*Ch15*

The next few days passed in a frustrating yet happy blur. On one hand, Kurama and Hiei seemed to form a silent agreement to never leave the detective unattended; which meant more sexy fun times for all, but also designated little time for Yusuke to plan, let alone preform, escape attempts.

Yusuke's day to day life literally consisted of eating, drinking, sleeping and the two demons almost going so far as to fuck him into the mattress, or any surface really. 'Almost', meaning they hadn't gone all the way…yet. Kurama wanted to wait till they mated and Hiei seemed to agree, manly so they could both continue to drive Yusuke out of his mind with pleasure. The teen would swear they were playing an intense game of 'who could get Yusuke to scream their name the loudest." He wasn't sure who was winning.

As much fun as those times were, Yusuke could honestly admit, in the privacy of his own mind, that he liked the quite moments the most. Snuggling after heated scenes turned into one of his favorite past times. He enjoyed cuddling the small fire demon with in an inch of his life as much as he relished in the same treatment from the fox. He loved the way Kurama would run his long fingers through his hair; while Hiei remained his silent companion as he slept. He felt loved and cherished but most of all, protected. Three things Yusuke had never truly felt in a very long time.

As great as these moments were, Yusuke also felt like screaming; not in pleasure, but frustration. All three demons had agreed to wait until Yusuke was back to full strength before mating. However, the patience of that process was lost on the teen. He understood why they needed to wait but was angry none the less on why his body was taking so long to heal. Normally his body and energy would be back to full health within the first week after waking up. It had now been just over a month since the Rando incident and Yusuke's spirit energy was finally starting to reach standard levels. He wasn't at one hundred percent, but was definitely close.

He was eager and almost ready for his next great attempt. The two demons must have sensed this, because they kept a more vigilant eye on the teen.

No matter how much he planned and plotted, it soon became obvious their were no apparent ways to conceal his presence from his future mates highly trained eyes. With Hiei's third eye and Kurama's ability to control and listen to the elements around him, his chances were bleak at best. So how then, was he suppose to remain undetected for a grand total of ten minutes; he could barely manage three!

He puzzled on this question for a few days until the answer finally came to him in the form of the kitsune's mother, Shiori.

Yusuke had just come down stairs, dazed and limping from their last bout of…um…fun times. Seriously, his throat was sore, his legs were jelly and he was quite convinced his dick would fall off if he didn't end their little game soon. Not saying he didn't like it; god he loved it, but this epic competition of for-play was slowly driving him insane. Correction, it had made him go insane. The sex was fantastic and absolutely amazing but the main event was still beyond his reach.

Kurama and Hiei made sure to prepare him, painlessly and thoroughly, and he blushed at that thought. They were both very diligent on getting the detective familiar with their….*ahem… fingers. Slowly stretching and prepping him for what felt like hours. Taking turns on making him scream and moan in either annoyance or pleasure. If this continued, something was going to explode; preferably something on the opposite end of his index finger.

Down the last step, Yusuke's pain was forgotten when he caught the enticing scent of fresh bread and sizzled meat. His nose led him to the kitchen where he was met with the surprising sight of someone he'd only met once or twice in passing, and never alone.

"Ms. Minamino?" Yusuke questioned.

"Oh, Yusuke!" Shiori turned with one hand held to her chest. "I didn't hear you come down. How are you feeling? Shuichi informed me your illness was awful but slowly making its way up the road to recovery."

"Um, right… I'm feeling much better, thank you." He had no idea how Kurama explained the situation to his mom, but thought it wise to give as little information as possible. "Sorry for any trouble we've caused you, but the food you've been making has been a huge help, thank you again for that."

"It's no trouble at all dear, I enjoy cooking and it's nice seeing Shuichi on a regular basis again. If you'd like, I just finished baking some bread, help yourself. The chicken will be ready in just a moment."

"Um, yeah. Thanks." Yusuke helped himself to a slice with butter and practically moaned at the taste. "Oh, man. If you ever feel the urge to leave your current husband I'd be happy to marry you in his place. This is amazing!"

Shiori laughed, "I'll keep that in mind if I ever wish for you to save me from my happy love life. Now go to the table with that before you drop bread crumbs everywhere."

"Yes ma'am." He joked, gleefully making his way to the table with now one slice of bread in both hands.

Sitting down, Yusuke happily nibbled on both pieces of bread. Enjoying the sun from the window on his back and the peace and quite. It wasn't long before his mind began to wandered to their previous thoughts. One staring a certain red hair demon and three eyed apparition. How was he suppose to make the impossible, possible?

