Frisk fell to the floor for the 8th time, and his arms cut severely, he had no way to return to his feet. Chara casually flipped her weapons into the air catching them. She seemed to be minding her business as he struggled there on the floor.

"What is the point of all this! This training isn't teaching me anything! All you're doing is killing me- over and over!" Frisk exclaimed, using his legs to raise his body.

"You were the one who asked in the first place," Chara said catching her weapon, she glanced at him, "You still have yet to see...until you understand, we won't be moving on"

"What are you even talking about, all you have been doing is killing me, what is there to understand"

"Correct, Frisk, I've been killing you over and over. It's not hard." Chara said.

"You-" Frisk stopped, he carefully analyzed what Chara had just said to him and repeated the words in his mind. He came to this stunning realization.

Chara stopped playing with her weapon and noticed his expression and smiled only slightly.

*snap*

"Bingo," Chara snapped, gaining his attention. Her head tilted with full demonic expression and smile for a moment.

"You..."

"Your battle prowess is severely lacking, regardless of how many people or monsters you've killed so far. That girl, Lizty, was it? She seemed to have taken pity in you. I could tell she was more experienced than she appeared to be," Chara stated, "She's probably capable of fighting me at a decent pace; however, Lizty still has a long way to go before she could defeat me."

"I don't suppose that confidence she has would make things difficult for you," Frisk said

"That's a tricky one...Let's hope she is someone who has experienced defeat countless times because then it will break her spirit to find someone she can't match in speed," Chara answered.

"Hold on, why would she allow me to gain the advantage and essentially rip her clothing,"

"As I said, she pitied you" Chara replied

"Yeah, yeah, but it wouldn't warrant her to make a mistake like that?" Frisk questioned Chara, and it wouldn't make sense considering what he learned recently.

"You'd be surprised what is possible when you lower your guard enough, Frisk."

"Even if you're battle-hardened."

"What?"

A bright light shined beyond Frisk, causing him to turn in surprise, several constructed weapons came flying at him. Frisk fell back to the floor, watching as Chara stepped forward toward him.

"If you wish to have any luck in this world truly. I'm going to have to give the first-hand experience in the art of battle."

After having returned, Frisk had his head hung to the floor.

"I can't teach you properly about combat, if it's training, training is lenient, and to be honest, kinda lame. So if you insist on wanting to become stronger, you're going to have to learn to dodge and counter my attacks," Chara rose both arms creating several hovering weapons that were immediate threats to his life.

"You have a sick way of teaching me," Frisk said coldly.

"Aw, don't act like that. You see, you're slow, you don't even react to my advances. You're standing still for me. So, if you ever want to learn from me, first you need to increase your speed,"

She swiped her hand forward, causing the levitating blades to rush towards him.

"I'll go easy," She muttered, having crossed her arms, seeing his panic expression after having only barely dodged them by a hair.

"You call that easy!" Frisk exclaimed, "Even if you tone the speed, I'm barely able to do anything other then dodge," He added.

"That's the point. Or have you already forgotten what you lack!" She yelled

The knives curved around him to cut him off from running. His eyes widened.

"She's crazy!" He said, sliding to a stop.

The knives are rushing towards him. He couldn't afford to run, so he tried dodging them individually and attempting to deflect them. A lot of them made it past his defence. Several cuts appearing along his arms and stomach

"To slow!" Chara shouted while Frisk gritted his teeth seeing more of them coming

He picked up his pace, trying to avoid them like before, but everywhere he landed, they were right there to greet him. He turned with them curving again; he was getting frustrated.

"This is annoying!" Frisk grew angry. Chara could feel his emotions; she gave into shock.

Frisk, in his anger, swung his arm creating a giant sword of determination it covered most of his body and used it's sheer size to block all of the attacks from Chara.

Chara squinted at what he had done — summoning more towards him. He rose the sword again, attempting to do the same as before.

"Such a fool," She muttered.

The trajectory of the knives curved around his sword, aiming at each point of his body, more cuts appeared on his legs, arms, causing him to drop the sword, it shattered upon impacted. He fell to the floor in exhaustion.

"I applaud you for coming up with a giant sword to block my attacks but to do it twice in front of me without changing up your strategy in some way. That's no good," Chara stepped up, seeing the cuts all across his body.

