Third Task
AN: Sorry for being away for so long. I haven't been updating anything on this site because my old compute crashed again and I lost most of my work and I only recently got over some bad sickness that's affected me for over four months. Also I have news about the sequel I promise which I'll reveal next chapter which will also be the finale.
How had everything gone so absolutely wrong? I mean I have to admit that it's not like I expected everything would go exactly like I planned but surely my luck isn't this bad.
Right now I was tied up and crucified against a tombstone by a rat like man and an albino snake with legs. And to think I was in such a good mood this morning.
"Boss you can't actually be serious about this?"
"I am." Harry said to his subordinates who'd gathered around him. It's been nearly two weeks since the old man had approached him about his offer and the overthrow of the World Government.
"But if we ignore it then it could cause complete disaster." Although no one had voiced it out loud there were quite a few who agreed with that sentiment.
"There is no way I'm going to compromise. We went through a lot to pull that off and I'm not just going to throw it all away for beardie." The offer Dumbledore offered them was in exchange for sending them all back without having to worry about the consequences of the contract from the goblet, he wanted them to return all the gold. Ever since they stole all the gold from the country's sole bank commerce had completely dissolved.
"There's no point in doing this if it only benefits them. Plus you all know my plans for that gold. And now that Bakainu's gone it's finally time to permanently switch." Just before they came to this world they'd found the Devil Fruit Harry'd been searching for, for quite some time. The Goru Goru no mi.
"Look I refuse to talk about this anymore. Even if I weren't using the gold for my own plans there's something about the old man that's giving me a really bad feeling. I want each of you to be on your toes from now on. Absolutely avoid him at all costs." Begrudgingly they all left to go about their own business.
Tonight was finally the night. In a few short hours they'd be saying goodbye to this pesky world once and for all. It's brought him nothing but extreme annoyance and constant headaches.
"You're certainly in a chipper mood. Do I need to go meat shopping again?" Reila says with a laugh.
"I can't help it Reila, we're so close from finally being rid of this place. I have absolutely no reason to want to stay here any longer than I have to. I must admit that screwing with wizards is a hilarious occupation, but now that things in the New World have somewhat calmed down it's time to return home." Harry will be the first to admit that he dearly missed the deadly chaos of the New World. Yes they pretty much left it to go to shit a short time ago but that doesn't mean he didn't want to be right in it. They are pirates after all, a life of peace and quiet is not one for them.
"I wonder what kind of things will be in that maze with you? It'll probably be a lot of fun, it might even cure you of your ailing boredom." The two friends laughed hard at the remark. But both of them knew he needed it, so many months with only a few sparse fights was not good for his health.
In order to put him in the right mood for tonight Harry decided to go through some aerial training. For once not caring that their little show had an audience. Before he knew it, it was time for the final task.
"Now that everyone has entered inside the maze, they have until someone touches the cup at the center of the maze. Good luck to our four champions, they have many challenges to face. Both against each other and the many creatures we've hidden inside the maze." Windbagman said to the audience who'd be staring at a bunch of grass for a while as me and the other three contestants wandered around the maze trying to find the center.
I came across a few creatures, none of whom I found any threatening. After fighting a man who can turn into a dragon who lead an army of dinosaurs, this was nothing. My father and his men may have beaten them in the past but that didn't mean there weren't still remnant of Kaido and his army around. Hopefully we've nipped that in the bud.
"Crucio!" A loud scream pierced the silent night. My body ignoring my will I decide to see what was going on. From what I remember from my research that spell induces torture on whoever it is cast on, and it is illegal. Not that I care about that part.
Turning a corner I see the rough looking guy attacking the blonde girl, me channeling my father and totally forgetting their names despite their being said not an hour ago. Using my powers I separated the two by blasting the guy far away to be lost in the hedges. Ignoring the still twitching blonde I continue my search or the treasure, after checking to see if she was still alive as an afterthought.
Twenty minutes later me and the red head champion had both reached the cup. Since we arrived at the same time, and I literally couldn't care less I tried to convince him to grab the thing, but he was being too stubborn and insisted we both grab it. Relenting I do and then I feel a strange tug behind my navel and we were whisked away to our current situation.
After the rat man had killed the other champion and tied me up he dumped what looked like the world's ugliest baby into a pot. After levitating some bones and also adding it in he cuts off his own hand and then gets a few drops of my blood in by cutting my arm with it.
Then a snake like man with red eyes appeared from the cauldron. Finally having enough of the show, only sticking around out of shear and utter boredom I release a blast of Haki which broke the ropes and dropped to the ground.
"This was fun but I think I better skedaddle." Before they could do their light show in an attempt to stop me I grabbed the cup which I floated over to me and left.
Another brief trip later I reappeared on the stage near the entrance to the maze to a much larger crowd than earlier, and my family threatening the pathetic minister.
"What's all the fuss about. First there was the snake man and now whatever this is." My dry comment caught everyone's attention and pretty soon I was mobbed.
After moving to the headmaster's office and finally calming down Nana and everyone else explanations began. Apparently one of whisker's pet was working in disguise for the snake man, apparently named Voldemort who was behind the deaths of my birth parents.
"So you see, you must stay in this world. You and Voldemort are linked in a way you cannot understand. I know I promised you and your crew a way out, and I have found a way to send you back, but I'll only do so if you swear fealty to me. The rest of your crew can leave but you must stay here under my tutelage and train to defeat Voldemort." Needless to say that didn't fly well for anyone in the room that didn't work for him. Three blasts of low Conqueror's Haki sent him flying from his seat into the far wall. He was barely conscious from the simultaneous attack.
"Now listen here you boorish old man." Mother said while doing her usual act of stepping on someone while looking down on them so much she was looking up. "My son has finished his part in your pathetic game and now we're leaving. Lucky for us we already know a way to permanently leave. How dare you presume you have the authority to tell any of us what to do. This is entirely your fault, this Volde- whatever is your problem to deal with. If you even think about threatening us I'll tear you apart and feed you to wild animals." Although he'd never admit it Dumbledore was actually quite afraid of this woman and was completely cowed by her very real threat.
Without a word the quartet of pirates left the room. But not without a certain fancy wand that suddenly appeared in his pocket. Sensing that there was something interesting about it he took it with him.
"Are preparations finished?"
"Yes captain. Coordinates are set for our secondary hideout in the New World. Our allies have been informed and are awaiting our arrival."
"Good. It's time to finally wash our hands of this madness. If I ever see this place again it'll be too soon. I mean honestly, they expect a teenager to do an adult's job just because an old man with a god complex tells them to. Ignoring the obvious circumstances that is completely nuts." Ralix walked up to me and gave me a comforting arm.
"I'm fine Ralix, just extremely pissed. The idiocy of this country is stifling. Alright get us out of here." Nodding the navigators finish their last minute preparations for a jump and we were gone.
I'll be the first to admit this isn't much of a chapter but I'll say that this is NOT the end. One last chapter which will lead way to the Sequel which I won't say anything about.
