"I can explain!" Botan yelped. Remi watched on idly, arms still crossed as she waited for the two to stop their shouting match.

"For the record Yusuke, she's the victim in this. Of sorts. I pretty much hunted her down." Remi explained, feeling a bit bad the bluenette was being yelled at when all she did was to be harassed by a complete stranger and demanded to be told shit she really had no business in knowing.

"So you blackmailed her." Yusuke stated, raising a brow. "How, exactly did you find out? And how much do you know?"

"I overheard you guys talking with Shuuichi last week." Remi said, now glaring at the taller raven haired teen. "Care to explain everything? Botan here filled me in about you being the Spirit Detective and some other stuff, and I overheard just some stuff you guys talked about."

Botan suddenly got in between them, crossing her arms in an 'x'. "Absolutely not! Yes, she knows about some things, but we can just get Kurama to use the 'forget me not' on her! Her knowing about everything is dangerous!"

"If it's about me, I deserve to fucking know!" Remi shouted, starting to get irritated. "You can't just decide that for me!"

"…"

Yusuke looked in between them, quiet for a while before finally sighing. "What do you want to know?" Botan gasped.

"Yusuke!" She rushed to him, eyes pleading. "You can't!"

He shrugged. "She's right. She deserves to know. It's not fair." Letting out another sigh, Yusuke shook his head. "… Guess I should start from the beginning."

Remi nodded. "Preferably. I already know about you being the Spirit Detective, and about the three worlds, and demons, and what not. I want to know how I'm mixed up in all of this. Also, why it seems like I fucking forgot about all of the weird shit that's been happening to me since I came here, and why it was that I remembered it all when I overheard you guys, oh, how Shuuichi is involved in all of this, would be nice too…"

"I'll start from the beginning…." Yusuke sighed. "As for Shuuichi, that's something you're gunna have to ask him yourself. It's not my story to tell." At this Remi pouted. "Remember when I told you I died?" Remi nodded. "Well, it turned out that I wasn't actually supposed to die, and Spirit World gave me a choice to either be stuck in purgatory and lose my right for my soul, or work for them as their Spirit Detective. But I had to pass a test before I did that to get my body back."

"Okay. So what, you save the Human World and protect the Spirit Barrier and stuff, right? I heard you guys talk about something that I have that's directly affecting with it? Am I like- a-a demon?" Remi said, tone shaky.

"… Let's go sit down. This is gunna be a while to explain…"

(Several days later:)

Yusuke watched the annoying raven shorty from his seat, irritation slowly brewing as glared holes at the back of her head.

Either Remi didn't notice his intense glare, or didn't care, because ever since their little talk, it almost seemed like she was actively trying to avoid him. Heck, she had unceremoniously changed seats, or would even go as far as walk the other way if they happened to be in the same hallway.

… It was starting to get on his nerves.

The bell rung then, and he watched as she gathered up her things, and exited the class. Frown deepening,

"Tch!" Yusuke followed suit.

"Oi!"

Remi halted for a moment in her pace, before continuing to walk to her locker.

"I know you can hear me, you little shit."

She turned around. "Hmn, that's odd, I could've sworn I heard something just know. Must be my imagination or something." She brushed passed the Sarayashiki menace.

Yusuke caught her by the shoulders, stopping her dead in place in front of him as she refused to look at him. "Why the fuck are you ignoring me."

"How weird, it's like my arm got caught by something. Freaky. Maybe the school is haunted by ghosts." Yusuke growled at her.

"Cut it out you little shit! I asked why you're ignoring me?! Did I do something wrong?"

Remi glared back up at him. "Oh, I don't know, maybe it has to do with the fact that someone who I thought of as a close friend completely forgot to mention something insignificant, like, I dunno- having to play spirit babysitter for some random chick you have to befriend, because said rando chick is a spirit ticking time bomb that could decimate all of Japan?! Or, how about the fact, that none of this was made aware of to me?! Or that some guy named Kurama has been messing with my head and erasing my memories?!"

