Alex gently poked at the bruises on Koz's body from his fight with Tig at Lumpy's and tsk'd at his behaviour, the disappointment evident in her eyes.
"I can't believe so much has happened while everyone is gone" Alex mumbled, rubbing her thumb across Koz's split lip, hand cradling his cheek. Herman nodded against her hand.
"Can't believe Shepard fuckin' bailed. What a pussy. 'Specially since it was just Salazar who shot the fuckin' place up" Koz mumbled, making Alex laugh.
"Herman, I want you to be careful. No, I need you to be careful. I can't have you dyin' before you meet my kid" Alex pleaded as she helped clean the wounds on his pale body.
"Don't worry, Ally. Don't plan on dyin' anytime soon. I gotta piss off Trager a little while longer" Koz laughed, his smile filling his face and pulling at his lip even more. Alex smacked his face lightly.
"Quit making it worse, Herm." she scolded, resuming tending his wounds, "I really hope Tigger looks just as bad, for your sake" Alex giggled, trying to keep the mood light. Koz grinned at her,
"You know it, Ally."
Alex rubbed her hand down her face as she listened to Happy recounting the past few days for the sons in Ireland.
"So let me get this straight. You joined a gun run to Dungloe, and it was a setup? The barn was rigged with explosives…" Alex sighed heavily, the hand not clutching the phone was resting on top of her belly. Happy grunted in confirmation over the phone.
"You weren't inside, were you?" Happy mumbled a quick no, "Was anyone hurt? Is everyone okay?" Alex's worry felt like someone dropped a bowling ball on her chest. She couldn't find any air, her mind rushing with all the people she loved that were present during the explosion.
"No one important, Al. Calm down, little girl. I can hear you panicking all the way over here" Happy chuckled lightly, trying to get Alex to calm down, "'cept Chib's nephew, Padraic"
"What? Oh, tell Chibby he can call me if he needs to…" Alex felt her throat swell with emotion as she thought of how close Chibs had been with his nephew, and the way his face lit up when he rarely talked about his family back home.
"On top of his kid and baby momma almost get shot up the other day. No wonder he left this fuckin' place" Happy sighed, leaning back on the bed and staring up at the ceiling. Alex got up from her seat behind the desk in the T-M office and shut the door. Grumpy watched warily from his spot on the couch, ready to follow her if she left the room. He had been sticking by her side constantly, even going so far as trying to climb into the bath with her. That had been a temper tantrum when she locked him out of the bathroom when he wouldn't stop his attempts.
"Don't worry. Nothing is any better here. I accidentally caught a conversation Tara was havin' when I went to St. Thomas the other day" Alex mumbled, lowering herself back onto the chair. Grumpy visibly relaxed, going back to his peaceful nap.
"Before you tell me 'bout Tara, how's the gremlin?" Happy asked, excitement in his gravelly voice.
"Gremlin is good, Doc said not to be surprised if he decides to wait a little longer to make an appearance since it's my first kid" Alex smiled, "which means that you can keep takin' your sweet ass time gettin' Abel back because we got an extension on our due date" Happy laughed, a relief washing over his body.
"Kid better fuckin' wait 'til I'm home, I wanna be the first to hold it" Happy mumbled, his voice beginning to coo. Alex couldn't help but giggle at his tone, enjoying the juxtaposition of the swears along with his baby-talk voice.
"Okay, anyway, so I'm walking to my appointment and I overhear Tara's voice. I figured I'd go visit and see if she wanted to get coffee after I saw the Doc. So I'm walking around the corner, when I overhear Tara talking to some other doctor about a 'friend' needing an abortion" Alex mumbled, not wanting any of the bikers outside the office to overhear her. She knew that Happy wouldn't share anything she told him, but the other SAMCRO boys were huge gossips.
"So, of course, I stop and listen to their conversation from where they can't see me. Tara's boss is apologizing to Tara for assuming that her 'friend' needing the abortion was her, and Tara tells her that she's also pregnant and wants to end it. The woman offered to drive Tara to do it!" Alex's voice raised a little at the end and she immediately goes back to an almost whisper "Fuck, okay, I've been holding that in a long time" Alex laughed a little.
"Fuck. That's heavy shit, Al," Happy mumbled, "But if Tara didn't get an abortion before, who the fuck did?"
"Well, how many friends does Tara really have? I mean, I didn't get an abortion considering I'm eight fuckin' months" Happy chuckled, interrupting Alex.
"None of Tara's prude friends would consider a fuckin' abortion either" He added.
"So that really only leaves Lyla or one of the crow eaters, who I doubt approached Tara about that" Alex murmured into the phone as she noticed Piney walk past the office. She prayed to any God who would listen that Piney hadn't overheard her conversation.
"Ope won't like that" Happy grumbled, the bed creaking under him as he rolled onto his side. The clock on the wall proudly displaying 9:30 PM.
