Chapter 15 – Serenity's Second Battle

In the previous chapter, Serenity and her team were made to the next town, in which they met an another player named Jesse, who has developed crush on Serenity, but he didn't know that she was in relationship with Kirito, the hero of SAO. As the days goes by, the two became fast allies then Jesse admitted his hidden feelings for her. On the other hand, Kirito was keep forcing by Apsu to give himself up to become her king, but Kirito had been totally declined her offer and she declared that she wanted to killed Serenity at all cost, despite his protests, realizing that she was in the world of Sword Art Online to rescued him.

Will Serenity can able to admitted the truth to Jesse about her secret relationship with Kirito? Will the players can able to figured it out the Dark Force's evil plot?

The next morning, Serenity and her team were travelled in Floor 70, in which called Smithville Town, in which the place where some huge sword fights occured and sword makers and mages were resided at.

" Wow, lot of sword vendors gathered around here in this market. Is there's any celebration happened here? " Serenity asked Tana

" Actually, there is one, the most famous of all, a sword festival. " Tana said in response

" a sword festival? What was the name of the festival was it? " Serenity asked

" It was called the Sword Fight Festival, in which every players of Sword Art Online were gathered to compete in order to get the champion title, in which the grand prize was at 7,000,000,000. " Aldrin stated

" 7,000,000,000?! That was too high! " Serenity said in a surprise manner

" That why every players were trying to get the grand prize, but they have failed to get it because the current champion of the competition was so strong and undefeatable, just like the former champion, Heathcliff, who was passed away a months ago. Maybe someone had killed him in a deathly match or something. " Sana stated

" So, are you interested in joining in that contest? That was so very brutal if you will be charged out by the current champion. " Jesse asked Serenity, with anxious expression on his face

" Maybe this is the only way to spread my name so that Apsu can able to heard it about my secret mission and to tracked her at all cost. " Serenity answered in response

" I see about it… " Jesse muttered, nodded his head, still anxious on his face

And so she and her team were proceed to the colosseum, and to signed up for the contest. After that, Serenity was been selected to be entered in the contest along with the other players, going to the gym hall while Tana and the others were sat on the audience seats while everyone were waiting for the contest to start.

After a hour, the emcee went out, holding a microphone, said in a loud voice " Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you so much for waiting. And now, we have been gathered here to witnessed the main event of the Sword Festival, in which every players of Sword Art Online will participate to get the main prize of 7,000,000,000 and to be awarded as the new champion of the sword contest by beating the current champion who was still undefeated. There will be three rounds for each levels: ordinary, middle and the grand finale. As you can know it, one of the players who had been participated in this contest was the hero of the Sword Art Online, the Black Swordsman, Kirito, was the only player who had reached in the grand finale level but unfortunately he was lose in the end. But this time, we need a brand new champion for this year. So, just sit back and relax and have a great cheers for your favourite participant. And the contest begins! "

The contest had been begun. While the other players were still battling at the gym field, Serenity was sat on the bench, holding her sword, nodded her head, looking, still reminiscing about her moments with Kirito, and she thought on her mind " Kirito…when I win in this match, I promise that I will become more stronger than ever and to rescued you from Apsu no matter what… and to saved you from great distress, I swear. "

But her thinking moment was interrupted when Jesse went approached to her, said " Um, Serenity. "

Then, she stand up from the bench, turned to him, asked " Yes, what is it, Jesse? Is there is something that you need to asked me with? "

" Did you heard the name of Kirito was been called, the hero of Sword Art Online, right? "

" Yes, I been heard his name was called. But why? "

" Well you see… um…. "

He paused for a moment while Serenity looks at him, with curiosity.

" What is it, Jesse? What is it? Just speak it out to me. "

" Serenity, have you ever in relation with that player, aren't you? "

" Wa… Wait, hold on. How did you guess that I was in relation with Kirito? "

" Is because that you have the same skills and abilities as he was. I never thought that an another strong player just like you to have a similar skills from a stronger player just like him so that why I think in my mind that you have been related to him. Is that really true? None of the players never knows that you are very related to him. Just tell me the truth, Serenity, tell me. "

The two are looking at each other, in different facial expression for a moment and then Serenity sighed breathly and she responded " I know it was hard to admitted it but it was really true, Jesse. I have been related to him because I met him in an another world of where I lived with. That the reason why I entered in this game to rescued him from the hands of evil. " and she looks at him, went continued " That's was my main mission and that why I swear my devotion and faith, to win in this contest no matter what, for him and everyone else. I won't ever lose, I will never lose… ever "

" Are you saying that you are so very loyal to him so much? Did you really loved him so much? "

" Exactly it is, Jesse. I loved him so much with all my might. But, you are a great man, Jesse. I will accepted the way that you have feel for me but my strong love and devotion to Kirito will be remained no matter what. "

" Serenity… "

After their private conversation, her name was been called out, proceed to the gym field. Before she could went out, Jesse hold her hand, looks at her, said " Good luck, Serenity. You can do it. "

" I will, Jesse. I promise " and she let her hand go off from him and then she went out, going to the gym field while Jesse was watching her from behind.

