Makoto leaves his prison to find himself on Angelgard. His father's ship is moored at shore, none the worse for wear. It now carries him back to Galdin Quay... Back at his Kingdom.
Chapter 14: Homecoming
Makoto drives the boat toward Galdin Quay with Umbra accompanied, and he look around to see that everything around his world has covered in darkness with no daylight around.
Music Cue: A World Unawaking (Final Fantasy XV)
"Man... How long was I out?" Makoto wondered as he arrival at the dock and see see that Galdin Quay is deserted and in shambles, as he look around in horror..
"Where did everybody go?" Makoto wondered as he takes a few steps forward, daemons begin pouring out of the main venue at Galdin Quay and rush the dock. "Daemons everywhere. The hell happened?" He mumbled as he makes his way through the debris of Galdin Quay.
This is it? This is all that's left of Lucis?" Makoto concluded after makes his way through the debris of the main venue at Galdin Quay to the boardwalk that leads to shore.
"Hope everyone's okay." He said in worried, upon making it to the main highway, Umbra blinked around him.
"What is it, boy? Something's coming." Makoto asked in cautious.
Music Cue: Homecoming (Final Fantasy XV)
After a few seconds, a truck pulls into view around the bend and the vehicle approaches. The truck pulls over and comes to a stop when it reaches Noct; he walks up to the driver's side door; the driver is a young wolf. And he look surprised to see Makoto. "Are you Makoto?" He asked. As he nodded to him. And then the young man smiled. "It's me, Talcott. My grandpa served the Amicitia family?"
"Talcott?" Makoto exclaimed, knowing that it was actually him and he looks like an adult now. "No way!"
"Yes way. Welcome back, Your Majesty." Talcott smiled as Makoto hop on his truck as Talcott is on the phone calling. "Yes, sir, that's right. Hm? Just a second." Talcott said as he hands the phone to Makoto. "He wants to have a word with you?" Talcott said.
"He can have it in person." Makoto declined as Talcott puts the phone back up to his own ear.
"He said you can have it in person. Okay. We should be there shortly, sir." Talcott said on the phone and begins to drive them all to Hammerhead; along the way, they pass a number of daemons prowling the land.
"Wow. I can't tell you how good it is to see you again." Talcott said in remarked.
"Yeah. You sure look different, though." Makoto noticed knowing Talcott look matured before.
"You think so? Guess I've grown some these fifteen years.
"Fifteen Years?" Makoto exclaimed.
"The guys must be pinching themselves right now." Talcott said.
"Where are they anyway?" Makoto asked.
"Lestallum, more often than not, but they take a lot of trips to Hammerhead." Talcott explained.
"For…?" Makoto tilted his head.
"For Miss Nazz... y'know, back at the garage. She's a tough one, but when she needs a little extra muscle out on the road, she gives 'em a call." Talcott replied. "Oh, speaking of which, the guys said they're near Hammerhead right now, so we'll be meeting them there. Y'know, ever since you disappeared, Your Majesty, it's been nothing but nighttime nonstop. Lestallum still has light... thanks to the power plant... So just about everyone's taken refuge there.
"Only Lestallum?" Makoto asked in disbelief, Talcott sighed sadly.
"Everything else's been abandoned. Daemons moved in, forcing the people to move out. People still swing by the garage at Hammerhead from time to time, but it usually isn't for repairs. These days, it's less of a service station and more of a "slayer station"... A base for daemon-hunting. The garage's still open, though…one of the few places that is." Talcott explained.
"So, um… Cid. Is he still alive and kicking?" Makoto asked in worried, knowing how old he is. Talcott chuckled a slight.
"He's kicking alright, just not as hard as before. He hasn't really been himself lately. At lesat, not since he moved out to Lestallum. Someone suggested he move the garage there, too… …but old man Cid wasn't having it. He called it "a big, fat chocobo turd of an idea." Said it just wouldn't be the same anywhere else." Talcott explained.
"That sounds like Cid alright." Makoto comments knowing that he still hasn't change.
"Miss Nazz said she didn't mind either way, so the garage will probably stay put for a while. And without any tinkering to do, Sabaru's gourmet seafood is about all Cid has left to look forward to. With all the daemons prowling around, more folk were getting hurt…or worse. So Chie talked the marshal into taking out the daemons themselves. "Chie the Daemon Slayer," they call her. Finn and the others, they lend 'em a hand whenever they can. Ventus spends most of his time hunting around Hammerhead. He tries to impress Miss Nazz…but she's already married to her work." Talcott explained about their time when Makoto isn't around for fifteen years.
"And Sabaru?" Makoto asked.
"He hunts, too. We tried to stop him, but he wouldn't listen. He said, if anything, he's more used to the darkness than we are." Talcott explained while driving.
