"Hyper voice!" Hydreigon roared, pure sound pushing Tranquil backward. "Quickly, hyper beam!" Hydreigon stopped its attack and fired beams of light out of its mouths.

"Get out of the way!" Tranquill dropped onto the sidewalk, avoiding the beams. "Quick attack" Tranquill blurred forward, ramming into Hydreigon.

"Grab that bird!" All three of Hydreigon's mouths latched onto Tranquill. Tranquill panicked, squawking and struggling.

"Fight back, gust!" Tranquill whipped up a weak wind around both of them, hardly affecting Hydreigon.

"Your bird isn't strong enough to damage my Hydreigon," Jonas said. "Tell me something. Have you ever seen a pokemon hurt so bad, it can't recover?" I noticed his hands twitching as he asked. My mouth went dry.

"Hydreigon, use draco meteor." I immediately returned Tranquill. "Coward!"

"I'm not battling you!" Jonas let out a loud groan.

"Then, I'll just get rid of you like I planned. Hydreigon, chuck him off."

"Andrew!" I heard Bianca's voice. Hydreigon flew towards me. Dewott appeared beside me.

"Fury cutter!" Dewott slashed at Hydreigon with its shell, Hydreigon recoiled with a roar.

"Don't interrupt our battle!" Jonas yelled. I backed up, stumbling into Bianca. Bianca wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm sorry Andrew." Cheren walked past us.

"You were fighting this guy?" Cheren asked. "He sounds like a lunatic."

"Hydreigon, use draco meteor on all of them!" Hydreigon floated higher, its body glowing.

"Dewott, ice beam." Dewott fired a compressed white beam, hitting two of Hydreigon's wings. Hydreigon fell onto the sidewalk. "Keep attacking it." The man screamed profanities as Dewott fired several more shots.

"What are you talking about?" I pulled away from Bianca. "I'm the one who messed up. How did you get here?"

"I ran away from home," Bianca said with a smile.

"What?"

"Anyway, I know I can seem like a burden sometimes, but I have feelings too." I nodded.

"I'm sorry Bianca. You're not a burden. I'm just a jerk." Dewott had knocked out Jonas' Hydreigon. He returned the Hydreigon and held up two more pokeballs.

"I'm going to have all of you killed!" Jonas screamed. I noticed Pignite behind him. Pignite punched Jonas in the back of the head. He fell over.

"Pignite!" I yelled. Pignite ran over to me. Cheren scratched his head.

"We should probably call the police about that guy, he's probably a murderer or something." I sat down against the railing, my body was shaking. Cheren and Bianca joined me. Dewott and Pignite happily greeted each other. Cheren got on the phone with the Castelia gym leader. I closed my eyes.

"What happened to that girl you were traveling with?" Bianca asked.

"She left, I guess." I looked up at the empty sky. The sun was as bright as ever. "I think I might have made her upset with me somehow." Bianca took my hand.

"You still have us."

"The gym leader will be here in a few minutes," Cheren said. "Guess we should just wait here." I felt somehow renewed from the experience. A small smile formed on my face.
