As the chapter title says...a certain pair are getting together now instead of it being later.

The feeling had been bothering him for the past few days now. A feeling inside George that was similar to when he and Saphira were confused with their emotions but this one didn't feel forced by his draconic instincts. He laid awake an entire night, trying to figure out this feeling and when he did, it left him with a realization he never thought he'd come to just now.

He was in love with Saphira.

He had fallen in love with Saphira.

He knew it had to have happen at some point, he was a dragon and so was she, they did have a mating season after all. Yet he didn't feel like his instincts were causing this now that he had searched his feelings as it were. He genuinely loved her, wanted to be her mate, wanted to be hers and she his.

Though did she feel the same? That question laid heavily on his mind. During the war or before it, he never looked for a woman to love because that would just make Bloodwolf hunt her down and kill her to bring pain to his heart. But Bloodwolf was dead, and George was in a different world. He cannot do anything here. So George knew he had to tell Saphira his feelings for her and hope for the best. They had gotten through issues by talking it out before.

Waking up, five days after the Gil'ead breakout, the silver-scaled dragon noticed it was the middle of spring. As soon as the middle of spring began, George's love for Saphira had intensified and he knew that spring must have been the mating season for dragons. He was surprised Saphira wasn't doing anything but perhaps that was because they agreed to remain close friends for now.

We can't just remain close friends for the rest of our lives. Something will change and it has. God help me, I love her so much. George thought to himself. He loved many things about her, her protectiveness of him and Eragon, her personality of being a kind, yet sometimes stern, and funny dragoness. Plus, she was a great fighter and also...her scent was attractive to him.

Getting up, the silver-scaled dragon saw the sleeping female dragon and took a deep breath before walking over and nudged her. Saphira's eyes tiredly blinked open and she looked at him. What's going on? Are you okay?

Saphira... There is something I want to tell you and in private. George said seriously to hide his nervousness. There was no going back after this. He sternly said to himself that if she did feel the same, he would protect her, be there for her, love her, challenge any male dragon who comes in their path as Galbatorix did have two more eggs in his possession so one had to be a male.

Saphira's eyes widened as he turned and walked past multiple trees. Casting one last glance at her Rider, she got up and followed? Lately she had been feeling a strong feeling within her stomach and it wasn't like when she was confused with her feelings which caused issues for her and George. She had been privately debating this feeling with herself and it led her to our own realization and it left her Happy instead of afraid.

She loved him...so much.

After all they've been through together, she's fallen in love with him and was hoping he felt the same and was going to tell her as it was mating season for dragons. She didn't know how long she can hood herself back from letting her feelings and instincts want. All she knows is her heart wants this, that her love is genuine and not the dragon mating forcing it upon the .

They came to a secluded area, not too far away from camp but not too close. Trees blocked their view and the dragons sat together, silent as they looked at the full moon.

The Moon is beautiful, is it not? Saphira asked in an attempt to brake the silence.

I can think of something else more beautiful than anything in the world. George stated, looking at her.

What? Saphira looked at him and his gaze didn't leave her so she got her answer and it made her chest puff in pride.

You are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen in my entire life...the most beautiful female I've met. George said softly and Saphira now had her attention on him as he finally looked away and sighed to himself before looking at her. Saphira, I cannot ignorehow I feel a y longer when I am CERTAIN I know how I feel. Saphira... I love you.

Saphira's eyes widened as she stared at him, her mouth dropping open. She couldn't believe he said it! Her heart swelled with love and she almost decided to begin the courtship that would officially declare them mates but she needed to tell him first.

George...I feel the exact same way. I love you as well. George's eyes widened yet he too felt love at her affectionate gaze. Our feelings aren't fake or created by our instincts. I truly love you.

As I love you.

And plus, you have been impressing me with the stages of impressing a female. George looked confused. At Teirm, you brought me food and went hunting for yourself and me and have also found shelter, showing you can provide for me...and any hatchlings we have. You also showed your strength to me during our spars and at Gil'ead, which made me fall for you even more. You've done everything a male dragon needs to impress me and make me love you. But the mating season for us has begun. A courtship will only make us official mates.

