Bella rubbed her arm as the nurse-led her to her fathers' room. The transfusion had gone well, and she was a perfect match for her father.
"here we are Miss swan. The doctor will be in to tell you of our fathers' condition."
Bella nodded and walked into her fathers' room. She could only stop and stare as she saw him.
Tubes and wires were sticking out all over the place. His head was wrapped in gauze and there was a feeding tube sticking from his mouth. Bella felt herself tremble. Is this what her father had to deal with every time she was in the hospital? The fear? The unknowing? How many times had she been in the hospital especially after she met the Cullen's? This is what her father went through. All alone. Sitting in a room worried.
"Dad...I'm so sorry." Bella cried as she pulled a chair up and cried into his unmoving hand. "I was so selfish and careless."
All those times she would wake up to her father, hovering over her red-eyed and wondering if he'd ever see her again.
"Ms. Swan?"
Bella wiped her eyes and looked up to see Dr. shoe looking at her with concern.
"Oh. Dr shoe. I'm sorry. so, what happened will my father be alright?"
"no need to apologize. Your father-"
Dr. shoe was cut off by a knock on the door and to Bella's terror Edward, Alice and jasper walked in.
"I'm sorry for interrupting. Love are you alright?" Edward crooned as he rushed towards her and held his cold hands over her face. Alice joined in by grabbing one of Bella hands and
"I'm sorry this is for family only." Dr. shoe told them.
"it's ok. I'm her fiancée" Edward told the doctor.
Bella studied the way Edwards's voice had change. He was trying to enthrall her father's doctor! Oh, absolutely not!
"Dr. Shoe. I relay don't want any visitors right now. It's all too much. I'm sorry Edward, Alice, jasper. You all need to leave. My father is in a very critical state and I don't want him waking up to you all here. Please leave."
"oh, Bella your just stressed out. Were here now. it's going to be ok. Doctor shoe. Would you mind telling us the state of my sister in law's father? I think she just anxious especially since the hospital has been keeping her waiting."
Bella growled. They would not dismiss her like this! All her hard work and progress would not be thrown in the trash.
Just as Jared was leaving ravens room the very people, he didn't want to see stood in his way, but one face had him take a step back.
"dad?" he greeted in confusion
"Jared!?" his father greeted back in surprise. "..son...you look...different? "
Jared grinned.
"I'm going through some things pop. But hey I gotta go. I'll see you all later."
"Jared." A harsh voice called. It was a voice that froze Jared and shook him to his very core.
His alpha
Jared had no choice but to turn and face his alpha.
"I've given you the time you needed Jared. Now its time to come home. Come back to the pack."
Jared could feel the air buzzing around him. it was concrete order that he nor his wolf could not disobey However, with his wolf ears Jared heard a voice. A familiar voice angry...and yet strong.
"GET OUT ALL OF YOU!"
It belonged to Bella.
His chabelita. Our chabelita, His wolf reminded. Without thought, Jared followed the sound. His alpha and whoever else followed.
The scene Jared came upon had his wolf see red. Edward Cullen had Bella pinned against a wall and on her right was a doctor with a needle in his hand.
Jared snarled and carefully but angerly ripped Edward Cullen off of her. His mind instantly closed as his eyes landed on Bella.
On her arms were black and blue bruises.
He hurt her.
He hurt her!
HE HURT OUR MATE!
It was in this moment that everything clicked for Jared and his wolf. In this moment they were one person and they had one goal in mind.
Kill Edward Cullen
Jacob Black couldn't believe his eyes. The leech had hurt Bella. His Bella. His best friend. He was still angry at her stupid decision to marry the leech and break his heart but the bruises on her beautiful skin overrode that. So, Jacob was the first one next to her side before the other leeches could get to her. he immediately took her into Charlie's hospital room and sat her on the chair.
"Bells? Bells? Can you hear me? Are you hurt?"
No response. Bella's pupils were dilated. What had the leeches done to her?
A shout from the hallway was heard. It sounded like Jared.
"we will not fight in this hospitable.!"
It was the voice of Dr. Cullen.
"Your coven members attacked a human! To my surprise the one that they were supposed to protect!"
Now that was the voice of his father. There was so much…power behind it.
"Bella!? are you sure!" Dr. Cullen asked
"we saw the aftermath! She's covered in bruises!" his father growled.
"Carsile it was an accident. I need to see her! Jared let go of me!" Edward Cullen hissed
" Edward shut your mouth this instant. You attacked a human! And your fiancée at that. do you know how this makes us look and with all this chaos around the hospital? How dare you embarrass us like this. Go home, Alice, jasper you too. Jared, please let him go."
There was the sound of hissing, a growl and then silence.
The door opened and staggering in was a trembling Jared followed by Sam, his father and Paul.
Jared stopped in front of the now comatose and frozen Bella and to everyone shock whined. An actual lupine whine.
"chabelita? "
No answer
"chabelita?"
Once again no answer
This time Jared cupped her face with his hands, and Jacob had to resist the urge to growl. What the heck was going on? Were Jared and Bella dating?
"Bella! snap out of it! don't let the leeches get to your head."
Once again no answer.
Jared's whine became louder and more soul-crushing and then suddenly he collapsed.
"Jared!" Sam yelled,
"we have to get him out of here." Paul urged
"what about Bella? and Charlie?" Jacob questioned
"take Bella! ill be here with Charlie." Billy spoke
The wolves hesitated. They would be leaving their chief alone on the leeches' territory.
"Dammit! Just go! Take them to old quil. Ill be fine. Just send a wolf to wait with me. The Cullen's are on thin ice as it is. Just go."
The wolves nodded but they were not at ease.
