Slayer and Onyx were talking with each other.
So your just going to leave. After coming out of no where and scaring some of them. Your leaving!? Slayer said.
Well, when you put it like that. It makes sound like I don't come around to often. Onyx said.
Fine, I don't care. Just don't do anything stupid. Slayer said.
Ok should we go back we are almost done. Onyx said.
Slayer nods. Both left and called back everyone.
They waited for everyone to come back to their sits.
OK is that everyone. Slayer said as he looked around the room.
Everyone accounted for my dear brother. Onyx said.
Then let's get started. Slayer said and turns the screen on.
It stayed black for a moment, and all that can be heard is the background noise of diagnostics. Then the word "_INITIALIZING" pops up on the screen.
Jax: That's it. Here goes nothing...
Sub-Zero's mainframe begins rebooting, all of which is seen from his POV.
Smoke: You are certain this will work?
Jax: Hell no! I've never done this before. It's not like there's a manual.
The screen is suddenly lit up in red. The word "OVERRIDE" shows up in enlarged text. It successfully engages, and Sub-Zero tries connecting to a wireless uplink. The connection fails and an error pops up, noting his command and control module is missing. With that, his slaving protocols are disengaged and his autonomous command module is engaged, restoring his higher brain function. Smoke looks directly into his eyes at this point.
"Whoa." Some said as they could see what Sub-Zero sees.
"Is that how he sees the world now?" Ruby asked.
"That looks confusing as hell." Yang said. There was too many things happening at once.
Penny was glad she doesn't see the world like that.
Smoke: Sub-Zero? (To Jax) Can he hear me?
Jax: He should.
Sub-Zero locks onto Smoke's eye and does a retinal identification.
Smoke: Sub-Zero?
The scan provides Sub-Zero with information about Smoke, including his age, country of origin (both unknown), his allegiance (Lin Kuei) and special ability (teleportation).
Cyber Sub-Zero: Yes, Smoke.
Smoke: How do you feel?
"They fix him." Ruby said happy that they got Sub-Zero back.
"So the Lin Kuei are all just slaves now." Blake said as she narrow her eyes as well as the other faunas in the room.
To put it bluntly, Yes, they are. Onyx said.
"Is that all it takes to return them to normal." Ironwood said.
You mean normal in a robot body, then yes, but them trying to get their human body back that is a different story. Slayer said.
CHAPTER 14: Cyber Sub-Zero
The camera cuts to a view of the temple the heroes are currently in. Cyber Sub-Zero sits up on the slab he's been placed on. He grunts in displeasure.
Smoke: What is it?
Cyber Sub-Zero: I remember... The things I have done for Shao Kahn...
Smoke places a hand on his friends shoulder.
"It wasn't his fault." Ruby cried out.
"They made him do all of that, can't fault him." Yang said.
It doesn't change anything. He still killed people. He has their blood on his hands. Onyx said.
Cyber Sub-Zero: He cannot be allowed to merge the realms.
Nightwolf turns to Raiden.
Nightwolf: Haokah, how can Sub-Zero best help us?
Raiden: I do not know. My attempts to alter future events have had negative consequences. Sub-Zero should never have undergone this transformation. Enlisting him may only further divert the flow of time.
Stryker: We need Intel, right? Let's send him back to Outworld undercover.
Cyber Sub-Zero: They will be unaware of my defection. I could deceive them.
"Hmm. That is good idea they wouldn't know." Jaune said.
"But it's also dangerous. Once they find out they are going to kill him quickly." Ironwood said.
"You've done missions like that, sir." Ruby asked.
"OF coruse how do you think we find some White Fangs bases. We send in undercover faunas to gather Intel." He said.
"YOU'VE DONE WHAT?" Sienna and Adam shouted.
Hey calm down. Come on. You guys are doing the opposite of doing good. Instead you are making other faunas hate your cause. I would even go as far and say they want you guys gone just as much. Slayer said.
That made both faunas shut up.
Raiden considers this in silence. The scene then cuts to Shao Kahn's throne room. Sektor and Cyrax are conversing with Noob Saibot, while several Tarkatan minions await orders. A portal has been opened and Cyber Sub-Zero walks through it.
