Jolene jogged into the hotel and shook the snow from her boots. She couldn't believe that a friend from Paul's past was here. Jared Cameron. She didn't know him, but she had heard Jacob mention him once when they hung out. It made her nervous. If Jared showed up, then who else could pop up their way? Jolene had to catch the elevator to see what the emergency was, however the sound of two people arguing stopped her.

"I don't understand! I have more than enough money for at least one night!" the distressed women said

"I'm sorry mam, the only available rooms are out of your price range. There is nothing I can do."

"my price range. Excuse me! I want to speak to the manager!" the women shouted

"the manager is not here. I suggest you leave before I call the police."

Jolene had heard enough. The front desk was being rude and racist! She couldn't believe this. Her feet instantly found her by the hysterical women's side.

"Excuse me." Jolene spoke coldly to the receptionist. "I've been listening to this conversation for the past ten minutes and I am disgusted! How dare you sit here and discriminate against this woman because of her race and financial status! You have ten minutes to get her a room! I know they are available and if you don't, I will call the police! I am the daughter of a very famous police officer! So, do it now!"

The receptionist was so shocked that she quickly took the distressed women's information and checked her in.

"H-here's your key." The receptionist said shakily.

Jolene snatched it from her hand and quickly handed to the women, it was then that she was able to get a good look at her. Jolene had to quickly hold in a gasp. The women's left side of her face was covered in long scars that reached all the way unto her neck. Jolene consciously rubbed her own scars covered by a long sweater. She knew what it was like to be stared at.

The women caught Jolene stare and stepped back.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare besides I should know better I have some scars of my own." Jolene said as she pulled up her sleeves to show the women her cuts. "anyway, I'm Jolene lahote. I'm so sorry about how she treated you. Is there anything else I can get for you?"

The women cocked her head to the side and said "no thank you you've done so much but I have to ask …did you say your last name was lahote? You don't happen to know a Paul lahote do you?"

Jolene's eyes went wide and she stepped back. "may I ask why?" she said suspiciously. There had been way too many surprises lately.

"Well it's just I had known a man name Paul lahote. He is from my tribe and he disappeared years ago. He's also a distant cousin. I just wanted to know. I'm sorry Its been a long day, look at me asking random strangers if they know people. Besides he wasn't the type to settle down. Anyway, thank you for all your help. I'm going to find my room."

Jolene stood still as the women got on the elevator. She wasn't going to tell her that she knew Paul, but she did need the women's name.

"Wait! What's your name?" she said as she hopped on the elevator with the women.

"oh…its Emily. Emily Uley."

Jolene smiled "please to meet you. Um could you press the up button. I'm on floor five."

"really! I got floor five too. What are you here for?" Emily asked

"im on my honeymoon." Jolene responded.

"really that's wonderful. I wish my husband and I had gotten a honeymoon. He had to work a lot and his job did not permit him to take time off."

"aww, I'm sorry to hear that. my husband and I own a farm and it doesn't permit us to take a vacation a lot."

"oh really! Where are you from?" Emily asked

"down south."

"south? Really I wouldn't have thought you would have a farm you look so- "

"looked paler and don't have an accent? Yeah no, I'm not from Alabama. I was born somewhere else but hey here's my floor. It was nice meeting you Emily."

"oh, wait this my floor too. I'm in room 569."

"oh…well alright then. Ill see you!" Jolene said quickly as she sprinted down the hall. She had to warn Paul.

Of course, as she got to her room, she had to fumble and drop the room key which then unfortunately slid under the door.

"oh my gosh! This day!" she groaned as she tried to get the key car back. She failed. And as she came back up from the ground, she hit her head. Of course, she would.

Sighing, Jolene knocked on the door in frustration.

"…Paul! Babe!?"

She heard the sound of shuffling and voices arguing. It got louder as someone finally opened the door.

"its about time. Paul what is-"

Jolene stopped. To her surprise, It was Jared who answered the door and he looked beyond pissed.

"…Bella you-"

"BELLLA SWAN!" a very feminine voice shouted.

Jolene looked at Jared in question. He in turn motioned her inside.

However what Jolene didn't expect was to see her naked husband on the floor with two naked children in his arms. Their hands and lips looked blue but seemed to be turning back to their normal color right in front of her eyes.

And standing behind them looking at her with a rage in her eyes was sue clearwater. Or now sue swan.

"sue?" Jolene whispered. She couldn't believe it. sue clearwater swan was standing in front of her but did that mean that Charlie was here too? The very thought of seeing Charlie mad a rage boil over that she didn't even know she had.

"is he here? Is Charlie here? Is that why you're here? What is going on?" Jolene asked in frustration

"Excuse me? You're the one who has been missing for seven whole damn years! And then it turns out Charlie had you in some psychiatric institution! And then he goes on and on about your mother looking for you and something about money! So don't you dare act like your so innocent. And then I see Paul! After all this time!" sue stopped yelling and collapsed to the floor.

"seven years Paul! Seven! Where the hell have you been! I-"

"you knew where he was sue! He had been banned from la push! Of course, he wasn't going to come back! And then we have this stupid vampire holding us all hostage!" Jared growled

"everyone…. shut up…now."

The deep and thunderous but somehow quiet voice belong to Paul. All eyes were on him, he was rocking the now sleeping children in his arms.

"jolene… please come here and take the kids to bed. You look exhausted honey. Get some sleep, I have to talk to sue and Jared."

Jolene stood in front of her husband, her arms open and waiting.

"honey…you can trust me…ill keep them safe…I promise." she reassured him.

Paul looked up and smiled at her. he then handed over his children, no their children to her.

Once Jolene was gone Paul looked around the room with yellow eyes. He was still naked but didn't give a rat's tail. He looked over a Victoria and nodded, it was time for her to go.