Yusuke looked away. "I already told you it isn't like that. Plus, we couldn't tell you because it's a matter of world security…"

"It's a matter of mine's too. You shouldn't have kept that from me!" She yelled. "What if things got worse and out of hand, and I lost control, or what if that weird dude showed up again? Wouldn't it be better if I was at least aware of why some creepy ass demon dude was after me, instead of freaking out thinking I had some sort of stalker?! I would want a right to be able to do something!"

"It was to protect you. Once you know about these kind of things-"

"-And I'm sure you know why I have his energy, but you just don't want to tell me."

"Goddam Remi, stop being so difficult and hear me out, will'ja?!" Yusuke yelled back.

"I can't believe you've lied to me, Yusuke!" Remi's eyes were starting to glisten now. "I actually considered you a friend!"

His silence only made her angrier. "You lied to me! Our entire friendship is a lie!"

Yusuke scowled. "That's a load of bullshit!"

"If I didn't have this energy in me, you wouldn't even know I exist!"

"Look, let's talk. I want you to hear me out, but you're not even letting me. Just hear me out." Yusuke said calmly.

Remi hesitated, looking away. "… I can't."

"Why?"

"… Because I don't know anymore. I don't think I'll be able to tell anymore if your being for real, or lying your ass off… I don't think I can trust you…" Remi looked up at him and instantly regretted it. A flash of hurt crossed his face, before he turned away, shoving his hands in his pockets. For a moment, Remi felt immense guilt and regret.

"I'm really upset, Yusuke."

'Yeah. You got every right to."

"… For the mean time, I'd rather if you'd just leave me alone, please…" She muttered.

His shoulders slumped. "… Sure. Whatever, I guess."

She heard him walk away, and as soon as she was sure he was out of sight, did the waterworks start. She pursed her lips tightly to stop herself from wailing out loud…

…She hated being lied to, especially by those she cared for and considered special, but…

… She hated hurting them the most…

Otoni looked up when he noticed the front door open, noting immediately how off Remi looked. He saw as she threw her bags hastily on the couch and paused when she walked into the kitchen and saw him.

"Otoni? You're here early."

He hummed in agreement. "Yeah, I got the day off from work today, so I wanted to stop by."

Remi seemed to think about something, before she gave him a bright smile, going over to the fridge to get a drink. "Aww, you reserve your free time for me?" She cooed.

Otoni rolled his eyes. "Don't. You're not that special." Remi laughed a bit at this, but, his brows raised again at the weird look she had when she sat next to him. "Something happened." He asked. Now that she was up close, he could see how red and puffy her eyes looked. "…"

"No, why do you ask?" Remi questioned, looking just a tad bit uncomfortable.

"Well for starters, your eyes look like you've been crying, and you have that kicked puppy look you get whenever you're upset."

"No I don't!"

Otoni smirked, whipping out his cell phone to point the camera screen at her.

"…" Remi sighed. "You wouldn't understand."

"Understand what?"

"Nothing." Remi pouted.

Otoni rolled his eyes, before forcefully resting her head on his shoulders. "Try me."

Remi peered up at him with slightly wide eyes before her face scrunched up. Otoni would've laughed in her face if it wasn't for the fact that hot tears started flowing out. He looked down at her in mild surprise, frozen on the spot as he felt her shift, wrapping her arms around him and digging her face into his chest. Otoni stood there awkwardly, clearly not having expected this. Even when her younger brother walked into the kitchen, stopped to look at the scene, then walked away without a word.

"You can hug back, you know…" He heard her muffled voice, looking down at the top of her head.

"Sorry." Otoni muttered back, before awkwardly wrapping his arms around her. "You caught me off guard." He said.

"Sorry." Remi apologized, sniffling. "We've never really hugged like this, huh. It's nice."

Otoni nodded. "I don't mind it. It's just, I've never seen you cry like this. So I freaked out." They both laughed at this. "Do you want to talk about it." She shook her head.

