There has been a massive update in the way the story is organised.
First, I cut down individual chapters to oscillate around 10000 words. The existing chapters that went beyond that (looking at you, you 40k words monstrosity) were cut into parts. Any future chapters that I will find unable to cut to 10k will also be split into parts.
Going over 10k is a definite overkill. I need to learn how to convey as much information as possible in as little words as possible. Hopefully, the future chapters will be characterized by more things happening as opposed to characters talking (even though I love long dialogues…).
Secondly, the narrative structure was controlled by subchapters that were separated by three stars and contained a single point of view per subchapter (with some multi-person and person-less exceptions). That was all fine and dandy, before I realised that the doc manager was cutting away the bloody stars! The chapters became singular piles of text jumping from character to character with no warning. Good luck reading the 40k mini-novel called ch6 like that.
Therefore, now subchapters are separated by those wonky mini-titles that point at who's point of view is that. Most of the time. Sometimes our troubled narrator is too distracted by what's going on :) Sometimes there are multiple povs going on at the same time. It is particularly prevalent in the first chapter.
Thirdly, the introduction was changed. Instead of the little exposition dump (we will have more of those anyway), there is now a certain troubled someone who is kind enough to give us subchapter titles. If I live long enough and manage to finish the series, you will get to know them a little better :)
Therefore: chapters 3 to 6 were split into parts, and the subchapters now have titles, for the sake of clarity and ease of navigation. As a bonus, I include the newest chapter, no. 7. The work on the next one will begin soon.
Stay cool and have a nice day!
