Chapter 20
Later, the sight of one has turned green. Sounds of stirring a spoon in a cup is annoyingly heard inside a warm room of two. The prince is tucked in his bed. His back and head ache so much that he could not move. He realizes where he is, so he tries to get up, but the arm of his mother pushed him to lie down on his bed.
"I have to find…" Prince Peasley muttered.
But Queen Bean, the queen of the kingdom and the mother of the prince, instructs her son, "Your back has been knocked against a wall in the southeastern area of the fields."
"It is no obstruction to my quest," the prince insisted as he tries to raise himself up with his elbows.
The queen says to her son, "Your quest has insulted the way of the Beanish. The troops who were there have overheard your so-called racial superiority to that girl from Joke's End. The Clumphs are merely primitives, but the girl has evolved to another branch besides our Beanish civilization. So, she is one of our cousin species created by these so-called snow witches."
"The girl," the prince tells his mother, "is the key to awakening the Beanstar."
Queen Bean angrily pounds the wall of their royal bedroom with her fist and asks the stubborn prince, "What do you want to with the Beanstar? Help our people? Do you think they would be grateful when they found out how you helped them?"
Prince Peasley gritted his teeth and voiced out his argument, "There is no time for gratefulness, the lives of our people are in danger…"
"Not when you are around," the queen argued back, "they would if you're not."
"No," the prince arguably denied, "the Beanstar is our last hope for peace, it is why it exists."
Their argument continues with Queen Bean replying to Prince Peasley, and then he to her, so on and so forth.
"It exists because we, the Beanish, should become pure in dedication to the Beanstar's existence. We do not need its power to help us, for we help ourselves."
"We continue believing that, our meaningless hope would deplete to the point this kingdom deserves a ruthless monarch."
"That would be you! You think of yourself as the strongest, but without heart, unlike your grandfather or the previous rulers who sat on the throne of this castle."
"The girl insulted my title as well as yours. The throne never mattered to anybody outside of our town border. Not in Joke's End…"
"They have their worlds and we have ours within the borders of our town and castle."
"So, what? We are only queen and prince of Bean-bean Kingdom by name? Those superior titles should apply to every land in our kingdom! What an embarrassment it would take when the outsiders laugh at us, wouldn't it? We follow such a foolish culture for the Beanstar when we should awaken it. That would show what we are, queen mother! An achievement. An unforgettable achievement."
"If that matters to you so much, then you are not helping our people!"
"What declares that I'm not doing my life's task to help our people? You only sit on your throne, creating speeches that did not help our people one bit!"
"Why don't you take a walk outside, prince of the Beanish? Go to town! See and learn how your people are supposed to live!"
Prince Peasley stood up on his legs, wobbling a bit in pain, but his stubbornness allowed him to walk. He picked up a cup filled with Hoolumbian which his mother prepared earlier as treatment. The prince took a sip of it and took it outside. As he struggles to walk down the hall, he went right and passed through two passages to enter the throne room.
There, the prince looked around. Nobody is around, so the prince, in his hand holding a half-filled cup of Hoolumbian, hurled the cup at his mother's throne as the cup shatters into pieces and his drink spills on the throne.
Lady Lima quickly entered the throne room as soon as she heard the commotion. She appears shocked to see the throne soaked in the light brown Hoolumbian.
The Goodwill Ambassador proceeds to question the prince, "Have you done this, Prince Peasley? This is no way to display your return. Oh, no, no!"
"I don't care," the prince replied, "I lost the girl who could awaken the Beanstar. All the lessons you gave me resulted to this shame."
Lady Lima sighs and tells the prince, "I failed you. I should take my part of the blame," and then, she inquired from the prince, "But please tell me, who is the suspect of awakening the Beanstar? Surely, if not you, somebody else could find her. You say it is a girl?"
"Not just a girl," Prince Peasley answered, "a Joke's End snow witch so beautiful that… she looked so pure."
"Snow witch from Joke's End?" Lady Lima validated. She turns around, facing away from the prince to think to herself, "The chilling powers of the snow witches are enhanced in Joke's End. That girl must be led away from Joke's End, so I could fight her here, where I can gain the upper hand," so Lady Lima, or so she appears, proceeds to ask the prince, "Where is this snow witch?"
Prince Peasley scratched the back of his head and answered, "I lost her. She must have returned to Joke's End… or somewhere else. I lost my ways to find her. The winged board gifted to me has gone missing after the Squidroid attacked us in Oho Ocean."
Lady Lima noted to the prince, "The Squidroids are created by the Woohoo Hooniversity to cleanse the ocean's waters from land-dwelling filth."
"Those Woohoo Hooniversity twits," the prince expresses his grudge towards the aforementioned academy, "they always get in my way of progress. Inform them that their environmental deeds are halted until my say-so."
"Yes, your majesty," Lady Lima complied, but before she sends the word, she asks the prince, "before I head to Woohoo Hooniversity to carry out your command, what will do you now?"
The prince scoffs and answers in a disbelieving tone, "Queen mother has asked me to learn the ways of our people, to learn about their purity and their disgusting emotions."