"No, I-I'll be okay… I've just been thinking about a lot. I'm really overwhelmed, and I just had to cry it all out…" She finally let go of him, still close as he still had her in his arms. "Was that my bro who walked in?" Otoni nodded. "… Great, now mom's gunna have even more material for her 'Otemi' ship." Remi rolled her eyes.

Otoni chuckled. "Well, let's not give them anymore source material then, haha!"

Otoni let go, rolling his eyes as they continue to talk…

Yusuke groaned for the seventh time as he watched the misfit gang of demons in disguise marvel at the tall, swanky looking buildings surrounding them. Jin watched in amusement, mischievous eyes looking over at his friend.

"What a predicament' ja found yerself in, Yusuke." Jin gloated, grinning at his sour look. "now don't be makin' that face!"

"Knock it off Jin, I'm not in the mood." Yusuke countered back.

"Weren't ye the one telling dear old Jin here not to blabber about nuthin? And you ended up blabberin!"

""It's not like I had the choice, and it wasn't fair to her."

At this, Jin softened his taunts, agreeing. "Yeah, she's right to be angry. You did lie, and she prolly' thinks everthin'was a ruse or somethin. In her eyes, she's hurt because she prolly feels like you betrayed her."

"… I can't believe you of all people is saying this….'

"Hey, Kurama's not here to tell'ja 'I told you' soooo…" Jin cheekily countered. "So what'cha goin to do now that she knows pretty much everythin?"

"Well, I gotta get her to talk to me, for starters." Yusuke said, letting out a deep sigh. "... Maybe i should train her."

"And?" Jin raised a brow.

"Well…" Yusuke scratched his nose, suddenly looking uncomfortable. "I don't know how I'm gunna do that. Plus, Kurama doesn't know, so I gotta save my ass from him too. He'll be pissed off once he finds out."

Jin nodded in agreement. "True. Well, for starters, I'd suggest yer suck it up to her for a while. Sure she said not to talk to her, but ye do consider her a friend right?" Yusuke nodded. "So show it. She seems like the type who likes to see actions over words. Just a simple apology ism't gunna get her to talk to ye!" Jin chastised. "She prolly wants blood!" Jin said, a bit too excited as Yusuke shushed him. People were starting to look at them weird.

"What the heck, Jin." Yusuke muttered, giving him a side glare.

"Women and fae's aren't too different, Urameshi!" Jin tsked, wagging his fingers as if he held all the knowledge on the world and was letting the Spirit Detective in on a secret. "if there's one thing they love more than mischief and drama, is revenge. All the more bloodshed they can see, the better. You better start groveling if ya want her to forgive ya."

"Oh please." Yusuke rolled his eyes. He looked down at his phone when it suddenly blared to life. "Oh shit, speaking of she -devils…" Jin looked over his shoulder with interest at seeing the topic of his conversation calling.

"Well, wat'cha waiting for the sky to fall on ya Urameshi, pick it up!" He spoke fast, as Yusuke spoke to the receiver.

"Um, hey."

There was a moment of silence before he heard Remi breathe out. "Can we talk."

"Uh, yeah, sure. What's up?" Yusuke answered.

"I mean like in person."

"Well, what's she saying?!" Jin angry whispered.

"… Is that Jin?"

"Uh, yeah."

"Where are you, I'll go talk to you there if you're not too busy with your tour gig…"

"I'm right at the corner of Yakizetsu Street, by the water fountain. Can't miss it."

"Ok, I'll be there in a few." She hung up.

Several minutes later, Yusuke looked up to see the familiar shorty raven approach him. "Hey." Her eyes glanced over to a grinning Jin. "Hi Jin."

Without missing a beat, Jin jumped off from his set at the edge of the water fountain, peering down at her excitedly. "So You've officially found out about the existence of the other worlds." Jin gushed out, causing Yusuke to chastise him. "Welcome to the club."