"Let's see if they catch on." Cinder said. She still can't believe how easy it was to infiltrate Beacon.
Noob: Earthrealm is finished. It will not be missed.
Sektor: Very well. You will return.
Noob and Cyrax walk off into the portal, with the minions following.
Sektor: You report late. Where is the intruder?
Cyber Sub-Zero: I killed him in Earthrealm.
Sektor: He should have been saved for interrogation.
"They would have killed Kabal any ways if they caught him." Blake said.
"I think they just wanted to know where he come from." Yang said.
Cyber Sub-Zero: He was formidable. I had no choice.
Sektor: Follow me. We must lead a new mission.
Sektor walks into the portal and Sub-Zero follows. They emerge in the Subway.
Cyber Sub-Zero: What mission brings us here?
Sektor: I have scanned your neural net, 5-2-0. Your neuromodulators have been recalibrated.
Everyone was silence at how Sektor figure out what happen to Sub-Zero.
"Well, so much for getting Intel. That was at least five minutes." Roman said.
Some of the villains couldn't help chuckle at the plan failing so quickly.
The good side just sighs
Cyber Sub-Zero: Impossible.
Sektor: The experience has been deleted from your system. Remove your access panel.
As Sektor moves in, Sub-Zero grabs his wrist and palm-strikes him in the chest, sending him careening across the platform.
Sektor: Your programming has been corrupted.
Cyber Sub-Zero: My soul was corrupted. Now it is cleansed.
The good side smile that Sub-Zero was back and is going to fight for his soul.
Sub-Zero starts by shooting an ice ball from his chest. Sektor teleports out of the way. Sektor appears underneath Sub-Zero and uppercuts him from below. As Sub-Zero was in the air. Sektor punch him towards the ground.
As Sub-Zero gets up he uses his ice slide. Throwing Sektor over him. As Sektor flew Sub-Zero grabs his leg and throws him to the floor.
"Come on, You could do it." Ruby shouted.
"Kick his metal ass." Yang shouted.
The other students cheer on as well. The adults watch to see what Sub-Zero could do.
Sektor gets up and opens up his chest and shoots three missiles. Sub-Zero slides under the missiles. As the last one pass over Sub-Zero shoots an ice ball again. Sektor once again teleports.
Sub-Zero was ready this time. He block Sektor's uppercut and kicks him away. Sektor was at a distance and shoots missiles again. Sub-Zero moves out of the way. Only for the missiles to lock on him. Sub-Zero runs towards Sektor. Sektor tries and shoots him with his flamethrower.
"Oh no." Some said.
"Why is he running towards him." Weiss shouted in shock.
As Sub-Zero got closer he slides under the fire and knock Sektor over him as the missiles came and hit Sektor. Sektor flew across the subway stations. He went offline after that.
"Oh I get it. Since the missiles were lock on him. He used that against Sektor." Ruby said.
"But still he could of mess up and got hit and burn." Weiss said.
Sub-Zero would have been a match for Sektor even without his cybernetic upgrades; with them, the match is one-sided and ends quickly.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Artificial enhancements are no substitute for the human soul.
"I think you should listen to him Jimmy." Qrow said.
James was going to retort but stop himself . As much as he would prefer androids. Humans soldiers are just much better.
"I suppose you're right." Ironwood said.
Sub-Zero walks over to Sektor's inert form and access his mainframe. The camera cuts to his POV as he hacks into the system and discovers Sektor's true orders; they are to escort military prisoners from Vogel University to St Dominic's Cemetery for processing, with uncooperative prisoners being expendable. Sub-Zero also finds the path being taken from the station to the university and the cemetery.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Thank you, Sektor.
"What do they need prisoners for?" Ruby asked confused.
"Maybe to execute." Jaune said.
"But they are killing the ones that aren't cooperative." Ren said.
"Oh, well I don't know." Jaune said.
"This can't be good." Qrow said.
The scene cuts to the clock tower of St Dominic's Cemetery. Eight army soldiers are currently being kept prisoner, with Kano, Goro and Kintaro watching over him. Kano takes the opportunity to blast the soldiers with his eye laser, laughing as he does so.
