Episode 16: Master Hand's Happy Hunt
Remaining Competitors: Samus, Cloud, Isabelle, Link, Ryu, Marth, Captain Falcon
We start with Sakurai giving the recap.
"Last time on Super Smash Island," Sakurai said, "everyone got to put their pedal to the metal with homemade go karts. New allies were made in the form of Link and Ryu. The race was a tough one, but in the end Mac took a KO taking a hit from Marth that would have hit Samus. Cloud won won the race, but Mac was injured beyond belief and put out of commission. Mac was deemed to injured to go any further, so it was time for him to go. Now, only seven remain. What's in store for them today? Who will be the unlucky one to go home? Find out right here, right now, on Super...Smash...Island!"
Cue intro
We start in the boys' cabin, with Captain Falcon sitting in there by himself, feeling down.
"Sigh." He said.
Then, Link comes in.
"Hey, Cap, you alright?" Link asked, "You haven't came out of here all day. What's going on?"
"Well, I guess I still really miss Mac." Falcon said.
"Look," Link said, "I know you and him were close, but just don't let that be all you think about. You're one of the cheeriest, happy-go-lucky guys I know."
"Look, I get what you're saying," Falcon said, "but it's just not the same without him. I can't move on that quickly."
"That's why you keep moving forward." Link said, "It's not like you'll never see him again."
He then thinks about what he just said for for a moment.
"You're right." Falcon said, "Why did I not figure this out sooner?"
"See? That's the way to go about it." Link said.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Link.
"I see myself as the master of giving pep talks." Link said, "We're allies right now, so we gotta make sure we're all ready and prepared. If he was feeling like that, just imagine how Samus must be feeling."
End of Confessional
Me then move outside, with Samus sitting out there alone, gloomy and lost in thought. She was wearing the hood tnat Mac gave her. Then, Cloud comes up to her and sits by her.
"Look, I just want to be alone right now." Samus said.
"Hey, I only wanted to talk to you for a moment." Cloud said, "I know how you're feeling, losing someone you love in this game. I know that pain."
"Yeah...but.."
"But what?"
"How do you get over it all?" Samus asked.
"I dont," Cloud said, "but I don't let it hold me back. I don't forgive or forget, but I use it to strengthen myself."
"Are you saying I should do the same?" She asked.
"It's up to you." He said, "I just wanted to give you my opinion on it since I sympathize with you."
"You know what? Thanks." She said.
"Anytime." He said, "By the way, that hood looks good on you."
He gets up and starts to walk away.
"Hey, wait! I want to ask you something." Samus said.
"No." Cloud said.
"What? I didn't even ask you my question yet." She said.
"I know what you were gonna ask." Cloud said, "You want me join your little group, and I still refuse."
"But why?" She asked.
"This is something I have to do by myself. Thanks, but no thanks."
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Samus.
"Man, I can never tell what he's thinking." She said, "Out of everyone else here, he just wants to work alone. Anyway, at this point, I don't care if I win, but as long as I get rid of Marth, I don't care what happens after that."
End of Confessional
She then heads back and sees the rest of her alliance.
"Ah, there you are." Ryu said, "We were worried about you."
"Are you feeling any better?" Isabelle asked.
"Yeah, a bit better." Samus said.
"Yeah, we miss him too." Isabelle said, "In a way, he was kind of like the glue that bound us together."
"You're right!" Falcon said, "From here on, let's give it our all for Mac! What do you guys say?"
They all nod in agreement, when Marth walks up to them.
"Ugh! What do you want?" Samus growled.
"What?" Marth said sarcastically, "Can't I just walk by to see how my fellow competitors are doing?"
"You got some nerve talking to us after what you pulled." Samus said.
"Aww, do you miss your little bowl of Mac and cheese?" Marth taunted.
Samus then lunges at him to hit him, but Ryu and Link are holding her back.
"Your ass is grass and I'm the lawn mower!" Samus yelled, "Don't you dare talk about him like that again! He almost died cause of you! I'm gonna beat you right here and now!"
"Take it easy, Samus." Link said.
