Olivia's POV

Jessica's visit to the Station:

Callie and I get up the next morning and get coffee and breakfast going for everyone. I make the coffee and Callie starts breakfast of pancakes and bacon for us all. The plan today is for me to take Jess to the station and show her around. Callie and I are hoping we can 'win' them over and they decide to move here and be closer to Callie. This way Callie and Arizona can both see Sofia whenever and have each other back in their lives. Everyone needs their best friend from time to time. I know Callie loves me and there isn't anything we can't talk to each other about, but sometimes we just need to 'vent' to our best friends.

"Mmmm something smells amazing in here" Arizona says as she makes her way into the kitchen, with Jess on her tail.

"Not sure if it's the coffee or bacon you can smell but please, have a seat and it will all be ready shortly" Callie tells her.

I pour coffee for everyone while Callie does the finishing touches on the food. Once everything is done I make my way into the kitchen to help Callie take it all in to everyone at the table. We all grab some food and start eating and just go over the plans for today. The kids have some apple juice while the adults all have coffee.

"Okay so what's the plan for today?" Jess asks.

"Well, Steph will be here in about an hour to take the kids to the park, than I figured we can get ready and head out and go our separate ways." Callie responds.

"Sounds like a plan. You guys cooked so please let Arizona and I clean-up"

"Not going to argue there" I tell her.

While the girls clean-up Callie and I go get the kids ready; as Steph will be here shortly to pick them up. I get Noah ready while Callie gets Sofia ready for their day out. I just about have him ready when there's a knock at the door and I can hear Callie introducing Steph and everyone. Doing the finishing touches to Noah's outfit for the day, we make our way out to the living room with everyone. The kids are on their way and that just leaves us ladies to get ready for the day.

"Okay, so if you two want to go get showered and dressed Callie and I will do the same"

"Sounds good" Arizona says and they make their way down the hall.

Callie and I move into the bedroom and pick out our clothes for the day. I tell Callie to shower first then I'll jump in after her.

"Why don't we just 'save water' and go in together?" She asks.

"Yeah like that's going to 'save water'" I tell her.

"It will, it's not like we can do anything, we have company. Come on"

We take our turns washing each other than we finish up and dry off quickly before making our way into the bedroom to get dressed for the day.

"Okay, so once everyone is ready, why don't Jess and I take the SVU and you and Arizona can take the car"

"That works for me baby"

We are sitting on the sofa snuggling when Arizona and Jess come down the hall.

"Hey, so the plan is Olivia and Jess will take the SVU and Arizona and I can take the car. We can meet back here later"

"Sounds good" Jess says.

I get up from the sofa and lean in and kiss Callie and wrap her in my arms.

"We'll see you later, text me when you guys are done at the hospital and we will see where we are at and go from there"

"Sounds good baby, have a good time, just not too much. Try to win her over today so she can tell Arizona all about it and hopefully they will move"

"You too babe, I'll see you later"

"Bye baby, bye Jess"

"Bye" and out the door we go.

We make it to the station and get parked. I am excited to introduce her around and show her what we do here at Special Victims, I know this job is not for everybody, but she seems the type that can handle the work load and the cases. Here's hoping anyway.

"So, are you familiar with what we do here at Special Victims?" I ask her.

"A little bit from what you've told me and I have done some research, it seems like a tough squad to work for"

"I'm not going to lie, it can be really hard, it's not for a lot of people, the average person can make it a year or two"

"So what about you? How long have you been here?"

"Too long to count now. The group I work with have also been here for a while, we are like a little family here. These guys will have your back in a heartbeat and not think twice about it"

"Good to know"

"Hey Cap, what are you doing here?" Rollins asks from her desk when she sees us walking in.

"Hey Rollins, I just visiting and showing Jess here around. She's thinking of coming to work for us so I'm trying to win her over"

"Jess, this is everyone: Amanda Rollins, Nick Amaro, Dominick Carisi Jr. and of course the ever loving Odafin Tutuola (we all just call him Fin); for the most part, he's harmless …. Guys this is Jessica Jordan"

"Nice to meet you Jessica" Amanda walks up and shakes her hand.

"Please call me Jess, nice to meet you as well"

"Okay, Jess it is. We usually go by our last names here so"

"Maybe I will call you JJ" Fin speaks up from his desk and he gets up and comes over to us.

"Nice to meet you Fin, and please don't, that nick name went on all through high school and the academy!" Jess says.

"All the more reason too then" he winks at her. I hope she can handle his sense of humor.

"Fin, do you have a girlfriend?" Jess asks.

"Yeah why, you interested?"

"Not in the slightest but if you ever want to please her again you will not keep calling me JJ. Besides you are so far from my type"

"Ohhh Cap I like her!" Fin laughs and shakes her hand.

"So what's your type then?" he asks.

"Beautiful, blonde, blue eyes and of the female form"

"Oh I see, so what you saying is Amanda is your type then" he winks

"Oh she would be IF she had blues eyes, was a surgeon and her name was Arizona Robbins"

"And just who is Arizona Robbins?"

"Just the love of my life!"

"Will we get to meet this Arizona Robbins at some point?"

"If you play your cards right, but I may keep her all to myself"

"Yup, I really like this one Cap!" Fin pats her on the shoulder and goes back to his desk.

"Sorry about him" I turn to her.