Yusuke was lost in thought until a plate with the most delicious looking spread of chicken was placed before him. Wow, Kurama truly had the best mom ever!

"Is everything alright, Yusuke?"

"Huh?" chocolate eyes met the other with a confused expression.

"You seem like you have a lot on your mind is all."

"Oh, well yeah. I guess you could say that." He could only imagine what Kurama's mom would think if he told her his plans on tying to land her son in bed. Heh, that would be embarrassing, and Kurama would probably kill him too.

"Care to share your thoughts?" Shiori innocently asked.

'NO!' Yusuke's mind practically screamed.

Shiori must have noticed the look of horror on his face cause she followed up with a sentence that brought even more terror to his thoughts. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. It's just, I can't help but notice you and my son, as well as Hiei, have been spending a lot of time with one another these past few weeks. Sometimes I hear noises that sound like arguing and I also feel this sense of strain in the atmosphere surrounding you three. What's more, every time my son gazes at one of you he gets this strange look in his eyes that I can only describe as some sort of tension. If you don't want to tell me I understand, however, if you need someone to talk to I'll be happy to listen."

Throughout Shiori's speech, Yusuke's mind progressed from horror to mortified to terror once more. What on earth was he suppose to say? Telling Kurama's mom the truth was completely out of the question. At least until he spoke with Kurama and they agreed on what to tell her. Lying was off the table too since he'd proven on multiple occasions to be a shit liar. Thinking and strategizing was Kurama's gig not his.

FUCK!

"We'll you see…"

Well, at least that answered the question on whether or not she knew about Hiei. Think Yusuke, think! How did Kurama lie to his mom? Answer, HE DIDN'T. Okay fine, next question. How did he lie to enemies? Answer, flash a perfect smile and persist with killing them quickly. Probably not the best solution in this case, next. How did he lie to friends or people he didn't know very well? Answer, state the response with half lies….Okay he could do that.

"It's nothing to be worried about, really Ms. Minamoto. Me, Kurama and Hiei are just playing a little…game.

"Game?"

"Yeah, It's a really intense video game that all three of us have been playing to help me pass the time with my recovery. It's a strategy game that involves defeating one another in both game and real life. The only problem is, is that Kurama and Hiei keep beating me at it and I'm trying to figure out a better strategy but your son is like the king in that department. So what you've been hearing is probably me yelling at the two of them in frustration cause they keeping ganging up on me to win." Their we go! Yusuke mentally patted himself on the back. Even Kurama would be proud of that answer.

"Oh, I see." Shiori smiled. "We'll in that case, if you tell me the situation and rules of the game, maybe I could help? I can't speak for Hiei, but I know my son very well and know better than most how he strategizes and thinks."

'Huh.' Yusuke thought. 'Maybe she could help.' ….Not with the whole mating thing cause one, eww and two, just no. But Shiori was right, she knew her son better than anyone in this world, minus the demon parts.

"Um yeah, actually…maybe you could help."

So for the next ten minutes, Yusuke presented Shiori with his best PG rated, video game version of what had been going on these past couple weeks. Leaving out all the… *ahem, sexual content of course. He explained his previous strategies, the power Kurama and Hiei's characters had in the game (plants and third sight), what the object of the game was and all the rules that had been placed.

He was quite proud of himself really. Turned out he had a real knack for half truths. He made a mental note to inform the two demons of their talk, just in case Kurama's mom ever brought it up again.

"So that's the situation. No matter what I try, I can't seem to win."

Ms. Minamino nodded her head in agreement. "I see, yes it makes sense. My son has always been very bright when it comes to matters of the mind and Hiei seems to be a close second. Together their tactician strategies are near unbeatable."

"And now you see where I'm coming from. I can't win!" Yusuke exclaims.

Shiori pauses to think for a moment, "Maybe not in a game of wits, but their are other ways to win. Tell me Yusuke, what are your strengths."

Yusuke shrugged, "I've never been much of a 'thinker' in battle. Most of the time I just win my battles through strength or pure luck. I don't normally strategize or think ahead, I just try to have fun really."

Shiori seemed to brighten at this statement and Yusuke could practically see the lightbulb appear above her head.

"Then maybe that's what you should do."

"Not think?" Yusuke asked, perplexed.

"Exactly! Yusuke dear, you strike me as the type of person who charges into battle head on. Without worry or care, you throw yourself into the middle of a fight without holding back or fear of injury. It makes you reckless but also unpredictable in battle, and their lie's your true strength. Enemies will expect you to hold back or plan for some alternate strategy. But you Yusuke, throw all those plans out the window. It's next to impossible to prepare a strategy for you because I'm sure half the time you have no idea what your doing yourself."

