Chapter 17- It's not her fault!

"I believe that bad things happen in life to teach us how to look at good things in a whole new light."

Jaelyn's POV-

"What does this mean?" Rosalie asked. "Does this mean she is the cause for them getting sick?"

"It's not her fault that they're sick! I don't know what these dreams mean or if it's her power, but it's not her fault, it's impossible for it to be her fault!" I defended.

"We're not saying it is, but we do have to figure out if it is her power or not. It might not directly mean what it says. She might have played a small part in it, and that's why she had the dream. Maybe we all played a small part, we don't know." Jasper suggested.

"I doubt it. We haven't seen grandma in so long! How would we be able to have any part in this!" I was getting angrier every time someone suggested that little Rayna would have anything to do with this. There just wasn't any way that she could do anything to help her get sick! I felt myself go calm out of nowhere and instantly knew it was Jasper trying to calm me down. I glared at him, but he didn't stop.

"Calm down, we aren't saying it's all her fault." Jasper said. "We're saying that she could have done something completely innocent but done at the wrong time which caused this. We don't know, it could be anything. You have to consider it."

"I can't consider that my little sister killed my grandma! That's not something she would do! Have you not met her! Nothing we normally do would have this effect. Even if it's done at a wrong time, it's not possible!"

Edward sighed. "Jaelyn. Calm. Down. You can't think rationally about this when your this mad."

I took a deep breath and said, "nothing will change my mind about this. It is not her fault and it never will be. Nothing will change that." And with that, I walked to my room.

Rayna was still asleep, so I sat down next to her and watched her peacefully sleep. Joslyn walked in and sat down on the other side of Rayna.

"You think it's her fault, too, don't you?" I asked.

"Not completely. We don't know how she got sick; we don't know what the dream means. I highly doubt that it's completely her fault. But there is a chance that it could be partly her fault. Like 1% her fault or something. We don't know. But we will try our best to figure it out. And we won't give up."

"Ugh. It's impossible for it to be her fau-" I was cut off by a phone ringing downstairs. I picked up Rayna and ran to the phone. Simeon was the one who answered it.

"hello?... It's Simeon... No... yes... ... wha-...how?... that-that's not possible... ok, I'll tell them... how did they get sick?... oh, ok... thanks, we will. bye..." Simeon hung up the phone and turned to us with a sad and confused smile.

"who was it? What happened?" I asked.

"three more of our relatives are sick..." he frowned.

"what? How? Did they visit grandma?" Joslyn asked.

"No, they didn't visit grandma. That's why I'm confused..." his voice trailed off at the end.

"Let me guess, you can't know this still?" I asked.

"Yup, I still can't know. And I have no idea why..." he said.

"Should we tell Carlisle to help them?" I asked.

"not sure what he'd be able to do, he has to stay with mom and dad." Simeon reminded us.

"Yea, but he should still know." I said.

"I'll call him later." Esme said from another room.

"Ok." Simeon said.

"How did they get sick? That might help figure out how to prevent it." Joslyn asked.

"They don't know. One day they were completely fine, the next they were coughing and out of energy. It came out of nowhere." Simeon explained.

"Well that helps..." I sighed.

"If anything, we know less than we did before." Joslyn said. "Before we thought that grandma caught it from somewhere and spread it to our parents. Now we know that they got it randomly."

"how are we ever going to figure this out?" I groaned.

"which relatives got sick?" Joslyn asked.

"He didn't say... they were all our species though. He told us to be careful and stay healthy." Simeon said.

"who was the one that called?" I asked.

"Grandpa did." Simeon responded. "He said he and Carlisle are fine, they're not sure why they haven't gotten sick. If mom and dad are sick, they should be too, but they aren't."

"This is so weird... why can't it be an easy fix? Why does it have to be so hard?" Joslyn groaned.

"We can't give up; we have to figure this out. No matter how hard it is..." I sighed.

"Somehow... there must be a cure, right? It's not discovered, but there has to be one, right...?" Joslyn asked asked.

"We just have to figure it out. And we will... somehow..." I said.

A/N

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you had a great Christmas! I got an iPad with a keyboard case, so it's basically a laptop. I can't submit the chapters until I have a computer because my laptop won't let me update for some reason. I hope you liked this chapter! I don't know what I think about it, but this revealed some information! Any guesses on how they're getting sick? This one is easy to guess if you remember all information starting from the prologue. I'm thinking of having another contest, if people will do it. First person to figure out how they are getting sick and why they don't know how they're getting sick gets to create an OC! The first part is easy, just reread the prologue. That might give you an idea! The second part you must use your imagination and put the few clues together to figure it out! Good luck!

P.S if this came out as a code, then i will fix it ASAP. the computer I'm working on won't let me use Microsoft word so i have to use the copy and paste option. if it's not a code. just ignore this.