"Never did get his vision back…" Makoto frowned.
"I'm afraid not. But, that being said, he gets by pretty well on his own. Gladio and Prompto usually hunt on their own as well. It isn't often you see the three of them together nowadays. They still work as a team every once in a while, but each has his own set of tasks to keep him busy." Talcott said.
"Is that so?" Makoto asked. "But what about the Super Pets including Spot and the others.
"After Namine's Death, they all gone missing and we have no idea where they are. When Finn and the other return, Spot and the others are not with them. Sabaru told us that Spot and the other stayed behind to distract the Daemons at Nyx, while Finn and then other catch up to you. When they returned, they went missing and they all though that Xigbar took them, but unfortunately he wasn't. And we have no idea where they are. But then... 15 years, they all have returned. But their bodies look different." Talcott explained.
"Different?" Makoto repeated.
"Yeah, they're bodies are now just like us, they are now anthropomorphic. They told us that they have been stored away in a secret facility back on earth, and went into a cold sleep. And they all don't know how to got here for... But after they left Earth, they began to help us again. Spot and the others are waiting for you including Sabaru, Ventus and Finn." Talcott explained.
"I see. I wonder what they look like?" Makoto wondered.
"I'm more than happy to tell you everything I know." Talcott offered. "We've even got some former imperials fighting for us. The toughest of 'em said she used to lead a band of mercenaries."
"Okay... Um... How's Minako the Wolf?" Makoto asked.
"So you do know her. I'm not surprised; the marshal said she used to be feared far and wide back in the day. But now she's revered among the Lupis masses... same with her men, Biggs and Wedge. Each of them leads their own small army." Talcott explained.
"That's great. The empire" Makoto asked again.
"Oh, right... about the empire." Talcott realized. "Finn brought back word that both the emperor and high commander were dead. With those two gone, Nyx pretty much fell apart." He explained.
"Yeah, go figure. And what about Xigbar?" Makoto muttered. Talcott with and look disappointed.
"The chancellor's still around, though…in Laputa. Nobody who saw him had any clue what he might have been up to, but their stories piqued Sabaru's curiosity. I ended up helping Sabaru look into the matter... digging through old records, even joining him on trips to the royal tombs." He explained.
"Royally roped into it." Makoto assumed.
"It's cool... I'm in of a history buff myself. But we did discover something pretty weird." Talcott recalled. "While we were poring over all those ancient texts, one name caught our eye: Xigbar. Apparently he was hailed as a savior, healing all those who were ravaged by daemons… …only to end up branded a daemon himself... a dubious charge, I'd say. By all accounts, he was just as human as you and me." Talcott explained.
"What about the Daemons?" Makoto asked as he watch around.
"On the bright side, we've come a little closer to understanding the daemons. Y'see, I'd always thought they were animals, only more hideous and savage. But…it turns out they're just ordinary people…" Talcott frowned, which make Makoto look horrified about this. "…unlucky folk infected by something or other that transformed them into monsters. There's no known cure as of yet, so death is the only mercy."
"So that's what happened back at Galdin Quey." Makoto concluded recalled that he found clothes around here. "And what Accordo.
"We've got a lot of survivors pouring in from Accordo, too, what with all the daemon attacks there as of late. Not like it's much better here. Lestallum's practically overflowing with refugees from Insomnia. The empire's "recovery assistance" fell by the wayside, and daemons overran the city. Thankfully, Chie and the marshal managed to evacuate the civilians. Now there's no one left… except the daemons. I spent my childhood in the Crown City. It's sad knowing it's gone, y'know?" Talcott explained.
"Not for long. I became the king to reclaim our home, and now I'm back... as promised." Makoto said while starring at the ring.
"All these years, and you remembered." Talcott said in remarked and then look down again. "Your Majesty…do you remember my grandfather?" He asked as he nodded to him. "There's something I wasn't able to tell you back then. Grandpa died because of me… It was my fault. An imperial officer approached me in town, asked if I was from the Crown City. And that was just the beginning: "What brings you here, young man? You didn't come here by yourself, did you?" "Your grandfather is a butler at a manor? How very grand!" "He rubs shoulders with the royal family? You must be ever so proud!" I answered him without thinking. A little after that, the man showed up at our hotel." Talcott recalled and then look sad again.
"Talcott…" Makoto comfort him.
"Think what you will of me, but please know that Grandpa didn't give you away." Talcott replied.
Makoto sighed knowing that Talcott still blame for his death. "Listen. You're not a kid anymore. You should know by now what happened that day wasn't your fault... none of it. Y'know, it's hard to ask someone about their pain, but it's just as hard to share your own with someone else. I appreciate you opening up to me, and I swear I'll make things right. But believe me when I say nobody blames you. Not me, not your grandpa. Trust me: you have the king's word." Makoto encouraged him, which Talcott feels better again.