Kano: Oy! Run about, will ya?
"Kano. I'm really starting to get annoyed with him." Yang said as her eyes turned red.
"He's a bully." Ruby said as she cross her arms.
Bully. Now that is too cute. Murderer/Psychopath/Asshole is a much better term. Onyx said.
Cyber Sub-Zero enters the clock tower.
Kano: Finally! C'mon, we gotta get 'em to the graveyard at Saint Dominic's. On yer feet, all of ya!
Cyber Sub-Zero: For what purpose?
Kano: Don't care, really. So long as I get paid.
"Criminal scum, all they care about is money." Winter said with disgust.
"Now why would you say that. Oh who am I kidding your right." Roman said with a laugh.
Kintaro: He said on your feet!
Goro: C'mon, up.
Kintaro: Get up.
Two ice blasts freeze Goro and Kintaro where they stand.
Kano: Hey! What're-
Sub-Zero freezes him with an ice blast as well and then turns to the soldiers.
Everyone was surprised at the power Sub-Zero has.
"That power." Cinder said in awe. She wants that power. Freezing her enemies in a instance
Cyber Sub-Zero: I will help you.
He takes a hold of the chain shackling the soldiers together and freezes it. He punches the frozen chain and it shatters completely, freeing the soldiers. Goro and Kintaro begin breaking free of the ice they are bound in.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Go! All of you! Now!
Soldiers: Let's go! C'mon!
The soldiers make their escape just as Goro and Kintaro break free of the ice.
"Thank Oum they got away." Summer said with a relief.
"It's not over yet. He still has to fight the four-arms guys." Qrow said.
"How is he suppose to fight both of them." Weiss said.
"I know he could do it." Ruby said.
"Guess we are gonna find out." Yang said.
Kintaro: Your treachery will be punished!
Kintaro starts by shooting a fire ball. Sub-Zero shoots an ice ball, destroying the fire. Goro comes charging at Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero jumps over and kicks Goro's head. Goro staggers back as Kintaro comes over and grabs Sub-Zero.
"Oh boy." Tai said.
"Let's see how he gets out of this one." Raven said.
As Kintaro was going to crush Sub-Zero. He opens his chest and shoots Kintaro with an ice beam. Kintaro froze solid, Sub-Zero uppercuts him away. Goro comes from behind with a fist. Sub-Zero use his slide to get away from Goro.
At the distance Sub-Zero turns around and launches three ice bombs. The first one rolls under Goro sending him in the air and lands on the second on. As Goro lands on the last one. Sub-Zero froze him and jumps up, lands on top of Goro. Goro was going to get up but Sub-Zero kicked his head.
"Damn! He kick him into the next world." Sun said.
Blake couldn't help but remember how good it felt kicking Roman out cold like that.
Roman on the other hand. He rub the side of his head from where Blake kicked him. 'Damn Cat Faunas.' He thought to himself.
As the Shokan Prince was unconscious, Kintaro grabs Sub-Zero from behind and throws him on the ground. He then jumps up and lands on top of Sub-Zero. He then grabs Sub-Zero by his legs and throws him across the clock tower floor.
Kintaro then begins charging at Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero jumps up into the air and comes down with a flying kicks. Sub-Zero lands behind Kintaro and forms a huge ice ball and slams it against the back of his head. The screen darken and zooms in showing an x-ray as Sub-Zero crushes Kintaro skull.
Everyone was caught off guard and were surprised to see an X-Ray on screen again.
"Oh Fuck." Mercury said. Seeing the skull get destroy from behind.
"How force did he put in that." Yang said.
"A lot." Raven said. She kinda like how brutal these look.
He pulls his arm back and forms an ice sword and stabs Kintaro from behind, the screen zooms in again, showing an x-ray of Kintaro ribcage cracking. But Sub-Zero miss any important organs. Once that was done the screen return to normal and Sub-Zero flips Kintaro forward.
"OK I don't how anyone could still be alive after that." Jaune said.
The other agree. If that would have happen to any of them. They would be dead from the first hit.
Kintaro was still alive as the sword froze any bleeding. Kintaro falls unconscious after that.
