Chapter 17
"What are you talking about, a chaperone, a new keeper?" Yukio could barely contain his anger, as he tossed the note on Mephistos desk. Mephisto smiled and shrugged.
"It's orders from the Vatican, we have to follow them, you know that." The clownish principal sat down looking at the note.
"And at least I warned you, before letting her move in with you." Yukio frowned. Yes. He had gotten a few hours headstart, but even if she was the one moving in, Rin and Yukio could no longer do as they pleased in their dorm. He froze as he heard a large crashing sound and the source of his new problems stormed in. She didn't seem to notice him at all.
"Did you hear?" Shura shouted tossing that very same type of note on Mephistos desk. Even through the haze of anger Yukio felt himself, he found their similar reactions funny.
"Yes, we all did." Yukio said, catching Shuras angry gaze. It had been a while since they had seen eachother, but seeing her again felt strange. Yukio wasn't sure, if it was the circumstances og the remembrance of his clumsy confession a while back. He had been in love with her, the energy she emanated, her strength, hell, even her frisky attitude, but sharing his dorm, when Rin and him were finally in a good place. Well that didn't sit well with him either. The thought of their shared moment that very morning, and Yukios silent vow to finally let himself feel that forbidden love souring at the constant fear of potentially being interrupted. Shura knew, but even making fun of them and approving, Yukio didn't want to take any chances, and this stupid appendage was causing a hell of a problem. He moved uncomfortably, unsure how Rin could handle day school with his tail wrapped around his leg. It felt uncomfortable to say the least, like a cramp building up his spine, making him unnaturally jumpy and fidgety.
"Don't say you want me there?" Shura asked. Her red hair bouncing at the movement, when she looked at him. Yukio shook his head and pushed back his glasses.
"Of course I don't. Why would I ever want to share my personal space with a drunk like you?" He asked, his cocky response making Shura squint angrily at him.
"Yes why indeed." She didn't say anything, but the threat was obvious as the air between them reached a terrifying level.
"Do you want someone else to do it?" Mephisto asked, moving graciously between the two, completely defusing them. Yukio knew Shura would be the right one to move in. He trusted no one else in the Vatican, but he had to come clean to Rin. He closed his hands into tight fists, afraid of Rins reaction. He had talked and tried to keep everything a secret, and as far as he knew, Rin had kept their sectret, keeping up apperances for the esquires, while Yukio had not.
"We will clear a room for you to sleep in. If you come tonight, Rin will make dinner for the three of us."
The walk back to the dormitory felt long. Yukio tried enjoying the cold, but felt nothing. He saw light in their room, and hurried up there. Rin was sitting reading, homework? Yukio stopped, Rin seemed ingulfed in the text, not noticing his brothers arrival. He shouldn't be disturbed, Yukio thought, but he had to tell Rin the truth.
"Nii-san?" he asked, the ravenhaired boy jumping and closing the book before turning around. Rin smiled and threw the book away, propably thinking Yukio hadn't noticed with book it was. His t-shirt was loose and a bit short, Yukio noticed absedmindetly rubbing his head.
"Yukio." Rin answered stalling. The moment streched on between them, both of them waiting for the other to move. Yukio closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The teasing smell of Rin heating him from the inside and out. The scent arousing him and mere seconds made him rockhard. He tried imagining if this reaction would dissapear if Shura lived with them, but he couldn't really imagine ever not wanting Rin.
"Shura has to move in to the dormitory with us. They don't trust me anymore, since I am a halfdemon like you." Rins eyes widened, but he sait nothing, somehow knowing, Yukio had more to say.
"We have to make her room ready." Yukio knew he was stalling. Shura would definetly spill the beans, it would be better to be told from Yukio. Rin nodded.
"The one furthest away, huh sensei?" he asked finally taking Yukios hand. He let out a relieved sigh and squeezed Rins hand. Yes, the room furthest from theirs would be fine, and then perhaps she wouldn't butt in or tell on him.
