The palace was abuzz with the news that the King was journeying back after a rumoured mystery illness while hunting. Servants and courtiers all ran around dusting and cleaning. The kitchen fires were cleaned and re-stocked with wood and food.
Katherine watched as her ladies busy around her chambers. She signed sadly. She had not had her monthly courses for around 3 months but she did not have any of the sign for the morning illness of being with child. She did not want to think about what this meant. She stood up and walked over to the window. She prayed that God would give her another child. But, she knew that it might never happen as the King no longer slept in her bed. However, she would still pray that her lord would gift her one more chance. However, she understood that she was going to have to seek advice from a doctor and her personal priest.
Wolsey was in his office reading state papers when he heard the first horns being sounded the arrival of the royal party. Sir Thomas Boleyn and the Kings friends had arrived back at court a couple of days ago to order the royal carriages be sent to Hever. Worsley agreed and sent word for them to be readied and sent to bring back His Majesty.
His research on the Lady Anne Boleyn had come up with very little. But, there were some issues. He could not find any record of the lady being born to the Boleyns. It was known that the family had had three children. Mary, George and Anne. However, it appeared that Anne was a mystery. There was a birth, christening record under the name Anne Boleyn but also a death noted under that name in the church record. Of course, mistakes were common in local documents but even the local people were confused. He would have to search over information from the courts that the lady had served in.
Henry seat next to George Boleyn across from Anne. He smiled as he watched Anne looking out of the small window. He knew that he had to learn more about the lady sat across from him. George smirked at the pair and silently laughed.
They passed through the palace gates and stopped in the courtyard by the entrance steps. George was the first to step down jumping down to the ground. Henry stepped down slowly next. Both turned to help Anne down. Henry lead the group into the palace.
"His Majesty the King!" shouted out the crier as he moved into the great hall.
Worsley and Katherine were both there it met him. Both curtsied and bowed to Henry with Anne and George doing the same to Katherine and Worsley.
"Husband, we are so happy to have you back with us," Katherine said. Henry took her left hand and kissed it. "Lady Anne, we have you to thank for the safety of my husband."
Anne bowed her head before stating, "I am just glad to help in whatever way I could."
"We must have a feast to praise," Henry announced.
"I agree," Wolsey smiled down at Anne. "I have everything planned for your majesty."
"George I am sure that you and your sister will want to freshen up from the journey," Henry said. George nodded bowing.
"Lady Anne I request that you come to my chambers tomorrow at sun up," Katherine asked Anne.
"Yes your majesty," Anne curtsied and followed her brother to their rooms. Henry's eyes followed her retreating figure. Katherine and Wolsey both noticed it.