"Holy shit he's still alive." Qrow said.
Well the Shokan are pretty much part dragon. Even though Kintaro is an tiger Shokan he is still part dragon. So he would be fine. Slayer said.
If an Shokan is able to survive that then they would rather not fight one.
Facing both Goro and Kintaro at once would be impossible odds for any normal human, but Sub-Zero was no ordinary human even before he was turned into a cyborg. Nonetheless, the fight is one of the most difficult of his life, but eventually he prevails against the Shokan warriors.
"He is just lucky." Mercury said crossing his arms.
"Your just mad because he is better than you." Yang said with an grin.
"Whatever." Mercury said.
Cyber Sub-Zero: All those teeth and claws, yet still overmatched.
Suddenly, the clock tower starts shaking, causing the bells to ring.
A burst of green light appears near the exit and the soldiers seen before are all telekinetic tossed back into the room.
When they saw the green burst of energy. They already knew who it was.
"Dammit, Ermac is here now." Yang said.
"I don't think we should be worry. He beat both Goro and Kintaro. This should be a walk in the park." Ruby said with a confidence smile.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Behind me!
The soldiers struggle to their feet and comply as Ermac floats into the room.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Come no further, fiend of Outworld!
Sub-Zero starts by using his ice slide. As Sub-Zero gets close, Ermac use his telekinetic and stops Sub-Zero. He then pushes him away, causing Sub-Zero to slide against the floor.
Ermac close the gap and tries to kick and punch Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero dodges the attacks, he then side-sweep Ermac. Sub-Zero creates an ice sword and tries to stab him. Ermac rolls out of the way. Making Sub-Zero miss. Ermac then teleports away.
Sub-Zero looks around as Ermac comes from behind and punches him. When Sub-Zero turns back around, he shoots an ice ball and freezes Ermac in place. He comes over and grabs him. Freeze him again and goes behind and kicks Ermac.
Ermac gets up but gets launch into the air from Sub-Zero's bomb. Sub-Zero slides under Ermac and uppercuts him. As Ermac tries to get back up, Sub-Zero comes from behind and stomps on Ermac back. The telekinetic user goes unconscious.
"See we had nothing to worry about." Ruby said with a smile.
Cinder and a few others rolled their eyes.
Not even Shao Kahn's personal enforcer is a match for Cyber Sub-Zero, and the red garbed ninja is defeated by the cyborg.
Cyber Sub-Zero: You are not so fearsome.
"Yeah, he isn't so scary." Nora said.
"Nora, we saw him blow Jax's arms off." Ren said.
"But still we could take him." She said.
Ren just sighs. While Jaune and Pyrrha laughs at their teammates.
With Ermac down, the soldiers surround and congratulate Sub-Zero.
Soldier 1: Thanks. I thought we were done.
Cyber Sub-Zero: I must go. I need to investigate the graveyard.
Soldier 2: We'd go with, but we have to return to our unit.
Cyber Sub-Zero: That is for the best.
"Yes that would be for the best. They would just end up getting caught in the crossfire." Ironwood said.
"Pretty sure they can't do anything against people that use magic." Qrow said.
The cyborg leaves immediately.
Soldier 1: Good luck, man.
Soldier 2: He ain't gonna need luck.
"More like a miracle." Ozpin said.
The others heard him and would agreed.
In the cemetery, Noob Saibot is magically drawing two lines across the ground, creating a ring around another captured group of soldiers. Quan Chi is nearby, chanting a spell in the Netherrealm tongue. Cyber Sub-Zero is kneeling by a gravestone, undetected by either of them. The soldiers surrounded by the ring begin to glow green with the rising energy around them. Sub-Zero speaks into a wrist-communicator.
Cyber Sub-Zero: This is Sub-Zero. I have encountered Quan Chi. He seems to be casting a spell.
"What is he planing for those Soldiers." Ironwood said. His hands were in fist. Even though they are not his soldiers. They are still soldiers to him.
"Wonder what spell he is going to use." Salem said with curiously.
Back at the temple, Sonya has her wrist-comm on speaker for the Forces of Light to listen in. Raiden receives another vision - this one of the Soulnado engulfing New York City.
