Natsuki Kuga often got presents from Shizuru Fujino, her girlfriend. Shizuru often got her jewelry. At first, Natsuki was flattered by how sweet Shizuru's gifts were, but she eventually started not enjoying it. She was thankful that Shizuru was so generous and loving, but it made her feel guilty.

One day, Natsuki and Shizuru were at the mall. Shizuru was giving Natsuki some new jewelry, but Natsuki had a sad look on her face. Shizuru noticed Natsuki's lack of excitement so she asked, "What's wrong honey?"

Natsuki nervously answered, "I feel guilty."

Shizuru asked, "Why?"

Natsuki answered, "You give me far more jewelry than I deserve. They're beautiful gifts and I'm hardly the type of person that deserves to have them. I've only got you jewelry a few times."

Shizuru put her arm around Natsuki and sternly said, "Don't you dare feel guilty about this. Being with you is like receiving a key to eternal happiness. You're going to be talked about fondly in the biography that I'm writing for myself."

Natsuki lightly smiled and replied, "I appreciate how kind you're being, but that's the problem. I have a rough side to me. I often like acting like an edgy hero and beating up bad guys. I could never live up to the perfect amount of kindness that you have in your heart."

Shizuru responded, "Don't compare yourself to me. Keep being yourself, because I couldn't ask for a more perfect girlfriend." Shizuru's comforting words brought a lot of good feelings to Natsuki's heart. However, she still felt the desire to get Shizuru a special gift.

The next day Natsuki went to a jewelry store. She looked around the store to find something special to get for Shizuru.

The male store owner asked, "May I help you?"

Natsuki answered, "I'm looking for something special to get for the love of my life."

The male store owner asked, "How about a wedding ring?"

Natsuki blushed with embarrassment and said, "I'm thinking about something less special than that."

The store owner smiled and said, "I jokingly ask that to customers all the time. I've embarrassed a countless amount of people." He laughed.

Natsuki sarcastically whispered, "How kind of you." She looked around and saw a green necklace. It looked fancy, but a little old. She pointed to the necklace and asked, "Do you know what year that necklace is from?"

The store owner answered, "It's about sixty years old. I've had a hard time finding anybody who will buy it."

Natsuki said, "I'll buy it."

The store owner replied, "Thank you. I was worried that I would have to put the necklace on sale."

Natsuki asked, "Don't you ever have sales around here?"

The store owner answered, "I sure don't."

A criminal, named Frank Meredith Romero, walked into the store. He had been a wanted criminal for decades, but he used his sneaky tricks and tempting bribes to escape getting caught. He was often considered to be a master criminal, but he often stole things just to be a sneaky troublemaker.

Natsuki paid for the necklace and was going to leave the store, but Frank walked up to her and said, "That seems like an eloquent necklace."

Natsuki replied, "It's a rare classic."

Frank had a smug smile on his face while saying, "That's what people often refer to me as." He was unaware that Natsuki had fought several villains. He thought that robbing her would be a simple challenge so he confidently grabbed the necklace out of her hands and walked out of the store.

Natsuki had a hard time believing how sneaky and confident Frank was. Natsuki tapped Frank on the shoulder. Frank looked behind him and said, "Greetings young lady. I've been a master criminal for decades, but you millennials wouldn't know who I am. I'm a super dangerous and brilliant criminal so don't bother trying to take the necklace."

Natsuki confidently and easily grabbed the necklace out of Frank's hands. She started walking away. Frank was shocked, because he was used to any of his enemies having such an easy victory. He tried to not lose his smug confidence while running after Natsuki.

Natsuki whispered, "This guy's a fool for trying to rival against me." Frank was a much faster runner than Natsuki thought he would be. He managed to run in front of her. He pushed her to the ground and grabbed the necklace.

A woman saw Frank and asked, "What's going on?"

Frank tried to talk in a charming voice while asking, "What do you mean?"

The woman said, "The girl who was running by you is on the ground."

Frank was known as being a master of lies so he said, "I'm that girl's running mentor. She fell down during practice. I tried to help her, but kids these days want to do everything themselves."

Natsuki whispered, "I'm not a kid."

The woman saw the necklace and said, "That's a very nice necklace."

Frank replied, "Thank you. My girlfriend is going to be impressed by this old-fashioned, but well made necklace."

The woman smiled and said, "Your girlfriend's lucky to be with somebody as charming as you."

Frank felt proud of himself while saying, "Thank you. People tell me that all the time. Getting so many boastful comments can make me feel bad at times, but I can never turn down a compliment from the charming and polite people of the city."

Natsuki was ticked off at Frank's boastful antics. She ran up to him and punched him. Frank tried to kick Natsuki, but she punched him into a nearby table. She grabbed the necklace. Natsuki said, "Don't try to mess with me. I'm one of the heroes of the city. I've battled plenty of criminals."

Frank still retained his confidence while asking, "Do you think that's impressive? I've been one of the most dangerous criminals in the world since 1966."

Natsuki asked, "Who are you?"

Frank said, "I'm Frank Meredith Romero. I've been infecting the easily tricked citizens of the city with all of kinds of things including bad riddles, evil penguins, and clownish antics."

Natsuki pretended to be impressed by Frank's career while saying, "I usually don't give compliments to evil people, but what you did blows my mind. I would like to honor you for your impressive career by giving you the necklace and staying out of your hair."

Frank replied, "Thank you. Your generosity is appreciated." Natsuki put a fake necklace that she made out of tin foil in Frank's jacket and walked away. Frank was so proud of himself that he didn't bother to look at the necklace.

Frank walked around the city while looking like one of the happiest citizens of the city. A police officer saw Frank and said, "You seem really happy."

Frank replied, "I sure am. I got the best necklace in the city. He pulled out the tin foil necklace out of his jacket.

The police officer sarcastically said, "Amazing." Frank was surprised and upset about Natsuki outsmarting him.

When Frank pulled out the tin foil necklace, a note fell out of his jacket. It was a note that was written by Natsuki. The police officer picked it up and noticed that it said, "This man is a wanted criminal that's called Frank Meredith Romero."

The police officer put handcuffs on Frank and said, "I recognized your smug appearance. You're finally going to face justice." Frank's smug confidence started going away. He nervously started thinking about an escape plan.

The next day Natsuki drove to Shizuru's house and knocked on the door. Shizuru opened it and asked, "What's going on?"

Natsuki smiled and answered, "I finally got you a present."

Shizuru said, "You give me presents everyday."

Natsuki asked, "What do you mean?"

Shizuru answered, "Every day that I spend with you is a priceless treasure that gives my heart the wealth of genuine love."

Natsuki blushed and said, "That's precious of you, but I want you to receive this gift." She handed the necklace to Shizuru.

Shizuru said, "It's quite beautiful. It's one of the nicest gifts that I've ever gotten, but your love is the nicest gift of all." Natsuki blushed again.

Natsuki said, "I have another gift to give you."

Shizuru asked, "What is it?"

Natsuki answered, "It's not very fancy, but it's going to be important. Lets go pick it up from a special rival of mine."

A half hour later Frank was in his cell and was trying to make a key out of the tin foil, but Natsuki grabbed the tin foil out of his hands and gave it to Shizuru. Natsuki said, "I've heard that you can make escape routes out of the most mundane items so I needed to take that back." Frank shook his fist at Natsuki.

Shizuru used the tin foil to make a paper heart and said, "Thank you Natsuki. You win my heart every time." Natsuki and Shizuru kissed each other and exchanged several happy blushes. They often got each other gifts, but no gift could compare to the gift of love that they gave to each other every day.