"Do you blame her though, Hap? I mean with everything goin' on with the Irish and Hale would you wanna bring a baby into it all?" Alex sighed, shifting in her seat to get more comfortable.
"Don't fuckin' talk like that" Happy growled, "You're about ready to pop with our own fuckin' kid."
"Doesn't mean it's a good idea, Hap," Alex growled back, knowing that this fight was eventually going to need to happen. No better time than the present, she thought bitterly. To her surprise, Happy chuckled.
"Wouldn't wanna do it with anyone else though, Al. You're fuckin' stubborn and crazy enough to put up with me, we're more than ready for a fuckin' baby" Alex felt her eyes fill with happy tears as she listened to her man's voice. Happy could hear her sniffles over the phone and began laughing.
"I can't fuckin' say anything to you without tears" He chuckled.
"You're such a sap, Happy Lowman. This must be why I keep you around" Alex's watery laughter filled his ears as she couldn't help but join in his laughter.
"That's not the only reason you keep me around, little girl." Happy growled, his voice suddenly full of lust.
"Calm down, Hap. I'm at work" Alex laughed at his constant horniness.

"Today is the day, Herm!" Alex sang as she danced around the kitchen as best as she could. Kozik chuckled as he sipped his coffee, watching his best friend dancing to the Motley Crue blasting over the speakers in the living room.
"What day?" He asked, amusement clear in his voice.
"I'm going to visit Ma, and I plan on staying there until shit blows over" Alex smiled, "so you're gonna have to live until I get back"
"Are you gonna at least leave Killer?" Koz whined. Alex knew that he hated being in the house alone, and would much prefer having even the dog for company.
"You know, Herm, when I got myself a puppy he was meant to be mine. Everyone else keeps trying to steal him" Alex laughed, scratching Grumpy behind his soft grey ears. "I'll leave him, but only because he takes up too much room in the car"
"What did you expect? That your pitbull wasn't going to weigh over 100 pounds?" Kozik chuckled, placing his empty coffee mug in the sink. "You all packed, Ally?"
"Cars packed, even put the hospital bag in the trunk in case the kid decides to make an early entrance" Alex smiled, grabbing her car keys from the catch-all bowl on the counter.
"I'll see you in a few days, Herm. Love you! And make sure you feed my dog!" Alex called out behind her as she shut the door. The drive to Bakersfield was only four hours, but Alex managed to stretch it to six by stopping every hour to pee thanks to the munchkin sitting on her bladder.
"Merde, Mija! You look ready to pop!" Elena called from the porch, gently rocking on the swing. Alex laughed as she grabbed her bag from the trunk. Waddling up the steps, Alex plopped into the seat next to Elena.
"I feel like it. And there's still like 3 weeks to go until I'm due" Alex groaned, shifting uncomfortably in the heat.
"Happy was early, about 2 weeks." Elena chuckled.
"I'm not surprised about that" Alex laughed, "Doctor said that since it's my first that it'll probably come late"
"Ah, Mija, I don't know why you listen to that nonsense. I bet you that baby will be just like its parents and come early"
"What does that mean?" Alex asked, brows drawn in confusion.
"You're always 15 minutes early. No matter what. Even when you lived next door" Elena deadpanned, grabbing Alex's hand in her frail one and gripping tightly.
"You're right, Ma." Alex sighed, " I just hope Happy is home before that happens. He deserves to witness the birth of his so-"
Elena gasped, her jaw dropping dramatically. "Alexandria! A Nieto! Does Happy know?" Alex shook her head meekly.
"We agreed that we wouldn't find out the gender until he was born but the nurse let it slip at the last appointment" Alex murmured her face bright red.
"Call my son! Put it on speaker! I wanna hear his reaction" Elena giggles excitedly, her face more vibrant than Alex had ever seen.
"Fine, fine" Alex laughed, pulling her phone from her pocket. She dialled Happy's burner and placed it on speaker, holding the cellphone between them.
"Hey, Baby. Call for a repeat of this morning?" Happy growled playfully as he the call connected.
Alex blushed, glancing at Elena quickly before clearing her throat. "I'm at Ma's. You're on speaker"
Happy cleared his throat and Alex couldn't help but laugh at his obvious discomfort.
"I miss you, mijo. But Alexandria has news for you!" Elena couldn't help but contain her excitement. Happy let out a deep chuckle.
"And what's that?" His low voice mumbled. The sound of a door closing told Alex that he had gone in search of privacy.
"Had that last scan the other day" Alex mumbled, suddenly nervous. Happy let out a hum in confirmation.
"Nurse accidentally let some important info slip" Alex blurted out, nerves getting the better of her. She only ever got this nervous with Happy.
"Something wrong with the kid? Everything okay?" Happy sounded a little panicked. Alex knew that it was due to him being so far away.
"Nothing is wrong with him"
Alex heard the elated laugh on the other end of the line and felt all her nerves melt away.