Everyone eyes widen when they saw that. Even Salem had a look of surprised.
"Wh- what was that?" Ruby said
"It- it cover the whole city." Ironwood said in shock.
"All of those people are going to die." Jaune said in angry.
"What was that spell he is using?" Ozpin asked. He never seen anything like that before. Salem wanted to know the spell as well.
That is known as a Soulnado. Quan Chi needs a few souls that could be used as sacrifices. Only then would the ritual work. And once it is active, depending on the scale of it, makes it even stronger. It would take all the souls of Earthrealm. Shao Kahn wants enough souls for him to get more power. Slayer said.
No one could say anything. Quan Chi is doing something none of them could think of.
"All the Souls of Earthrealm gone." Ozpin said. He doesn't believe what he heard.
Everyone wonders what is going to happen now.
Nightwolf: Raiden, what is it? What did you see?
Raiden: One of Shao Kahn's Soulnados, on a scale I thought unimaginable. All of Earthrealm's souls imprisoned, absorbed by Shao Kahn, multiplying his power!
Nightwolf: That is what Sub-Zero has found?
Raiden looks his amulet. More cracks and a burnt signature adorn it.
Raiden: No matter my efforts, the future remains in peril. How could I have failed Earthrealm?
"By this point I would have give up." Raven said.
Some of the good side turned to her.
"Why would you say that." Yang said with her eyes turning red.
"He right no matter what he does, it doesn't change anything." Raven said.
"But you can't just give when everything is going to be destroyed." Yang shouted back.
"It should be easy for you, because give up all the time." Yang continue.
Should we stop them. Onyx whisper to Slayer. Slayer put his hand up to him.
"Yang!" Tai said. "just drop it." He said.
"No after everything she has done." Yang said.
Look I want this to stop right now. There is no need for this. Slayer said.
"But-" Yang was cut off by Onyx.
Well to be fair, your mother is right. They should just give up. Onyx said with a grin.
"SHE WHAT!?" Some of them shouted. "I am?" Raven said confused.
Yep, they should just give up. The timeline is pretty much the same. Just small differences here and there. Onyx said.
"After everything they have done. You want them to give up." Jaune said as he was getting angry from what Onyx is saying.
Yep, might as well right. No need to lose anymore lives. And everyone would feel better. Onyx said.
"No they can't give up. They have each other and they could win, I know they can." Ruby said.
We shall see little rose. We shall see. Onyx said as he laughs.
No one liked the way Onyx said that.
Nightwolf: Do not lose faith in the spirits, Raiden. They will guide you. Protect you. Sub-Zero, we will disrupt the Soulnado. I will be there momentarily.
The scene cuts back to the cemetery.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Hurry. The spell appears to be nearly complete.
The good were praying that Nightwolf gets there in time. While the villains wonder if Quan Chi would complete it.
Sub-Zero stands from his hiding place and walks into the clearing.
Quan Chi: Who is that?
Noob: The one Kano warned about. He is mine.
Noob walks toward Sub-Zero.
Noob: You. You are not worthy of the name Sub-Zero.
"Who the hell does he think he is talking to?" Yang said.
"Oh he is going to get his ass handed to him." Sun said.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Who are you to judge?
Noob: I wore those colors before you.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Bi-Han?!
Noob: Yes, Kuai Liang. It is I. Quan Chi restored me.
Onyx begins counting down from 3, 2, 1
"THAT'S SUB-ZERO!" Almost everyone should.
Yep isn't it great. Pretty badass, I say. Onyx said.
"But he is a good guy." Ruby said with a sad tone.
"No wonder he seemed so familiar. He was the first Sub-Zero." Blake said. She tried to figure out who he was.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Restored? You and I both. We are flawed copies of our former selves.
Noob: I have no flaws. Quan Chi has perfected me.
"That not right. Quan Chi has to have him in a spell." Ruby said. She refuse to believe this is what Sub-Zero becomes.
You would be right. But with being resurrected by Quan Chi you begin to show your true self. This is what the real Sub-Zero is. A cold-heated assassin. Slayer said.
That made everyone on the good side disappointed. While the villains side couldn't help but smile.
