Chapter 13 : Who are you?
Teng... Tong...
"Therefore, if you divide this- Oh, it's already the time. Let's end it for today," says the mathematics teacher when hearing the bell.
"Stand!" say the class president and the student follows. "Bow! Thank you for today!"
"Thank you for today!"
"Okay, just go straight home!" say the teacher with smile before going out of the class.
The class becomes a fuss. Some student goes out of the class while the other still stays to have talked with their friends. Chiharu stands up and grabs her bag and stands up from her chair. She notices two girls are walking to her direction. One with brown short hair and the other has pink hair.
"Hey, Chiharu-chan want to walk home with us?" ask the girl with short hair named Haruka.
"Un! We want to try new crape near the shopping district!" say the pink hair name Mio.
"Sorry! I can't today. I have to watch the club activities," say Chiharu and put both her hand.
"Oh right, you're the manager," say Mio.
"Maybe the other time? I want to try the crape too! I hear it is delicious." Chiharu says with a sad face.
"Nah, it's okay! The tournament is near after all. I will come and watch!" Haruka says and gives a thumbs up.
"I will come too!" Mio says and raised her hand.
"What... You don't know anything about tennis Mio. Ah, you just going to watch Tezuka-senpai right?" Haruka says with sweat drop.
"Eh! No-no! Of course, I come to cheer Chiharu-chan!" Mio says in panic and waves her hands.
"Well, I, not the one playing," Chiharu answers and it makes Mio face red.
"Oho, as I thought it is for Tezuka-senpai~" Haruka teased her friend.
"No! I mean, even though Chiharu-chan is not playing I still can cheer her right!? She... Right! She already does her best training the member! And... Uh... Ah! Echizen-kun is playing too! Right, I will cheer him too!" Mio explains with a funny gesture that makes both Chiharu and Haruka is laughing.
"Ahahahaha, okay okay. Thank you, Mio," Chiharu says as she pats Mio head. "Well, see you guys tomorrow!"
"Yeah, see you tomorrow, Chiharu-chan!" say Mio already calms down.
"Yup, see ya~ Oh, don't forget to say hi to Tezuka-senpai! It's from Mio!" Haruka says and gets Mio to slap her back.
"HARUKA SHUT UP!"
Chiharu just giggles and goes out of the class. As time goes by, she already becomes friends with both of the girls. Three of them become close because of the group project. After that, they spend time together at lunch. Haruka is a guitarist from one of the group band of the school. Then, Mio is a member of the handicraft club.
On the way to the court, Chiharu meets Kikumaru. Kikumaru who notices her first run and hugs her from behind, resulting nearly make both of them fall.
"Kikumaru-senpai, please don't started me like that! It's dangerous!" Chiharu scold.
"Ehehe~ Gomen gomen~ but Chiharu-chan never really spend time with me. It's made me lonely," say Kikumaru with a pout.
"But, I always accompany in the practice," Chiharu says tilt her head.
"That's not what I mean! In practice, everyone hogs at you~ What I mean is let's play together or go somewhere together! Why Inui and Tezuka are the one who closes to you!" Kikumaru says as he shakes Chiharu body while still hugging her.
"Okay okay, I get it but please stop hugging me, you're heavy!" Chiharu says as she tries to walk and drag her senior with her.
"Don't wanna~"
"Senpai,"
"Nya~"
"I will tell to Tezuka-buchou,"
"Not hear!"
Chiharu just sighs with the way her senior act. She ignores him and just drags him to the tennis club. Just as she arrives at the club, Oishi helps her.
"Kora, Eiji! Don't hug her like that! It's not polite!" Oishi scolds his partner as he tears Kikumaru away from Chiharu.
"Thank you, senpai," Chiharu says as she stretches her stiff shoulder.
"Mou, what with you Oishi! Chiharu-chan is really comfortable to be hug!" Kikumaru grumble.
"Wha- it's rude!" Oishi says.
Chiharu just sigh and leave the golden pair and walk inside to the court. She finds some of the members already inside and do some stretch or prepare the net.
"Shigeko," call someone make Chiharu turn her head to find the data maniac.
"Inui-senpai. Good afternoon," greet Chiharu with small bowing.
"Here the list of matches today," Inui says as he gives the paper that he holding.
"Oh, thank you. I see... Ryoma going to face Kaidoh-senpai again," Chiharu says after she scans the paper.
"Yeah. Anyway, do you know Kikumaru height and weight?" Inui asks as he adjusts his glasses.
"Huh? You don't know, senpai?" Chiharu asks in surprised.