Remi blinked, briefly looking back at Yusuke. "Wait, he knows too.

"I'm a wind demon." Jin said simply, giving her a toothy grin.

"WHAT." Remi blurted out. Jin lifted up his baseball cap to show one of his long ears.

"Wait, you're not..?" She looked over at Yusuke. Her eyes narrowed. "You guys trying to start a non-human club or something?"

"…" Yusuke seemed suddenly very interested in watching the water ripples of the fountain. "I'm kinda not-sorta a tour guide for foreigners into the country… Said foreigners being that of the other wordly kind…" He trailed off..

Remi crossed her arms. "… You mean to say this is also some kind of Spirit Wordly Detective type shit like you've mentioned?"

"Yeah."

Remi let out a deep breath after a while. "… So, in a way, you're kinda like an ambassador representing the mortal world, and you gotta make sure whatever, uh- beings are going to eventually end up living here are suitable and safe, right?"

"Something like that. I get the final say to their visa approval to live here. Most are in this situation that requires them to leave their home place for their safety, so…"

"…" Remi said nothing. She looked down at her shoes for a while, before glancing up again. "So what, does that mean you have to monitor them and stuff?"

"Yeah."

"…" She turned to Jin. "What about you?"

"?" Jin cocked his head to the side.

"You said you were a wind demon. I didn't know demons could have wind attributes…" Remi joked, unsure of how to continue her words.

Jin grinned down at her, eyes twinkling. "There's a lot of things yer yet to know about demons then, girly." He said cheekily. "But to answer your question- I'm a proxy Spirit Detective. I'm just here to help out Urameshi over here."

"Oh. Haha, how did you know that was my next question."

Jin leaned closer to only stick out his tongue, causing Remi to laugh a bit. Jin lifted his hat to show his long ears, wriggling them around comically. Remi laughed even harder at this, reaching over to lightly pull at his ears.

"Aww, you look like an elf!"

"A distant cousin." Jin chuckled.

Yusuke rolled his eyes. "If you guys are done flirting…" He narrowly avoiding getting hit in the face with a backpack. "So violent, jeez! Anyways, I gotta make sure the rest of the dweebs aren't jeopardizing their covers." Yusuke turned to leave before he was stopped by Remi.

"Wait, I can help."

Yusuke raised a brow at her. "Excuse me?"

Remi looked down at the floor for a bit before she met his gaze again. "Well, the whole purpose for this is to get them as assimilated into the mortal world as they can for their safety, right?" Remi started of, smiling a bit. "… So wouldn't the best way would be for them to interact with a local? You know, to experience first hand possible interactions they might have."

Yusuke scoffed. "And what do you think I've being doing this whole fucking time?"

Remi rolled her eyes. "Well, they're obviously not going to do that if it's you, dickwipe!"

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!"

"No offense, but I've seen how they look at you. And after finding out that you're the Spirit Detective, I don't think it's the best idea. I mean, they sure as hell don't show it much, but it almost seems like they're afraid of you." Remi pointed out.

Yusuke looked away with indifference. "Well, I don't exactly have the best reputation."

Remi's brows burrowed at this, but the short raven haired girl decided not to question his words. "I think a fresh new face- particularly not Spirt Word related- will make the a bit more comfortable." Remi said, with a bright smile, "Just watch." She fixed her glasses, walking up to the small tour guide group that was a couple of yards behind them.

The group of demons indisguise quieted down upon noticing her approach, and the small demon boy light up when he recognized her. "You're the lady with the funny hair!"

Remi's eye twitched a bit, but she greeted them. "It's nice to see you again!" She waved happily bending down slightly to pay the child's head. "Tooru, was it?" Said boy's eyes sparkled as he nodded happily.

"Did you bring more of those puppies from the last time?! I had a lot of fun!"

"Haha, no sorry, I don't have any puppies. But I'm glad you had fun. Maybe some time we can go down by the animal shelter to see some?"