Serenity was finally made to the gym field, facing an another sword player and the sword fight was begun. It was at the ordinary level, in round three.

The other side of the audience, was cheering for Serenity, including Tana and her team.

" Go, Serenity, Go! " Lala yelled

" You can do it! " Sana shouted

After a few minutes of fighting and cornering in the field but in the end, Serenity defeated the sword player opponent, and she wins in the ordinary level, making everyone were jumped in joy. She proceeds to the middle level, in which she fights an another player who had won in the ordinary level. But due to her strong devotion and determination for Kirito, she used her brand new skill to defeat the player and in the end, she won in the middle level. Then, she proceed to the grand finale level in which she will gonna faced the undefeated champion. The audience were started to get nervous, think that she might be ended up being defeated, just like the same way to Kirito.

As she faced the champion player, who was revealed to be the former sword fighter of the guild called " Night Fury ", the champion player asked her, in a mockingly manner " Well, a first time female sword player, eh? How very brave woman you are. "

But Serenity was still keeping quiet, without saying a word, still facing him.

" Fine then, I'm not worthy that a female sword player should opposed me in the final level. But somehow, I will gonna crushed you into tiny pieces and no one can able to defeat me. Let's finished this! " then he charged his sword weapon to launched his attack against her

The audience were started to frighten in fear.

" I cannot watch! " Sana said, covered her eyes with both of her hands

But Serenity quickly dodged herself away from his attack, vanished away from his sight.

" Where's she go? " turned his back around, looking for her

A few seconds later, she appeared again behind his back, very faster than ever.

" What the? She was behind me? It can't be…. " as he slowly turned his back to her

She activated her special sword skill " Moonlight Sword Flash ", then she launched it at the champion player, hit on the shoulder, making him to become unmovable.

" Impossible… I can't be defeated by a strong female player… " and after a few seconds, he fell down on the ground, unconscious

When they were surprised that Serenity had defeated the champion player, they shouted with cheers including Tana and her team.

" Yahoo! Serenity wins! " Aldrin shouted with delight

" I knew that she could do it. " Sana said, with happy expression on her face

" Yeah… " Tana uttered

Jesse was sigh in deep breath, was happy in relief that Serenity had won in the contest.

" The new champion of the sword fighting contest this year was goes to Serenity! " the emcee said

" Great cheers for Serenity! Hep, Hep, Hooray! Hep, Hep, Hooray! " the audience shouted

And then, Serenity have received the grand price and the champion title.

" Here you go, Miss Serenity. Congratulations. " the mayor said, handled the grand price and the champion title to her

" Thank you so much, Mr Mayor. I will humbly accepted it that way. " Serenity said, with a smile on her face

But unbeknownst to everyone including Serenity, the servant of Apsu was secretly watching from the top of the colosseum, but he left immediately as someone watching him from behind, an another player wearing a black cloak, who was watching the contest match.

The servant reported back to Apsu, tell everything to her of what he had witnessed and then she stand up from her throne chair, with evil amusement on her face.

" Your Highness? " Alto asked

She ascended from downstairs, said with evil amusement " So… she was the new heroine of this game, eh? I never realized that to be happened in a sudden. I will make sure that she will gonna be destroyed at all cost and I will become the new ruler of the entire virtual worlds. " with burst of laughter and then she commanded the knights to sent off to every locations to defeat Serenity, and the knights were departed away

On the other side, Silica and the other SAO players were still at Floor 73, in order to rescued Kirito. Meanwhile at the Dark tower, Kirito was sat on the bed, crying in tears, crutched himself with both of his arms and with a blanket on it. But suddenly, a mysterious voice called him " Kirito… Kirito… "

He was surprised by the mysterious voice and then he asked " Who are you? How did you know my name? Just showed yourself. "

And then a light shone appeared before him, making Kirito was surprised in fear. After a few seconds, he was surprised that it was a small mysterious creature had been appeared before him, who looks like a pixie fairy (Note: It was very similar to Yui). The male pixie fairy looks at him, smiling in face, making Kirito wondered in curiosity.

" Who are you anyway? Where did you came from actually? " with curiosity on his face

Now that Serenity had won in the sword fight match, as the new champion of the year, she will keep on in rescuing Kirito from the evil hands of Apsu and to saved his world no matter what. But unbeknownst to her, Apsu sent her armies forces to destroyed her. On the other hand, Kirito met a mysterious tiny creature, who was very similar to Yui (in the anime adaptation) had been recognized Kirito, but he asked him of where he came from actually.

Will Serenity can able to foiled Apsu's evil plot to destroyed her? Who was the mysterious player who was watching the servant of Apsu's secret moves? Is he/ she an ally or an enemy? Who was this mysterious male pixie had been appeared before Kirito? Who was he?
