AN1: Hello once again! It has been a while since I wrote anything, and it feels great to be back! Really short update this time, trying to get back into the groove of things. That and i forgot to put this in the last chapter, as it would look weird attached to chapter 16. Anyway, by the powers given to me by the author gods, I Command this story….

~Dianna talking to Derrick~
Derrick's POV
0434 Hours
Emerald Forest
Three months, thirteen days after initiation
'Hey sis?' I thought, taking another look around us. 'Did I… Scare you guys when I ran off?' In my instinct fueled haze, I hadn't noticed that I led the small group consisting of the original Team RWBY, my sister and I into the initiation area. We stood in the same clearing where we fought our first Nevermore, wrecked ruins and all, with Beacon cliff blocking all but the headmaster's tower from view.
Dianna sighed, turning to face Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang as they planned how they would help the team I saved up Beacon cliff without opening their wounds. "Derrick… you know you are putting way too much stress on them, right?"
I tilt my head a little, not processing. "What do you mean?"
She sends what feels like exasperation over the link. "Bro, do you even realize the shit you are putting them through; the shitstorm you put everyone through when you pull your normal shit?" She turns to me, glaring with hands on her hips. "Let's start with the stress you dumped on Goodwitch when you shared our world's history with her. She had to have lost sleep over that."
She started pacing, keeping her voice even and low while I could feel her anger grow through the link. "Doctor Frost is a medical professional, so we can exclude him from this list, but then you started dumping crap on Ruby, Weiss and Yang. You barely give Ruby the time of day, always prioritizing your business and projects over Team activities she sets up. And then you use what has to be the second most traumatizing moment of her life as a weapon against Ozpin.
"You are literally an acquaintance with Yang, your partner, the person you are supposed to trust everything with. Oh! Wait, you did, if only to show how utterly BROKEN you are mentally without your support structure. After that little 'episode', you practically IGNORE her. Your PARTNER!" Her anger should have set off my Grimm instincts by now, but the fury coming through our link seems to be blocking it. A given, as I am now realizing just how badly I fucked up.
"Sis, I-" She cuts me off, not noticing or caring about the others now paying attention to us.
"AND WEISS! How could I forget about Weiss?! The girl whose life you casually ripped apart. The girl whom you STOLE her FUCKING DREAM. THE REASON SHE BOTHERED COMING TO BEACON IN THE FIRST PLACE, YOU INCONSIDERATE JACKASS! You bought out the SDC and 'asked' her to run it for you, knowing damn well the workload you placed on her would either kill her or make her quit Beacon! Then, you have the FUCKING GALL, to tell Adam that he can have Whitley, WHILE SHE IS LESS THAN FIVE FEET FROM YOU! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?! AND, AS IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH SHIT YOU PILED ON HER SHOULDERS, YOU DECIDE THAT IF YOUR PLAN OF GETTING KIDNAPPED ON PURPOSE DIDN'T PAN OUT LIKE YOU WANTED, YOU WERE GOING TO MAKE HER TAKE OVER FOR YOU."
*SMACK* My vision blurred, cheek stung, neck felt like I got whiplash. Dianna grabbed me by my jaw and forced me to look into her eyes, tears pouring down her cheeks and rage in her eyes. I couldn't see straight, my vision distorted through my own unshed tears from understanding the unending shitstorm I caused those poor girls.
"The only, ONLY, reason Weiss didn't snap is due to her bastard of a father already forcing her through hell. We don't know what happened to her mother, just that her brother's been acting like a little shit since her sister left for the Atlas military. Up until you dealt with him, her father was controlling her interactions with the rest of the world as well, with his business practices painting a target the size of Beacon on her back. There's also the idea that he might have used her as a bargaining chip for a company takeover, marrying her off to some shmuck to give him an in to destroy the company he forced her into. In general, Weiss's life was shit, and you DIDN'T HELP with your BULLSHIT!" She shoved me back, turning away and wiping her eyes.
"...When we get to Beacon, I'll make sure you learn how to interact with people without pushing them to the breaking point." She holds her hand out for me to pull myself up. Once I do, she turns to my- no our team. "I'd like to apologize for Derrick being a dipshit. I will do my best to ensure such behavior doesn't continue from now on. Now, let's move. They need medical attention, and all of us need some sleep."
I stayed back, taking in the sight of my sister interacting with my teammates, doing a far better job of being their friend than I ever could. I gave them a wistful smile when they started moving, keeping my distance behind them. 'With you around, I think we just might make it through this in one piece.'
~Might? With me around, it's a goddamn guarantee.~
AN2: ...That sucked, both to come up with and to type in general. And now I remember why I left this out. Anyway, I'll start posting chapters again when I have a backlog typed. I have Chapters 16, 17, and 18 written on paper in a comp book, so all I have to do is type them up then edits.
Later!
Sam out!