"Believe it or not," Lady Lima encouraged him, "it's worth to taste their disgusting emotions. It will sweeten once you get to know your people."
The prince sighs, still in disbelief, but he thanks the Goodwill Ambassador for her words, "Thank you. You've been a good help to me whenever we're together."
Lady Lima smiles in response as she leaves the throne room. Behind her back, her smile turns to a grin while she leaves for Woohoo Hooniversity. Prince Peasley quickly dashed to exit the throne room, passing by Lady Lima and leaves the castle.
For a moment, the prince's back ached and he dropped on his face against the ground. He grumbled angrily and got up on his arms. He takes a few breaths until his heart beats normally and calmly. Prince Peasley proceeds to run towards the town of the Beanish in front of the castle.
"I shouldn't be noticed," the prince thought and stopped behind the planted bushes by the entrance to the town from the castle, "I must wear a disguise."
Meanwhile, Lady Lima went to the west side outside the castle. She is suddenly engulfed by purple smoke. As they clear up, green ugly bats with purple ears and black wings flew off to the sky. Their eyes glow purple to summon little black holes and enter through them.
In another place, the same little black holes opened up and out came the weird-looking bats. The bats converged on the ground as they become purple smoke. The smoke clears up to reveal Lady Lima, who proceeds to look at an academy with many gray buildings that have red roofs on top. The main building has a grinning face painted on the wall facing at the main entrance of the academy, which is on an island floating above the lake water.
Lady Lima nods in impression towards the academy and acknowledges its name in thought, "So, this is Woohoo Hooniversity. I hope they have delicious tech that I need for my bidding."
She proceeds to climb up the stairs to enter through the main entrance of the academy.
She arrives in the corridor, where it leads to a north path towards the main hall. Inside the corridor, there are Beanish in white lab coats talking to each other and carrying papers and gadgets in their hands; they would walk around, leave the academy, some would enter and walk down the north path.
Lady Lima sees a Beanish about to pass by her, so she asks the student, "Excuse me, where is the headmaster of this academy?"
The Beanish answered, "He's in the next room overseeing the construction of the light reflecting towers."
The Goodwill Ambassador walks down the path, where open holes on the ground expose red and blue wires and thin metal beams. She goes through a door, where she arrives in a beautiful purple room with yellow stars decorated on walls, floor and pillars holding the academy from the ground floor.
To her right, a bald, middle-aged Beanish with a big, well-trimmed white mustache is standing by a nearly-completed yellow-colored tower with a blue base. A group of Beanish students carry a large mirror together in their hands and put it down beside the tower.
The middle-aged Beanish yelled at his students, "Now, install the reflector on top of the tower! Come on, hurry now!"
The Beanish students proceed to lift the large mirror, which seems to be the reflector, to install it on top of the tower as commanded.
Lady Lima brings the middle-aged instructor's attention, "Excuse me, sir, I'm looking for the headmaster."
"Lima," the middle-aged Beanish recognizes the Goodwill Ambassador, "Welcome back. Do you recognize me? Your old classmate? Has time rot that tough memory of yours?"
"Yes, it must have," Lady Lima awkwardly replied. And then, she informed him, "I was sent to inform you, headmaster of Woohoo Hooniversity, to cease any work regarding to our kingdom's environment."
The headmaster sternly looked at his old classmate and responded, "I prefer to speak with the queen. I have a handful of students willing to submit their pieces for the environment. Has something gone wrong?"
Lady Lima leaned closer to the headmaster and whispered to him, "It would be a lot easier if… you surrender the academy."
"To the queen?" the headmaster sounded confused, "She… she would never."
But Lady Lima corrected, "No, not to her. To me."
The headmaster looks at his old friend in confusion and laughs, hoping that Lady Lima is making some sort of joke, but seeing the Goodwill Ambassador's serious face turn to a grin made it unsure for the headmaster. The students proceed to look at their headmaster and Lady Lima.
Lady Lima brings her right hand out, revealing a spark of electricity running in her right hand. The headmaster's eyes widen in confusion until his consciousness has been knocked out when a bolt of lightning struck him.
The students gasp in fear. Lady Lima raised both of her hands up and started to release bolts of lightning against the students, electrocuting them and knocking them out cold.
The Goodwill Ambassador is once again engulfed in purple smoke. The smoke clears to once again reveal a swarm of green bats. They proceed to fly separately to many other rooms. In each room, each bat opened its mouth to strike bolts of lightning and balls of fire on the students of Woohoo Hooniversity.
The rooms of the academy are damaged a little, but those who are in the academy are knocked out cold while some have died.
The bats reform, releasing purple gas as out came the infamous Beanish witch Cackletta. She cackled in victory and said to the knocked-out headmaster, "Ah, haven't done that in years of the prince's training. It is certainly good to be back. It is time to work."
Cackletta takes out a mask from her robe and proceeds to equip it to the headmaster's face. The headmaster's skin is covered by a gray fabric until his whole body is covered by it. The headmaster has transformed into a Laser Snifit.
Cackletta brings out more Laser Snifit masks and orders the Laser Snifit, "Fit these to everyone else, Laser Snifit."