"I suppose you're right, Your Majesty. Thank you." Talcott appreciated, and then they finally made to Hammerhead. "We've arrived, Your Majesty. Everyone'll be so happy to see you. Don't worry... I won't be going anywhere." Talcott informed as he drives through the new perimeter gate at Hammerhead, then parks near Takka's Pit Stop; Sabaru, Spot and their other are standing there, waiting; Makoto gets out and walks over to them as he waved his hand to them.
Music Cue: Mistic (Persona 3)
"Huh? That's all you have to respond for yourself... after all this time?" Finn asked as he puts his hand on Makoto's shoulder and playfully shoves him.
And then Ventus cheered to see him again, "Makoto, it's you! It's really you!" He cheered as Makoto smiled at him.
"Well, well. You kept us waiting." Sabaru noted as Makoto walks up to him and places his hand on his shoulder; Sabaru smiles.
"Not like I wanted to. We've got catching up to do."Makoto replied, and then look at the Super Pets. "Talcott told me that you guys have return along with everyone."
"Yeah, I'm glad we came back for us, guys." Spot smiled. Including Wheezy, Quiver, Tibber, Scrabian Knight and and Hoppy agreed.
"And we also brought brought three friends to meet you." Hoppy said as look behind him. It was Scoop the Dog, Freckles the Dalmatian and Gutenberg who are now anthropomorphic.
"It was so wonderful to meet you, your majesty." Scoop said.
"Once we reclaimed your Kingdom. Everything will return to the way it was." Freckles said.
"And you guys, better get a great story about all this." Gutenberg said.
"We will." Makoto agreed. As the ten friends walk toward Takka's Pit Stop, and they began to talk each other about how they were doing. After that they all have now walked outside the gate.
"Well, fellas, we're homeward bound at last. Time to suit up." Finn declared.
"Finally get to rock these threads." Ventus cheered.
"Including our suit, they are ready for battle." Spot states.
"Wear them with pride." Sabaru noted.
"Yeah, just hope they still fit." Makoto said.
Music Cue: Last Campsite (Final Fantasy XV)
They make camp on the same hill overlooking Insomnia where they once bore witness to the imperial invasion; Ignis cooks their dinner, just as he did in the old days, but it was Makoto's favourite. "Memory Lane Pastry." Makoto smiled knowing that Sabaru finally found the right taste from Twilight.
After fifteen long years of solitude, Makoto is reunited with his friends. Breaking camp for the final time, they return to the Crown City of Insomnia, where the Chosen King will make his stand and restore the Light to the world.
Makoto and his retinue walk into view, prepared to fight their way to the Citadel in the heart of Insomnia; he now wears the Kingly Raiment, as Sabaru, Finn and Ventus wear the uniform of the Kingsglaive, while Spot and his friends wear new suit for battle.
Music Cue: Somnus (Final Fantasy XV)
"Home, sweet home." Finn said as he around the ruins of theirs.
"Yeah, at long last." Ventus agreed.
"Man, I can't believe it become like this, and I wish we know what it looks like back then." Spot frowned.
"You'll see... Once we rebuilt it." Sabaru replied. "What we've been waiting for…" he said as all nodded to him in agreement.
"Next stop: the Citadel." Finn declared as Makoto put on his ring. And remember the time he has with his father and the city, he look at his friend in a serious look.
"Are you with me?" Makoto asked as they all nodded to him. "It's time to finish this once and for all!"
They all began to fight against the Daemons to reach the citadel.
"Hmm, I'm surprised we haven't seen any Glaives around here." Finn noticed.
"Why would we?" Makoto asked.
"Because they're doing reconnaissance, dealing with the daemons as they go." Sabaru explained.
"Their base is up ahead, come on." Finn said as they all went to the Citadel Station. And saw the bodies of the Glaives in horror.
"Oh no..." Makoto said in horror.
"Looks like the daemons got them." Spot concluded.
"Then we should hurry. There may be survivor nearby." Sabaru suggested as they went on ahead.
Music Cue: Calamity (Persona 3)
During their fighting against the Daemons, they saw their friend Craig fighting at the Daemons on his own, and it looks he's in trouble. They all began to help him out and defeated all the daemons together.
"That's all of them. And I'm glad you made it back, Highness." Craig said. As Makoto nodded to him. "I've got something to show you. Follow me.
"So what brought you back in Laputa?" Makoto asked.
"We wanted to do what we could to make sure everything was in order. For the day the King returned to reclaim his rightful seat on the throne." Craig explained. "We're stationed just up ahead. It's just about the only place we have left."
He opened the door a revealed all the remaining Glaives members, and they look surprised to see Makoto again.
