Barry P.O.V

Barry and Finn walked into the choir room during third period to find Artie, Brittany, Unique, Blaine, Tina, Sam, Joe, Jake, and Marley all sitting down. Jake was trying to make conversation with (hit on) Marley, but she merely stared at Barry as he wrote down the words Britney 2.0 on the white board.

"As we all know, Brittany was recently laid off the Cheerio's. And, as all of you can see, she's clearly depressed," Barry motioned to Brittany, who was stuffing oreos down her mouth as she stared at the ground.

"Umm, why the hell are you giving us a lesson? Aren't you supposed to be sitting down with the rest of us while Schue or Hudson give the pep talks?" Jake asked.

"Actually, no Jake," Mr. Schue said as Barry leaned up against the piano. Finn giving him a look that said 'ignore him'. "Barry and Finn will be co-captaining the New Directions while I'm in D.C for eight months. You are to treat them with the same respect you show me, and then some,"

"This is bullshit! He's a sophomore! Why aren't one of the seniors 'co-captaining'?" Jake asked.

"Because they act like children," Barry said abruptly. "Sorry guys, but it's true. You haven't face any real challenges in your entire lives, besides Blaine, Artie, and Unique. And even they act like children sometimes," he said.

"Oh, and you don't?" Jake asked.

"No," Blaine, Finn, Mr. Schue, Tina, and Sam answered for Barry as the scarlet speedster stared Jake down. "As far as I'm concerned, he's the most mature fifteen year old I've ever met," Mr. Schue said. "That's why he's co-captaining," Jake scoffed, leaning back in his chair as he shook his head.

"So, like I was saying," Barry sighed. "Britney week is back, and it's going to bigger, better, and all around amazing!" he shouted as everyone but Jake and Brittany clapped in excitement. The bell rang immediately, resulting in everyone leaving the room, except Barry and Marley. Barry, who hadn't noticed Marley's presence, erased Britney 2.0 from the board before leaning his forehead against it.

"It's gonna get better you know," Marley said, startling Barry slightly as he lifted his head up to look at the ceiling.

"I know, it's just…" Barry trailed off, facing her as she took a seat on the piano. "I want them to respect me, like Mr. Schue says, but like Jake said, I'm just a sophomore,"

"The smartest sophomore I've met...and the cutest," Marley said, blushing profusely as she looked down at the floor. Barry moved forward, lifting her chin up toso she would face him, before pressing his lips to hers. The kiss lasted for only a few seconds, but sent both of them into a frenzy of fireworks before they separated. "W-W-What was that for?"

"For being you," Barry whispered as he pressed another kiss onto her lips. "Would you like to go out tonight?"

"W-What? Like a date?"

"Exactly like a date. I'll pick you up at seven," Barry said, kissing her one last time before leaving the room, catching Unique and Tina staring into the other door.

Marley P.O.V

Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. "Oh my god!" One of those were out loud. Marley turned her head to find Unique and Tina running into the room. Unique cried out in joy. "Did he just kiss you?!"

"Y-Yeah, he did," Marley said in a mix of complete joy and disbelief. No one had ever kissed her before. "Was that real?"

"As real as the Flash," Tina said. "What was it like?"

"Amazing," Was Marley's only response as she jumped off the table, and left the room. She walked down the hallway, spotting Barry at his locker. Her journey was cut short by Jake, who stepped in front of her.

"Hey, Marley. I was wondering if you'd wanna hang out at Breadstix later," Jake asked.

"I already have plans," Marley replied eagerly as she looked over Jake's shoulder.

"Oh, ok. Maybe we can go out tomorrow?" Jake asked.

"Those were my plans Jake. To go out with someone. That isn't you,"

"Who?"

"Barry Allen," Marley said, trying to side-step Jake, who moved in front of her again.

"You're going out with that loser?" Jake asked.

"Loser? I wouldn't call Barry a loser," Marley warned.

"Yeah, I wouldn't do that," Marley turned to see Barry wrap an arm around Jake, a grin on his face as he said. "You really shouldn't do that," he said, patting Jake on the chest before handing Marley another rose. "See you at seven Marley,"

He walked away, leaving Marley alone as Jake walked off in anger. "So, you and Barry are a thing now?" Blaine asked as he came to a stop next to Marley.

"What? Oh... I don't know," Marley responded as she blushed a deep crimson that would put even the Flash at bay. "He asked me out earlier,"

"Did you say yes?" Blaine asked.

"I did,"

"Good, just...give him a chance," Blaine said before walking away, and leaving Marley to her thoughts, unaware of a pair of hazel eyes watching her from a distance.

