Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the story moves further forward as Naruhodo is now moving in to meet up with Naegi, having deduce his true identity and comes up with a way to persuade the ordinary boy to come with him without spooking him, not knowing that this won't be an easy feat…
Well then, read on and enjoy!
At his law office, Naruhodo is looking at the newspaper article where the picture of Makoto Naegi is shown, then he compared it to the sketch of Naegi's disguise of Mako Nimfomeniaku, where Mayoi and Mitsurugi watched on as Naruhodo began erasing the beard of Naegi's disguise and it shows that the two portraits are identical.
Mitsurugi is baffled on why this happened and why Naegi uses a disguise and yet he is unsure if this is really Naegi as he is said to have died and buried, though Naruhodo said there is more to this than meets the eye, as he believed that Naegi is alive and made it appear that he died and is on the run for a reason which would explain why he refuses to defend himself from the charges.
Naruhodo told Mitsurugi that he knows where Naegi is staying and he will try to persuade him to come along and open up, though Mitsurugi said if that is the case then expect some resistance from the subject himself.
"You'll be needing a lot of patience if you were to pull off that stunt…"
"Mitsurugi…?"
"Since he is said to use the disguise, and the way he resisted in accepting help back at the prison, I doubt that this boy is willing to go with you…."
"I'm sure he'll accept this time."
"Want me to go with you and…"
"No need, Mitsurugi. I can handle this."
"You sure, Naruhodo?"
"Yup. I can ACE this."
Naruhodo nodded and said that he will go to the hostel at nightfall and attempt to talk to him, as he is confident that Naegi will come along and told Mitsurugi and Mayoi that this will be quite a long shot but possible, and the two told Naruhodo that they are ready to help if needed. All he needed to do is ask and they will help him out.
"Naruhodo…"
"Naruhodo-kun…"
"If you need help, just call us."
"We'll help you."
"We'll be on standby."
"Just give us a call."
"And we'll be there."
"You can count on us."
Makoto Naegi - an ordinary teenage boy living with an ordinary family…living in an ordinary neighborhood and leads an ordinary life...however, his ordinary life was shattered upon discovering that he has stage 4 cancer of the brain, and was given less than half a year to live…
Given by an offer from a good Samaritan...Naegi took the chance and underwent a secret chemotherapy session in an effort to eradicate the cancer within him. Then, without Gekkouhara's knowledge, he made a secret chemotherapy session in secret, and an accidental overdose of gamma radiation alters his body chemistry.
And now, when Makoto Naegi grows angry or outraged, a startling metamorphosis occurs

The creature is wanted for a murder he didn't commit. Makoto Naegi is believed to be dead. And he must let the world think that he is dead, until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him
Ch. 16: ēsu bengoshi to futsū no shōnen
At his hideout, Byakuya the Kingpin is overseeing his organization's operations and is doing well until one of his men came and told him he has a phone call, which Byakuya sighed and decided to answer it, and the caller turn out to be Masaru Konaka, the CEO of Bluecorp and heads his secret organization, the Red White Enterprises, and Konaka is in a panicking fit after hearing about Mako Nimfumeniaku's ESCAPE, and he conveyed his worries to Byakuya, saying that he might get exposed.
The obese-looking crime lord sighed and assured to Konaka that everything will be fine, as it has little meaning to their joint operations, but Konaka told Byakuya that should Naruhodo make contact with Mako, the attorney would make a discovery, and that would lead to Naruhodo making an investigation which would lead to the two thugs' identification and everything else.
Byakuya adjusted his eyeglasses and told Konaka that he will put things in motion and not to panic over something that can still be rectified, assuring him that everything is under control and that the attorney will never expose anything.
"You can relax. I will handle everything."
"R-really?"
"Yes."
"…"
"I will have my men keep an eye out for that attorney. Then I will deal with him."
"You sure? You're going to take care of that lawyer?"
"Of course…so relax."
"W-well…"
Konaka appeared to be hesitant and asked again if Byakuya is sure about this, and Byakuya the Kingpin assured to Konaka that he has nothing to worry about and urges him to remain calm and collected at all times so that he will not have to worry about anything.
"Trust me, Konaka. I already made some contingency plans on what to do with that meddling lawyer."
"Really, Byakuya-sama?"
"Yes. I've been working on that for some time."
"…"
"And I already made preparations in dealing with him…and once he's taken care of, we can continue our joint project unabashed."
"I see…if so, I'll leave everything to you."
"Good man."
"Ha-ha…"
Byakuya's words somewhat calmed him and took the kingpin's word well, and there Byakuya instructed Konaka on what to do, as he hatches a plan that would solve their problems, and Konaka listened well, which he then asked if this plan that Byakuya hatches would work, which a confident Byakuya said that this one will work, and assured to Konaka that it will not fail.