Cyber Sub-Zero: For what end? To serve the Netherrealm and Outworld?
Noob: It suits my purpose.
Cyber Sub-Zero: But brother, we-
Noob: We share blood. We are not brothers.
Cyber Sub-Zero: Then I will not regret your defeat.
Everyone with siblings could only look sad at the screen.
Yang doesn't know if she could fight Ruby. And Ruby was in the same.
Weiss didn't want to think about fight with her sister and brother. Even though her brother is someone she dislikes. She doesn't hate him as much as she wants too. They are still family.
Jaune couldn't imagine fighting with his sisters. Yeah they could be annoying, but he would still love them and protect them.
Qrow would she he doesn't regret fighting Raven. But after finding out the true with Ozpin. He is just to stubborn to admit it.
Both fighter charges towards each other. As Sub-Zero tries to hit Noob. He dodges and punch Sub-Zero in the face. He begins punching his body and summons Saibot to begin attacking as well.
Noob and his Shadow punch at the same time sending Sub-Zero to the ground. Noob comes over and picks up the cyborg. As Noob turns him over, he was shot in the face with ice. As he froze Sub-Zero uppercuts him.
While in mid-air, Noob teleports and comes up from underneath Sub-Zero. He then opens up another portal and goes though multiple times before slamming Sub-Zero on the ground. Sub-Zero gets up and runs towards his brother. As Noob did the same with Saibot by his side.
No one knew what to think about what is happening. Both siblings were trying to kill each other.
The thing is there is not trick or lies that is causing both to fight. They are doing this all on their own.
Sub-Zero summons an ice swords and tries to stab Noob. Saibot jumps in front of the sword and dissipate. Noob's fist comes though and hits Sub-Zero in the face. As Sub-Zero staggers back, Noob grabs him, he then opens up a portal and throws Sub-Zero inside.
They heard punches under ground. As Noob stands there laughing. Before a portal opens up and Sub-Zero pops out.
"Did he throw him into a pocket dimension or some thing." Mercury said.
"It would seem that way." Cinder said. She is interested in the power that Noob has.
Sub-Zero turns and slides to close the distance. He then shoots an ice beam from his chest and freezes Noob solid. He comes over and grabs him, freeze him again. And then uppercuts him away.
Ruby just wants this to be over. She doesn't like the idea of siblings fighting like this.
She wasn't the only. All of the good side wants this to end too.
Saibot appears in front of Noob but Sub-Zero kicks him away. As Noob was getting up Sub-Zero comes over, he picks Noob from the ground. Freeze again and goes behind and kicks him. Noob slide across the floor.
Bi-Han may have had power granted to him from the Netherrealm upon his death, but Kuai Liang's cybernetic upgrades prove to be superior in battle. After a fierce battle, Kuai Liang manages to defeat his brother and leave him unconscious.
Cyber Sub-Zero: You are right. We are not brothers.
"It's finally over." Summer said. "Although it makes me upset that Kuai Liang and Bi-Han are on different sides." She said with a sad tone.
"Well it looks like Bi-Han made his choice." Qrow said. He was thinking of what happen back at Haven with Raven.
"Now all they have to do is stop the Soulnado." Ruby said. But as she said that the screen looked like it was shaking.
Quan Chi finishes chanting the spell and the soldiers are absorbed in the newly created Soulnado, which reaches into the heavens. Thousands upon thousand s of souls were shot into the sky.
The sky started to have souls flying from different directions and into the Soulnado. As it begin to takes souls from Earthrealm.
The screen fade to black. The lights turned on.
"They're too late." Jaune said with his head down. He clutch his fist in angry.
"All those souls." Ozpin said in shock. He knew it was going to be big but not like that.
"All those people are going to die." Summer said.
Ok so that was. We are going to let all of you have a few minutes. Slayer said as both him and Onyx left.
And done. Sorry for posting a little late.
Anyways, I was thinking of something and I wonder what you guys think.
I was thinking about doing Nightwolf and Raiden Chapters together rather then separate in their own chapters. I want to do a big final with both chapters. I was thinking it would be fun.
If not, I would just do with what I'm doing.