"Marley Rose!" Marley turned to find Unique and Tina marching down the hallway, determination in their eyes as they reached her. "You and Barry kissed! Are you two going out now?" Tina asked.

"No, at least I don't think so. He asked me out, but so did Jake," Marley said. "I don't know. Barry sweet, handsome, and everything. And Jake's handsome, and an artist,"

"You mean pick-up artist. Marley, everywhere you go in this school, you see the wreckage of girls' hearts who thought the same thing as you. And he's only been in this school for two weeks! He's even been known to troll the girls' gym class," Unique said.

"Uh-uh," Tina agreed.

"Let me be clear: he's a womanizer," Unique said, before launching into a lengthy and choreographed number of 'Womanizer' from Brittany.

Barry P.O.V

"Gideon, activate log," Barry said as he slowly welded together his new suit. "Kara's conflicted. I can see it in her thoughts. She sees Jake as this misunderstood artists who she believes she can change, but she's wrong. He's just an immature fifteen year old who just wants to add one more girl to his list," Barry said.

"It's 6:57, three minutes before I'm supposed to pick Ka...Marley...up," Barry said as he slowly attached the blue lightning bolt onto the torso. "There we go. Suit complete," He placed a golden ring on his finger, which had a red shade in the center, and a blue lightning bolt. He placed it on the suits lightning bolt, watching as it immediately shrank into the ring, which closed.

"Let's go," said Barry as he sped into his best suit, before taking off at a Flash-sprint, before coming to a stop a block away from Marley's home. He ran up the steps leading to her house, before approaching the front door. Barry knocked, hearing footsteps approaching before the door swung open to reveal Millie Rose.

"Barry? Why don't you look nice,"

"Thank you. Is Marley ready?" Barry asked.

"What? No. She...oh no," Millie said, realization crossing her face. "She went out with this boy named Jake, telling me to tell you she was sorry," Barry grimaced. He hadn't foreseen this. No. No. He hadn't just been stood up by the love of his life. No. "I'm so sorry, Barry," He wasn't listening. Instead, he turned around and sprinted away, making sure to be out of eyesight from prying eyes before speeding over to Breadstix, where he knew they would be.

If there was a word for the level of pissed Barry was, it would be described as Apokolips itself. Hell on Earth. He wanted to kill the Puckerman piece of shit. To shred his heart into a billion pieces before feeding him to the parademons. But he couldn't kill. Not anymore. So, he ran. Ran until he came to a stop behind Breadstix. He entered through the back, and made his way into the main restaurant, where he found Marley and Jake sitting in a booth.

He took a seat not far away, crossing his legs as he stared at the two teenagers, every fiber in his being telling him not to kill Jake. How could Marley choose him? Of all people. No. Barry was still going to fight. No matter what. He knew it. He had to play the Krypton card. It was the only way.

After sixteen minutes of merely staring at them, Marley took her gaze off of Jake for a millisecond, meeting Barry's eyes. Her eyes went wide as she stared at him, his stare intensifying as the anger boiled.

"What's wrong?" Barry could hear Jake asked. The young man followed Marley's eyes, scowling at the sight of Barry, who was smiling now. "Why is he here?"

"I…" Marley trailed off as Barry got up from his seat and casually slid into the booth next to Jake.

"Hey Marley,"

"H-Hi Barry,"

"Guilty aren't we? Good. It means you have a conscience," Barry said as he stole one of the breadsticks on the table, receiving a scowl from Jake. "So, why'd you stand me up? I mean, I get you're with him, but...you couldn't have called? You have my number,"

"I...I…"

"You don't have to explain yourself to this douche, Marley," Jake said. "He's just being an asshole,"

"Did you not get my message from before Puckerman? DO. NOT. MESS. WITH. ME," Barry threatened before Jake pushed him out of the booth.

"Get lost jackass," Jake said as he popped another fry into his mouth. Barry sighed, pulling his suit jacket off before placing it on a nearby jacket. "Screw it," he said as he pulled Jake from the booth, before kicking him into a nearby table. Jake caught himself, but was sent flying as Barry tackled him over said table.

"Barry!" Marley shouted as she attempted to pull him away from Jake, who he continuously punched in the face. "Get off of him!"

"I. Gave. Him. Plenty of. Warning!" Barry shouted as he slammed Jake's head into the ground. "He wants to be an ass, I'll hand it to him!" Barry shouted as he continued his barrage of punches on Jake, who was barely conscious.

"Stop!" Marley shouted, grabbing his wrist before pulling him away. "What is wrong with you?!"

