Hey there. Yes, this is an update! I'm just as stunned as you are. Sorry that it's taken forever. Inspiration strikes at the oddest times. (Oh, "such a much" is something my grandmother used to say to me when I was little when I was being silly.)
I hope whoever is still reading this enjoys this and that it's not terrible.
Disclaimer: I do not own Supergirl or any of its characters.
Chapter 16
Wow, that was not the reaction Alex and I were aiming for. We were expecting something a tad more, shall we say, subtle, like a sigh, not a strip show. Ha! Then again, Alex didn't explain to her how the spray was supposed to be administered and given her fragile state, I shouldn't have said that I was dying for her to try it. I should've known Kara would overreact. Well, you live and you learn.
** Twenty-four hours later, still in Alex's apartment. **
"Hmmm…."
"I'll second that hmmm…"
For the first time since spraying herself with the synthetic version of Cat's scent, Kara is coming down from her high and looks around.
"Oh no. No, no, no. This is not good!"
Cat's eyes slowly begin to focus as she glances upon the room as reality sets in.
"Oh my. You're right, this isn't good."
Kara blushes.
"Alex is going to kill me, isn't she?"
Cat nods.
"I'm just as much to blame as you are, dear."
"How much do you think can be salvaged before she comes back?"
"Salvaged? Oh, sweetheart. We've destroyed her furniture and broke her bed. She's going to have to move."
Kara's eyes widen.
"Gosh. Well, do you think we, or I, could straighten it up some before she gets back?"
Cat, already on her phone, chuckles.
"Sure. Good luck with that."
"Well, what are you doing to help?"
Cat gives her a side eye.
"What am I doing? I am online trying to find your sister replacement furniture and a cleaning crew. That's what I'm doing."
Kara's stomach growls.
"And I'm also ordering food so that monster in your stomach stops yelling."
Kara laughs just as she hears the keys rattling in the hallway, getting ready to unlock the door.
"I really hope that's the food already and not ALEX! Hey there, sis! How've you been?"
Alex, eyes covered, enters the room with a gasping Maggie by her side.
"Holy…wow."
"What!? Are they still naked?"
Maggie burst out laughing as Alex tries to run away but instead runs into the wall.
"No, Al. They're clothed, but I don't think you want to open your eyes just yet."
Alex huffs as she unveils her eyes and takes a good look around, nearly fainting.
"Don't worry, Alexandra. I have a cleaning crew on the way along with new furniture."
Alex, speechless, lets out a little whimper.
"What h-happened? H-how? Wait. Don't want to know. Dear God! How?"
"Thought you didn't want to know?"
Alex shoots Kara a look that could kill, causing her to shrivel up and hide behind Cat.
"Sorry."
"Sorry? Sorry!? You destroyed my apartment having sex! Sex! In my apartment! I can't live here anymore. Mag's, I'm moving in."
Now it's Maggie's turn to almost faint.
"W-What?"
"Oh Alexandra, stop with the dramatics. It's just furniture. You can stay with us until this place is scrubbed and bleached to your standards."
Everyone, except Alex, laughs.
"Where's that spray? I need to destroy it."
Both Kara and Cat yell.
"What?"
"Yeah. I need to flush it down the toilet. Wait, is it safe to go in there?"
Kara, almost in tears, rushes over to her.
"Why would you do that? You both worked so hard on it and apparently it works."
"Alex, she panicked. She didn't know she wasn't supposed to spray it everywhere. It was an honest mistake."
Alex takes some deeps breaths and rubs her head.
"Fine. Just…fine. I want everything back the way it was before you two screwed it up, literally."
Cat laughs.
"I told you. I'm already getting you new furniture and no, as much as I'd like to upgrade it for you, I'm not. I'm getting you as close to what you had as possible. It is a tad hard since I think they discontinued this color grey back in the sixties."
Maggie stifles a laugh as she gives Alex a squeeze.
"Al, you can stay with me. It's fine."
Alex blushes.
"I don't want to impose and I'm not sure we're ready for me to stay there, or you here, more than a night or two. No offense."
"None taken. I get it."
"Great, now that that's all figured out, this one need food."
Kara blushes hard as her stomach growls again but louder.
"Sorry. Not sure when I ate last."
Maggie quickly covers Alex's mouth before she can say anything.
"Nice save there, detective."
"Anytime."
After some tiding and some dinner, Cat and Kara leave for their home.
"Alex, I'm really, really sorry. I will make this up to you, I promise."
Alex gives her a hug.
"It's okay. I should've realized that may happen. And don't worry, I'm not going to flush Cat's scent away. However, I may make it less potent."
Kara smiles.
"Thanks. It was so wonderful of you to have made it for me in the first place."
"Yeah, yeah. Now get out of here before you two start up again and Maggie and I need a brain bleach."
Cat and Kara laugh, waving as the walk down the hall to the elevator.
"Hey Al, it's going to be alright. They didn't do that much damage and oh my goodness, they cracked the tub!"
Alex shakes her head as Maggie stands there stunned.
"Yeah, Kara did that before Cat got here. Don't ask."
Maggie nods.
"Oh, but I have so many questions."
Back home, Kara corners Cat in the kitchen while she's making some tea and kisses her.
"Mmmm….Haven't you had enough yet?"
Giggling, Kara just smiles.
"I just couldn't resist. I didn't get to properly thank you for recreating your scent for me. That was beyond thoughtful and generous. I love you so much."
"I love you, too, sweetheart. Though you know, we still didn't get our situation figured out. I have to leave in a couple days to go to D.C. for a week and you need to be here."
Kara's smile turns into a pout.
"Yeah, I know. I think I can handle it. Having your scent helps, though having you here emitting your scent naturally is even better. I'm going to be strong and try to focus on work or Supergirl duties."
Cat caresses her cheek.
"I have all the faith in the world that you will be okay. And if you feel the need to, um, fly to me, well, I won't complain as long as you don't drive the secret service berserk."
They both laugh.
"I promise to have the DEO give them a head's up if I go rogue."
"Good idea. Kara, we'll be okay, I promise."
Kara hugs her then take their mugs into the other room.
"So, what should we watch?"
"Whatever you'd like. I'm just going to watch you."
Cat rolls her eyes.
"You're such a much."
"Yes. Yes I am."