"At least I tried," He said.

"Perhaps, it was a good effort, but tactics like that are one-shots. They work once, but never again, especially for those who dealt with it before," Chara replied

"So, why'd it work on you then," He felt like he gained something from this.

"Oh? Feeling proud? Listen, I didn't expect you to do anything, so I admit I was surprised,"

"Oh really, so you were expecting me to fail so you could kill me again, is that it?" He said

"Of course not" Chara gave him less than a reassuring look.

"You know what I think, and you were stunned-"

Frisk's eyes widened, seeing her expression. The knife in her hand had already slit his throat. She was thus ending his life once more.

He came back into existence with a frightened expression.

"Can we talk about that!"

"Nope," Chara crossed her arms, saying.

"You-" Frisk saw her expression again and prepared for combat, seeing the dozens of knives being created right in front of him. They launched at him quickly.

They were decently separated, but he knew that they would curve in once they got closer.

"Wait," Frisk's eyes widened at this realization.

"She always controls all of them at the same time. That makes them more predictable," Frisk thought, "How could I not see that. Is it because they were to fast?"

"That won't work," He thought, "Her reaction time is too great. I'm better off trying to block or dodge them,"

Frisk stood there, having just let himself die. Chara raised an eyebrow to his disappointing performance. Seeing him return, he seemed to have gained a bit of resolve. His body radiated determination.

"Here goes nothing," He muttered.

Chara watched as he glared at her. She rose her hand once more, doing the same as before.

"Litzy told me that you could create weapons from the soul, it usually depends on the person," He remembered, "but she never said that they had to be weapons,"

So logically, you could construct anything you wanted," Frisk thought and lunged forward, rushing at the knives recklessly.

They began to curve towards him as soon as they did and were about to reach him. He changed his direction. He sprinted right; seeing Chara's quick reaction, he quickly lifted his hand, creating a wall-like barrier and pushed it forward. He didn't stop moving. The wall slid across the floor, covering his right side. The knives shattered upon impact as he rushed towards her as fast as he could.

"This is a new development," Chara seemed amused by his performance now. She was watching as he rushed towards her after having just done what he did. She slowly lowered her arm, seeing him move differently from all the other times.

"You have some guts rushing towards me," Chara exclaimed

"All the times we have fought, Chara always uses her distance with her enemy to attack with multiple knives. Her control is insane, so it makes it hard to close the gap, however, any time I or anyone is close to her. The weapon she uses is a knife..." Frisk rushed in.

"Nice try," She muttered, swinging her knife; however, Frisk stopped and threw his upper body back, avoiding the swing entirely.

"He dodged!" Chara was shocked

"I knew you would do that!" He smiled confidently

Chara's expression remained for a moment as they were still in position, but it faded into a smile.

"Oh yeah? What are you forgetting?" She said.

"What-" Frisk's eyes twitched towards another knife, one that was in her other hand!

Frisk stepped back, barely avoiding it, he fell on his ass, Chara closed the gap with both knives aimed at his neck. He closed his eyes on instinct, seeing as he was going to die.

But.

"What? I'm not dead."

"You little shit. You seem to have thought up a clever strategy."

"But it still failed!" Frisk said in defeat, seeing Chara back away from him, which gave him a sigh of relief.

"That's not entirely the point. All of this was to get you used to a portion of my speed,"

"So, you weren't trying?" Frisk felt worse now knowing this.

"Yes." She admitted

"But why, when do you ever show mercy, you even told me in the beginning that you wanted to fight like it were a real battle."

"That was before, and let's be honest; I grew bored after killing you so many times. Look, I like it, but constantly dragging it on is just pain. I don't have all day, Frisk, I must meet with someone," Chara glanced at him saying.

"Speaking of which, I gave you a lesson in combat. Now you owe me," Chara stepped in front of him, her hands at her hips.

"I did..." Frisk said

"You can't back out now, and a deals a deal,"

"Can we train like this again?" Frisk asked

"You are persistent. I will only ever give you what you want when I have something in return,"

Chara turned around after agreeing.

"Tsk, I can't believe I held back after telling him I wouldn't. Whatever, I got what I wanted"
