Host Privellege

A really short one today. I only just wore it but I really, really like it and wanted to share. Whad'ya think of my latest version of /Gamer fic?

Jaune sighed at the destruction around him, all these lives lost and he knew of at least one more on her way to meet it. All he'd wanted was to be a hero, the proper way. The world obviously didn't like that idea, or maybe this was the normal progression and he was just supposed to go along with it. If he were a normal guy then he'd be powerless. If he were a normal Gamer, he'd be slightly less so.

But he wasn't normal, he just wanted to be. So he refused his true powers, he'd gain power the same as any normal person, the same as a normal Gamer.

Despite his life having become a video game, this was still his world. So he did what no Arc would ever do and broke his promise.

"Host Privileges" he intoned "remove_character-models(Grimm).Location-Vale"

With nary a flash of light or roaring death knell the Grimm, every single one, within Vale disappeared. They didn't die, nor were they killed. They were completely wiped from existence.

"Teleport-Player(Jaune_Arc). Location-NPC(Pyrrha_Nikos)"

In the same manner, Jaune was at his location. Stood before his partner and deflecting an arrow to her heart with but a single command. No, not deflecting. He just deleted it. Gazing angrily towards the enemy, one Cinder Fall, he ignored her snide remarks. Despite all this, he'd not come with the intention of fighting or killing her.

"Leave. Please, I don't want to kill you"

The woman laughed, yet another smug insult. She paused when he spoke again, completely ignoring her.

"Fine. Remove-NPC(Cinder_Fall)"

Cinder ceased to exist, the Grimm ceased to exist, and Jaune collapsed.

Host privileges weren't meant for him, a glitch in whatever system that turned him into a gamer. He could access the very code of the world, but no matter how small the changes he made- they cost to him was staggering. Honestly, if it wasn't for his friends he might well have let this play out, but a decrease to his lifespan and intense physical pain was a fine cost to keep them alive. Safety in their profession was low, so it wasn't like he'd step in for everything, but certain death for at least one person he had formed a connection too was something he couldnt stand.

"Player has activated Host mode, saving has become impossible"

Oh, and by doing it to such a level, even after the system warning, it meant he could no longer reload. From now on, if he died then he'd stay dead.

"Host mode has entered cool down. Time remaining to next activation-7 months 3 days-9 hours."

Jaune passed out.