Music Cue: Last Campsite (Final Fantasy XV)
"Good news, everyone. Your king has returned." Craig smiled, which cause the Glaive look happy to see him again. "Your highness, for many moons we have eagerly awaited the coming of this day." He informed as they all bowed to him.
"Brother and sisters, brave warriors of Laputa... You've done well these fifteen years. And I thank you. You've done so much, all for my sake... Even as the darkness overcame our world, we kept the light alive in our hearts. We've all lost friends and loved ones along the way, but the one thing we never lost was freedom. Brothers and sister, I ask you to stand by me and fight at my side... For the light, and the future of our world and freedom!" Makoto said as he raise his fist.
"All hail the king!" The cried out as they also raise their fist.
"It's looks like the Glaive are fire up." Wheezy noticed.
"They're so happy to have him back." Scrabian added.
"Yeah... But none are happier then us." Tibber concluded.
Makoto and the other began to help out the Glaive against the Daemons together, and they complete all the areas for them. Makoto and his friends decided that they should head to the citadel. And then saw Cerberus guarding the citadel.
Music Cue: Unavoidable Battle (Persona 3)
"Looks like he has his pet." Quiver assumed.
"We can only hope it's bark is worse than it bite." Hoppy stated.
"Then I suggested that we bite back!" Makoto declared. But unfortunately it has no effect on it.
"That's one tough pet." Tibber muttered.
"Isn't it too late to ask Xigbar to call it off?" Ventus asked.
Then suddenly Craig appeared and strike Cerberus's head.
"I don't want to miss all the fun." Craig said.
"Nope, you're just in time to fight this thing." Makoto smirked.
"Great, it may be down. But it's not over!" Craig insisted. As they all prepared to fight Cerberus.
They use all their strength to fight against it together, and finally defeated Cerberus, they all began to catch their breath, but then Cerberus began to unleash his fiery breath at Makoto, but then Craig push him out the way and got himself burn, much for everyone's horror.
Music Cue: Cerberus (Final Fantasy XV)
"Hey, are you alright!?" Makoto panicked as Craig cough in blood.
"Looks like even "the immortal" has his limits... I've failed you, Highness." Craig frowned as he began to go weak.
"No! You're not!" Makoto insisted then Craig hold his arms.
"It has been... The highest honour... To serve the two finest kings... Lapis has even known." Craig weakly said.
"And I am honoured to have fought at your side, Marshal." Makoto sobbed.
"Perhaps, we'll meet again... At daybreak." Craig smiled as he walk away injured.
Makoto and then other look depressed for this, but decided to keep going to the citadel. But unfortunately there's a Magical barrier around it.
"Looks like there's no way past the walls..." Spot assumed. And then suddenly, behind them they saw many daemons coming towards them.
"There's way too many of them!" Ventus exclaimed.
"And no way outta this, either." Spot stated.
"Still, we can't give up form this." Makoto insisted, knowing that Craig, his fsther, Namine including everyone are coming on him to finish this battle. Then suddenly he saw sylleblossoms pedal around him and his friends and noticed the Spirit of Namine appeared along with Gentiana.
"Namine!?" Makoto exclaimed to see her again.
"Gods above, hear my plea: lend the chosen king your strength that he may save our star from darkness' Blight!" Namine called out.
"The lady's words have reached the heavens. By the will of the oracle and the grace of the gods, a path for this king is made." Gentiana said as she transformed into Shiva.
Music Cue: Luna's Call (Final Fantasy XV)
And the other god began to help them out, Ramuh destroy the daemons with his lightning, Shiva began to use their ice against the barrier, Leviathan slither around the barrier, Titan appeared and began to bash the barrier with it's strength, then finally Bahamut rains down swords against the barrier and the barrier has been destroyed, Makoto and his friend stared in awe. He look at Namine knowing that she's fading away. But before she leave, Makoto walk towards her and say.
"Thank you, Namine. I'll be here for you?" Makoto softly said as she bowed down to him with a smiled before she disappeared into light, she saw some words for him.
"The fate of our star rest with you now, my King." Namine said and then she completely disappeared leaving Makoto smile sadly. And he even shed a tear for her.
"Talk about a divine intervention." Scrabian Knight comment.
"Feels good to know the gods are fighting on our side." Sabaru said.
"And they've entrusted the future to you, Makoto." Hoppy added.
Makoto agreed. "Yeah. Wouldn't want to let 'em down now." He said as they all headed to the citadel together, they all made it to the courtyard in front of the Citadel, but then they saw Xigbar at the stairs.
"Ifrit, the Infernian. He doesn't share the Glacian's fondness for mankind. But you can expect a…warm welcome. I shall await you…above." Xigbar said as he disappeared in fire as Ifrit appeared. And then the area began to engulf in fire.
