm a failure..." Alphys said with sadness as she tried to hide herself in a portable trash can and Undyne simply picked her up from it and hugged her.
"We don't care about that, Alphys... we don't care about your mistakes, or your experiments, or the fact that you post embarrassing stuff online. We just want you to be true to yourself, like the song said," Undyne said, me smiling happily... Undyne almost never acted so nice before.
"T-Thank you..." Alphys said with a smile.
"Any other volunteers?" Minus asked.
"I have one..." I said with a smile. "I wish... I wish to be the one to give Player's village kindness... she said the people in her village were mean... and their cruelty led her to the Underground... I wish to make them right their wrongs with kindness and the fact of our existence," I said, remembering the stuff Player said to me in the Ruins. Her past life and how she wanted to be kind to everyone.
"I'd say that everyone here has a wish, then! Now why don't we go make those wishes come true? It's time that we go to the Barrier and do what Player mentioned before. There is another way to get the final human soul required," Minus said, me gasping at that.
"Huh? Another method? What is it?" I asked.
"A monster from the Underground has to have a human soul on their person... so long as it is touching their bodies, they can exit the barrier from the surface. They will then need to find a soul from the different graves, make sure it was a kind one, and bring it back to life... but to be safe, make it someone who died in their later years. Chara was reincarnated from Player's determination alone. I'm pretty sure the soul of an old person would be just what we need to make sure Chara truly is gone forever," Asriel said, me smiling at him.
"Then... I'll be the one to do it!" said a man that I'd heard was nicknamed Burgerpants.
"Burgerpants? Are you sure? It could be dangerous, y'know?" a cat girl asked him in a mocking manner.
"I wanna do it... so I can have my life finally mean something, ya know? My whole life I've been flipping burgers... but nobody cares about a burger employee. So, I want to do it. I'll find the grave of someone who lived to be 70 or older in human years... and I'd really like it... if it would be Tina who came with me," Burgerpants said, Tina looking at him and hugging him at that, me smiling at that.
"I love you, Bug... and though we may not see each other for a bit... know that I'll still be making the best damn burgers ever when you return," Tina smiled at Burgerpants, me smiling at how she called him by name.
"You always were my perfect patty-flipping princess, Tina," Burgerpants smiled at her as she then went into soul form and Burgerpants placed it under a sun hat on his head. "Okay, time to do this... for Player," he said.
"Agreed. Everyone, we shall await at the Hot Land Plaza until Bug and Tina return," Asgore said.
"HUZZAH!" everyone exclaimed at the same time... I then, with tears in my eyes, created a new verse completely from scratch... and I sang it into the microphone.
"Time loops controlled us,
But no longer, cause,
Player has saved the Underground!
Let's see the sunrise
Moonlight's lullabies
Now that we are unbound!" I sung, everyone gawking at my verse. And then Mettaton placed a big screen up for us and we started to sing the final verse to the song.
"TIME LOOPS CONTROLLED US,
BUT NO LONGER, CAUSE,
PLAYER HAS SAVED THE UNDERGROUND!
LET'S SEE THE SUNRISE
MOONLIGHT'S LULLABIES,
NOW THAT WE ARE UNBOUND!" all of us sung triumphantly, me smiling happily at that. We would finally have our happy ending... our happily ever after...
