Kisshu walked slowly, carrying Ichigo with him who seemed to be only half awake and unable to walk. It seems that the the necklace had drained a lot of energy out of her. He held her tightly and felt a sigh of relief when he saw Pai and Taruto above him. He was just about to ask for help until her felt a strike of lightning flash across his eyes, which just missed them by an inch length. He blinked a couple of times, confused by the sudden attack. It took a couple of seconds to register in his brain where it was coming from. It couldn't be...

Pai held the weapon in his hand with a firm grip. As shocked as Kisshu was, this time he was prepared and managed to dodge the attack as soon as Pai waved his arm towards them, sending more lightning. But with Ichigo's weight in his arms, he wasn't as fast as he could be, and this time it struck his leg.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Kisshu shouted, staring at Pai. He couldn't believe what was happening and he didn't know how to react to this sudden betrayal. No cynoclon would hit another cynoclon. They were fighting against the Earth in an unified team. And more importantly, Pai was like his brother.

Pai didn't utter a word and Taruto, who was floating beside him couldn't even look at him in the eye. After a couple more strikes when Kisshu couldn't keep it up any longer, he heard more shouting from a far distance.

"Stop attacking her!" Someone shouted.

A girl in blue ran along with more people by her side.

"I'll deal with the attackers. Mint you attack from the other side!" Zakuro shouted, leaping forward ready to pounce on Pai, "Mint cover me from the other side!"

"Sure thing," she didn't need to be told twice, "Pudding! Lettuce! Make sure they can't attack Ichigo!"

'The Mew Mews always seemed to be able to work perfectly with each other,' Kisshu thought to himself who was slowly losing more and more blood, leaving a trail behind him. He needed to get out of there fast. Luckily, the Mew Mews managed to give him more time and distract Pai for now. If he doesn't take advantage of this situation, he may not make out of this alive. As soon and Lettuce and Pudding left their side and started to attack, he used his last bit of energy to teleport out of that place, after which he collapsed.

Ichigo sat down quietly in the bed. All her memories felt like some sort of dream. She stared into space, all her thoughts preoccupied with the most recent fight. She must have sat there for hours (or what felt like hours) trying to figure out exactly what happened.

(Exactly what happened:)

There was a massive attack with the Mew Mews. It seemed Ichigo was the one who caused the fight due to some necklace that managed the aliens control all her moves. She had no idea how it even worked but that must be how she had so many wounds in her body as the Mew Mews were left with no choice but to attack her. But she must have collapsed with some malfunctioning of the necklace and all her memories were fuzzy after that. Not particularly helpful.

What she couldn't understand was why the other aliens decided to then attack her. It seemed to her that Kisshu was also hiding from them. Which for the record was quite interesting the more Ichigo thought about it. All she had to do now was to exploit the situation and find a way to use them against each other. But Kisshu surely, was on their side and they seemed to be using Ichigo to control her so she could see no reason why they would try to kill her right now. The more she thought about this the more her brain hurt. Her body was aching enough as it was so she decided to let go of it and ask Kisshu when he returns.

"Hey kitten," Kisshu entered the room.

Ichigo's head instantly shot up.

"Don't call me that," Ichigo mumbled.

"I've come to check your wounds," Kisshu said, walking towards her.

Ichigo couldn't help noticing that he was limping. He must have been injured as well. As he approached her and examined her arm carefully, she started to feel a little guilty. She couldn't understand him at all. So far, she noticed that he had two sides: the ruthless killing machine that shows no mercy and a somewhat sweet alien that does care. Ichigo stared at him as he looked at her arm. Kisshu must have noticed it so when their eyes met for a slight second or two, Ichigo turned her gaze with a slight blush.

"What happened to your leg?"

Kisshu didn't say anything for a moment.

"Nothing."

"You were limping."

"You should be more concerned about yourself."

Ichigo opened her mouth to say something but stopped herself, "fine. But why did those aliens attack you the other day?"

Kisshu has yet to mention why they did such a thing. But it seemed Ichigo hit a sensitive spot because his eyes darkened and didn't say anything for a while so she let it go. Ichigo was tired of being stuck alone in a room all the time. This loneliness was absolute torture, she couldn't stand it anymore.

"Okay fine! You don't have to tell me anything. But please let me out of this room."

Kisshu raised an eyebrow, "You're injured and have a bed. Sleep."

As if sleeping will solve all of Ichigo's problems.

"I'm tired to being stuck in a room with nothing to do. Can't I just go with you? I promise not to annoy you," she added.

"You really think I would want to have you following me around everywhere you go?"

"Just..."

"Then how about I stay with you?"

"On second thoughts, I think I'm fine."

"Hey, that's not a very nice thing to say to someone that saved your life."

"You only saved me so you could use me," Ichigo glared at him.

"Still saved you. You would be dead without me."

'I would rather be dead,' Ichigo thought but decided not to say it out loud.

Kisshu sat down beside her, way more close than to Ichigo's liking. He held up her chin and for a while, examined her face. She blinked a couple of times before pushing him away.

"I said it's fine. I don't need you here!"

"I need you," Kisshu blurted out, taking Ichigo by surprise.

Kisshu slowly brushed her soft hair with his hand, "you're not the only one who's lonely."

Ichigo stared at him but didn't move. Why was he suddenly being so gentle with her? Ichigo looked at him, confused. But this was her chance. She needed to ask him as many questions as possible now before he turned cold and distant again. She just needed to keep talking. She was determined to find a way out of there.

"I thought you hated me," Ichigo said quietly.

"I hate your kind."

"Do you like me then?" Ichigo asked, remembering his weird confession from last time. Kisshu laughed but said nothing.

'This may come as a surprise, but I have in fact taken a liking towards you.'

That's it. Suddenly, an idea was born in Ichigo's head.

"Thank you for saving me," said Ichigo, despite her hidden intentions, she was sincere and truly meant it on that part.

It seemed Kisshu couldn't take it any longer. He pulled her towards him and locked his mouth with hers. It was for a short moment, only a few seconds but enough to take her by surprise.

"Well since you kissed me, can I use this as my payment to get myself out of here?" Ichigo whispered.

Kisshu's smirk grew wider, "That will cost you another kiss."

Ichigo rolled her eyes, "Go ahead."

This time, it was rough and desperate. Kisshu held her tightly and let his body lie on top of hers. It wasn't forceful, Ichigo had stopped struggling and he took this opportunity to explore her mouth with his tongue. He moaned between the kiss, caressing her leg. His soft lips rubbed against hers and Ichigo's moan followed soon after. She was so immersed into the kiss, she had forgotten everything in that moment. It wasn't until he let go,did she realise how much she needed that. To forget everything, even if it was for a short moment.

And maybe it was because she had truly shown appreciation towards him or maybe because he admitted that he felt lonely too, in that moment, Kisshu no longer looked like a heartless alien. His eyes shone brightly and with so much emotion that she could see it all. His regret, his sadness, his helplessness. It was as if he was revealing himself, like an open curtain she could only take a glimpse of. In that moment, he looked more human than anyone she had ever seen.

Hey guys. I haven't been writing for so long it's crazy! I nearly forgot about this story and as I was re-reading it I realised how much of a mess it was haha. The events in the last few chapters are in such a weird order so I know a lot is going on and I tried my best to explain what was happening so far in this chapter. I will try to move on with the story as fast as I can as I feel like there's not been a lot of progress. I hope all of you are doing well. Thank you for reading!