"Oh, I'm so scared." Marth said mockingly.
They all are interrupted when they hear a loud whistle, which turned out to be Sakurai.
"Ahem." Sakurai said, "You can fight stuff out on your own time. For now, it's time for today's challenge."
They let go of Samus.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Samus.
"The pig got lucky this time." She said, "I'm this close to snapping his neck."
End of Confessional
CAnyway, today's challenge will be a little more of a simple one." Sakurai told them.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Captain Falcon.
"Well, after the last challenge," he said, "it's nice to see he's taking it easy on us. Maybe he's a decent guy after all."
End of Confessional
"And what's your definition of simple?" Marth asked skeptically.
"Today, you're all going to be hiding." Sakurai said.
"Wait, is this gonna be like the paintball challenge?" Link interjected, "Because that's what it's sounding like."
"You know, one of my biggest pet peeves is being interrupted." Sakurai said sounding aggravated.
"My bad." Link said.
"As I was saying before I was RUDELY interrupted," Sakurai continued, "is that you're all going to hide. Today, you all are the hunted."
"So who's the hunter? You?" Cloud asked.
"No. Master Hand will be." Sakurai said.
Master Hand comes out and waves at everyone evilly.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Marth.
"Ugh, not another challenge with him!" Marth said.
The confessional then transitions to Link.
"After the whole boot camp challenge," he said, "I really don't want another challenge with Master Hand involved."
End of Confessional
"Now, if you all look," Sakurai explained, "Master Hand has with him a water gun filled with black squid ink. You all will hide, and Master Hand will try to find you and shoot you. Get inked, and you're out. But there's a twist.
"Sigh. Of course there is." Cloud said.
"Those that are out actually get to help Master Hand track down the other hiders." Sakurai told them.
"And don't think I'm gonna go easy on you maggots!" Master Hand said, "This water gun has enough force to dent steel."
"Okay, that's a red flag." Falcon said.
"For now, you all get thirty minutes to hide." Sakurai said.
"Oh, I'm going to enjoy this." Master Hand said devilishly.
He then starts pumping up the gun, making the others worried.
"And your time starts now!" Sakurai said.
They all run off in different directions.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Marth.
"For now, my best bet is to make sure no one at all can find me." He said, "I'm sure after any of them are caught, they're going to try to find me. To that I say, let them try."
End of Confessional
Link is busy walking through the woods.
"Okay, camouflage didn't work for me last time," he said, "so I guess I need to think outside the box."
Link then gets an idea.
"That's it! He'll never look there!" He said.
Then we see Captain Falcon up on the trees, trying to act like a bird, down to sitting in a nest with them.
"Nice place you got here." He said to the birds.
The birds are annoyed with him and push him off, making him fall to the ground.
"Well, so much for that." He said.
He then hears a someone coming up behind him.
Cap then turns around and puts up his hands ready to karate chop.
"Who goes there?!" Falcon yelled.
"Wait. It is only me." Ryu said.
"Oh, it's just you." Falcon said, "What are you doing?"
"I had the idea that instead of hiding in one spot," Ryu explained, "I should stay on the move to lessen the chance of being caught."
"Hey, that's not a bad idea." Falcon said, "Maybe I should try that, too."
"I wish you luck." Ryu said, "May one of us in our group win.
Then the two of them go their separate ways. We then move to Isabelle, who actually was hiding in the kitchen, more specifically, in one of the cabinets. She then slowly opens up the cabinet door to look around.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Isabelle.
"It's a good thing Crazy Hand wasn't in the kitchen,"she said, "otherwise it'd be harder to find a better hiding spot than here."
End of Confessional
She quietly steps out and looks around.
"Looks like he won't find me here." She thought to herself.
She then looks over at the fridge.
"Well...I guess I am feeling kinda thirsty." She said.
She tiptoes over to the fridge, opens it, and pulls out a can of soda.
"Carefully…" She said.
She slowly tries to open the can, and as soon as the can makes that sound when you open it, the door breaks open, and it turns out to be Master Hand. Isabelle sees this and has a horrified look on her face.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Isabelle.