"Oh you don't have to worry about him, I can handle him"

"Glad to hear it"

We make our way into my office and take a seat, I start going over some of the things we deal with here at Special Victims. I explain that if she came to work with us what is expected of her and that we work tightly together to help form the bond she just seen out there.

"That does not mean you have to share everything with this bunch but being new they will probe and ask questions, they are really great detectives but really nosey too"

"I can just imagine. Back home I worked with a bunch of men that were always given me a hard time because I'm female and they all knew I was a lesbian, so that didn't help with the harassing. Most of it was just harmless fun but there were a few I would have liked to punch in the mouth"

"I bet. Well this group is small, so we all have gotten pretty close over the years. We have each other to lean on when the 'hard cases' hit. I also have an open door policy so if you ever need to talk or just vent, please feel free to come see me. I may be the captain here and sometimes have to come down hard on you all when it's coming from the top, but for the most part I'm pretty easy going. I have been out there where they are so I know what it's like when people won't talk to us, evidence isn't there etc"

"That's good to know. Thanks"

"We try to get together outside of work as often as possible to keep the relationship going between us all. Amanda has 2 small kids, Fin has a girlfriend (actually she's our ME) and a son but is much older and out on his own (that's a long story), Carisi doesn't have kids but I think he is seeing someone"

"Fin is dating your ME? How does that work?"

"It works very well, they keep work at work and home at home, they are both very professional to each other here at work"

"Wow, that's awesome"

"Like I said we try to get together as often as possible and we usually end up going for drinks after work or something. Once a month we TRY to get together in a social setting just to de-compress from this life. Got to take the good when we can in this job"

"Makes sense"

I go about showing her a few cases we are currently working on and seeing what her knowledge is around the evidence and crime scene; to see if she can come to the same conclusions we have thus far. She does and even gives a little more insight to a couple of them that we hadn't found as yet.

"Fin?" I yell out into the bullpen.

"Yes Cap"

"Are you working the Jefferson case?"

"Yes, why?" he asks.

"Jess here just found a few things out, going over the file"

"Really, let's talk then"

"Sure thing" she gets up and follows him out to his desk. I think she is going to fit in just fine here.

While she is out talking to Fin I lean back in my chair and just watch. I really think she is going to go places here. Hopefully she feels the same way. I grab my phone and send a text to Callie and see how they are making out on their adventure today.

Hey baby, we are doing well, we're done at the hospital, had a mishap that we will explain later at home but everyone is alright. C xoxo

Something I need to worry about? O xoxo

Okay well we are almost done here so do you want to meet at home or someplace else? O xoxo

We can meet at home then figure out what we are doing for dinner. C xoxo

Okay we should be home in about 30 minutes to an hour. O xoxo

I put my phone aside and just keep watching the interaction with the group and Jess, making sure she is fitting in. It seems that she is and they are all gathered around Fin's desk now discussing the case file.

"Hey Olivia, I'm done out there. Seems to have given him the break he was looking for in the case"

"That's awesome, thanks Jess"

"No need to thank me, part of the job right?"

"It is, we all have our own cases but sometimes a fresh set of eyes helps"

"I agree, can be a bit daunting when you keep staring at the same info for so long and nothing new jumps out at you. It's that time that you need the fresh set of eyes to help you see what's right in front of you"

"So, what do you think so far?"

"I love what I've seen thus far, but like you said it's going to take some getting used to working these kinds of cases"

"Do you think this job is something you could handle on a daily basis, because I will be honest with you; it's going to get a lot rougher. You will have that one case that eats away at you and the victims can really get to you at times too. The only thing I can tell you is to not let it eat away at you and don't bottle it up. You will lose yourself if you do"

"I think it's something I can handle, and I've never been the type to bottle anything up. I always talk it out"

"Good to hear, however some details you may not want to share at home, unless Arizona has a heart of steel. I also find that the cases involving kids bother me more so now that I'm a mother also. They always got to me, but more so now"

"She has a heart of gold not steel and those are never easy weather you have kids or not I would think"

"I still find it amazing what one human can do to another human and I've been here long enough to have seen it all. There are still some surprises that catch me off guard but you have to find a way to 'detach' from them; at least a little bit or they will wear you down to nothing"

"That sounds reasonable"

"Okay well the girls should be home by now, if you want to head back there and then we can figure out what we are doing for dinner"

"Sounds good and thanks again for today. It was an eye opener for sure. I will talk to Arizona but so far I think I am going to like it here. You have an interesting group of people here"

"That they are, but I wouldn't trade them for nothing. We have been through a lot together over the years"

"I can imagine you have"

I go about packing up and getting ready to head back home. I need me some Callie love. I lock up my office and we are ready to go.

"Okay guys, we're heading out, I will see you all Monday morning. Have a good weekend and call if you need anything"

"We will Cap, was nice meeting you Jess" Amanda says.

"You to, was nice meeting all of you. Hopefully if I come work here we can all grab a drink sometime, get to know one another better"

"Sounds good Jess, nice meeting you" Carrisi says.

"Bye everyone"

"Bye"

We make our way down to the car and head towards home. I really think she and Arizona are going to love New York and I just hope Arizona has had a good time today. The ride home is a little quiet but I would imagine she is just going over the day in her mind and letting it all sink in.

I can't help replaying Callie's message through my mind that they had a mishap at the hospital. Wonder what happened there; guess I will find out soon enough.
