Paul looked at his aunt sue and then at his former best friend.

" You both are here. In the same hotel myself and my wife are in . wh-"

"Wife! Bella is your wife!" sue interrupted

"yes. I am his wife and I suggest you lower your voice. The children are sleeping. And as for earlier sue. I don't appreciate being talked down too. I understand you were shocked, but your accusations were very disrespectful especially only just seeing me. Now let my husband speak without interruption."

Paul looked up at his wife in awe. She always knew when to come and have his back. He nodded at her and spoke. He could feel his wolf settle just a little more knowing his mate and pups were finally in the same vicinity.

"once again. I will ask. What are you both doing here? Because it seems suspicious for both of you to be here at the same time."

Sue looked at Jared and Jared looked back at her. Jared was the one to speak.

" We both received letters or notes from our loved ones to meet at the restaurant. I didn't know sue was even going to be here. I was supposed to be meeting Kim but instead of her I saw you."

"and I had gotten a note from Charlie. It said he wanted to apologize for some things and meet for dinner with the kids. On the way here, my car stalled out and a vampire attacked me. Well two really."

"wait two vampires attacked you? What did they look like?" Paul questioned

"well they didn't really attack at least not the second one. There was one with blonde hair and gold eyes and well the other one was the red head that was just in here. The blonde one tried to attack me; she wanted the children. And then the red head came and attacked her. I was then knocked unconscious" Sue explained

Paul stood up and growled. It was bad enough Victoria scent clung to every fiber of the room. The room that he still had yet to properly take his mate in. He wanted to claim her in a way that only the wolf knew how and yet they kept being interrupted. And now more vampires were at their doorstep.

"Victoria!" he called

Of course, the red head heard him and appeared on the balcony. She crept in and leaned against the wall. Wary of the very agitated wolf.

"My family member and my pups were attacked by one of your kind. Who was it and why were you there, not that I'm not grateful, but did you foresee this happening?"

Victoria took a breath and to his shock, ducked her head as a sign of …submission.

"I was the one who wrote the notes for your friend and your aunt. I however did not foresee the breakdown of your aunt's car and nor did I expect Irina Denali to try to kill your aunt nor your children."

"Denali? As in the Denali coven?" Jolene asked

"you know of this coven?" Paul's wolf snarled as he looked at her. While he was glad to have his pups and mate in the same vicinity, he was also agitated. His wolf had yet to truly claim his mate the way it should have properly been done. In agitation, Paul stood. He began to pace, waiting for his mate's explanation.

" I know of them. The Cullen coven spoke of them often. They referred to them as cousins." Jolene responded. her head was held high as she looked him in the eye but it wasn't in defiance or dominance but in equality. She knew her place and he knew his. She was his support. And he guided them. He always welcomed her voice and now was the time.

"Victoria and Jolene can think of any reason why this cold one would want our pups?"

Victoria held her submissive pose and said "years ago your pack attacked a member of my former coven. His name was Laurent and he was here in forks running errands doing me a favor but before this he was involved with Irina Denali. Coming upon forks he encountered your pack and he was killed. Irina somehow found out and when she smelled your children, she knew they were of wolf blood. I fought her and was able to hurt her enough to take your children and aunt and run away."

"So now there is a cold one aware of my children and is after them!" Paul growled

Jolene moved beside Paul and touched his bare chest. He was still naked by the way.

"honey, maybe we should talk to Jared and your aunt sue. I'm sure they want to know what you've been up to all these years and then lets leave the rest for tomorrow. I'm sure we can get your aunt sue and Jared a room for a few nights and oh speaking of rooms theirs's a woman down the hall from us her name is Emily uley. She said she knew you?"

The room went silent.

Jolene looked around "What? What did I say?"

"Did you say Emily? Emily uley! Oh my gosh she's here!" sue exclaimed

"I can't believe she's here! Sam's probably freaking out!" Jared commented

Paul growled at the name of the other male. His wolf couldn't stand knowing that now, not only were his pups and mate in danger but now his former alpha was possibly in the vicinity.

Paul headed for the door and motioned for sue and Jared to follow him. He stopped and looked his wife dead in the eye. She stared back,

"keep them safe…please."

She nodded silently, nothing more needed to be said.

Paul took one big sniff as he headed down the hall. He didn't need her room number, he could smell Sam's scent clinging to her, and it was strong. He could tell she hadn't been away from him more than a day.

Paul found the room where the scent was strongest and quickly knocked on the door.

"who is it?" Emily scared voice asked from behind the door.

"Emily…its Paul. I need you to open the door."

Meanwhile, Jolene looked over the two small children. Their skin was now a glowing copper. She tucked the covers tightly over their already warm bodies.

"mmm-Where's daddy?" the boy who looked exactly like Paul asked

"oh, sweetie did I wake you. I'm sorry, he had to run a few errands… he'll be back soon."

"where's Suesue?" he asked

"I'm sorry she went with your dad, but they will be back soon."

"oh…You're really pretty. Are you our new mommy? I always wanted a mommy. I saw you in daddy's mind. You make him really happy."

Jolene smiled and gently pushed the him back down.

"I'm glad I make him happy. He makes me happy too. You go back to sleep. He'll be back by the time you wake up."

"mm-k, wait what's your name?" he asked sleepily

"..its Jolene."

"my name's Nathan." He said with a yawn "my sissy's name is Sarah."

Jolene smiled. His eyes were half closed but the snores were rolling out. Just like his father.

She went to back to the living room down was finally able to sit down.

"you've had a long day."

Jolene looked over to the corner where Victoria sat. had she been sitting there this whole time?

"yes, I have but so have you? Did you know this was going to happen?"

"if I had a dime for every time someone asked me that." Victoria said

Jolene smiled. "I'm sorry, I know there are restrictions to your gift. Thank you for bringing pauls children back to him."

Victoria smiled but it didn't reach her eyes. "There is much that needs to be done. Listen, I have to leave for a little while Jolene. Ill contact you once I have the information I need. Take care of those precious babies. I'll be back soon."

Jolene nodded and proceeded to call Ms. Li; she had a great idea.

Emily uley shook with fear as Paul lahote stared her down.

"P-Paul? W-what are you doing here!?"

"Emily, I should be asking you the same question." He growled

"well, I -I-"

"you were running away from Sam? After all these years of abuse you finally leave the almighty alpha and found yourself here…"

Emily looked up at him in terror. She had not realized how scared of men she truly was. Her husband had done that to her especially in the presence of a wolf.

"Peace Emily uley. We mean you no harm." Paul's wolf rumbled. He then gently took her into his arms and the wolf began to purr.

"No harm will come to you or your unborn child. We promise."

It was then that Emily uley broke into sobs. "I'm just so scared!" she wailed

"SSSh, He will not harm you. No one will harm you. Now you will rest. It has been a long day. Sue will stay with you and so will Jared. You won't be alone."

Emily sobbed harder as Paul held her tightly. He held her like that until she fell asleep.

After he put her in bed he turned to sue and Jared.

"I know you both have questions and I will answer them but not tonight. Both of you go to sleep. Get rest and we will have a late breakfast."

With that said Paul hugged sue and Jared and went back to his room.

His wolf was ready to cringe at the smell of leech Except a wonderful smell of freesia, vanilla and cinnamon hit his nose. All around the room were lit candles and the fire place had been lit. laying on the floor n a palate made of blankets and pillows was his beautiful wife.