Music Cue: Black Powder (Kingdom Hearts)
"Stay cool. He's gonna bring the heat." Makoto warned.
As he stared at Ifrit, who sits upon a throne of bones looking bored; Ifrit, a pillar of flame erupts from the air in front of the fiery entity, enveloping Makoto as he launched away, landing on his back with sections of his clothing on fire; Then his friend, Ventus, gets down on his knees beside Makoto, and quickly pats out the flames with his hands, while Spot using his gadget to block the fire around them. Along with Tibbet who is using his magic at Ifrit. "Stay down. We'll keep him busy." Ventus said as he and the other two rejoins the battle.
Makoto gets back to his feet; once he does so, Sabaru, who is kneeling behind cover near Ifrit's throne with Hoppy along with Quiver as he aim his arrow at Ifrit. "Makoto! Over here!" Sabaru called out as Makoto begins to go toward him, but is moving slowly due to his wounds.
"Quickly, before he strikes again!" Quiver warned. Suddenly, Makoto is tackled from behind by Finn along with Whizzy then Scrabian Knight as they pulled into cover where Sabaru and the other two were; Ventus, Spot and Tibbet joins the other three within a second.
"Here it comes!" Ventus panicked as they saw another pillar of flame from Ifrit washes around the ten as they huddle together and use their cover for protection; when the flames pass, Ventus, Finn and the others immediately break from cover and charge at Ifrit, and Spot give him a potion to heal Makoto. The heir to the throne of Luputa rises once more and continues the charge alongside his friends.
"Let's go!" He cried out, as they began to charged at Ifrit and begin their battles against it.
They all began to fight Ifrit together as a team, then a Giant Sword appeared which seems to be belong to Bahamut. Makoto saw him above and rain down all the swords on Ifrit, but Ifrit dodge all the swords. Bahumut look Makoto knowing that I was his turn to finish it off. Makoto agreed as he strike Ifrit down. But unfortunately Ifrit is still alright from Makoto.
"So even that wasn't enough?" Finn complaint.
"It's taken a turn for the worse." Spot said.
"Out of the frying pan, dot, dot, dot?" Ventus joked.
"We need to put this thing out!" Makoto stated. Then suddenly Makoto feels cold and noticed that Gentiana appeared beside and transformed into Shiva again and then she Diamond Dust, which encases Ifrit in ice, before kissing him and shattering his body and Shiva disappeared in ice.
Rest, my love. May your soul know peace at last. King of Kings, the grace of the gods is with you always.
"I made a promise…one that I intend to keep." Makoto declared as they all made to the Citadel.
Music Cue: Somnus (Final Fantasy XV)
"At long last, the Citadel." Sabaru said.
"The throne is just up ahead." Makoto stated.
"It's all lit up." Ventus said.
"Guess he's expecting company." Spot noted.
"He wants this as bad as we do." Makoto said.
"Think the elevator's workin'?" Hoppy asked.
"Huh… Sure looks like it." Ventus guessed.
"He is really taking us by the hand." Scrabian Knight said.
"It'll save our legs the walk up." Makoto noted.
Then suddenly they heard Xigbar's voice. And they all look cautious, around their surroundings.
Music Cue: The Fierce & Rogue (Final Fantasy XV)
That was a most impressive performance. You thought that was good? Was till you see what we've got in store for you. I'm giddy with anticipation! But I'm afraid you've one more wall to break through first. The old wall... King of Yore. Oh, what fun it will be to watch those I recipe most tear each other apart.
Then Xigbar summoned the Fierce of Laputa and it began to attack Makoto and his friends. They all bring out their weapons and began to fight against it. Makoto and the group began to use their moves and gadget against the monster together as a team. Finn blocked it attack with his shield
"I've served as your Shield through metal and armor. No matter what, I've got your back... Now and always!" Finn yelled as he finished off the Fierce. And it began to disappeared into crystal. And they all proceeds to head off to the next area, they all headed to the elevator knowing what they're going to do as they prepared themselves.
"The throne room... Is waiting for us." Hoppy said.
"Yeah... And Xigbar too. Take over as his place then" Scrabian Knight added.
"We should be careful, who know what he's done to Makoto's ancestor." Tibber warned.
"Yeah, and ends here tonight." Makoto said.
Then they have appeared in an unknown area and they saw the Rogue of Laputa. Knowing that Xigbar summoned it. They bring out their weapons and begin battle against the rogue. Ventus began to the Rogue with his own action.
"I own Makoto... For standing by me always! And now... It's my turn to stand by him!" Ventus declared as he finished the rogue with his shooting gun. And it disappeared into crystal. Makoto and the other began to keep going to the next area to the throne room, and then suddenly a giant sword appeared and it's seem the Mystic appeared and began to fight Makoto and his friends. They all look confident to fight it again just like the previous two. And they are always ready for battle. And they won't back down from battle.