"I think my life flashed before my eyes in that very moment." She said.
End of Confessional
"You didn't think I was gonna look here, you little runt?!" Master Hand said.
Isabelle is just standing there shaking.
"Look, I'll go quietly. Just don't shoot!" Isabelle said.
"Sorry, but it doesn't count unless you're inked." Master Hand said.
He starts pumping up the gun and takes aim at her.
"Thanks for making this too easy." He said.
He shoots out the ink and Isabelle just jumps and back flips out of the way.
"So, wanna play hard ball, huh?" He said.
He then keeps shooting at her, but she's pulling off acrobatic flips, and has a Matrix moment by bending back to dodge the ink. Master Hand starts to get mad and actually manages to get a hit on her directly in the chest. She falls to ground, and Master Hand goes up to her and starts to look worried. She's just laying on the ground not moving.
"Oh god...not again." Master Hand said freaking out.
He then starts having some "flashbacks". Then Isabelle opened up her eyes.
"Really had you there for a second." She said.
"Whew, thank goodness." He said "Anyway, now you come with me. You'll be helping me track down the others."
The two of them leave the kitchen and start looking for the others. We then move to Cloud, who is hiding in the bathroom. He's in one of the stalls, standing on the toilet, making sure he's not seen.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Cloud.
"I just want this to end as soon as possible." He said, "That bathroom is the best place for me to hide, but it smells worse than this outhouse."
End of Confessional
Then we move to Samus, who is jumping from tree to tree trying to stay on the move. We then see Link hiding in the boys' cabin, under his bunk.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Link.
"That's right." He said, "The cabins would definitely be one of the last places he'd probably look. Like I said, think outside the box."
End of Confessional
While he's under there, Link starts getting bored and decides to sleep under there, really sure that he won't be found. Then, the door bursts open and Link wakes up to this, feeling nervous. Master Hand is looking around the room, with Isabelle right behind him. She's the only one that notices Link under the bed, and she gives him a thumbs up, signaling that she won't give away his location.
"You see anyone in here?" Master Hand asked.
"Nope." Isabelle lied, "Maybe we should look somewhere else."
As the two of them start to leave, Link sighs in relief, but then sneezes out of nowhere, causing Master Hand to stop and turn around. He looks under the bed, and sees Link. Link just smiles and waves, but then takes a shot from the water gun.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Link.
"Man, this bites!" He said, "It was dusty under that bed! At least Isabelle was nice enough to not rat me out. Guess it's me and her who are out at this point. Wonder how it's going for the others."
End of Confessional
We then move to Sakurai
"And so, this hunt is already off to a quick start." Sakurai said, "Two are caught, while the other five are still staying hidden. But how long will their luck last? Find out after the break."
Commercial Break
We now move over to Marth, who has simply been hiding in a lake. He was using a hollow stick as a makeshift snorkel to breath.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Marth.
"Sometimes even I impress myself." He said, "My hiding spot is just genius. He won't find me. None of them will. For now, I sit back and wait."
End of Confessional
Marth is under the water, feeling very confident in himself, but then has a terrified look on his face when he sees that there is a shark in the water coming straight for him. Marth quickly gets out of the water, and sees the shark circling around the lake.
"So much for that. Now where am I supposed to hide?" He said.
He then has another idea, and a devious smile forms on his face.
Now, we move back to Cloud, still hiding in the bathroom. He hears the door to it creak open slowly, and he starts getting concerned. He hears stall doors getting opened, and knows it's a matter of time before he's found out. Suddenly, his door opens and is completely drenched in ink.
"You crazy kids think you can hide from me?" Master Hand said, "My military experience has given me expert tracking skills. There ain't anywhere you can hide where I can't find you."
"Guess he got you guys too, huh?" Cloud asked.
"Yep." Link said.
"Uh-huh. Of course now we gotta look for the others." Isabelle said.
"If that's the case, then we should see if we can find Marth." Cloud said.
"That's gonna be tricky." Link said, "Given how he is, who knows where he is?"
They all leave, but they don't know that Marth is quite a distance behind them, following them.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Marth.