"Oh, okay!"

Remi turned to the older man behind him. "Nice to see you again, Jiro. How's your leg doing?"

Jiro let out a laugh. "Still standing, little lady. These old bones got a lot of more time on them!"

Yusuke watched as Remi talked to his tour guide, slightly in awe. "… How the heck is she doing that…" Jin chuckled. "And how does she know everybody's names?"

"She listens, Urameshi. If yer' just bothered to try to talk to them without yer Spirit Detective title, yer would find they're quite different than what the Spirit World files make them out to be." Jin answered, before joining her. Yusuke looked at them in contemplation for a moment, before also joining them.

It was starting to get even more chilly as the sun set, Remi brought her scarf closer to her face, jumping a bit when she felt something big and fluffy almost cover her entire face. She looked up to see Jin's grinning face, tying his own scarf over hers.

"Ye seemed a bit chilly there." Somewhere in the distance, they could hear the laughter of Yusuke and several of the other demon refugees talk animatedly about fighting stories.

Remi adjusted the scarf so she could talk. "You didn't have to Jin."

He waved it off. "Nah, I don't like those big fluffy things. Too restricting!"

"Thank you." Jin nodded. "… Can I ask you something..?"

"What do you think about, um, well our world?" Remi looked at him with a weird look on her face. It was almost silly, even just hearing her own words almost made her laugh out loud… But how could she do that when she was staring straight into the embodiment of wind itself? Not to mention all the strange things she's seen, it was mind boggling.

It made sense, she finally had an answer, yet she almost wished she didn't.

Jin watched her carefully. He could tell it was all a bit too much, but with an encouraging smile, he answered her. "I think yer' world is breathtaking." His sing songy voice said lightly. "Strange as heck, but the sky…" He trailed off, admiring the clouds. "No matter where ya are, the skies are always the same. Beautiful."

"Yeah, it is." Remi nodded in agreement, mirroring Jin's grin. Yusuke interrupted them just then.

"Yo." He looked between the two of them, raising a brow. "… Why are you two looking up at the sky like that?" He watched as the two only exchanged looks with each other and joined the rest. Yusuke narrowed his eyes. "… What a bunch of weirdos…" His scowl suddenly turned mischievous as he watched Jin interact rather animatedly with the short raven. He catched a particular look of interest when he saw Jin jokingly poke at her cheek, causing the girl to puff out her cheeks and pull his own. "Well wadd'ja know…" He snickered.

Ohhhh, he knew that look…

[The sounds of light, feminine giggles could be heard throughout the room, occasionally accompanied by a masculine chuckle. Two teens were huddled next to each other on a desk, a large textbook in between them as they studied.

"Do you understand it better?" Shuuichi asked, catching the gaze of large doe gray eyes briefly flutter to him, then back to the book.

"Well when you put it that way, it does make a heck of a lot more sense, yes, haha." Remi laughed, jotting downside notes on the margin of her notebook. Shuuichi took a look, before smiling and pointing out something. "Oh no, I messed that up to, huh?"

Shuuichi shook his head. "Not at all, you wrote the correct Kanji for it, but the order is a bit wrong." He reached over her, taking the pen out of her hands to write down the correct form. He could feel her chest brush lightly against his arm, and through his bangs he saw her look at him shyly from between her lashes, face red.

Shuuichi finished writing down the kanji, yet he didn't budge from his close position, not even to look at her.

"… Is something of the matter, Rosario-san?" He asked.

Remi gulped, looking away briefly. "… No."

"You seem on edge."

"I'm fine." She answered softly.

"Look at me." Remi looked up to meet his gaze, her face reddening more. "… Do I make you uncomfortable." Her eyes widened.

"What, n-no!" Shuuichi felt like she answered that rather too quickly.

"Is this because of what happened at Keiko's?" He asked softly.

"No." Remi countered. He didn't buy it.

"So then look at me, please."