"So…what do you say to that, Konaka?"
"Sounds wonderful! So wonderful!"
"Then you're at ease now?"
"Yes…yes I am!"
"Then make preparations. We will commence at once."
"Yes, sir! I'll get on it right away!"
"Good man."
"Ha-ha!"

Later that night, the scene shifts at a hostel, where Naegi is seen packing his things, for the time now is 23:45, and the teen boy is intent of moving out to the next city as he cannot afford to stay here, fearing that he might attract unwanted attention, especially after unintentionally turning into the Hulk and caused damage to the prison area, and he is sure that he might be followed by someone.
And there Naegi intend to use another disguise so as to mask the fact that he is alive and prevent unwanted scrutiny, so he decided to move out at nightfall so that there would be less people to see him, and he is wishing for a way to die for real as he felt cursed with the fact that would end up turning into the Hulk if physically and/or emotionally provoked.
As he packed his clothes and is ready to leave, the door to his rented room opened, where someone, dressed like a poor imitation of a ninja, but his mouth partially exposed, stood in front of a worried Naegi, and spoke to him in a calm tone so as not to startle the boy, and there the masked person attempted to persuade Naegi to come with him, saying that Ryuichi Naruhodo SENT HIM to pick up Naegi and put him under protection.
"Mako Nimfumeniaku…or rather, Makoto Naegi…I come for you."
"Wh-who are you…"
"The Daredevil…the man without fear…"
"…"
"Just kidding. I'm someone whom your lawyer, Ryuichi Naruhodo sent…I'm here to help you…"
"No…you got the wrong guy…"
"I know who you are…and I want to help…"
"I can't…go away."
Naegi carefully resisted as he doesn't want to get into any trouble, and does not want to get into a situation that might lead into becoming the Hulk, and told the masked stranger that he won't be coming with anybody, but asked the stranger what made him say that Naruhodo sent him to pick up the boy and why would the attorney go this far.
The masked stranger sensed that time is running out, and came up with something that might persuade Naegi to come along, and told the boy that he has something that would make Naegi go with him.
"Your life is in danger…and I wish to help…"
"I'm not going with anybody…"
"Okay then…I might offer you something so that you can come with me…"
"An offer…?"
"Yes."
"Then what can you offer?"
"How about this…?"
"!"
The stranger then removed the mask, and Naegi is surprised to see that the stranger is none other than Naruhodo himself, and he persuades Naegi to go with him saying he has a place where Naegi can hide and that he wants to talk to him personally and assured that his privacy will be protected, which the boy appeared to be swayed.
"So what do you say…?"
"…"
"You have my word…I won't tell anyone about your true identity. Come with me so we can talk, and depending on our discussion, we can work this out."
"I…"
"Don't worry. I only want to help."
"I…don't know…"
"Trust me, on this, kid."
"…"
After a minute Naegi is persuaded and went with Naruhodo, and the two leaves the hostel, where the attorney promised that Naegi's status will remain confidential provided that he explain why he came up with that disguise and why is he on the run.
Naegi appeared hesitant by Naruhodo promised that he will listen to him and help him in the best of his ability, which the boy eventually relented.
"So what do you say…?"
"I…I don't know…I…"
"You have my word…I won't tell anyone about your true identity. Come with me so we can talk, and depending on our discussion, we can work this out. Believe me."
"I…I…"
"Don't worry. I only want to help. I cannot leave you alone like this. I'm willing to listen to you. I promise."
"I…don't know…I'm not…"
"Trust me, on this, kid."
"…fine…"
As the two left the hostel, they are approached by several men and held them at gunpoint and they ordered the two to come along, which Naruhodo asked what this is about but the men kicked the attorney on the guy and told him to shut up and obey, unless he wishes to die right here and right now.
"Just shut up and come with us. You'll know what happens if you resist us."
"…"
"You too, kid. We can't let witnesses run free. But if you behave, we won't hurt you."
"…"
"Now come along."
"Yeah, come on…or else you want us to shoot you two…"
"…"
"…"
As the two are being forced inside a waiting car, the abduction is witnessed by Mayoi and she boarded a taxi while discreetly following the car as she contacted Mitsurugi about the situation, and there Mitsurugi instructed her to follow them but not let them see her as he will head to wherever the kidnappers took Naruhodo and there he will fight them off and rescue him.
Mayoi nodded and said she will notify him on where the hideout is and Mitsurugi tells her to be careful.
"I'm following the car, Mitsurugi-kun…"
"Okay, but be discreet…once you find where the hideout is, stay hidden, and don't let them see you."
"Yes."
"Tell me the location and I'll be there."
"Okay."
"And wait till I get there, so that we can formulate a plan to save Naruhodo."
"Okay, got it."
"Good."