"I think their was a compliment somewhere among all those insults."

"It means you're unpredictable, it's a good thing, in this case." Shiori laughed.

Yusuke throws his hands up in mock anger, "And their's another insult! No wonder Shuichi is so sassy at times, he gets it from you!"

Ms. Minamoto just laughed at the pouting teen and stated with sincerity, "Trust me Yusuke, I think this could work. Just be your brave and brash normal self."

The teen sighed, "I suppose…can't hurt to give it a try."

"That's the spirit." Shiori grins and then checks her watch. "Oh! Goodness me, look at the time. My volunteer shift at the shelter starts in thirty minutes." She stated while hurrying about gathering her things. "Yusuke good luck on that game of yours." She pecks him on the forehead before rushing out the door. "You'll do fine I promise!"

The teen barely raises his voice in time to give her a quick goodbye before she's out and closing the door behind her.

Ms. Minamoto had given him a lot to think about; Yusuke's mind was overflowing with new thoughts and ideas. Shiori, though ignorant to the main facts, had made a good point on a lot of different areas. It's true his normal style of fighting was to jump in (sprit) guns blazing, but would that work in this type of situation? Could he avoid the two demons for ten minutes by simply winging it?

On the other hand, maybe that's what Kurama and Hiei wanted. Proof, that their hot headed and brash spirit detective was back? Proof he could handle himself once more against that toughest of demons, devil may care smile and all, like his usual old self. Proof that he was ready…..to be mated….to the two demons who would protect him the most but at the same time be able to defend himself as well as them… His usual self.

Kurama and Hiei didn't want another silent, carful and cunning demon to add to the group, the two of them already had plenty of that in spades. No, they wanted HIM. The brave, caring, hot-headed and sometimes stupidly lucky Yusuke Urameshi that complemented both of their personalities. God it felt so obvious now! Shiori was a genius!

Coming back to himself, Yusuke realized the sun had set and his two demons would be back soon from doing… what ever they were doing. He'd been buried in his thoughts for a few hours then. Getting up, testing stiff muscles that had been stationary for awhile, Yusuke slowly made his way to the up stairs room and got ready for bed.

Just as he had gotten into bed and closed his eyes, two warm bodies joined his in the cold sheets. The teen sighed in bliss and unashamedly snuggled in closer to the heat on both sides. He could feel an arm wrap around his shoulder and a different one over his hip. All three of there scents mingling into a irresistible bundle of comfort and warmth, making it almost impossible to resist or rouse from his sleepy, comfortable mind. However, before succumbing to sleep, Yusuke knew he had one last thing to say before he gave in to his muddled thoughts.

The voice that pierced the silence was sleepy but determined and calm. "Tomorrow, around mid day, and this time I'll make it." His speech was vague, but to the point. Kurama and Hiei would know exactly what he meant.

Tomorrow, just after twelve o'clock, he'd try another escape attempt. This time out the front door, no secrets or misunderstandings, so they would know exactly when to start the clock. He'd meet the ten minute requirement and by tomorrow night they would be mates. Forever.

The message was clear, but the room remained silent. Yusuke was confident the two demons had heard him but were pondering his words very carefully. Probably analyzing his tone and body language in order to determine his true thoughts. But the teen remained calm and relaxed, his mind blank and only the feeling in his gut telling him this was the right answer. He'd learned to trust his instincts in battle, and he knew in some unexplained way, this was the correct approach. He had no doubts.

Satisfied, Yusuke was just about to dive into sleep when he felt a brief brush of lips to the back of his neck and another to the front of his chest. Again, the message was clear, challenge accepted and in full agreement.

Tomorrow, the chase would begin and end.

*Authors Note: Yay another chapter completed. Sorry their were no steamy scenes in this one. I've had this scene in my mind since the beginning of the series and debated whether or not to include it into the story. Shiori is a wonderful character in the original franchise and despite having a minor role her loving character is obvious in the fist few episodes. So in the end, I decided this chapter was necessary. The next chapter will finally be the start of the scene everyones been waiting for. Their will definitely be M-Rated stuff in the next chapter so please don't read it if you're not interested in that stuff. Its been a long journey and the story is finally coming to an end. I haven't decided whether or not to make the last chapter into two parts or not; regardless, the next chapter(s) will be the last of part one. I've enjoyed writing this one and am excited to begin writing part 2. For those of you who are interested, I have two other stories I'll be starting to post. One Naruto (SasuNaru) and one Supernatural (Destiel) story, so theirs something else to look forward to. Otherwise, to my faithful viewers; until next time, TTFN!*