Music Cue: The Mystic (Final Fantasy XV)
"I will set to it that nothing stands in Makoto's way!" Sabaru shouted as he goes the Grenada at the Mystic. "And I will do whatever it takes.. no matter the cost!" He impaled the mystic with his spear and then Mystic still rise up and began to attack them again.
The Super Pets know that it's their turn to finish it off together.
"Makoto is the true King to end everything!" Spot shouted. As he use his gadget at The Mystic
"The adventures that he gave us was inspection and friendship! Shazam" Hoppy called out the thunder at the Mystic.
"He was the best king we ever met!" Quiver said as he fire three arrow at it.
"We will always be by his side!" Wheezy said as slash the Mystic with his dagger.
"And we can't let Makoto lose this fight!" Scrabian Knight shouted as blast the Mystic with his power.
"Cause we are... One!" They shouted as the finished it with Makoto's help. And the Mystic Collapse and stared at Makoto as he began to faded away into crystal.
You have done well... Hear me, Chosen King. The time has come to fulfill your calling and dispel the darkness from our world. Go forth. Restored the Light gained everyone's freedom... And free my brother from his curse.
Makoto look at his friends with smile. "Thank you, everyone. With you one my side... I know I will be ready for anything." He smiled as he stared the door that lead to the Throne Room.
Music Cue: Somnus (Final Fantasy XV)
"Well, shall we?" Sabaru asked as they all agreed.
"Yeah, but first... Ventus, I want a photo of yours." Makoto said.
"Why?" Ventus asked as he look his album.
"I want it to take it with me." Makoto explained.
"Well... Okay... I give you one. Which one?" Ventus asked as he show Makoto his Album.
"This one." Makoto said as he picked the photo.
"Are you sure, you want it?" Ventus asked as Makoto nodded to him. "Alright, let's go. To the Final Battle."
They all agreed, and they are ready to fight against Xigbar. They made it to the throne room and in horror they saw, Makoto gritted his teeth.
Xigbar sits above, on the throne of Luputa; facsimiles of the corpses of the emperor, Arthur, Namine and another person hang from chains before the throne; Xigbar smirks as his guests walk to the center of the room to stare him down.
"I'm afraid you're out of luck. The throne brings you here? It seats only one." Xigbar mocked.
"Off my chair, jester. The king sits there." Makoto demanded as Xigbar stands and places one foot on the throne before scowling down at Makoto
"Oh, Makoto… How I have waited for this. Longer than you could ever know." Xigbar said as slowly raises his hand into a fist. "Tonight, the dreams of the blood royal…come to an end." He declared
"Spite's all that's kept him going." Finn muttered.
"Talk about a grudge." Ventus shrugged.
"Yeah, I agree." Spot said.
"You cannot take over their world, Xigbar." Hoppy respond.
"Yeah, we are going to restored the Light and bring back the People's freedom from you." Scrabian Knight said.
"You are nothing but a corrupted person to yourself." Quiver noted.
"Once we defeat you, Makoto will reclaimed his Throne." Wheezy said.
"And you will be on a crying like little baby." Tibber joked.
"Xigbar crying?" Sabaru asked in amusement.
"Not for long. This is my ascension." Makoto said then suddenly Xigbar fire nine flaming purple energy blasts from his hand; each one finds a target in Makoto's brothers, rendering them unconscious.
"What did you do!?" Makoto angrily yelled at him.
"They have no place in this, the battle of kings! Come, Noctis!" Xigbar cried out as he departs the Citadel through a large hole in the wall of the throne room; as Makogo goes up the stairs toward the throne, the bodies hanging from the ceiling, along with their chains, disappear in purple fire; Makoto stops to watch.
Music Cue: Battle for Everyone's Soul (Persona 3)
"It ends now." Makoto declared as he proceeds to the hole in the throne room wall and follows him to the ground outside.
"The once helpless and hapless prince. Is he now ready to claim his crown? Don't let us down." Xigbar replied as the two kings warp-strike at one another before briefly clashing their swords, launching one another into buildings on opposite sides of the street; they then warp back to the ground to continue facing off as buildings crumble around them. Then they stop for a moment]
"Let it be done. Until only one remains." He declared, as the two of them began to clash at each other as Xigbar chuckled. "So you are the Chosen King… …but you are a second choice, at best." Then they both back away from each other. "Ah… My revenge is soon at hand… How long have I waited…?
"Don't worry. It's far from over." Makoto smirked.
"Well, let's have it, then. You and your Crystal… …against all I have become." Xigbar smirked.
"Power…of light!" Makoto cried out as sword glow.
