Was life always this hard? Do people always have to make the choice between love and family or was it just in the stories that she read? Little Lucy looked over at her mother in the mirror brushing her hair. Her mother's life wasn't hard. Maybe it was just the stories. Lucy got up and walked up to her mother sitting in front of her vanity. Lucy tugged on her mother's dress.
Layla looked down at her daughter and smiled, this was her world. Lucy Heartfilia was the key to the to Laylas heart. Layla picked Lucy up and swung her and landed her on her lap. Lucy smiled up at her mother and laid her head against her mother's chest. She loved her mother. Her Momma could do anything in the world. Lucy looked at herself in her mother's mirror. She was like her momma. Long golden hair, bright brown eyes, an angled face and big eyes. She loved that she looked like her mother.
Layla rested her head on Lucy's little on. She was the cutest child she had ever seen, and she wasn't biased.
"What do you want to do today Lucy?"
Lucy hummed and then jumped down.
"Momma show me how to summon Capricorn!"
Layla laughed at her eager daughter, she was always a handful.
"Okay but first let's warm up."
Everything was fuzzy and warm. It felt like she was back curled up with her mother after a long day of training. She snuggled up to the person who was carrying her. Wrapping her arms around their neck and feeling something warm and soft around their neck. She let out a small sigh. She missed this with her mother.
Natsu Dragneel felt a warmth spread through his chest while he was carrying the past out girl. He was bringing her into the guild to Wendy to help her. She was starting to wake up or at least that was what he thought before she wrapped her arms around his neck and started to snuggle with him.
He wasn't stupid, he knew that the girl in his arms was gorgeous and smart. He knew that he was starting to really care for her. She saved his best friend's life. Lisanna wouldn't be here if it weren't for this amazing girl. He knew that Lisanna loved him. He loved her too just not the way she wanted him to. He told her that before but she still loved him. He would give up so much to make her happy because she gave her everything to him. He just couldn't love her the was she wanted. He looked down at the sleeping girl and felt his heart hurt. She was something else. Her blond hair and big brown eyes captured him. He wouldn't try to force anything but in this small moment it just felt right.
Walking into the guild his eyes met Lisanna. She saw the tender look on his face when he looked at the blond girl in his arms. He use to look at her like that when they were kids. She yearned for that look for years.
She died a little on the inside seeing that look on his face not aimed at her. She loved him. She loved him so much it hurt. She would never stand in his way if he was happy with the girl that saved her. She was really starting to feel a sisterly bond towards the blond. She knew Lucy was amazing and deserve someone like Natsu. She just wished that he would love her more than a friend. Her heart hurt and her eyes stung with salty tears. She wasn't suppose to be hurt! She had known that he would find someone else so why did it hurt so much! Mirajane put a hand on her shoulder. Lisanna took a deep breath and calmed down her raging emotions. She was going to be okay.
Today was not going to be her day, she could tell.
"Natsuuuu~" Even she seemed whiney to herself, Lisanna thought.
Natsu's head shot up at her voice and he let out a blazing smile towards her. Jogging up to her he clasped her shoulder.
"What's up Lisanna?"
She bit her tongue and smiled back at him.
"What happened to Lucy?"
Natsu looked back down at the girl who was still holding on to him. His heart did a slight stutters. He had a slight blush forming on his cheeks.
"She passed out when she let out a burst of magic. Something is going on with Leo, so we wanted to talk to Master before we leave to check on the dragon situation."
Lisanna nodded and grabbed Natsu's hand her heart leaping into her chest as she did.
"Follow me then."
Erza watched the two talk with Lucy still hanging on Natsu. She wasn't stupid everyone knew the Lisanna loves Natsu, she also knew that Natsu always thought of her more as a sister or bestfriend. Not a lover. She looked over at Gray and he shook his head indicating not to get involved. Erza let out a small sigh as she followed Lisanna and Natsu into the Master's office.
Makarov watched as the young wizards entered his private room. What was going on now? It was always one thing or another with the youngster these days.
Natsu agusted Lucy and she her in a chair. He shook her slightly to hopefully wake her. Lucy slowly started to come to and her mind started to clear. What was going on?
Master Makarov looked down at the girl as he stood on his desk. She looked fine as far as he could tell.
"Where am I?" Lucy wondered aloud as she straightened her back. She looked around at her teammates and Master. The room was small with a single desk and two soft recliner looking chairs in front of it. One of which she was sitting on. The desk had one picture with the Master and Laxus as a child. The Master watched as the girl looked up to him.
"You are in my office. I am still unsure why."
"Leo said something about his key being broken? We wanted to know if there was something we could do to help Lucy and her spirit." Erza explained.
"If it is the Kings will there is nothing any of us can do. The King has the final say in all things that go on in his world. We have no standing with him."
"BUT MASTER! Sur-"
"ENOUGH! There is nothing that can be done. I'm sorry Lucy. "
Lucy had tears shining in her eyes but nodded her head. She knew that. She knew that she might not be able to save him but maybe one of the other spirits could. She quickly stood up and started marching out of the guild.
"OPEN GATE OF THE GOAT! CAPRICORN!" Her voice was sharp and clear as she yelled.
Capricorn was quickly out of his gate and bowed to the determined princess.
"Take me to your King." Lucy's voice snapped out.
Capricorn reached out his hand and his body started to glow. He knew this day would come. "Okay."
Lucy's body started to glow and disappear.
"WAIT LUCY!"
Natsu's voice rang out as he ran to her and caught her wrist. He started to disappear with them. In a flash Lucy, Capricorn and Natsu were gone.
"NATSU!"
Lisanna held a hand over her mouth as she watched the area flash with gold and magic swirled around the abandoned did Natsu go with her? Why was she left alone without him again?! Erza tisked and grabbed a hold of Gray and with a sharp voice said;
"Let's start finding a way to get there."
Lucy felt her magic beginning to drain as she was whisked away and then someone grabbed her and suddenly her magic was sapped away. She let out a whimper as she fell down into some streets. She stood up and suddenly Natsu was standing there holding onto her wrist.
"Natsu?!"
Natsu felt like his body was being torn apart and put back together. What the hell was that?! He looked around where he suddenly was and it was sure something. The sky was made of stars and wispy magic particles. Everything and everyone radiated magic and life. This was so different from Earthland. He felt weightless and free everything moved around his body and he waved a hair though the air and it just floated though.
Looking down he realized he still had Lucy in his other hand. He quickly pulled her closer and stared down at her.
Lucy stuttered as Natsu pulled her to him. What was he doing?! Her face started to flush and she slowly started to lean closer to his face as he studied her.
With one quick motion he threw her into the air.
"NATSU!"
Natsu caught her as she started to slowly float back down. So everything really was weightless. He swung Lucy around so she was on his back and he held her legs around him. This wasn't so bad. He could at least carry her easily this way.
Lucy quickly wrapped her arms around his neck to keep from falling off. Curse him. Why did he throw her in the air?! She wasn't some kind of rag doll! Still, she liked where she ended up. Putting her head in his scarf she looked over his shoulder and saw Capricorn.
"Alright. Take us to your King!"
Hope you enjoy this chapter. Next MY KING?!