"Well... I want to check my data," Inui answers as he takes out his book.
Chiharu looks at Inui weirdly. She just sighs then looks at Kikumaru who just goes out from the club room.
"Kikumaru-senpai is... 171cm and 52kg," Chiharu answer spontaneously.
"How can you know? Did you measure it before?"
"Of course not. I just look at him now. I think everyone can guess it right away," Chiharu says.
"Shigeko-san, can you come here for a sec?" before Inui ask again, Fuji cut him by calling Chiharu.
"Ah, hai! Sorry Inui-senpai but I go there first," Chiharu says as she walks to Fuji.
Inui just adjusts his glass again before writing something in his notebook.
"I get another data from her. Able to tell Kikumaru heigh and weight from one look. She really interesting."
Ryoma and Kaidoh have a match and it ended with Echizen winning. The first year is cheering for him. The most surprising is that Ryoma can do Snake too.
While Inui go talk to Ryoma, Chiharu decides to walk to Kaidoh.
"Kaidoh-senpai, here is water," Chiharu says as she hands out a bottle of water to him.
Kaidoh does not answer and just grab the bottle. He drinks it and notices that Chiharu still stands beside him which makes him annoyed.
"What do you want?"
"Well, I just want to say that you already did well. Unfortunately, you lose."
"Hah!? Are you mocking me!?"
"What? No! I don't mock you. I compliment you. Can't you see the difference?"
"Tch, just go away."
"No way."
"What!? You little-"
Kaidoh sends his deadly glare to Chiharu which she replies with a blank face. Kaidoh wonders why the first-year girl in front of him not scared and runs from him like what everyone else did.
"Just calm down. As a manager, I have to correct every mistake that the player did right? And it's also the job of the manager to make the player improve the skill," Chiharu explain before taking out a piece of paper from her book.
"Actually, I have thought of some training menu to improve your stats. I think it can help you to improve your snake, especially the boomerang snake. Do you want to see it?" Chiharu smile as she hands him the paper.
A small blush creeps to Kaidoh face when he sees his manager smile. He tries to cover it by grab the paper and read it. From the point of view Chiharu, she can only see Kaidoh half face from the paper. Chiharu just hums and decides to go back to the court but stops when she hears Kaidoh muttering something.
"Sorry?" Chiharu asks.
"It's nothing. Just go!" Kaidoh says while looking away.
Chiharu looks at him weirdly. Then she remembers something. She dug her hand to her pocket and pull out green bandana that has the same motif as the orange bandana that Kaidoh wears.
"Oh yeah, I want to give this to you senpai. I find this the other day and I realize that it is same like yours. I hope you like it. Hm... Just think that it's a good charm or something," Chiharu says and hand the bandana to her snake senpai.
"Okay then, bye! Go back to the court after you rest!" Chiharu says as she walks away.
"Tch, that stupid kid," Kaidoh says as he stares the bandana. He not going lie but the bandana that Chiharu gives it's the type of bandana that he likes. He just shakes his head, tries to erase the small blush that he has. He then looks at the paper again. "How can she make a training menu like this? It's really good, I never thought about this. I will ask about this to Inui-senpai later."
"Okay, the practice ends here! You guys can go home!" says Sumire.
"Thank you very much!" shout all the members.
All the Seigaku member starts to tidy up before they walk home. Chiharu looks at the data that she and Inui have to collect. She decides to stay late to check it again.
When she near the club room, she hears some voice. Peaking over the wall, she finds Tezuka and Ryoma are talking. She notices that Tezuka pulls a tennis ball from his pocket and throws it to Ryoma.
"What is this?" Ryoma asks.
"I'll be waiting for you at 3 pm, 3 days from now. Come alone. I'll bring the balls," Tezuka answer before walking away.
Decided not to get caught eavesdropping Chiharu decides to go inside the club room. Thinking that there will be no one who will go inside the room again, Chiharu decides to do her work. However, her mind cannot stay.
"What Tezuka-senpai mean... He asks Ryoma a match? Why he did not do it at here?" Chiharu muttering. She opens her book and looks at her note. She narrowed her eyes to a small note that she made.
Clack..
Chiharu looks up from her book because of the sound of the door. She finds the tennis captain was the one who opens the door followed by the vice-captain.
"Eh, you're still at here, Shigeko-san?" Oishi asks in surprised. "Ryoma and the others already went home."
"Ah, yes. I just sort the data a little bit. After this, I will go home," Chiharu says with a smile. "How about senpai?"
"We just going to grab our bag," Oishi says as both he and Tezuka grab their bag. "I think you need to go home now, it's already late."