"Ahh, a king! At last!" He cheered as the spirits of Lapis appears around the courtyard.
"A war…of attrition, then." He declared as he noticed the Spirits of Lapis appeared around them. "The Kings of Yore are on hand. Calling you forth…to oblivion." Xigbar said,
Makoto and Xigbar still continues to fight each other, and they look tired and exhausted in battle. Then Makoto heard him chuckled again.
"Yet when your father died… …you were off playing with your friends! When your beloved died… …you lay watching, powerless to stop it! You think ten years is a long time!? It is nothing to me! I have lived in darkness for ages!" He chuckled insanity, then he was felt stab by something and saw a blade on abdomen, which turns out that Makoto stab him anger for insulting and taunting about everything he went through. As Xigbar began to couch blood. "So that is how you would end it." He assumed as he falls over backward
The spirits of the Lapis slowly vanish one by one while Xigbar lays on the ground dying.
"Now it is over, Majesty." Xigbar declared as Makoto walks up to his dying adversary. "What will you do?" He asked as Makoto crouches down beside him "Banish the daemons and bring peace and freedom? Erase me from history once more?" Xigbar guessed.
Makoto sigh deeply. "This time…you can rest in peace. Close your eyes…forevermore." Makoto softly said as Xigbar closes his eyes.
"I will await you…in the beyond." He weakly said.
Xigbar's head tilts to one side as his body begins discorporating; Makoto shuts his own eyes as the last embers of Xigbar's body vanish into the rainy sky; Moment later, Makoto's friends are already awakened and standing at ground level in front of the steps of the citadel. And they all look so sad for this goodbye knowing that Makoto will be gone.
Music Cue: Memories of the School (Persona 3)
"So this is farewell." Ventus sadly guessed.
Makoto sighed. "Yeah. Here we are." He said.
"It's all you." Finn sadly smile to him as Makoto nods, turns and begins ascending the steps.
"No turning back now." Spot noted.
"Yeah, we're all going to miss you, Makoto." Scrabian Knight agreed.
"It's been a fun adventure with you." Wheezy said.
"We will honour your sacrifice as always." Quiver said.
"We won't forget you, Makoto... Ever" Tibber said.
"We'll always be with you." Hoppy smiled?
Makoto does indeed stop and turn around, however; he addresses to his friends
"Everyone. I leave it to you. Walk tall…my friends." Makoto command as they all are silent for a moment.
"Godspeed…and take care." Sabaru smiles as they all put their hand over their chest and bow "Majesty."
Behind them, two iron giants begin manifesting up out of the ground; Makoto puts his own hand over his chest.
"The time has come." Makoto declared.
Makoto turns and continues ascending the steps; his friends turn to face the coming daemons, as at least three more iron giants begin manifesting; Noctis walking up the steps in the throne room; he comes to the throne, and places his right hand on the left armrest.
"I'm home. I walked tall… And though it took me a while, I'm ready now." Makoto said as he sits down on the throne and then smile. "I love you all. Namine, guys…" Then the Ring of the Crystal begins glowing on Makoto's hand and then a Spirit of his Father appeared. "Dad… The time we had together… I cherish." Makoto lifts his head and closes his eyes. "Kings of Lucis…" Makoto whispered.
Music Cue: Somnus Ultima (Final Fantasy XV)
Outside the Citadel, Ramuh, Leviathan, Titan and Shiva appear floating in the air; Shiva is holding Ifrit's severed horn; they all turn to energy that rapidly flows into the sky directly above the Citadel, where it joins with energy in the shape of Bahamut; back in the throne room, Makoto's eyes jerk open as he conjures his father's sword.
"Come to me!" Makoto called out as he stabs his father's sword into the floor in front of him.
As he does so, energy in the shape of the other 12 royal arms descend from above and impale the floor around the throne; the spirit of each weapon's corresponding Lupis rises from the floor in front of the weapon; they each take hold of their weapon and float into the air in front of Makoto; then, one by one, they descend upon him and skewer him with their weapon before being absorbed into the ring until all but Arthur have done so; his head bowed in pain, Makoto remember his friends including Namine in his mind; slowly, weakly, he lifts his father's sword and holds its hilt out to him.
