Alex laughed, watching Elena's face light up at the joy in her son's voice.

"Any updates on the whole Abel situation? I'm gettin' worried sick over here, Hap." Alex mumbled, settling deeper into the swing.

"We got a few leads, but the kid still ain't in Jax's hands. Found out he's been adopted out" Happy grumbles, causing Alex to sigh again.

"You better bring that baby boy home cause our gremlin needs some friends, and I can't get any sleep without you." Alex laughs, trying to lighten Happy's forever grumpy mood. She managed to get a small chuckle out of him in response.

"I promise, little girl. Even if I have to torture every fuckin' Irish bastard I come across so we can leave sooner" Happy mumbled, causing Alex to giggle.

"You'll enjoy that too much, you sadist." Alex teased, "You're always looking for an excuse to get your tool kit out"

"I'm hopin' I get the chance to soon. I had to watch someone else have all the fun the other day" Happy grumbled, disdain clear in his voice.

"Don't worry, Hap. You'll have plenty of chances when you come home with all the shit happenin' in Charming with Hale" Alex muttered, peeking into the window to see Elena settled in her large chair watching a telenovela.

Happy grunted, "When I get home, it'll be right back to the same old bullshit"

"No, when you get home it'll only be a short time before we hit up the hospital and come home with a fuckin' baby" Alex muttered grumpily causing Happy to chuckle.

"C'mon you can't tell me you're not excited"

"Yeah, excited to finally have this fuckin' baby out of me. God, I can't wait until I can see my feet again" Alex smiled.

Once Alex was off the phone with Happy, her cell immediately began ringing again.

"What do you want, Herm? I've barely been gone seven hours" Alex sighed.

"When was the last time you saw Tara?" The panic in his voice was evident, putting Alex on edge.

"Few days ago at the hospital, but haven't heard from her since"

"Fuck" and then the phone went silent.

What the fuck? Alex muttered to herself before making her way inside to join Elena in watching her telenovela. Whatever was happening in Charming could stay in Charming, Alex wasn't going to let it ruin her time in Bakersfield.

It had been a week and a half and Happy was set to return the next day. Alex wasn't expecting some grand reunion since her last phone call from Kozik the day before. He had given her the news of everything going down in Charming, with Salazar and Tara's kidnapping. Alex was angry and scared for Tara but knew that she was safer in Bakersfield. The last thing SAMCRO needed was to have to deal with watching a woman who was eight and a half months pregnant, especially if they had to face the wrath of Happy and Kozik if Alex got hurt.

Her time in Bakersfield with Elena was pleasant. Happy's Aunt Theresa had spent a lot of time with them, and Alex was enjoying the stories of Happy's youth. Currently, she was sitting in the living room with the two elderly women, perusing photo albums that Theresa had brought over.

Theresa pointed at a typical bathtub photo, a giggling 2 year old Happy buried in a sea of bubbles. The bubble beard barely hid the bright white smile that Alex knew so well, and his big brown eyes were twinkling with joy.

"He was always smiling, our Happy. He was such a happy kid." Theresa grinned at Alex, flipping the page of the photo album.

"Not until high school. That's when he met the boys who introduced him to drinking, drugs, and motorcycles" Elena smiled, "But underneath all of that, he's still my Happy. He just doesn't let the club see it"

Alex sighed, "Trust me, Ma. I know. I feel so lucky to be able to know him and see the man he is at home." Then Alex giggled, almost conspiratorially "I even get him doing house chores sometimes. There's nothing better than coming home from work to dinner ready on the stove and clean dishes"

"That's because Theresa yelled at him one time for six hours about taking care of the house! We came home from a weekend away and every single dish in the house was dirty!" Elena laughed, eyes glazing over as she evidently recalled the memory.

Alex grabbed each of the women's hands in one of her own, "I am so grateful for your boy. He's the best thing to ever happen to me"

"No, Alexandria, you are the best thing to happen to him" Elena smiled softly, pressing a tender kiss to the back of Alex's hand.

The next morning, Alex woke up to her phone ringing on her bedside table.

"Today is the day, Alex! Are you driving up to meet them at the hangar with us?" Kozik's bright voice could be heard over the phone. Alex lit up at his words.

"Of course! I should get going soon if I wanna be there in time" Alex smiled, she was finally getting to see Happy again!

"Okay, see you soon then Ally"

"See you soon, Herm. You better bring Grumpy to that Hangar, I swear to god!" Alex laughed, she really did miss her dog.

About 4 hours later, Oswalds Hangar

Alex pulled up and parked next to the SAMCRO van and small line of bikes. The drive had been easy, but Alex was feeling contractions. They came in very long intervals, so she passed them off as Braxton-Hicks. She still had about two weeks until her due date. The men were set to arrive any minute now and Alex couldn't be more excited. Sure, she was used to Happy being gone on runs and the entire first two and a half years of their relationship he had been either SAMTAC or NOMAD. Kozik just laughed and pressed his lips to the top of Alex's black hair. Alex watched nervously as the rest of SAMCRO exited the plane. She rushed over as quick as she could, excited to see the little baby safe and in familiar arms.

"Oh, Jackson! I'm so glad you got him back!" Alex exclaimed, tears filling her eyes. "I missed you guys"

"Well, you can't have missed him any more than me, Mama" Gemma grinned at Alex tapping on her shoulder, her arms open for a hug. Alex smiled and launched herself into the woman's arms.

"You're not allowed to leave me for that long again, Gem. I almost lost my mind trying to run the garage with Tig and Kozik at each other's throats all the time!" Alex whined, she really had missed the woman. Her company in the office was enjoyable, and Alex enjoyed her 'take no shit' attitude that was envious. Alex heard a throat clearing behind her, the sound sending a shiver down her spine.

"I'm sorry to cut this short, Gem, but my old man is standing behind me and I can't wait any longer to jump his bones" Alex stage whispered, causing the surrounding people to erupt in laughter.

Alex peeled away from her embrace with the other woman, launching herself at Happy. He caught her easily, a chuckle escaping his chest. Her legs immediately wrapping around his waist as she peppered kisses around his face.

"I don't think I can make it home, Hap," Alex winked at him, "We might just have to do it in the backseat"

"Not with the fuckin' dog here. Remember last time?" Happy groaned, starting the car easily. He gripped Alex's thigh, pinching her inner thigh as she smirked at him.