"That's right!" He said, "I'm hiding in plain sight. As long as I stay near them, and they don't see me, I can just wait while all of those other clowns are pegged off one by one. That Robin guy thought he was so smart, but look how far my brains have gotten me."
End of Confessional
We then move back to Captain Falcon, still walking, when someone falls on top of him.
"Dumb branch." Samus said.
"Samus? What were you doing up in the air?" Falcon asked.
"I was trying to hide up in the trees," she said, "and I guess that branch didn't agree with me."
"So, you're trying to stay on the move, just like me and Ryu?" Falcon asked.
"Right." She said, "Wait...you and Ryu are doing the same thing as me?"
"Yeah." He said, "I don't know how many of us have been caught, but I'm sure Marth is still out there."
"You know, that just gave me a good idea." She said.
"Which is?" He asked.
"We are gonna go find Marth ourselves, capture him, and take him to Master Hand PERSONALLY. "Samus said.
"You know what, I wouldn't have thought of that. Let's go!" Falcon said.
The two of them run off to find Marth
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Samus.
"After all he put us through," she said, "it's time to end this. He's had this coming all season."
End of Confessional
While running, they happen to run past Ryu, and then stop as soon as they realized it was him.
"What are you guys up to?" Ryu asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" Falcon said, cThe two of us are going to hunt down Marth and take him to Master Hand to be inked. This is our best shot at getting rid of him. That is, if he already hasn't been caught."
"I saw Master Hand not too long ago." Ryu told them, "He had Isabelle, Link, and Cloud with him, so that means other than Marth, the three of us are left."
"Is that so?" Falcon said, "Perfect. Come with us, bro. Three on one, he won't stand a chance."
Their talk is interrupted when Cap takes a shot in the back, and they happen to see Master Hand.
"Well, well, well." Master Hand said, "Three more little piggies, ready for the slaughter."
"I'm hit." Falcon said, "Run, you two! Go find him! Do it for me!"
Samus and Ryu start running, dodging shots from Master Hand, and leave his line of sight.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Marth.
"After hearing that," Marth said, "it looks like Captain Falcon was telling them to find someone. Obviously, that must mean me! But they're not gonna find me, because I'm hiding by Master Hand. They definitely won't think to go near him."
The confessional then transitions to Samus.
"Looks like it's just the two of us. We're the last hope." She said.
End of Confessional
After running for awhile, the two of them stop to catch their breath.
"That was close." Ryu said.
"Yeah, but that means we're down a hand." Samus said.
"Wait, I sense multiple presences." Ryu said.
"How do you know?" She asked.
"My instincts don't lie." He said, "I can feel it's Master Hand and the oher caught contestants. But...I sense someone else near them."
"Marth…" Samus said.
"More than likely." Ryu said, "I suspect he's hanging around them because that's the last place we'd look."
CWell, time to make someone who thought he was so smart look like an idiot again." She said.
They hide behind some trees and see Master Hand going by, with the others following behind him. After that, they see Marth sneaking up behind them, keeping his distance. The two of them then start to follow right behind him, but Samus suddenly falls all of a sudden.
"What happened?!" Ryu asked.
"I must've strained my ankle." She said, "Look...you're going to need to go after him. He's right there. He won't see you coming."
Ryu nods and turns around, and sees Marth there standing, since Master Hand stopped moving and is looking around. Marth is not looking back at them, more than likely not noticing them yet. Ryu is just standing there still as a statue.
"What are you waiting for? Get him!" Samus said.
"I... can't…" Ryu said.
"What?" Samus asked in shock.
"I can't." He said.
"What do you mean you can't? He's right there! Catch him from behind!" She said.
"Attacking one's opponent from behind is disgraceful!" She said, "I know he's a bad guy, but I just can't bring myself to do it."
"Now is not the time to let your moral compass be your guide! Get him!" She yelled.
"Forgive me...but I can't." He said, "I can't break my code of a true fighter. Attacking someone from behind is shameful."