"Dad… Trust in me…" He pleaded him
Arthur's spirit takes the sword, rises in front of Noctis, and holds the weapon aloft, poised to strike; after hesitating for a moment, the strike is delivered through Makoto's abdomen; his body is left pinned to the throne by his father's sword; after a moment, the Ring of the Lupis begins to glow once more, then unleashes a blinding light that fills the throne room; Makoto's spirit floating above a swirling pool of white light, his father's sword in hand; he lifts the sword, then throws it into the swirling mass below, blade-warping to someplace else; that other place is revealed to be the ethereal void, his spirit descends to float face to face with Xigbar's spirit; Xigbar smiles and bows to Makoto; as he straightens back up, his face takes on a look of confusion; he sees apparitions of Arthur, Sabaru, Finn, Ventus, Spot, Tibber, Hoppy, Scrabian Knight, Quiver and Wheezy all beside Makoto; suddenly, Xigbar's head thrashes violently as his eyes turn black and an inhuman growl emerges from him; Xigbar has taken on his daemon appearance; Makoto holds out his right hand, the one which bears the Ring of the Crystal; Xigbar likewise holds out his right hand; suddenly, Namine's spirit places her hands on Xigbar's right arm; as golden light bleeds up his arm, Xigbar jerks away from her, growling as though in pain; Xigbar's spirit doubles over, growling and heaving; he looks up at Makoto; a flash of light bursts from the Ring of the Crystal, vaporizing the sleeve off his jacket and shirt; Makoto grunts in pain, the skin along his arm cracking; he spasms in Makoto's pain as blades of energy tear out of his back; after seemingly coming to a halt, the weapons of the Crystal suddenly burst from Noctis's back and swirl out into the ether, each finding a home in the hand of its owner's spirit; all thirteen Crystal stand assembled; Makoto makes a fist with his right hand, hauls back, and then directs the Crystal forward as though throwing a baseball; the spirits of the deceased kings fall upon Xigbar, who lets out a final, fearful growl before being overwhelmed by the Crystal's onslaught; his spirit floats backward for a moment, then dematerializes into crystal shards; Makoto stands exhausted for a moment, then allows himself, too, to fall back and dematerialize into crystal shards; the Ring of the Crystal floats away, then itself quickly and completely disintegrates. Which cause Makoto's Family Bloodline ended.
It's finally over…
Flashback has started
The group are sitting around a campfire on the hill overlooking Laputa; the occasion is the final camp they shared before the battles in Laputa.
"The ten of us around a campfire. How long's it been?" Makoto wondered?
"Hmm… An eternity." Sabaru assumed?
"So, yeah." Makoto sadly smiled then look away, they all sit quietly for a long moment. "I, um…" He hesitate.
"Out with it." Finn said.
Makoto sighed. "I just…" Then he leans forward and looks down; they're all silent for another moment; Makoto's left hand clenches; he sighs and fidgets with his hands. "…Dammit. The hell is this so hard?" He muttered as he laces his fingers. "So, I…" Then he leans back and lets his left hand rest on his leg; he looks at his friends. "I've made my peace. Still… Knowing this is it, and seeing you here, now." Then his voice voice cracks and a tear streaks down his face as he says this next line. It's... more than I can take." He looks down once again and clenches his hands together; all of them are silent for a few seconds; Finn wipes away a tear with the back of his hand.
"Yeah. You're damn right it is." Ventus sadly agree.
"We are know what you're going to do." Hoppy said.
"But are you sure you're up for it?" Scrabian Knight asked.
"Come on, don't be shy." Tibber encouraged him.
"It's okay, to hesitate for this." Quiver calmly said.
"We're waiting, Makoto." Wheezy said.
"You spit it out." Spot said.
After another brief silence, Sabaru sighs as a tear streaks down his cheek from under his sunglasses. "It's good to hear." He smiled sadly?
They all look down in silence for a long moment; at last, Makoto stands and looks at each of his friends in turn.
"Well… …what can I say?" He asked then began one last word to him, Ventus sighed and rubs away tears including the Super Pets; Makoto looks at them all with tear-filled eyes.
"You guys... ...are the best." Makoto sadly said to him, knowing that it might his last day with them knowing that he will sacrifice himself for the sake of his world.

Dawn returning to the lands all across Eos; on the hill overlooking Laputa, where Makoto's camping chairs still sit, Laputa; in the Citadel's courtyard, at the still-damaged throne room of the Citadel, where a banner bearing the name "Makoto Laputa CXIV" hangs below a great many flowers set before the throne implying his funeral then the voice of Arthur has spoken.
Dearest Luna. You did well to deliver the ring to Makoto. Wayward though my son may indeed be… He has made me proud. May you two know happiness.
On the throne, then upon the left armrest; here sits the picture Makoto chose to take with him before the final battle;a white gloved-hand reaches down and picks it up; it is Makoto, dressed in ceremonial wedding attire; he hands the photo to Namine, who sits beside him; she takes the photo and looks at it for a few seconds; after a moment, Makoto removes his gloves, caresses Namine's face, and the two pull one another into a kiss; they smile at one another as they pull out of the kiss; Namine then lays her head against Makoto's arm, and closes her eyes; his head propped against his hand, Makoto closes his eyes as well; the visual of the two napping together peacefully with a smile.