After a couple of seconds, Remi shyly met his gaze then. He offered her a small smile, before moving his hand away. "The next Kanji I'd like for you to write is 'yearning'." He saw her tense up a bit. "What is it?"

"Uhm, I don't know the characters for that." Remi admitted.

Shuuichi nodded in understanding. "It's alright, I can show you." He wrote down the kanji in her notebook. "It consists of 3 separate characters, the one for 'adore', and 'need' are combined to create 'yearning'." Remi nodded. She tried to copy the Kanji, but grimaced when hers looked sloppy and lopsided. "You mixed up the order of the strokes." He reached over to guide her right hand in his, slowly tracing over each order stroke to write the Kanji. His breath ghosted over her face due to their closeness, and for some odd reason, Shuuichi felt a strange tingle in his chest. His hand gripped hers tighter, causing Remi to crane her neck to look at him slightly, eyes wide at the sudden closeness.

"Oh." She let out breathlessly. "Thanks…"

Shuuichi said nothing, continuing to guide her hands into another Kanji stroke. Her brows burrowed at the unfamiliar characters, looking back at him. "I don't know that one."

"It's the Kanji for 'desire." Shuuichi replied. The way her face bloomed at the words made him curious. "Do you want to learn more?" His gaze flickered to her neck when she took a big gulp.

"S-sure…"

Without another word, Shuuichi guided her through several more kanji, until he finished on a rather particular lengthy character. "… This one is 'lust.'" Their eyes met.

"…" Remi looked away, surprising him by writing her own kanji stroke. He looked down at what she wrote, his body stilling. "What about this one..?" Remi asked quietly,

"…" Shuuichi looked at her. "That's…" He halted.

"…" Remi started to smile. Her hands slipped from under his, turning her body towards him as she leaned forward. "Well, what does it say Shuuichi? I don't think I wrote it well."

Shuuichi said nothing for a while. "… It's the Kanji for 'Sex'."

Remi's smile widened. "Shuuichi…" The way she said his name made him bristle almost physically. "You think I wasn't picking up on your little game?" Her finger ghosted over his neck, causing goosebumps. "I'm not stupid- I could see the way you'd look at me sometimes when you thought I wasn't paying attention…" Remi chuckled, slinking her arms around his neck as she pressed herself lightly against him, hips hovering over his to barely sit on top of him. "… Did you like it when I did this that time." She said as she fully sat down on his lap, straddling him. Remi laughed lightly, leaning closer to whisper against his neck. "Shuuichi?"

"…" Shuuichi didn't move, his skin raised into little goosebumps.

Remi leaned back again, pressing her face closer to his. "Well, Shuuichi, I'm right here." She smiled, tracing her fingers lightly over his jaw and lips. "Right where you want me."

Shuuichi suddenly chuckled, slipping his hands to grip her waist tightly. "Guess I've been found out." His dark gaze made her shiver, bringing her hips closer to his in a roll. "I've thought about you after that day…" A hand trailed up to cup her chin, bringing her lips into a brief kiss.

"… You want to continue where we left off, Shuuichi?" Remi said coyly.

Shuuichi smirked, fingers hooked under the hems of her jeans, tugging it down a bit. "With pleasure…"]

Shuuichi jolted awake, gasping. His head spun, and damp sweat clung to his form, bangs swirled In intricate patterns and plastered along his forehead and cheeks. He stared off unto a wall, senses and muscles taught and poised ready as the air felt like electricity ran through the air. "What in the three worlds..."

The phone on his bedside counter buzzed faintly, and he looked over to see the name of a certain short raven haired girl flash on the screen. His eyes darkened, watching the blinking screen go off until it ceased. He took his phone, walking towards his bathroom as he went to wash his face.

Shuuichi froze, gripping the corners of his mirror as he peered closer at his reflection.

… One of his eyes was shimmering gold, while his hair had strands of silver that was fading into his own hair color. "Youko." SHuuichi spoke out breathlessly