"Well..." Chiharu says and averts her eyes from Tezuka. "I guess you're right. I will go home too."
Chiharu packs her bag. She notices that her senior is waiting for her at the door. After she finishes with her bag, she put her Seigaku jersey and goes out too. Oishi locks the door and give the key to Tezuka.
Three of them walk together. Sometimes talk a bit. However, Tezuka notices that Chiharu has been averting her eyes from him.
"Is there something you want to say?" Tezuka asks Chiharu.
"Eh? Um... nothing," Chiharu answer but Tezuka just stare her not believe.
"Is there something matter?" Oishi asks.
Knowing that she gets caught by the captain, Chiharu just sigh and scratches her head.
"Well, I get caught. First, I want to say sorry to Tezuka-senpai," Chiharu says make both her senior confused.
"Sorry?" Oishi asks.
"I sorry, actually I heard what you talking with Ryoma earlier. You can say I accidentally eavesdropping," Chiharu says with bowing.
"You knew?" Tezuka asks.
"Yes. Then the second thing. Why you ask to have a match with Ryoma. Why can't you do it at school? Why you have to have a match outside the school? Is there is the reason?" ask Chiharu.
"... I need to give him the message," Tezuka answer shortly.
"A message, huh? Okay, I will not ask whatever the message is. However, I will not approve you to have a match, especially a full match," Chiharu says serious.
"Wha-what do you mean Shigeko-san?" Oishi asks nervous because Chiharu using a serious tone.
"I forbid you to have one full of match. You have an injury, right? Your arm," Chiharu says as she points her left arm.
Hearing that, both Tezuka and Oishi are surprised. They know that they never told the member about the injury. But, how can Chiharu know?
Inui P.O.V
"Hm... Everyone has some improvement in today's training. It's a good data gathering today," Inui though as he flips his notebook at his bedroom.
"Especially, since Shigeko joins the group. It is easier to plan the training menu. Her advice was really good. How can she though anything like that? Especially, this..." Inui flips over the page of his notebook. "The training menu that she especially made for Kaidoh..."
Back to Tennis Court
"Senpai, can I ask something?" says Kaidoh when the match of regular finish.
"What is it?"
"Here, I want to ask about your opinion."
"Is this... Training menu? You made it by yourself?"
"No... Shigeko gave it to me earlier. I want to ask it is okay for me to follow it?"
Hearing that, I decided to read the paper. I hum and put a hand in my mouth. Then I look Kaidoh face, that waiting for my answer.
"Of course. It's a good menu. You can follow it, after all Shigeko is our manager. She knows our weakness that needs to be improved. Before that, can I copy it first?"
Back to present
"Hm... She is really interesting. There is no way an ordinary middle school girl can think of a training menu like this. She takes my interest since the first time she joins the tennis club. She is clever. She is strong too. She even has skill in tennis when had matches Kei. When I ask about Kikumaru, she even gives the exact data just by looking. I wonder who she is. There is no way that she only the daughter of Shigeko's group. But, what is it?" I wonder as I closed the book.
"Shigeko... Who are you?"

Hello, sorry for the long update! I am so busy with college. Luckily, finally, I have a holiday! I hope I can update more often! Thank you for your support! See you in the next chapter!
Oh yeah! This is for anyone who wonders how Haruka and Mio look! I share little about them too, because I don't think I can input the desc in the story!
First is Haruka! The girl with short brown hair. She plays guitar in a band. Her family owns a music instrumental shop, therefore she knows much about the musical instrument. She a cheerful girl that likes to prank her friends. However, Haruka really sensitive. She mostly knows and understands situation especially when someone is in love. Many students in her year even her seniors call her "Cupid" because she always gives advice about love and mostly it's work! Well, there is a time when it is not working too.
Next is Mio! The girl with pink hair! Like what I have told in the story, Mio is a member of the handicraft club. She really likes a DIY. She is really good at sewing and baking however really bad in cooking. She has a habit to change her hairstyle every day! Well, Mio is the type of girl that easy to bully but she is not the crybaby weak girl. :3 She kind girl but one who can't really keep a secret because of excitement. Little secrets, she actually falls in love at the first sight with Tezuka but always denied it by saying that she only a fan. She doesn't get along with Tomoka. Oh, another secret. She actually someone character cousin and I don't want to spoiler it, who! XD

Anyway, both of them are my OC too. They are only a side character, still, the main character is Chiharu! However, maybe they will help in the development of the story and maybe can join in the main story too! Just wait! Bye!
