Value for Lot
She asks;
she knows it's her own fault
because she asks
but she asks
anyway
And because she's asked,
she's committed,
signed her name
on the subscript
But she doesn't realise
and she can only be thankful
there's an opt-out clause
or else she'd be trapped,
eternally trapped
in something she's grown to hate
more and more
Because if something so valuable
can be given
so freely, then where's
the value
after all?
The grass is always greener
where foolish humans don't tread
after all.