"This isn't a fight! Hurry now or we'll be-"
She stopped talking as soon as she saw they were surrounded by Master Hand and the others.
"Caught…" she said.
Then, the two of them are inked with the water gun, and after that Marth walks up to them triumphantly.
"Well, you may not have caught me, Ryu," Marth, "but at least you still have your honor intact."
"We were so close." Falcon said.
"Great. He wins again." Link said glumly.
"Oh no!" Isabelle said.
"That was our best shot!" Samus said.
"Forgive me, everyone." Ryu said.
And right on cue, Sakurai is on the scene.
"And Marth has won the challenge! Immunity is his once again!" Sakurai said.
"Naturally." Marth said.
"Master Hand, I must say, you really did put on a show rounding them up. You're definitely getting a pay raise." Sakurai told him.
"Oh, you know, I'm just doing my job." Master Hand said.
"As for the rest of you, clean yourselves up. See you all at elimination." Sakurai said.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Samus.
"Damn it, Ryu! You had one chamce, and you blew it!" She said, "Doesn't he know that sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet?"
The confessional then transitions to Marth laughing.
"Man, that Ryu really made it easy for me to win!" He said, "With every passing challenge, I keep getting better and better."
End of Confessional
Later that evening, everyone is at elimination.
"Tsk tsk." Sakurai said, "All good things must come to an end. That is true for one of you tonight. I only have six smash balls. Listen for your name."
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Marth.
"Thanks for the easy win." He said, "And...goodbye."
The confessional then transitions to Samus.
"I hate to do this, but you messed up." She said.
The confessional then transitions to Cloud.
"It's such a shame Marth won. I don't know who to vote for." He said.
End of Confessional
Sakurai then starts calling out names.
"Marth"
"Cloud"
"Link"
"Captain Falcon"
"And Samus"
This then leaves Isabelle and Ryu.
"This is the last smash ball of the night" Sakurai said, "And it goes to..."
"...Isabelle." He said, "Ryu, your time here is done."
"Nani? Why me?" Ryu asked.
"Look, I get you have morals and a code you follow," Link said, "but in this competition, sometimes to you have to push those things aside to win. I really hated to do it, though."
"Yeah. We all hated it." Falcon said, "I hope you're not mad at us."
"It's fine." Ryu said, "I guess I just wasn't meant to win. I wish my friends good luck. Until we meet again."
He bows at them, and Samus, Link, Cloud, Cap, and Isabelle bow back. He then heads to the boat, and sails away.
"And then there was six." Sakurai said, "I hope you all are ready for what's in store from here on out. You're all safe. For now."
The remaining six leave the bonfire.
Confessional
The confessional opens up with Marth.
"Ryu would have been a really tough competitor for me." He said, "They might as well just give me the money. If they couldn't get me today, what makes them think they have any chance in the future?"
The confessional then transitions to Captain Falcon.
"I hate that we had to vote for Ryu, but we were so close." He said, "Our alliance's numbers are shrinking."
The confessional then transitions to Link.
"Honestly, I'm impressed I made it this far." He said, "But what are we gonna do now?"
The confessional then transitions to Cloud.
"The end is close. I just need to keep moving forward." Cloud said.
The confessional then transitions to Samus.
"Marth's luck will run out." She said, "Mark my words. As long as I'm still here, he's going down."
End of Confessional
"And so, we must say goodbye to Ryu." Sakurai said, "What kind of challenge will they have to go through next? Will Marth's reign of terror come to an end? Who will be the next fighter that kisses their chance at that money goodbye? Find out on the next exciting episode of Super...Smash...Island!

Authors Notes
First off, let me apologize for this one taking a little longer to get posted. It was done, but life reared its ugly head and I had to wait to post this. Forgive me. On another note, I'm just so excited that we're getting close to the end of the season. Predict away who you think is gonna win. The next episode is now at work, and the challenge is a request someone had sent me. It will be more of a Smash Bros oriented one. I'd like to know who you guys think will win, or what you thought of this episode. The next one will take quicker to get posted than it did for this one. I want to get it out by the end of the week to make up for how long this one took to get posted. Till next time;)