Then let's begin it. George said as he stood and she did as well. They allowed their instincts to take hold for this, and took to the sky, beginning the dance and such. They stared into each other's eyes as they did what was needed for the courtship. Their tails in twined with one another as they spun before releasing and they held one another as they fell and spun around while falling to the ground, yet their eyes never left each other. Before they could hit the ground, they released each other and flew onto the ground, now an official mated couple.

I love you. Saphira whispered as they Nuzzled each other lovingly.

And I love you. George said as he Nuzzled back. I vow upon my soul to protect you, Eragon, and any hatchlings we have from all threats. I vow to love you and be what you need no matter what. I will fight off any male dragon who dares try to take what is now mine as I am yours. I will be all you need, my beautiful Saphira. And because of my love and eternal trust for you...I will allow you into the part of my mind where you can see my full memories I want to share with you.

Are. Are you sure? Saphira asked hesitantly. He had NEVER allowed her or Eragon into that part of his mind where his memories can be viewed like Saphira can look at Eragon's memories. He didn't speak much about his world so this may be his way of showing it to her now that they are together.

Yes. But when it gets to some parts...you'll probably see me as a monster, as the being they called me during it. The Bladewolf.

I will NEVER see you as a monster.

He stared into her eyes for a good long moment and nodded before closing his eyes and pulled her into his memories, memories of his family, what he suffered during his childhood, his older brother and him gaining powers somehow, Daryl's betrayal and becoming Bloodwolf, their numerous battles, the war and the 20 years it raged on. And eventually it ended with him coming to Alagaësia. Once it was done, George bowed his head, thinking she saw him as a monster, as what the Prometheans believed him to be because of how fierce and terrifying he was in the war.

I still love you and do not see you as a monster. Saphira whispered softly to him and he looked into her sapphire eyes, eyes filled with love for him despite seeing how he was during the war. A hardened man he never wished to become again. A man he cessed being near the end of the war when he saw the pain of the families of his soldiers when the soldiers didn't return. He used to ignore their pain and focus on winning the war, nothing else mattered but after so much death...the hardened beast that was the Bladewolf was locked away. He still went by the name, but wasn't a cold, heartless leader anymore.

Leaning forward, George pressed his maw against Saphira's and it took the Dragoness by surprised when she realized he was kissing her. Though dragons did not kiss per say, she kissed back and pushed him onto his back so she was sprawled atop his chest, their maws still connected before they pulled away.

Saphira growled seductively as she gazed down at him and he knew what the last thing to do was to completely deal the courtship. He growled back and rolled them over so he was on top. A dragon had to show who was the dominant one in the relationship and his instincts demanded he be the dominant one, though he was certain it was his male pride.

Their maws connecting again, George's arousal came fourth and his two front paws gripped her hips. He broke their kiss and looked into her eyes, watching as her expression went to pleasure when their hips connected as he entered her. Bliss flowed through their bond as George began to move, luckily they were quiet and far away or else their two human companions would be scarred for life...

When I said this would be a rewrite, I meant it. In the original, George and Saphira got together at the Varden but it wasn't an official courtship. I had that happen at the Elves place and had tension because of Glaedr being there. That's not happening now because I feel you've all waited long enough for them to get together.

Since their officially mated, Saphira won't try and mate with Glaedr but George's instincts will make him wary around the dragon because he's a male and around George's female.

I don't know if hatchlings will be added during their time at Ellesmera as I am thinking of doing a little spinoff that's a How to Train your Dragon crossover.

Simply put: George and Saphira's kid or kids would fly and end up out of Alagaësia and in Berk, where they are found and, depending on POV,captured by Berk's riders. George comes looking for his kids and you know it won't be pretty when dad's a gryz especially when Mommy hers angry.

Like that T-Rex from The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