"EVERYTHING!" Barry exclaimed, his anger radiating off of him as he got into her face. "And you," He said before walking off, Marley on his heels.

"Look, I am so sorry I ditched you, but Jake's a -"

"Good guy?" Barry asked. "Well...I thought I was an ok guy myself. Seems I was wrong. And I thought I knew you," Barry said.

"Knew me? You've known me for seven days!" Marley shouted.

"I've known you better than you know yourself Kara Zor-El," Barry fired back, stunning the girl into silence. "That's right. Does good ol' Jake know your secret? The pain you and your cousin Kal suffered? No. But I do. So go ahead and run back to the guy who's fucked every girl in the school, and nurse him back to perfect health. Be the better person Kara!" Barry shouted before running off at normal speed, leaving a crying Kara behind.

HALL OF JUSTICE

Barry sped around the Hall of Justice at thirteen times the speed of sound, building it piece by piece. Rooms, applianced, headquarters. Everything. It wasn't until the large hangar door creaked open that Barry came to a stop in front of the round table.

"Watch are you doing here Barry?" Clark asked as he flew down to the ground in his Superman outfit. "You do know its four in the morning right? Don't you have school tomorrow?"

"I'm skipping. Actually, I might just graduate early, get my diploma," Barry said as he took off in a blur of yellow, before returning with three tray-fulls of tacos. He pushed one over to Clark, who thanked him and took one. "I don't know man. Your cousin stood me up tonight,"

"Kara? She goes to Lima? And she stood you up?" Clark asked.

"Yep, yep, and yep. We were married in the original timeline. She was the love of my life, even more so than Iris. I don't know. I thought I could rekindle it here, but her fucking 'saving people' thing is godamn annoying," Barry said as he downed his thirtieth taco.

"What happened?"

"Well, I gave her roses, kissed her, and asked her out, and when I showed up at her house, I was greeted by her mom. Her fucking mom. Who told me she went out with a man-whore named Jake. He's a troublemaker whose slept with every girl in the school, yet she sees him as this misunderstood artist who she can save," Barry said. "I kicked his ass of course, but I can't look at her again Clark, that's twice I've lost her,"

"You should give her a second chance Barry, she is a teenager," Clark said.

"So? Just because your a teenager doesn't make you null of consequence. We'd be having the same conversation right now if she and I were ten years older. And besides, the last time I gave someone a second chance, they blew up STAR Labs and tried to spread themselves through space and time. So...no," Barry said.

"Come on, just let me talk to her, and -"

"I'm gonna stop you right there Clark, because I can see every possible future. One of which, you do that. It doesn't work. Nothing works. She chooses Jake. Gets her heart broken. Avoids boys, and is transferred from McKinley. I just have to move on man. Move on from McKinley. The New Directions. Hell, even this goddamn planet. Hey, maybe I can move to Earth-15 permanently,"

"Now you're just talking nonsense Barry," Clark and Barry turned to find Courtney strutting down the hangar, carefully taking a seat next to Barry. "So, girl troubles?"

"You can say that," Barry said as he chugged down a beer, which immediately burned through his system. "Clark's cousin bailed on our date,"

"Eh, so it's girl problems for you, and family problems for Superman," Courtney said. "Well, is there anyway I can help?"

"Well, if you can cure my never ending depression and self-loathing," Barry mumbled as he downed another beer. "Or maybe kill Jake for me, seeing as I can't do it,"

"No," Clark said as his phone began to ring. "I gotta go," he said before flying off through the hangar door, leaving Barry and Courtney alone.

"Come on, put the beer down," Courtney said as she threw the bottle across the room. She pulled Barry out of his chair by the collar and led him to the cosmic treadmill. "You're going to run, and tell me everything that comes to that sexy mind of yours," Barry raised an eyebrow, receiving a shrug from Courtney, before climbing onto the treadmill.

He ran as fast as he could, spouting out as many thoughts as he could. "Killing Jake. Leaving the New Directions. Graduating early. Moving to Earth-15. Staying here. Moving on. Sectionals. Kissing Kara. Central City. The Particle Accelerator. My worthless legacy. Nora. Kissing you…" Barry came to a stop after that, his thoughts betraying him as he stared at the wall.

"What?" Courtney asked.

"I…" Barry stepped off of the treadmill. "That was impulsive of me. I'm sorry. Umm...if it's ok, I think I'm gonna head h-" Barry was cut off by Courtney's soft lips, which suddenly attached to his own in a heated kiss. After several moments, the two broke apart, gasping for breath.

"I think I need to transfer schools," Courtney breathed.
